I was born in Ondo state in the 80s. At the time, Ondo and Ekiti state were still a state. Up until 1996, it was so. Therefore I know the Ekiti people and I can even say one or two things about them. And one thing I know is that Ekiti state people weren't known for the negativity that surrounds the state at the moment.

Firstly, Ekiti state boasted of the academicians of Nigeria. Great professors, Doctors and so on. Secondly, Ekiti people were honest people. They would rather die hungry than steal any ones property. Thirdly, Ekiti people are morally upright. They won't see black and call it white. Disciplined and intelligent. One last thing is that just like Ondo people, they too are very "strong headed". You can't intimidate or lord over them anything they don't want.

If all the above are true abt these state, how come all the drama happening in there, orchestrated by their own governor and no one is saying anything. Apart from the fact that the state has remain underdeveloped for like eternity, no thanks to selfish governors whose only agenda is their pocket. The people now are so silenced and even disorientated. Hmmm, I guess propaganda still works magic. Fayose with all the problems in Ekiti, from their dyeing educational sector to almost no healthy health institutions, dwindled economy, bad roads, lack of any reasonable social amenity etc, has chosen to face the federal government who is also grasping with reality of a collapsing nation. Poking his nose in all that doesn't concern him. Raising dust where there is none.

Dear fayose, why not face the many problems of Ekiti state and make yourself the chosen one u are claiming to be. Why not leave all this your fake "abracadabra " or stage managed people's policy. Or how do I describe ur nonsense old benz used for ur inauguration that no more exist in your motorcade. How abt u sitting on a vehicle, throwing banana to the Ekiti people you have turned to Monkeys. Oh, I forgot u also went to "buka" to eat. I know this because, the Ekiti state glorified secondary school that u call University is having different issues ranging from infrastructural decay to unstable academic sessions etc, yet the student association went to the streets to protest that u should be left alone to see out ur non existing people's given mandate .


I don't know Ekiti to be a private sector state, only for this nonsensical "sit tight" government to quickly form one new association of private sector that is chaired by Okada people and taxi plus bus drivers. My gosh, is this the level of idiosyncrasy in Ekiti ni. Abi how do I explain the eccentricity in the state now. So the intellectual people are now absent in Ekiti. Abi how come there is no one really speaking against this comedian called Fayose.

Ekiti people went on strike because of their unpaid salaries, only for this clown called fayose too to come out and said he too was on strike as a way of solidarity for the workers instead of finding solutions to their problem. What I have seen in Ekiti is bewildering to say the least. I only wonder, what is going on and for how long in that once glorious state. What project has dis fayose done gan in Ekiti.

I heard he is working on an Airport for the state. The question is, is it an Okada privatised sector of the state that wants to land in d airport. Or is it that farmer that wants to fly his yam or cocoa to and from Ekiti airport. (misplaced priority). Oh, may be it's another poultry project in the making.

A former minister of aviation and serving Senator, Stella Oduah, has threatened to sue Sahara Reporters.
This is following a report allegedly published by the online platform that the ex-minister hid N2.5b in her housemaid’s bank account.
According to Leadership, Oduah described the report as false and baseless saying no such account existed.
She also wondered why the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has not called the housemaid for investigation.
The Senator also alleged that Sahara Reporters uses its platform to blackmail and extort money from leaders.

Falana had during a paper entitled: ‘The Limits of Immunity Clause’, he delivered at the 6th birthday of the Edo State’s Secretary to Government, (SSG) Professor Julius Inhonvbere, said that the money Laundering Act and thhe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Act as well as the international criminal court laws did not give absolute immunity to governor Fayose against criminal prosecution, adding that the EFCC was toeing a legitimate path by freezing the governor’s accounts.

Falana goofed on those areas.

The Senior Advocate Mike Ozhekhome who heads governor Fayose’s legal team against the EFCC at the Federal High Court, Ado-Ekiti, spoke to reporters yesterday in Ado-Ekiti, saying: ” Femi Falana made three points on the matter and I totally disagree with him.

“He said that you can institute a legal process against governors because they are also sued during election petitions. And I disagree with him on that because election petitions are too generic, they are generic because they are in a class of their own. They are hybrid, neither civil or criminal procedures. That is why it is the constitution itself that gives the right for a governor to be sued when they are challenging his mandate, it is not the lower laws like an Act of parliament like EFCC. EFCC is an act of parliament which is millions of miles lower than the provisions of the constitution. And any provision from the EFCC Act or money laundeiring Act which is inconsistent with the provision of the constitution is null and void by nature of section 1, sub-section 3 of the same 1999 constitution,” he said.

