Politics / 16years Of Pdp Mess: Another Flimsy Ranting From Hallucinations by BestGovernance(f): 7:33pm On Nov 07, 2015
16YEARS OF PDP MESS: ANOTHER FLIMSY RANTING FROM HALLUCINATIONS

It is quite misleading for Buhari, APC and their gullible followers to keep ranting to our ears that PDP messed up 16years. It is high time we drew their ears to reality.

Since the rebirth of Democracy in 1999, Nigeria has not produced any political party with ideology. All we have had are politicians that jump ship at will when the tides refuse to blow in their favour.

Let us ask ourselves simple question, who is PDP and who is APC? If this misconstrued statement still continue after five months plus in power then these messengers must be schooled.

Foremost, Buhari's decision to join commonwealth robbers to mount Aso seat was a different ethical rules to his acclaimed integrity and gullible Nigerians had failed to discern it. If PDP had fielded a Northern candidate as tailored by their founding fathers, those who left for APC would not have done so and Buhari would not have neared Aso seat.

Those who made Jonathan were same kingmakers that made Buhari king over us. They did not only ordained him but supported him with stolen commonwealth. So why all these hullabaloos, if Buhari and his co-travellers are looking for excuse to cover up, it should not be this particular song.

Moreover, space will not permit us to state it letter by letter details of those constituents who are now saints in APC. However, we will encourage our readers to peruse details made available by Tonye Barcanista through this link, www.nairaland.com/2708570/why-it-illogical-claim-pdp/8#39633657

If Buhari's reference should be accepted then why all these people still living large in his camp;

Olusegun Obasanjo- 8years under PDP as President but now Buhari's navigator,

Atiku Abubakar- 8years as Vice President under PDP but committed money and Hilux buses to Buhari's campaign,

Barnabas Gemade and Audu Ogbeh- former chairmen of PDP but now Senator and Minister designate in APC,

Aminu Masari and Aminu Tambuwal- Speakers of House of Representative under PDP but now APC Governors in Katsina and Sokoto States

Amaechi- 8years as Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly and 7years as Governor in same State but now a sanctimonious Minister designate in APC.

Nasir El-Rufai and Samuel Ortom- once Ministers under PDP but now APC Governors in Kaduna and Benue States,

Rabiu Kwankwaso- once Minister and 7years as Governor of Kano States under PDP but now APC Senator,

Aliyu Wammako, 8years as Governor of Sokoto under PDP but now APC Senator.

George Akume, Bukola Saraki, Patricia Etteh, Farouk Lawan, Timipre Sylva, Chris Ngige, Oyinlola Olagunsoye, Segun Oni, and so on. These are the people that made Buhari President over us.

They were policies makers in the last 16years that Mr Buhari keep referring to as a mess. We put it to Buhari and his co-travellers to tell us who PDP is and who is APC?

For as many that are yet to know political landscape of Nigeria, Buhari only came to fulfil the yearning of the so called owner of YAM and KNIFE named Nigeria, that power must return to the North.

Mr Buhari! Mr Buhari!! Mr Buhari!!! Please face reality and stop fooling innocent Nigerians.

Finally, Nigerians have been bewitched by same politicians that meant no good for them so as to remain gullible forever. If not, they would have known their left from right.

ADVICE FOR THE SOUTH-SOUTH PEOPLE

Except anyone want to be economical with the truth, oil is the only lubricants to our unity in this country and the moment it dries off, the greatest beneficiary zone will say goodbye.

It is on this premise we are saying that the current political pandemonium is more of ethnicity than partisan. This is not to fan ember of ethnic war but to educate Nigerians. What many Nigerians failed to discern about last general election was that it was more of north/south dichotomy than political war between PDP and APC.

Here is the gospel truth, if PDP has fielded a Northerner as Presidential candidate, all fulcrums that migrated to APC would not have been possible. Likewise the corruption brouhaha would not have been headlines. This was what they sold to us as change and Buhari only came to fulfil this purported dichotomy not change.
So why should a region that ruled for 40 out of 55 years claim marginalisation.

Now to our people in the South-South, why was it only their sons and daughter our big brother, UK has effrontery to prosecute and jail since 1999 that we have resumed to school of democracy. Does it means politicians from the North and South West are sanctimonious?. Beside this, we should ask our big brother why they have failed to shed light on those behind oil proceeds during Gulf war and other endless evils.

Here is the second question, since 1999, we have not had outright cancellation of guber polls irrespective of irregularities, so why Rivers broke this record?. If Nigerians can quickly delete from history Yobe REC N15m bribe and burnt of Kano REC with his family when he wanted to expose electoral fraud. If our foreign observers could be totally blind to underage voting in the North but used microscope to demonise Rivers. If Tribunal only saw something wrong in 21 of State Constituencies in Rivers then why outright cancellation of Governorship poll that was held same day Or why has rerun not adjudged in Ogun and Oyo State where hundreds of polling units descended from moon on election day?

We are still wondering why some gullible people in this region are still following their misguided political princes. These are princes fighting to become Vice-President to EL-RUFAI in 2019 and later to be President in 2023.

A word is enough for the wise. South-Southerners, it is over to you to decide.

AMAECHI: A RISK NOT WORTH TAKING

It will be highly disastrous for anyone to buy into Rotimi Amaechi idea at this moment. Truly, it was a disgraceful show for him as a Director of APC Presidential Campaign in the last general election to lose at home twice. However, his back-door approach to redeem his political loss ego before his paymaster will only fall flat.

