Very stunning but not the best for a wedding occasion IMO |
Dapsonemmanuel:I guess they used a particular part of Lagos state for the statistics- probably the island/other high net worth areas, cos the standard of life for working class people there compares similarly with most cities abroad. IMO, in contrast the Lagos mainland would be amongst the cheapest places to live. |
EHMIR:Hahah, comment of the day ![]() |
In a recent report by CNN Money, lagos has been ranked as the 7th most expensive city for employees. Here's an overview of the rankings; 1. London 2. Newyork 3. Hong Kong 4. Paris 5. Tokyo 6. San Francisco 7. Lagos 8. Singapore 9. Dubai 10. Sydney Source:http://money.cnn.com/gallery/pf/2016/03/02/most-expensive-cities-work/7.html |
I just came across this scripture in my devotion today and thought there was someone out there that just needed to see this. For the backslidden christian, all hope in Christ isn't lost! 1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD. 2 Lift up thine eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lien with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness; and thou hast polluted the land with thy whoredoms and with thy wickedness. 3 Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a LovePeddler's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed. 4 Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth? 5 Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest. 6 The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot. 7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. 8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also. 9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks. 10 And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith the LORD. 11 And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah. 12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever. 13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD. 14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: 15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. |
Xcely:Very well said mr |
Covenant University Alumnus, Kemi Onabanjo recently delivered a speech as valedictorian for over 490 INSEAD alumni in the graduating class of 2016. Both 4iCU and Webometrics have released their first edition of their university rankings. Again, a very interesting trend is observed across both rankings, the leading Nigerian universities remained in the top 5 spots across both rankings while there was some variation towards the latter part of the lists. There was an impressive showing of FUTs this year, with Minna, Owerri and Akure strongly positioned in the top 10. Although Covenant university slipped 1 place down from first position on webometrics, it remained in the top 4 across both rankings retaining it's title as the best private university in Nigeria. University of Lagos and University of Ibadan are this year's top universities on 4ICU and Webometrics respectively, kudos to them! PS: The overall best is still University of Ibadan, since it became the first Nigerian university to be ranked by the highly reputed international ranking organisation QS, in 600th spot amongst the world's top 800 universities. See more details below. 4iCU 1 University of Lagos. Lagos 2 Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife 3. Welldone. Excellent post. I'd challenge every atheist to read the book "I don't have enough faith to be an Atheist" by Frank Nurek. Most atheists know deep down that a God exists, they just choose not to believe because a belief in God implies loss of freewill (especially in immoral terms). |
UIA04:Don't Mind that poster above talking about tribalism. Whether the teen is Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa, it doesn't quite change the fact that ivy leagues are very competitive and that getting admission into them is certainly something to be proud of. |
Uwamanzu-Nna, a New York City teenager of Elmont High School, and of Nigerian descent has been accepted at all eight ivy leagues. Only three days before, Chioma Onuoha, another high school senior, was offered admission into three ivy league schools including Harvard. It is interesting to note that the same Elmont High School produced Harold Ekeh, another Nigerian senior, who last year was also accepted at all ivy leagues.Uwamanzu-Nna would now have to make the difficult choice from all 8 ivy leagues, and 4 other universities totaling 12. Photos in order: Uwamanzu-Nna (Accepted to 8 Ivy leagues, 2016) Harold Ekeh (Accepted to 8 Ivy leagues, 2015) Chioma (Accepted to 3 Ivy leagues, 2016)

Please can anyone confirm average salary of engineer graduate at Nestle and the office locations? |
Themaingate:He can't do that yet, because they're still in custody of the items and it's a tricky scenario. The case has been taken up by an official in another NIPOST office who would probe the branch tomorrow. So within 24 hours we'll see if public declaration of their information will be needful or not. Thanks btw. |
tope24:Thanks for your response, I really appreciate it. What do you suggest? All attempts to reach NIPOST customer service to probe the case have been abortive, none of the NIPOST phone numbers were reachable. The recipient even has so much evidence against the NIPOST officials in question. The so-called NIPOST official in custody of the package even provided their name, account number and phone number and asked for an extravagant payment to be made before the parcel is sent (even more than the cost of the parcel postage). So it's a matter of calling in necessary authorities but it's proving abortive so far. Any ideas of how to reach a trustworthy NIPOST official would be helpful. Its very disappointing that things like this never cease to happen. |
UPDATE First I should say I am very surprised and thankful for the fact that so many people here feel the injustice in this case. I appreciate the concern and support people here have provided. So I thought to update the house on a recent development as regards the parcel. An authority from another branch in the same state was contacted and action is being taken tomorrow to find out which officials are involved and to ensure the parcel is in order. No information has been posted about the officials yet, as it is a sensitive scenario because they are still in custody of the parcel. After tomorrow more information will be disclosed if there is still no progress. I remain thankful for all the support shown. I believe Nigeria can advance faster if we are able to stand up against injustices/vices like this every time they arise on different fronts. Thanks people |
Someone recently sent a parcel through a postal service company abroad. All was well until it reached Nigeria and was handed over to NIPOST. The recipient then sent the sender a message that someone was asking for compensation for paying customs fees for the parcel and that he should make a payment to them for over 10k. The parcel is slightly above 5kg and has since reached the recipient's location in Nigeria. However they're asking for customs fees to be paid to their personal accounts (this is what makes me skeptical. Whatever happened to official Customs' account numbers?) before the recipient can take delivery of the parcel. Do you guys think this is normal? |
Aspiregreat:Well said man, I'm glad you agree. It's website could easily be first on this ranking based on that alone. |