Arguing further, he said: “It is the same constitution in section 308 that says that when it comes to civil or criminal procedure, you can never sue the governor and such should not be entertained in any court of Law.

“Contrary to Falana’s argurment, that immunity is not absolute, it is totally absolute.

“[b]In the case of the IGP versus Gani Fawehinmi which he cited, the Supreme Court upheld that the governor can be investigated; it, however, said that you would have to wait till he vacates his office before you move any court process against him. That was the decision of that court.

“Falana also said that the Money Laundering Act can also apply against a sitting governor, that is wrong. The money laundering Act is an act of the parliament which is as low as the EFCC Act and the two of them must bow down to the Kabiyesi (Lord) of our laws which is the 1999 consitution (as amended in 2011). And that constitution in its section 308 says that whether under the money laundering Act or the EFCC Act, you cannot move against Fayose or any other governor, vice-president or President or deputy-governor.

“The third point by Falana that immunity is not total has been debunked because section 308 of the contitution overrides all the Acts of parliament such as the Money Laundering and the EFCC Act.

“He also said that governors of Nigeria are not immune from the procedures of the international criminal court; of course that is outside the jurisdiction of Nigeria. International criminal court operates worldwide and even in that court, all the people who are being tried are usually tried for war crimes or crimes against humanity only when they have vacated office not when they are still in office.

“And even at that, these international courts operate internationally and we are in Nigeria. The supreme law of Nigeria or the Kabiyesi (Lord) of all laws in Nigeria is the consitution and by virture of the section 1 sub section 3 of this constitution, which says this law shall be supreme and if any other law is inconsistent with the provisions of this consitution, that law shall be null and void.

“So, none of all the arguements Falana has canvassed therefore can show that immunity can be watered down.

“I think what the EFCC is trying to do is to be clever by half by now allegedly obtaining a court order directly against Zenith bank plc; they forgot that some sections of the EFCC Act, for example section 28, 30 say that before you can freeze an account of any person, you must first of all arrest the person and after that, insitute a criminal proceedings against the person before you can then get an order of the court to freeze the person’s accounts. The simple question is, can you arrest Fayose now? Or insitutte any criminal proceedings against him? The answer is no.

“So, what the EFCC has done from every angle is illegal and unconsitutional. And they are doing all this after the illegal freeezing because they know they are in a mess.

“If they feel the law is inadequate, too bad! they have to first go to the National Assembly and ask them to remove section 308 which is the immunity clause or better still wait till October 16, 2018 when Fayose would vacate office as governor before they can come after him. [s]It's high time we put aside our political differences, our political affiliations and whatever that separate us, and cleaved to that which would guarantee good governance, and alleviate the sufferings of our kinspersons in Ekiti land. It's high time we stood for good governance. It's high time we realized the reason for our desire for a change of baton during the administration of Dr. Fayemi. It's high time we stopped talking of political parties. We cannot pretend not to know that all is not well with our dear state. And no one should remind anyone that it's a general phenomenon all over the country, Nigeria.
If the current trails of accusation against our incumbent governor, His Excellency Ayodele Fayose, are true; it's high time we rebuked him.
Whichever way it's used to expose any form of self-enrichment or stealing of our commonwealth is acceptable. Be it witch-hunt, persecution, or prosecution. As long as it's established that our money was stolen, it's an injustice against Ekiti people.
It's time to let the world know that, The people of Ekiti extraction, who know Fayose right from the beginning: his hay days at the motor park in Molete/Challenge Ibadan, his shoddy stint at Ibadan Polytechnic and the attendant OND/HND certificate drama, his first advent in Ekiti state house and his inglorious exit, his alleged backdoor second advent, and his impending doom, if found guilty; cannot be moved by any antics.
We should let the world know what we want is good governance, and whosoever can give that to us is welcomed irrespective of his political party. It's time to let the world know that Most of the people singing the praises of corrupt politicians are either people of questionable character, or people who are innocently ignorant, or people who depend on politics for a living.
A true born Ekiti with intact integrity does not celebrate stealing , mediocrity, or sycophancy.
Our Dear Governor Fayose should know that time is the decider of all things. If he's stolen, time will tell.
In the end, the truth would be exposed. And it would leave no one in doubt. It's a matter of time.
The clock is ticking. The time is fast approaching. The day of reckoning is here!