Just to set the record straight, Amaechi exit from PDP has never be for the sake of people of Rivers State. His migration was based on self aggrandisement and political elevation. It was when his ambition to be Vice-President under PDP was dimmed by Goodluck Jonathan who ran for another term.

Amaechi traded with N50billion bonds he took on behalf of his State after being promised Vice President slot. Not only did treasury of Rivers State was drained to nil governance also stood still for since Amaechi found new love in APC. Surprisingly, he claimed saving N1billion monthly but boasted to leave empty treasury after 8years.

Truly, in politics, stupidity is not a handicap according to Napoleon Bonaparte. If not Amaechi would not have been singing upland/coastland dichotomy when he was once a beneficiary of its non-existence.

Parts of his misgovernance were locked down of judiciary and legislative arms, abandoned monorail and other projects with contractors and civil servant entitlements remained unpaid. All these can be attributed to gap created by Amaechi while spearheading APC Presidential campaign train even to outside the shore of Nigeria.

If N50billion only earned Rivers just a Ministerial seat then Amaechi's stock is not worth buying.

It is on this note we are calling on all good people of Rivers State to make the right choice. As for Amaechi and APC that are using Federal might through Judiciary and Security apparatus to subvert the will of the masses at will, time will soon tell.

Also, let us remind Amaechi and his co-travellers that we are in democracy not militocracy they are foisting on us.

THE GOOD PEOPLE OF RIVERS STATE MUST NOT MAKE MISTAKE.

It will be improper for anyone with right conscience to be surprised with Tribunal verdict on Rivers State governorship election. We have seen the handwriting of perversion on the wall of justice since day one of APC led government.

From replacement of tribunal chairman to relocation of judgement throne to Abuja, followed by infiltration of tribunal business by DSS. So APC has demonstrated again her backdoor stealing of mandate acumen on this occasion. This is an attribute APC inherited from ACN. It will be insane for anyone to believe PDP can win Kano or Katsina in last gubernatorial election and same goes for APC to win Rivers or Akwa-Ibom.

The last April election was characterised by ethno-regional sentiments due to aftermath of presidential election's result. It was an event that pitched South South and South East against other four zones. In fact, Electorates went on tribal revenge with no consideration for scorecards of political parties.

After our critical understudy of recent election tribunals outcomes, we have deduced the following;
- Surprisingly, INEC is now having two principles, for a tribunal to disown card readers as solely database in Lagos/ Ogun and another to accept it in Rivers spelt a doom.

- Since inception of Fourth Republic in 1999, we have not had outright cancellation of gubernatorial polls. Thus, it seems this teleguided Tribunal is telling us INEC outing was not capable as adjudged in the last general election.

- For a tribunal to uphold an election with N15million bribe of REC in Yobe State while another used a preconceived justice in Rivers is a double standard.

- For APC and her foreign observers to applaud overwhelming underage voting in the North against pocket of violence in Rivers, is nothing but a fraud.

-It is now clear to all that APC want to reward Amaechi by ruling Rivers by proxy. This is because ministerial seat will not be enough for his political stewardship of funding Buhari's campaign with N50billion bond that he took on behalf of his State.

-Is preparation to hand over power to EL-RUFAI in 2019 now reason for three major States to be in the camp of APC, this arrangement will only lead electorates to servitude since there won't be strong opposition.

To our dear Riverians, Amaechi is not fighting for you at all. He was Speaker for 8 years and Governor for same length, so he must not continue by proxy. He claimed saving N1billion monthly for 8years as Governor but left you with empty treasury. His ambition to be Vice-President in 2019 is why he needs your treasury than before.

If Lagos developed under opposition, then his antics of align you to Federal government does not worth buying. Also, his zoning anthem of coastland/upland is a big scam to bring you to his servitude, don't let him flimflam you.

Lastly, this war is not APC against PDP only but North and Southwest against YOU. Therefore, look before you leap and don't allow Rivers to join Kano and Lagos in hand of ruling party, so as to save Nigeria project.

Politics / Re: Rivers Governorship Rerun: A Golden Opportunity To Shut The Mouth Of APC by BestGovernance(f): 8:04pm On Oct 24, 2015
TonyeBarcanista:
The verdict of the Rivers state election petition tribunal that nullified the April 11 Electoral victory of PDP and Governor Nyesome Wike and ordered for a rerun should not in any way cause sadness in the camp of the good people of Rivers state and members of the PDP.

Though unfortunate and unexpected, the forthcoming re-run election presents another opportunity for Rivers people to tell APC and their praise-singers that the PDP is the only political party known in Rivers state. The PDP has also been presented a golden opportunity to reaffirm that Rivers state is the party's undisputed Political Capital of Southern Nigeria.

Rivers state shall remind the APC with our votes that we believe in the leadership of Nyesome Wike and the PDP. The APC shall be told once again that Rivers people will never vote for a party that shut down our judiciary and our State House of Assembly for over TWO years under the inglorious and painful administration of Rotimi Amaechi. APC will understand through the thumb-print of Rivers people that Riverians will not be cowed to submit to a party that uphold the 97% and 5% principles. APC will learn the hard way that Rivers state is determined to return them to the dust-bin of history.

PDP fans, members and supporters should see the gain in all these and start mobilising for 100% Wike's victory at the rerun poll. Of a truth, the re-run will once again shut the mouth of APC propagandists in Aso rock, Daura and Bourdillon.

