Family / Re: My Wife: Why Is The Life of Women So Complicated? by Berankis: 1:26pm On Nov 26, 2023
Matinox:
This evening I took a reflection on what my wife has gone through in our small marital journey, my heart swirled up with gratitude, I felt like to call my mum and tell her thank you again.

Women are built different!

I just had a baby, I was in the labour room and boy o boy!
The female body is a work of art!

I considered the pains they go through...
My wife for instance, after marriage, sex was a huge desert to cross, it was her first time, she would cry countless times, by the time we crossed that hurdle, she took in, pregnancy came with its own shenanigans!

This thread isn't about my wife, but to all honest women out there, God bless your efforts.

First sex - Pain
Pregnant - Pain
Delivery - Pain
First Breast feeding - Intense pain
Resume sex after child birth - Pain
Wean your baby - Pain

Life for you all is like an art gallery, you all fit into many descriptions. God bless you all.

My mum & wife inclusive!
Yeah! We give it to them. A lot of them make life worth living. But with the exception of few ones that make life the opposite.
Life of a man too is never painless! Mentally, physically and otherwise.

It's just a shame.... that people who deserve care and love don't get them but some nuisance and disgruntled people get them. This life no balance!
I appreciate the fact that you keep referring to Davido as Oga. That's loyalty! I pray you keep growing... You will get someone better and you will forget all about her.
A man should always chase money first before women. Never cancel any money-making opportunity to please a woman, except she is extremely worth it.

Good day beautiful people,
I am in a bit of a fix and need advice on how best to confront this situation .

There is this mama put restaurant besides my house in lagos but separated by a fence.
However the said restaurant is built attached to the fence in the next compound and that makes it awfully close to my windows and they cook with firewood not even charcoal but all manner of firewood.

The owner of the mama-put a yoruba woman ( very hard working ) starts cooking by 6 a.m up till 11 p.m with smokes going up and into the windows of my bedroom ( upstairs) and other rooms in my house making my room very stuffy and causing me to keep shutting all my windows .

Personally I can't stand any form of smoke be it cigarettes or smokes from burning stuffs

With the high cost of fuel I can't keep running Gen to keep my rooms ventilated and power supply is poor in my area .

I have thought of approaching her concerning this matter but from my observation the woman is very harsh n raze and I fear she might not reason with me .

I understand it's her means of livelihood but I am suffering cus of it and all my cloths in my wardrobes are all smelling smoke ... My room has smoke smell as a result of this , it only reduces if I keep my windows shut for weeks .
I hate problems and I avoid conflicts in every way ... But I have been suffering this for long now

Is there any authority I can report to ?

Or is there a better way to make her understand my plight and switch to cooking with gas without appearing like her enemy of progress ?

Please your advice is needed thanks
If you are in Lagos report het to LASEPA. I believe they deal with these issues.... Noise pollution and other forms... Report her don't let her kill you with smoke.

This post reminds me of what a friend told me about his past.
He had a fiancée whom he had finished paying her dowry.
She visited uninvited from the state where she resides to where he was then only to meet him on top of a lady
He wasn't aware of her presence, only for him to realise after Cumming that she's sitting, watching them.
He was so shocked and confused but she was calm. She now asked them if they were through that she'd want to wash the bedsheet grin
After seeing the other lady off, his fiancée washed the bedsheet and even prepared pounded yam without showing any sign of anger.

The summary of this story is very simple, some oyinbo people came to Nigeria and got some Nigerian collaborators to help them loot the country dry
It started with Russians, then Americans and finally Indians. In all, close to Seven Billions dollars was looted using this medium and not one single ounce of steel has left this facility
If there is a Guinness world record for this kind of activity, Nigeria would be given the world record effortlessly
What a country, sometimes I seriously feel we are the most unfortunate set of people when it comes to Leadership
Now some people are advising this government to keep spending money on this God forsaken project, they should better turn that place to a agriculture industrial hub and start planting Yam,Cassava, legumes and other cash crops

Your analysis is quite good but where I have an issue is mentioning LEADERSHIP. Our problem is not leadership but the Nigerian citizenry. Most Nigerians are dubious, desperate, wasteful, crazy and worthless set of people. When we realize this and start to correct it, the country will start to get meaningful.

