Politics / An Open Letter To My Ekiti People by BestGovernance(f): 10:34pm On Apr 09, 2015
My Dear people of Ekiti, it is high time we rose up against all political odds that about to give us a bad world record; a state where same governor will be impeached twice.
We should remember that we have toiled this part before and the cost became unbearable. We had about three to four governors in 3 years, first state to have state of emergency in SW, non indigene as governor, guber polls with run off election, 13:13 lawmakers saga, death tolls of citizens and worst more.
All these happened through external forces that feasted on our impatience, ignorance and hatred.
According to Groucho Marx, "Politics is the act of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it correctly and applying the wrong remedies". This is a clarion call to the two warring camps to reconsider their current actions and further steps.

Genesis of the current tide started when Fayemi accepted defeat and his party acted vice versa, when judiciary revisited eligibility suit to frustrate peoples' mandate, when Speaker Omirin prophesied to be Acting Governor, when governance issues were abandoned by APC lawmakers.
All these led to factional speakers, shutdown of legislative roles, minority ratifying cabinet and budget, unbecoming adverts and prophecies against GMB by Fayose.

Now impeachment gate, Ekiti, land of honour and knowledge, evil must not happen again on this land.
Let all stakeholders put hands on desk to savage our state from this disgrace. Both parties should put away partisanship for democracy to benefit Ekiti people. Fayose might have committed fouls while Omirin and his party might not be absolutely right.
Allowing external forces to decide our fortunes again will do us more harms than good.

Please let peace reign.

Long live Ekiti,
Long live Nigeria
Politics / Riddles Of Manipulation Of Numbers by BestGovernance(f): 10:38pm On Apr 08, 2015
RIDDLES OF MANIPULATION OF NUMBERS

One day the father of algebra called, Muhammad ibn Musa Alkhwarizmi, was passing through a village on his camel. At the outskirt of this village he saw three men in hot argument with confusion on how to share their father’s inheritance. Their father left 17 camels as inheritance for them to share according to their ages with a clear statement in the will that the oldest should take half of the camels. While the second born should take one-third and 2 camels for the last born. These young men have tried all formulas but it was to no avail. As they were narrating the puzzle, Mr. Algebra just asked for permission to assist them and they all agreed. He came down from his camel and told them that he will add his camel to theirs so as to make it 18. Thereafter, he asked the first to take his half portion which is now 9 and the man did. For the second born, he is to take one third which is now 6 and he also did. Mr. Algebra then removed his camel and they were left with 2 for the last born. They were all happy and about to leave the scene, and then said Mr. Algebra, “Part of success in life is ability to manipulate numbers”.

This short story will broaden my take about the just concluded presidential election held on 28

th March, 2015 in the most populous black nation called Nigeria.

The statistics of 2011 and 2015 presidential elections are available in public domain for all to see for diagnosis. In 2011 the two major contestants pulled about 35million votes altogether with Jonathan of PDP having over 22million votes. While in 2015 both contestants again pulled about 27million votes out of 68million registered voters with GMB having over 15million as the winner. INEC bent on using card readers and PVC can be attributed to this reduction in voting volumes, it was not only affected some eligible voters but predetermined the outcome. To me election is not just voting and counting but a process with many strata. From the creation of additional polling units to distribution of PVC, we have recorded imbalances and unfairness. Out of about newly created 30,000 polling units 21,000 went to the North and 9,000 came to the South, to the extent that Abuja got more than one of the geo political zones in the south. My big question was what rationale did INEC used to arrive at this vital pole. Although, some southerners went against it but the siting president did not see it as a doom for his pursuit.

Followed by this double standard was rate of distribution of PVC in the two poles called North and South. The North got almost 95% of PVC for their registered voters while south was struggling around 68%. The most amazing drama was that states battling with insurgency even got better than some southern states. It was at this point that I concluded that it will take a magic for the incumbent to win this election as Nigeria Politics is still clouded with religion and ethnicity sentiments. In 2011, GEJ got 11million votes from SS and SE while 7million was the case in 2015. The bombs blast and rumor in Enugu and Anambra were not miscalculations to scare voters but a mission concluded with previous PU and PVC anomalies.