Finally, I want to advice APC and Dakuku Peterside to stop wasting their looted funds on a goose chase. They should be more concerned with the present power they hold in Aso Rock because we are coming to reclaim it through the votes of patriotic Nigerians in 2019. Rivers is PDP and PDP is Rivers. God Sparing our lives, we shall meet at the poll.

Politics / Re: The Era Of "Prosecute Your Own Thief, Leave Mine For Me" by BestGovernance(f): 10:55pm On Oct 19, 2015
TonyeBarcanista:
Nigeria is a very unique country with her way of doing things. We all agree that corruption is one of the biggest clog in the wheel of our progress. We all complain on how elected and appointed politicians and civil servants steal our common wealth. It is a consensus that billions of dollars borrowed on "our behalf" by people on authorities at all levels. Despite all these, we have degenerated into the level of "investigate, arrest and prosecute your own thief but leave mine alone". How did we get this low?

Olusegun Obasanjo Era: "Prosecute Them All"
Before the return of democracy in 1999, corruption was like a norm in Nigeria. It denied Nigerians social amenities and put the masses in abject poverty. The coming of EFCC and ICPC to try corruption, bribery and other economic crimes in 2003 brought a sigh of relief to Nigerians. Nigerians always celebrate whenever a BIG fish is arrested by former EFCC Chairman Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. Among the top shots that fell to EFCC/ICPC hammer are exMinister Fabian Osuji, ex-Senate President Adolphus Wabara, ex-IGP Tafa Balogun, ex-Gov late Diepreye Alamesiegha, several senators etc. In addition, major top-shots like ex-VP Atiku Abubakar, ex-Chairman of NPA Olabode George(who as at that time was the PDP Deputy National Chairman, South), 33 state governors etc were indicted by the EFCC under the Obasanjo administration. Not even the excuse of Alhaji Garba Shehu, the spokesman for Atiku Abubakar's accusation that the old Ota farmer was getting back at Atiku and other 'perceived' enemies because of the failed third term bid could sail through. Neither did Nigerians take any sermon of political 'witch-hunt' as valid defence. We all wanted people to be brought to book.

Though Nigerians commended Obasanjo's fight, the accusation of selective prosecution was prominent in the socio-political space. Specifically, Obasanjo repeatedly shielded Olabode George from prosecution despite the indictment against him since 2003. The song on the lips of Nigerians was "prosecute them all"

Umaru Yar'adua Era: "Stop shielding corrupt elite, prosecute them all"
When Yar'adua took over office, he was expected to allow the EFCC prosecute the outgoing Vice President Atiku Abubakar and all corrupt governors that were indicted while in office having lost their immunity. Alas, Yar'adua introduced the 'plea bargain' that allows a man that steals billions to bargain and surrender a few millions in exchange. For instance, ex-Edo state Governor Lucky Nosakhare Igbenedion was indicted by Ribadu-led EFCC of looting $24million of Edo state fund, he was convicted by court under plea bargain and was asked to pay a meagre N3.5million. Yar'adua also appointed Michael Aandooaka, the defence counsel to James Ibori, George Akume etc as Attorney-General of the Federation. The administration moved to remove Mallam Nuhu Ribadu from his position as EFCC boss and whittled down the prosecution powers of EFCC, ICPC and CCB. Nigerians wailed and cried that corruption is being rewarded while anti-corruption punished. Yar'adua also nominated and appointed Senator Adamu Aliero, a former governor of Kebbi state and then serving senator as FCT minister. Aliero was indicted by the EFCC for corruption.
Our call through out the administration was "Stop shielding corrupt elite, prosecute them all"

Goodluck Jonathan Era: "Stop Institutionalising Corruption"
Although, credit to Jonathan that he was keen on separating the Yams from the Goats(according to his famous Goat and Yam theory). He signed the Freedom of Information bill into law, introduced policies that encourage transparency, but he failed to pursue cases against 'Goats' that ate 'yams' before and during his administration, especially his appointees. Those that were indicted in subsidy investigation and those that focused their attention on public resources were given freehand. For instance, Abdulrasheed Maina, was appointed as Chairman of Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform was indicted by the Senate over allegation that he looted N193billion of pensioners money, yet it took consistent wailing from Nigerians before Jonathan bothered to remove him from office. He wasn't prosecuted. Similar case was that of Stella Oduah who was indicted for N260million car saga. Though we have to credit Jonathan's government for indicting Sule Lamido and Murtala Nyako. Under Jonathan, corruption technically became 'Institutionalised'. Nigerians cry became "stop institutionalising corruption"

Muhammadu Buhari Era: "Prosecute Your Own Thief, Leave Mine For Me"
Buhari was elected on the platform of change mantra. Apart from the usual "Sai Baba" crew, there are people that thumb-printed for Buhari and APC did so on the premise of fighting corruption. Just two days on taking office, Buhari government withdrew the ongoing corruption case against Timpre Sylva and now rewarded him with party ticket for Bayelsa election. Pa Audu Abubakar only recently promised to return the monies he stole when he was in government. The EFCC has deliberately refused to work on the petitions against ex-Govs Rotimi Amaechi, Raji Fashola etc. In fact, the infamous N78million for 'website' and N128million appropriated just for TWO boreholes by Raji Fashola is being treated with levity. We all know that CONTRACT INFLATION is a crime according to EFCC Act. In fact, one of the charges against Olabode George was contract inflation. Despite his glaring hypocrisy, the President must be credited for the ongoing prosecution of Senator Bukola Saraki and the invitation of some ex-governors by the EFCC. Unlike during the Obasanjo era when people celebrate when someone is arrested for financial crimes, this era people first check the name of who's arrested, his party and then decide whether or not to shout 'Sai Baba' or to cry 'witch hunt'. In fact, APC fans will justify rewarding their corrupt chieftains with federal appointments. Some PDP fans and Chieftains will cry dictatorship and witch-hunt when the axe falls on PDP Chieftains irrespective of the merit of the case. It is now a talk of "prosecute your own thief but leave mine alone".