Family / Re: My Experience With A Widower. All Men Are The Same by Berankis: 7:21pm On Nov 18, 2023
I like your write up. You write well, must be intelligent. Anyway, I am a man and I agree that most men have the tendency to cheat, it only takes the grace of God not to.
Funny enough, I met my wife on "Baddoo". I was working for one of the telecoms companies then and we had a product package that contained Baddoo and I wanted to test the app to know more about it and luckily I met my madam and we have been married for close to 9years with 2kids. I have never cheated on her though I occasionally feel attraction for other women but I always quickly kill it or avoid it totally.
I promised myself I would never cheat because, I never thought I would come this far in life. I lived a kind of rough life in the past and God still blessed me and brought me to where I am today. I thank God for His mercies.
Here are some of my discoveries about men, women and marriage:
1. Men will always be men (they were built to desire women wether you accept it or not)
Not all men cheat, but the percentage might be low (and coupled with so much moral decadence now)
2. Women are smart and manipulative, so men have to tolerate more and pretend they don't see most things (so that life can be convenient)
3. Marriage is a 50:50 thing, if you have a good wife/husband, don't take her/him for granted, appreciate their effort and commitment (where there is commitment and effort).
4. I discovered that one actually needs principles to guide you through your life course, for example, the bible - God says don't do this and that (my brother/sister it's for your own good. If you doubt it, go ahead and knock yourself out and have a hard experience)
5. I am not the best of husbands but I always try to do my best (but I no go die before my time sha)
6. Some men can cheat and still love their wives very much (but I don't like deceit besides, cheating is a lot of hard work on its own - having to work hard to impress your side chick and work extra hard to keep it away from your wife, so that your days can be long on earth). I can't afford it anymore. I simply stay away from anything of such and I pre-occupy my mind with the goals I want to achieve in life.
7. Marriage is a fine blend of happiness and sadness (just savour both and keep moving).
8. Marriage is a big sacrifice (a lot is at stake, most importantly - the children)
9. If you have the privilege of dating before marriage, please do it well and enjoy it, cos the sparkle dey reduce inside the marriage but it doesn't reduce the love. Infact, love increases)
10. Husband and wife should work together to build things that will secure them and their family in the future.
11. Distrust, selfishness, lack of appreciation, too much smartness, too much strength, too much discipline, too much control can bring a marriage to its knees.
Just do the best you can and leave the rest to God.

Even this narrative is not convenient. Suicide is only understandable where a person lives alone but when with people, everybody becomes a suspect. So, there's nothing wrong in doing thorough investigation.
Lastly, rate of Nigerians killing themselves now is worrisome, we still have a whole lot to go through together and work for before this country can get better. No one should die unnecessarily. President Tinubu start doing your work please, We must build this country!

There's something about managing public infrastructure that Nigerians still can't get right. You'll see a beautiful building today, go back there and check it after 3 years and you'll feel like vomitting.

Besides, how a right-thinking human will pay 350K to live in such a deplorable and dilapidated building beats my imagination. Education without common sense is truly a waste of time.

Our problem in Nigeria is about us, we are the country's misfortune and not the other way round.

Anywhere you have aggregation of females it doesn't end well most times. Women are purely emotional beings, when they love and fight, they do it without caution. They have been known to be very dangerous when taken for granted.
Finally, the batch of youth we currently raise in this country will be the gradual downfall of this country. The current crop of Nigerian youth are largely so irresponsible, reckless, thoughtless, clout-chasing, very trivial, very weak and they continue to lose the basic qualities and life ethics that will keep them alive.
They just want to do everything for the social media ("glams & grams"). Run after so-called celebrities while neglecting their own personal lives.

Truly, an act of betrayal but done in all honesty. I will advice you to act angry too for a while and allow everybody to simmer down. You can later apologise to your mother and tell her it was accidentally sent.
Your mother is your mother. You will have to be very skilled, patient, intelligent and tolerant in handling her. A lot of mothers are like this.
In my situation too, they sometimes quarel and won't settle it within themselves but they would want to bring their children who have been good cousins into their issue.
Women are the problems of this world but there would be none without them.

Since a man is expected to take care of his wife and children in this part of the world, it is only logical for every female to marry at least who can comfortably provide basic things for the family.

Don't insult the girl, just don't get marry when you are broke because no matter how you try to explain, society will frown at you the moment you can't provide for your family.
You people and double standards. Your illogical reasoning... And where a man is comfortable enough to take care of everyone, the wife starts dragging equality with him. Well, life has a way balancing itself out anyway, all your one-sided reasoning will be automatically be canceled out.

He has been accused of same against Bua. Who knows how many more he has done without our knowledge.

Now coming to Lagos to setup a Refinery, I think something is fishy about Dangote and Tinubu/LASG, and we need to be wary of this their relationship. It will not end well for the common man. Dangote is far too selfish a man to do any good for the average Nigeria.

richmond500:
The essence of these policies is to kill importation business and make Nigeria a production country.
Your business is not the only business that is dying, many business that depends on dollar has closed down and more will close too.

Time is coming when Naira will hit 5000 to a dollar. When this happens, foreign products will be difficult to purchase and we will have no choice but to buy made in Nigeria goods cos even a pair of foreign pants will be so expensive that only politicians can afford it while the rest of us will wear plantain leaves.

It's so annoying that the average secondary school student knows the dollar to naira exchange rate, that shows how we depend so much on the dollar and killing our own naira.
Until we patronize our own companies, we can't grow the economy, this painful stage is called the transition stage from foreign to local, the govt is not the problem but the time it takes Nigerians to accept the Nigerian goods will determine how long the pain will last.

In the next five years, we will fully accept our own economy and in the next ten years, we will have an economy that will beat France and Germany cos we have the market already.
Unfortunately... Only a very few can see this. It is just the sad truth. We all want a great Nigeria on a platter of gold without paying the price for greatness.
