Politics / Re: Corruption Allegations: Atiku Suffering From Early Signs Of Depression —APC by Benzora(m): 6:47am On Dec 27, 2018
If indeed this Atiku is corrupt as being alleged by the apc after almost 4years of their anti-Corruption war, then that tells a lot about the apc government and their anti-Corruption rhetoric. Just in case you have forgotten, you are in power, prosecute him if you have any evidence of his corruption and stop this nonsense

Talk about a life devoted to serve humanity. Unfortunately, we are here in the same country hating and killing each other, instincts that this God's creature conquered decades ago when he decided to relocate to a strange land to serve people he never knew. Rest on dear Reverend, may the almighty God accept your service.

That FCT Minister fellow, the only time I get to see him is when the president is jetting out or in. Is that the only thing he was appointed to do? The fct is begging for roads especially in districts like Galadimawa, Lokogoma, Apo, Gudu, etc. The entire streets are dark and scary at night because the street lights are not powered on. What the heck is his job?

mars123:
Everywhere you turn, the critics of this administration are constantly berating the government based on the sole fact that a cabinet has not yet been constituted, Ignoring the fact that the President is obviously cleaning the system, blocking leakages and loopholes that were inherited from the previous government. It is rather unfortunate that the critics keep on talking about a dictatorial government that only exist in their bitter hearts and minds. It is rather unfortunate that the critics ignore the fact that all appointments made so far are based on credibility and performance as against what was obtained in previous governments. It is most unfortunate that the critics don't want to give this government the benefit of the doubt that the delay in appointing ministers is because this administration is searching for in-corrupt, hardworking, and fearless ministers to draw up and drive the policies of the administration. I personally want the critics to know that Nigerians know what they want and no no amount of needless wailing will make the government be forced into making costly decisions that will eventually hamper its effectiveness in the long run and in turn rob us Nigerians of the dividends of democracy we have been waiting for since 1999.

My friend, impunity cannot be fought with impunity. That we have been waiting for the dividends of democracy since 1999 does not mean that the constitution should be usurped for any reason. As the poster rightly mentioned, with fellows like you around, it won't be long before Buhari transforms into a maximum ruler in the mold of AK of iran. You should not, never take 3months to appoint a cabinet except he has become God otherwise even if he takes the next 1year, some of his appointees will still eventually fall short. A stronger message will be sent by hiring and firing anyone that falls short. I smell something sinister going on otherwise for a man who spent 12years of his life vying for an office and working with people to actualize it eventually and suddenly waking up not to find any of them fit for appointment gives serious cause for concern.

Nobody is above the constitution and if the constitution mandates him the president to appoint an executive team, then he should proceed without further delay and appoint them. By every rational standard, we should not be talking about the appointment of a cabinet now. We need to move on to other important issues of national concern. President Buhari is holding the entire nation to ransome. If indeed we the people are his employers then he is holding us to ransome rather than delivering on his mandate. As the popular saying goes, when a hand shake begin to extend to the elbow then one has to beware. We must all beware from henceforth.

Politics / Re: Buhari To Appoint Ministers At The Fullness Of Time by Benzora(m): 8:17pm On Jul 07, 2015
The challenge with a lot of folks here commenting is that they comment before reading. Appointing ministers is a constitutional requirement for Buhari. It's not optional, he can't decide to work with the perm secs. It is not in his powers to do that except the constitution is amended. That he is running the government without ministers is an abuse of the provisions of the constitution and this is not good. You can't stop impunity while at the same time masterminding impunity. The excuses so far are lame. He can't be the only good person!

Politics / Re: Who Do You Want As Head Of The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)? by Benzora(m): 2:26am On Apr 03, 2015
Seun:
The normal police should be reformed and the EFCC placed under them. There is nothing special about financial crimes. It's a police thing.

@Seun, there is actually something special about financial crimes. The normal Police Investigator just needs to understand basic investigation techniques however, a financial investigator must not only understand basic accounting techniques but also he must understand telecom operations, banking operations, ICT Operations(cyber crime), oil & gas operations, etc. In essence, it is a highly specialized field requiring equally very specialized skills

The NPF has tried through the sfu (special fraud unit) to investigate financial crimes but couldn't thereby necessitating the establishment of the icpc and then the efcc. The Police as it is, is already inadequate in dealing with regular policing duties which also led to the creation of the nscdc and before that, the frsc. There are still calls for the creation of state police agencies which is also not strange. About 380k npf men can't police over 180m people adequately with other side duties like the vip protection/ guard duties for individuals and corporate organizations which takes up nearly half of the policemen leaving just about 200k men to police the rest of us.

Having specialized agencies like these ones is not peculiar to Nigeria. The US has fbi, triple S, uspis, etc beside the state police agencies. the uk also has nca (formerly soca) met police, etc, Malaysia has the malaysia anticorruption agency. Singapore has the same thing. FYI the establishment of the efcc was not conceived by the Nigerian govt. but rather a part requirement for the country to be delisted from ncct (non compliant countries and terrorities) of the fatf (financial action task force) which has now made nigeria a member of the prestigious egmont group. Nigeria is benefiting from dfi because of the work of the efcc. Nigerians banks can now carry out financial transactions with foreign banks in other jurisdictions because we are a member of the egmont group.