It is shameful and unpatriotic that people no longer pay heed to the financial crimes of officials. They forget that there is no honor in trying to shield the same people that looted our common wealth from facing their crimes. It is more disappointing that the Buhari-led administration is leading the charge in this new trend of prosecute their thieves but reward our own.

THE 2 IDIOTS IN OUR POLITICAL SPHERE

For those familiar with Indian movies, the popular movie titled "3 IDIOTS" might quickly come back to your minds about this caption. It was an educating and career building movie but this piece is a slight departure from it.

According to Malcolm X, "you are not to be so blind with patriotism, that you can't face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it or says it". It is on this premise, we are saying that double standard has become a norm in our political space. In most cases, we dance to tunes that suit our course without minding our conscience.

In fact, today politics has fully accommodated different ethical rules that will do us more harms than good. It is disheartening that our nation is now pride by two groups of idiots with each group misleading innocent Nigerians at will.

Let us examine few instances to buttress our point.

When Tambuwal became Speaker through alliance with opposition, a group called it democracy while other got furious. But same group that called it democracy then was quick to tagged Saraki's emergence as Senate President as unholy alliance and disregard to party supremacy while other group tagged it democracy.

When GEJ was after Muritala Nyako, former Governor of Adamawa State, a group called it witch hunting and other group claimed it as a good note to fight corruption. But same group that was crying witch hunting is now claiming Sule Lamido's case is fight against corruption while other group remain vice versa.

When Fayose was given gubernatorial ticket in Ekiti, a group called it lack of moral decency that will promote corruption while the other side claimed until court prove him guilty. Surprisingly, same group advocating decency was glorious to hand over same ticket to two men blessed with corrupt cases.

When GEJ was after Saraki, same group that called it witch hunting is now the hunter of same prey.

When Oduah gate of N260m for 2 bullet proof jeeps was hovering, a group called for her head and other said court has not proved it. But same group shouting transparency then is now applauding N78m website builder and monorail sky builder as Ministers while other group is saying no.

When DSS invaded a party's database office under GEJ, a group condemned it and tagged DSS as a political tool while other group supported it as good work. However, same group that tagged DSS as a political tool is turning deaf ears to invasions of Akwa-Ibom State house and tribunals affairs by DSS.

These are just few of scenarios playing out in our political theatre room and it seems many Nigerians are yet to know who is fooling who. If we continue playing different ethical rules that suit our condition, our nation will remain on falsehood.

We hereby advise supporters of these groups, most especially their e-soldiers, to put this nation above self interest.

AS OUR MINISTERS PUT ON WHITE ROBES

It is no more news that Buhari's cabinet is about to start business after much ado. To be candid, any nation in our current economy coma does not need such decades of days to have sailors that will sail policies not only to resuscitate but fulfil change mantra.

From their nomination to screening and confirmation, there is no difference from what we have had in time past. In fact, it is all about rewarding political stewardship, political calculus and power recycling. Apart from some that are blessed with baggages of alleged corruption, women representation is 16% unlike 32% in immediate past administration and for the youth they will need to wait for the future.

Nevertheless, it is solely a prerogative of Mr President to pick whom he deems fit to work it and we have no choice than to live with it. He has overlooked their sins and tagged them saints instead of demons. So, we join Nigerians to congratulate them with the same mission statement that they should go and sin no more. They should not brag on self righteousness but guide with all diligence the political righteousness imputed on them.

They should eschew photoshopping and cosmetics governance as Nigerians are now wiser than before. In fact, Nigerians are awaiting their magic wands to bring change as promised.

Also, they should not follow Fashola's response to website saga as all bucks will end on their desks. His response at the screening was a minus to his credentials and political insult to our collective reasoning. May be we should school him as a SAN that responsibility of any authority delegated rest on shoulder of the principal, according to law of contract. Likewise Fayemi's response to government house should not be embraced. Akwa-Ibom receives highest shares of Federal Allocation while Ekiti is among the bottom-5. So, it is better to cut coat according to size of the cloth in all their dealings.

Also, they should beware of media outfits that will be singing their praises solely for brown envelope. As Nigerians have placed before them either to serve their party and pockets or the entire nation, GGA will not relent in painting their stewardships publicly.

Finally, they should not allow the President to make them noisemakers as he earlier asserted but good governance makers.

#1. Buhari's integrity lack sincerity for joining commonwealth robbers to gain Aso seat. After 12years of no result, Buhari knew without these national treasury robbers he cannot be President. So for joining same people he once referred to as corrupt made him unfit to probe anyone.

#2. Buhari rescinded his stand about anti-corruption during campaign when it was perceived that some owners of yam and knife called Nigeria were not blessing his ambition. He said then that his probing will start from what happen from day 1 of his government not past. What an unstable manner.

#3. For Buhari to look the other way on alleged corruption cases levelled against Amaechi and Fashola shows his practising a different ethical rule.

#4. As long as Buhari is turning deaf ears to DSS political invasion and excesses which they never denied...

#5. If wife of president is still different from first lady in his dictionary, yet Aisha is busy spending as NGO.