While both parties used all means to rig and perpetrate election atrocities, accredited voters cannot be more than distributed PVC, so the means justified the ends. Another surprising game was what South West Politicians demonstrated; they remained silent about these impartialities in electioneering process for their selfish ambitions against the soul of their zone. According to Franklin P. Adams, “the trouble with this country is that there are too many politicians who believe with a conviction based on experience, that you can fool all of the people all of the time”.  I know many people will antagonize me that in 2011, these same zones including northern zones voted for GEJ but be reminded that political calculator was in the hand OBJ for PDP in 2011.

However, my analogy is not for this present occurrence but for the future juxtapositions of our dear co-existence for national unity.

It was a great lesson indeed for the southerners; the northerners have shown us that they are good at political mathematics while SS and SE were busy with business math and SW swimming in academic math.

Let us put partisanship apart, with inconclusive population census by OBJ in 2006 and another one coming in 2016 that might be in the hands of our born to rule brethren, will the north-south disparity come to an end? Thus, Nigeria false marriage will continue with land mass power dominating the truly populated coastal region and Peter will continue to be robbed to pay Paul.

My dear compatriots will need equity for unity on our political dashboard for this marriage of diversity to last.

Stop misleading the public, where is the source or you are another Sahara. GMB has promised to start from his day one in office
Politics / The Owner Of Yam And Knife Called Nigeria by BestGovernance(f): 7:38pm On Apr 02, 2015
The OWNER of YAM and KNIFE called NIGERIA

Foremost, congratulation to GMB and all Nigerians who made history at the 2015 polls. Even though, the victory was obvious from day one in line with Greek political mythology. The mythology states that digit ‘4’ is significant in the world politics as follows; America has 4 presidents assassinated consecutively while 4 past presidents are still living,Jimmy McCarthy, Bill Clinton, George Snr & Jnr. Also America independence was July 4

th and Nigeria has never produced president with 4 in their birth days.

To Buhari, he contested 4th time in the fourth republic (2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015). So digit 4 can either be for good or bad but it turned good for him, by October 2015 it will be 30 years that GMB left this exalted seat, what a great feat.

Here is my take concerning the poll, although it all  seem electorates votes counted in this just concluded presidential polls but to be candid it was not. Nigerians have never decided who became their President since 2nd republic and this is in line with a Yoruba adage that says, “Iromiromi to njo oni ilu wa ni isale odo” lilly dancing on the surface of river has its drummer underneath. The trend goes thus, OBJ brought in Sheu Shagari in 1979 with consent of some Northern cabals. In 1999, OBJ was made President by the same cabals

while OBJ came back to offer us Umaru Musa Yar’adua in 2007 and GEJ in 2011. He has successfully done this again with GMB through the aids of TINUBU and northern cabals in 2015.

Let me give it to Olusegun Okikiola Aremu Mathew Obasanjo aka EBORA OWU (unseen being of Owu town), is an icon, MESSI, Cicero with heavy political weight. At this point, it is a crystal clear that without OBJ we cannot have a President.

Now let us consider these leaders’ pedigree, Sheu Shagari was a saint, simple, easy going and soft but who pays the piper dictate the tune.

He could not survive it when it came back second time where he met his waterloo. The second political son of OBJ, Umaru Yar’adua, the first ever in Nigeria history to declare his asset, simple, contented and logical. Mr ENSURE could not cope with the assignment rogue. We all knew it was a punshiment meted out to Nigerians for refusing OBJ’s third term agenda.

Here came the third son of OBJ, GEJ, simple, easy going but not proactive. He was given one term according to the claimed pact he signed with the cabals.

