man2frayo:Not an economist but can give my two cents. Essentially, green bonds are like a pool of funds available to investors (think energy companies, or SMEs) who are looking to execute major renewable/sustainable infrastructural projects. These could be anything from purchase of energy efficiency infrastructure to deployment of offshore wind-turbines. How do investors get returns? Ideally investments in such green projects should provide financial returns to the borrowing investor who then pays back any borrowed funds. These come back to the bond investor with some form of gain which isn't taxed. Where do the funds come from? These could be raised from investors through financial institutions who serve as a hub. Investors could be the public sector or private individuals looking to invest in sustainability projects as described above. Why Would investors choose green bonds over taxable bonds? Because returns on these bonds are not taxed. This is an incentive from bond issuers and the Climate Bond Standard Board to encourage investment in Green infrastructure. So I just noticed a decision has been made on my application by checking the UKVI status website. It was updated last thursday. However my TLS status has not changed yet, and I have not received any email in that regard or for collection. I'm thinking of just going to check at the VAC tomorrow or next. Hi all, I intend attending my convocation in june, have a letter from school. Applying from Nigeria, but staying with a friend on a degree there also. Was wondering if this sort of arrangement would pass? I'm also employed and would only be away for a week and have a base salary of 200k monthly (although I've earned almost 100k higher every other month still from my employer). Atm, current balance is just above 150k. Wondering if I can go ahead with the visa application now? or wait till I have much more (although i feel I'm a bit late since convocation is june) PS: I just returned from a UK scholarship in September. Visa expired in January. Moreso I've planned flight plus living expenses = 400k |