#6. Up till now Buhari has not uttered a word on returned stolen fund El-Rufai reported. Whether it was true or not.

#7. For Buhari to quickly forget that his campaign funds came from treasury of some States. Sorry he has rewarded them with ministerial appointments

#8. The acting INEC chairperson is a product of nepotism with another retired soldier as overseer of NCS yet Buhari sees it as good omens.

#9. He embraced withdrawal of corruption case of Sylva and blessed him with Guber ticket. Same as his Kogi brother

#10. When will Nigerians get back $2.8billion and N22billion that entered thin air under Buhari's watch as Minister of Petroleum and Chairman of Petroleum Trust Fund.

Please when Nigerians are ready for good governance they should let us know.

Politics / Ekiti Airport: Another Miscarriage Of Priority by BestGovernance(f): 6:24am On Oct 09, 2015
Ekiti Airport: Another Miscarriage of Priority.

It is quite disheartening that politicians in our clime don't weigh long term impact of projects on the governed before bringing out shovel. This act has not only contributing to abandoned projects littered all over the country but eventually lead to wastage of public funds.

It is on this singular note that we are x-raying Ekiti proposed Airport to the public. Truly, there is nothing bad if all the 36 States have airport but it will be a recurrent decimal if we keep building Airport based on politics instead of economy value. All politicians are after is having their names written in gold for projects without considering its essence. Records have shown it that only 4 out of 22 Airports under the auspices of FAAN contribute 70% of generated revenue in the last five years. In fact, we have some that cost of maintaining them is far more than their returns.

For instance, what benefit is to government and her people when an airport barely generates N10million and takes N70million for maintenance after spending billions of naira for its construction. This has been story of many airports in Nigeria as many don't even have travelling schedules for three months. They are mainly utilised by politicians and government officials with little or no commercial gain. Since Jigawa airport has been commissioned last year, how many flight schedules have taken place, aside political campaign train and Hajj.

With Ibadan, Akure, Ilorin and others struggling to survive where will Ekiti stand. Even Osun and Ogun are also planing to join the trend. It seems our leaders are not living with economy reality as some of these States barely pay workers salaries at due date. Therefore, putting themselves in shoes of Akwa-Ibom and Jigawa who built theirs when oil price was its peak will remain a fantasy.

Without mincing words, commercial viability of an airport is hinged on factors such as traffic flows, accessibility, nature(cargo/people) and capacity. Thus Ekiti airport will just be an aesthetic project as it is not only unviable but unripe for air travelling business. It is unviable as a result of traffic and proximity to Akure. It is unripe because revenue is not in surplus term. Lastly, it cannot be a cargo airport as no agricultural produce or other production taking place in the State unless it want to be another dumping ground for imported goods.

Our advice to Mr Fayose is to have a rethink on this project, as spending one-fifth of his state annual budget will spell doom for other sectors. If Ekiti, an agrarian State can invest N17billion into agricultural sector or textile that is in moribund, it will not only yield bumper revenue but reduce dependence on Federal Allocation and generate employment opportunities. Also, Ekiti State is blessed with many gem stones that can be utilised to industrialise the State instead of this white elephant project.

However, if Mr Fayose is not ready to yield to our advice he should use his personal money to build a private airport in his State not the State fund.

Politics / Unveiling 21 Political Archangels Of Buhari's Cabinet by BestGovernance(f): 6:54am On Oct 07, 2015
Unveiling 21 Political Archangels of Buhari's Cabinet.

As the long awaited President Buhari’s ministerial nominees was unveiled on Tuesday 6th October, 2015 by Senate President Bukola Saraki, it was not unexpected to us here at Good Governance Advocates.

For a national journey of 125days that has cost our economy so much due to lack of direction and indecisiveness of current government policies to yield this kind of output raises more questions than answers. In fact, the reason for staying too long is yet unknown to the public. If this is what tagged as technocrats, unquestionable characters, sanctimonious, corrupt free-entities and political angels then APC is absolutely synonymous to PDP.

The list is more of appreciating Buhari's acolytes in his political wilderness than what Nigerians expected as a custom practised by PDP. When a candidate fails to win at the poll or fund campaign is stewardship is usually reward by appointment. As asserted by Buhari during his last press briefing with BBC hausa. Just to paraphrase, Buhari said he will reward his foot-soldiers in politics. May be Buhari is one of good listeners of Late Fela's song; 'Na padi padi government dey Nigeria, yeparipa o, egba wa o". If not he would have changed the status quo.

This list comprises of same political currencies we have been spending in seats of power before. They are mainly political sons and daughters groomed by PDP.

Just relax and go through the political Archangels below;

Audu Ogbeh

Buhari’s ministerial nominee from Benue State, Audu Ogbeh was a lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria in 1972; Deputy Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly, 1979; Federal Minister of Communications in 1982 and National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2001. He was unceremoniously removed by OBJ for supporting Atiku's ambition. The late Dr. Olusola Saraki was in the Senate as Senate Leader that screened Audu Ogbeh in 1982 (33 years ago) for a ministerial appointment. Saraki’s son, Bukola will now screen him again for a ministerial appointment as President of the Senate in 2015. Truly the young shall grow.

Lt. General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd)

Buhari’s ministerial nominee from Kano State, Lt. General Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd) was the Chief of Army Staff under the late President Umar Musa Yar’Adua and played a key role in the Turai Yar’ Adua coup d’etat that smuggled the ailing President back into the country from his treatment overseas. He was formerly purported as National Security Adviser.