His action to ignore  the pact taught him a hard lesson, ‘se omo ti oni iya ki gbe egbo eyin’ i.e.  a motherless boy should not have wounds at his back foot. GEJ’s action to ignore  the pact was a tall order has OBJ told us that a northerner should come back 2015 so as to adjust Yar’adua’s vacuum, he suggested  SULE LAMIDO but PDP refuted and anointed Jonathan.

Ebora Owu told them this as far back as October 2012 that he will only support a northern candidate and it happened.  GEJ would have done us good to stop these cabals if he had performance that surpassed masses expectations but it was too late for him.

To as many who thought we have started a better course or a new era, please don’t expect any things different from the past.

Sheu Shagari wanted to be a Senator, Yar’adua was busy with his severe health, GEJ never dreamed the exalted seat while GMB quitted his quest since 2011.

While OBJ remain a godfather with political protégée of many acrimonies, GMB case cannot be different. GMB was ousted by IBB when the same cabals sent his vice, General Tunde Idiagbon to Mecca for Hajj, I will leave this for another day.

My surprise now is if OBJ and his cohorts that joined APC have turned to repented Lucifer, to me there is no change at all.

May God help us in Nigeria and deliver us from the owner of YAM and KNIFE.

Politics / 2015 General Election: Will Nigeria Get It Right? by BestGovernance(f): 10:23pm On Mar 26, 2015
2015 General Election: Will Nigeria get right?

My fellow Nigerians, whenever I reflect on political landscape of the most populous black nation, I wondered if Nigeria did not fall on another planet.

The current political tide is turbulence and clearly uncertain of whom it will favour, if 2015 had been 2013, I would have concluded that year ends with 3 has an issue with my country...`1983, 1993, 2003,...` Even though the lot is evidently between two major titans, consequences of our actions on Saturday 28th March, 2015 might not be different from past records. Did I
hear you saying why?

Historically, it is no more news that Nigeria clocked 50 and 100 years for independence and existence in the tenure of Goodluck Jonathan. However, GEJ himself has never considered his emergence as something germane for Nigeria future, I will leave that for another day.

In most cases, Nigeria do get cabal-imposed leaders who have never dreamed or wanted to sail the ship but dance to the tunes of self acclaimed owners of Nigeria. To me good governance should not be a rare rose or tall order in our society but our leaders have made it so through propaganda, corruption,
nepotism, rude of law instead of rule of law, distrust, dishonesty , in fact, the list is endless.

When democracy came back in 1999, our enthusiasm was on high side for good
governance but now what is happening.

Today, some are shouting change while others are echoing transformation but
my take is that for how long are we going to continue on this path of no destination.

Quite surprising that same people who have been in corridor of power since 1999 are now chanting change. They have bedevilled our country and now changed nomenclature. If truly the two camps are different, why are we having the same cabals who meant no good for common man on the street. They
all brought us to this level.

Why is it difficult to make our refineries perform to full capacity while other oil producing countries refine and even export refined oil, ‘a slothful man does not roast what he get from game’, national power grid is still 7500MW with less than 4000MW supply while South Africa of 60millions population is using 40,000MW, major
roads in the purview of local, state and federal government are dead traps,
developmental projects are being executed at astronomical cost and lots more.

Are we changing the occupant or the system. We are running the most exorbitant system of government, where many positions are without portfolios. We consume every prey in our coffer without thinking of investing a dime like a hunter but succeeding in exporting jobs for other
countries by consuming their output.

My take about the two folds is that they are the same and not ready to offer good governance but only aspiring to drain, empty and ruin our dear country.

However, this piece is neither to discourage your voting ambition nor to stop you
from voting, so please do well to exercise your civic duty.

To this end, I want to enjoin everyone not to vote by emotional permutation or by false claims and appraisal gushing out of the two camps.
My prayer is that the good God will give us a Nigerian as President not a Northerner or a Southerner President or a Muslim or a Christian President.
But a Nigerian who will not complicate our ethnical and religious diversity but turn it to huge advantages. A leader who has no trait of the bigwigs and *rider statemen* called elder statemen.

God bless Nigeria..........