Obasanjo was happy creating the icpc but int'l exigencies made him to also create the efcc so it is not as simple as reform the police and make efcc an appendage of the police. It is also wrong to put a serving police officer at the helm of affairs at the efcc another independentt agency because then, you make subservient to the police since whoever is at the helm of affairs is still answerable to the ig. This, to a large extent has bugged down the efcc (recall the posting of ribadu by the ig). This is also a major reason why the current chairman cannot perform because once he starts a case and any of the parties reach out to say an aig or dig who is his senior in the police, it will be difficult not to do the bidding of the officer since one day, he will return to the police.

And finally as to who the cap for the efcc chairman fits, I understand there are competent, well trained officers of the efcc who can do the job. Let the president elect look within the efcc.

What will then be the cost of building a 300k bpd refinery. Bunch of rogues. What rocket science could have been involved in constructing the rifineries that nearly 40years later, Nigeria cannot replicate it through reverse engineering even if it means tearing down one of the useless refineries. Common sense is not common to this people afterall. Over 500m usd?
Politics / Re: How We Determined The Autheticity Of Leaked Tape On Ekiti Election- U.S FIRM by Benzora(m): 4:14pm On Feb 07, 2015
I know Nigerians become easily gullible reading this so called forensic report from London but before you run to quick conclusions, you may want to consider the following thoughts on the report:
1. Does 30 or even 100yrs of experience as an investigator translate to specific competency in Forensic audio analysis. What are Fitgerald's qualifications and experiences as a forensic audio analyst.
2. How many other previous forensic audio cases has he done?
3. Is he a court qualified forensic audio analyst?
4. Who peer reviewed the analysis that he conducted?
5. Since they were not able to obtain request voice specimens on the original questioned voices, what specific words did they base their conclusions on and were these of sufficient quantity to enable them reach a conclusion?
6. Can you compare apples with oranges? Especially when you don't have sufficient comparative specimens?
7. What is the error rate of the voice analysis instrument(s) used in the analysis?
8. Is it possible for instance for Dr. Damages who has become an expert in mimicking Dr. Goodluck Jonathan's voice to produce the same characteristics as those of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan when subjected to the instrument?
9. Is Fitgerald a member of any recognized professional forensic body like the Chartered Forensic Science Society?
10. Is the laboratory where this analysis was conducted a government laboratory or an accredited private laboratory?
11. What was the device used in recording the original questioned voice recordings and the specimen voice recordings?
12. Was the analysis done from the original media or were the media changed at any point?
13. Between the time the recordings were made and the analysis done, what was the chain of custody details?
14. Do we have any reason(s) to doubt the integrity of the way the evidence was recorded, stored, transmitted and the methodologies employed in the examinations conducted?

I can go on and on, so please let's be careful in running to conclusions about the veracity or otherwise of this recordings and their subsequent analysis and report. With all kinds of voice changing free ware available on the internet, anything is possible. Thanks.

Family / Re: Separation Is Imminent In My Marriage. by Benzora(m): 12:26am On Jan 05, 2015
@poster, go to the nearest Police Station and report the threats to your life. Next step, seek a temporary seperation to allow both of you objectively assess your relationship. Understand that you can't hide from her and if she decides to make good her threat to hour life, only God can save you as all she need do is have the assasins lay in wait at your office. Marriage works on compromise. Try to ignore the butt pads issue for a later time say 1yr. as you must thread softly on issues that are highly flamable. Your wife is still quite immature and has brought some terrible traits from home. Be patient for now with her as it appears she's got a short temparament otherwise she can even poison you out of anger and regret it later. Plus knowing that she got a bad supprt base, try not to take your issues out to 3rd parties. Finally, join a good Church and enroll for marriage counselling as it is never too late to do the right thing. Wishing you the very best.

Family / Re: Whose Church Is The Family Church?? by Benzora(m): 8:53am On Nov 14, 2014
The man is the head of the home. What this means is that he is your Pastor and your spiritual leader. What this again means is that there can be no better Pastor over you than him. Electing to separate yourself from his spiritual lineage has deep and grave implications. Your primary contribution to the success of your marriage especially in a Christian marriage is submission. Even if you have taken his position of bread winner, that is secondary. This issue is not negotiable. You may bully him to submitting to what you want, but girl there will always be a price for not keeping to your part of the covenant. God instituted marriage and set the rules for a successful marriage. If you choose to manipulate the rules, be ready for the consequences. For those still single, ensure you attend marriage counseling and understand the full implications of marriage before jumping in and then start seeking solutions to problems caused by lack of understanding of the principles of marriage from the wrong quarters. @poster, make sure to do the right thing.