Chris Ngige

In 2003, Chris Ngige emerged governor of Anambra State through electoral fraud orchestrated by OBJ and Audu Ogbeh. In August 2005, an election Tribunal led by Justice Nabaruma nullified Ngige’s 2003 victory. He appealed to the Nigerian Federal Court of Appeal, but the annulment was confirmed on 15 March 2006, in a judgment awarding victory to Peter Obi of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Ngige’s tenure as governor of Anambra State was marred by controversies, one of the most famed of which was the Okija shrine scandal which involved an alleged oath between Ngige and his former political godfather Chris Uba in the shrine. Let us remind you of his abduction as a sitting governor.

Sulaiman Husaini Adamu

Buhari’s Jigawa State ministerial nominee, Sulaiman Husaini Adamu is a younger brother to the Acting INEC Boss, Amina Bala Zakari (nee Husaini Adamu). Zakari’s appointment by Buhari has come under fire from Nigeria’s opposition who said the appointment is her reward as a close Buhari family member and her role in compromising the March 28 presidential election in favour of Buhari.

Udoma Udo-Udoma

President Buhari’s alleged N2.1 billion Asokoro-Abuja mansion sits on number 9, Udoma Udo-Udoma Crecsenct named after Buhari’s Akwa-Ibom State ministerial nominee, Udo-Udoma. He has been rejected by APC chapter in his State for being a two term Senator on PDP platform.

Osagie Ehanire

Buhari’s Edo State ministerial nominee, Osagie Ehanire served as the Edo State Coordinator of Muhammadu Buhari 2015 Campaign Organisation.

Kemi Adeosun

Buhari’s Ogun State ministerial nominee, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun was a senior manager at the Price Waterhouse Coopers, London and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, England and Wales. She is popularly referred to as “the Diezani of Ogun State" when serving as Finance Commissioner in the first coming of Amosun. Her emergence came as a result of political miscalculation from OBJ and TINUBU.

Rotimi Amaechi

The political lion of South-South, popularly known as the “ATM machine” of the Buhari presidential campaign, Rotimi Amaechi is Buhari’s Rivers State ministerial nominee. His tenure as Governor of Rivers state was characterized with allegations of lawlessness, government waste, corruption and incompetence. One of it, was N50billion bond he raised for his State to fund Buhari's campaign.
As an Apostle of commonsense revolution, he promised to keep stealing public fund if we refuse to stone him.

Adebayo Shittu

Buhari’s Oyo State ministerial nominee, Adebayo Shittu was a member of Buhari’s defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). The Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected his nomination calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to revisit his nomination. However, his nomination was hinged on his travails with Buhari in defunct CPC.

Chief Ogbonnaya Onu

Buhari’s Abia State ministerial nominee, the 63 year old Chief Ogbonnaya Onu was former Governor of Old Abia State. Onu was National Chairman of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) before it was absorbed into the APC in February 2013.

Babatunde Fashola, SAN

Lagos State ministerial nominee Babatunde Fashola SAN is the competence and performance poster boy of the ruling APC government. He recently made news headlines after his successor leak on how as governor, he spent over N78million of Lagos State funds in designing his personal website. He was also alleged of over bloated projects like boreholes and road.

Ahmed Isa Ibeto

Buhari’s ministerial nominee from Niger State, Ahmed Isa Ibeto was the deputy governor of the state under the PDP led government of Babangida Aliyu. He decamped to the APC when he failed to secure the PDP’s gubernatorial ticket.

Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan

Buhari’s ministerial nominee from Taraba State, Mrs. Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan joined the PDP in 2005 and later elected as Senator. He decamped in 2014 to APC where she contested as Gubernatorial candidate in April 2015. APC released fake result that she won the keenly contested election before INEC announcement and later headed to Tribunal. We are surprised that APC has come to reality that she did not win the election.

Solomon Dalong

Buhari’s Plateau State ministerial nominee Solomon Dalong joined the Prisons Service as a Prison Assistant and rose to the rank of Assistant Inspector of Prisons. Following his training as an attorney, he was moved to the legal department of prisons where he served as Legal Officer II in the prisons headquarters prior to retirement. He was a member of President Buhari’s transition committee.

Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu

The ministerial nominee from Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, is the new Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). He is the Odogwu of Onicha Ugbo in Aniocha North LGA Of Delta State.

Hadi Sariki

Hadi Sariki, an ex-pilot, is Buhari’s ministerial nominee from Katsina State. He is a former Senator representing Katsina North Senatorial District under the platform of Buhari’s defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

Kayode Fayemi

Kayode Fayemi, a former Governor of Ekiti State under the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), is Buhari’s ministerial nominee from Ekiti State. He was voted out of office by the people of Ekiti State in 2014 after serving four years as governor of the state. He was also alleged of spending N50million on bed while in office as Governor.

Amina Mohammed

Kaduna State ministerial nominne, Amina Mohammed previously worked as senior adviser to the President of Nigeria on Millennium Development Goals for six years. Her nomination has been rejected by a Kaduna State based NGO over claims that she is from Gombe State.

Abubakar Malami, SAN

Abubakar Malami SAN is Buhari’s ministerial nominee from Kebbi State. A Buhari loyalist, he was one of those who worked closely to advance the interest of the opposition especially that of President Mohammadu Buhari over the years. He was the Lead Counsel of the Legal Team of Buhari’s defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

Alhaji Lai Mohammed

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, is Buhari’s Kwara State ministerial nominee and spokesperson of Buhari’s All Progressives Congress (APC). He is the brain behind APC’s fraudulent campaign promises including the “one meal a day” campaign, which Buhari disowned after his election. Lai is blessed with numerical dialysis.

Ibrahim Usman Jibril

After several Google searches, as at the time of this report, no concrete information was available on Buhari’s Nassarawa State ministerial nominee Ibrahim Usman Jibril.

Please join us to welcome our newly appointed noisemakers.

Politics / We Never Spent Billions On Independence Anniversary- Jonathan by BestGovernance(f): 4:53pm On Oct 04, 2015
We never spent billions on independence
anniversary-Jonathan

We were taken aback by the recent comment
reportedly credited to His Excellency, Governor
Nasir El-rufai where he claimed that the
immediate past President, His Excellency, Dr.
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s administration spent
N64billion to cover the country independence
anniversary spending in five years.

The break down, according to the governor
showed that N13billion was spent in 2011,
N15billion in 2012 and N14billion in 2013 and
N22billion allegedly spent in 2014.
This tissue of lies was contained on his facebook
comment on Thursday.

Ordinarily, we would have allowed this to go as
just ranting of a favour seeker , but for the sake
of ordinary Nigerians who were abreast of
happenings under the administration and also
those who never did, we will like to set the record straight.
It is important to correct the misinformation so
that the unsuspecting public would not be misled.

For the record, a breakdown of our anniversary
spending between 2012 to 2014 amounted to
N332.6million. We challenge the Office of the
Government of the Federation( OSGF) to publish
these details for the consumption of the public.
For the record, a breakdown of our spending for
this event between 2012 and 2104 goes thus;
2012-107.6million; 2013-45million and 2014 had 180million due to Centenary involvement.

So, the question here is where did the billions as claimed by el-rufai emanate from?
Even though that of 2010 and 2011 are not handy now, but it should be known that they all fall within the same bracket as the one stated, except that the 2010 anniversary was a golden one when the country marked her 50 year of independence.
But even then , not such outrageous sum was
either budgeted or expended.
Again, it is germane to explain the increase in the 2013 anniversary spending for the purpose of accountability. The National Honours Award
Investiture was incorporated into the celebration, thus making it two events in one, hence the N174,800,000.00 budget.
We also want to add that the said award
investiture could not hold in 2013 and the
approved budget rolled over and was utilized to
organise the investiture in 2014.
It is high time government functionaries desist from abusing their immunity by destroying history and trading on lies just to gain cheap popularity or curry one favour or the other from certain quarters.

Perhaps President Olusegun Obasanjo was right in. his assessment of el-rufai when he said in his
latest memoir, My Watch that his vivid
recollection of him (el rufai)is his penchant for
lying, for unfair embellishment of stories and his inability to sustain loyalty for long.

That exactly is what el-rufai has done with his
ungodly fabrication of lies against Jonathan
government.
One hopes that President Buhari would be on
guard against being misled by the likes of el-rufai who are hell bent on misinforming the Nigerian public.

Nigeria @ 55: A Nation Without Definition

Since Nigeria came to existence in January 1914 and later became independence in October 1st, 1960, it has been a journey undefined since then. Many tagged it as a false marriage of hundreds of ethnicity couple with pluralism of religions.

It is a forceful cohabitation where everybody mind his or her clan. We keep passing buck to colonial masters and fanning embers of marginalisation. Today, Hausa man will identify other tribes as Yoruba or Igbo not as co-citizens, likewise a Yoruba or Igbo man will do same.

Though we have few steps to point as progress but are we at same pace with countries that we had independence at same period. Even those who came after us have left us far behind.

How can a nation lack national goals. When purpose is undefined then destination remains unclear. If you don't know your count how can you plan effectively. When a nation has no goal it will end up having abandoned projects litter on her land. Even policies will be inconsistent.

After 55 years, we don't know the count of people living in our country. Nigerian leaders have been recycling power from Khaki to Agbada. A nation that was major exporter of agricultural produce; groundnut, cocoa, palm oil, rubber in the 1960s is now major importers of food items. A nation that discovered oil in 1956 is yet to know how best to refine it to meet demand of her populace.

A nation where 5hours supply of electricity is appraised as miracle when South Africa with population of 60million is enjoying 40,000MW. Today, our national grid is still 7500MW installed capacity with generation, transmission and distribution hovering below 4500MW.

All these are just few instances of our toddling as a toddler at 55.

Let us ask our leaders who have been occupying seats of power since 1960 till date these questions.
If Nigeria is their personal project would they have been doing it same way? If they assign managers to their companies are they going to be happy if their treasury were looted the same way they have done or are doing to our patrimony?

However, all efforts to renegotiate our coexistence have never yielded good result yet we keep saying we should remain indivisible as enshrined in 1999 constitution. So for how long are we going to continue in same ship that has no definite destination.

Until we stop feeding bottle federalism, our nation will remain as a toddler.
If we don't remove state of origin from our constitution, embers of ethnicity will remain at front burner of marginalisation.
Also, if we don't harness are natural and human potentials to fullness our nationhood will remain in coma.

To wrap it up here, today's speech made by President Buhari was not different from what have been drumming to our ears since 1960. Our leaders will raise our hope and dash it in a twinkle of an eye. May be it is new to those e-politicians on social media that came to political landscape in 2014. Therefore, let there be fairness at all spheres.

Happy Independence Day

Politics / Buhari And His Eleventh Hour Approach by BestGovernance(f): 8:48am On Oct 01, 2015
BUHARI AND HIS ELEVENTH HOUR APPROACH

According to Albert Einstein, "whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters". We cannot but advise our able President on setting feasible deadlines for sensitive issues that are have ripples effects on the governed. Yesterday, 30th September, 2015 made it 4months 5days when Buhari was sworn in as President of Federal Republic of Nigeria. It also made it 6months he was declared winner at the Presidential poll.

Therefore, for a man who toiled for 12years to serve his nation at the highest seat, many have expected him to know his onions. Before swearing-in, we were told they will hit the ground running but later x-ray to us that the mess is overwhelming.

When asset declaration came to front burner, they told us on or before 100days as CCB will first perform its role. At a point it was denied and tagged as APC manifesto not Buhari. Surprisingly, they reeled out to us at eleventh hour in a manner that made it inconclusive.

Cabinet or no cabinet, Buhari's style of charity begins abroad made it clear to us that his noisemakers cabinet would be ready by September 30. Even as at afternoon of same day, Presidency still vowed that it is not yet midnight. May be we need to school our President and his co-travellers that there is a wide gap between a ready cabinet and a list yet to be screened. To make it worse, the sent list is incomplete as remaining noisemakers will be added on or before 6th October, 2015.

Our questions are very simple; are these deadlines not well thought out? or is our President succumbing to pressure? or is eleventh hour part of change mantra? or are there some factors undermining our President's effort to meet those deadlines?

To this end, we will implore our able President to take cognisance of little foxes that are eroding his integrity in the vineyard of governance. This is not for him alone but for Nigeria not to be turned to a laughing stock in the commity of nations.

Politics / 55th Independence Anniversary And The New Sherif by BestGovernance(f): 7:16am On Oct 01, 2015
Before president Buhari address nigerians today on the occasion of our 55th independence, It is very important that we re- orientate ourselves based on the deceitful change the president and APC had promised Nigerians earlier.

Fellow nigerians,

To God be the glory as nigeria celebrate her 55th independence
We also thank God for the success of the March/April election which mark the end of 16 democratic year for the PDP.

Expectation was very high that on resumption to office of the president, the president elect will provide, adequate security, poverty alleviation scheme, entrepreneurship programs, creating new jobs, restoring ajaokuta steel plant, health programs, feeding allowances, increment of NYSC allowance and many more but the reverse is the case as the presidency denied that it was APC manifesto and not BUHARI manifesto.

Anti-coruption war as been the main project of this tenure, we can't pinpoint something new in this administation, criminals chasing criminals ,looters chasing looters, which is causing recess in our democratic affairs. As we step into a new year in the nigeria calendar, the president should focus on achieving campaign promises and not distracting nigerians with the corruption war.

Boko haram has been fighting our dear country over six years, the northern brothers believed that if buhari should emerge with his experience has a military man there would be a better solution, not only to find that the president missing at the UN meetings on terrorism

Based on the appointment of the president so far, it's obvious that the president has no respect for federal character, appointing his northern brothers and neglecting other regions of the country, this action by the president may lead to ethnic war.

Our biafra brothers are still not happy with this administration as we all believe in one nigeria, the president should not allow ethnicity/votes/political affiliation influence his decision for appointments and development of nigeria at large.

Nigerians are not fools, all hopes are high, the time is now for APC and president buhari to start working.
2019 is fast approaching.

God bless nigeria

Happy independence

Politics / Amosun Allegedly Stalls Blogger's Bail by BestGovernance(f): 6:39pm On Sep 29, 2015
Amosun allegedly stalls blogger's bail

Ogun governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun may have stalled bail granted a blogger, Emmanuel Ojo by a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Abeokuta.

Ojo was arrested by the Chief Security Officer to the Governor, Katib Bilamin on Saturday at Ibara in Abeokuta and detained till Tuesday when he charged to the court.

Ojo, who was slammed with 8-count charge bothering on libel and malicious publication against Mrs Olufunso Amosun was, however, granted bail by the Presiding Magistrate.

But by 4pm when Ojo's lawyers met the bail conditions, the Magistrate was said to have allegedly declined to sign the bail documents.

Indications that Amosun had been pestering the Magistrate not to grant the bail emerged during the proceeding when some people suspected to be his personal aides had wanted to give a note to the Magistrate which he did not receive. In fact, he was angry and shouted at them to allow him do his work.

Ojo was granted bail around 11am but by 4pm when all the conditions including two sureties with N1m each were met, the Magistrate seemed to have developed a cold feat and asked them to come back tomorrow.

Ojo, who had earlier heaved a sigh of relief was immediately whisked back to the prison.

Ojo's sin was his alleged involvement in the story of Mrs Olufunsho Amosun, who was allegedly quizzed by London Police for money laundering and being in possession of US300,000, the allegation which government has denied.

Informed sources said Amosun was not happy with the charges and had vowed to keep Ojo in prison even when he had been granted bail by a court of competent jurisdiction.

A Senior Lawyer who pleaded for anonymity described Amosun's action as a slap on the judiciary and depicts him as somebody who does not have respect for the rule of law.
Politics / Isiaka, Right Group Condemn Arrest Of Amosun's Critic, SF Emmanuel Ojo by BestGovernance(f): 10:55pm On Sep 27, 2015
Isiaka, Right groups condemn arrest of Amosun's critic, SF Emmanuel Ojo

The Campaign Organisation of the Ogun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNICO) and Centre for Media
Rights Advocates (CMRA) have condemned the arrest and detention of an Abuja-based blogger, Emmanuel Ojo by the police in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital at the weekend, acting on the instruction of Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
Ojo was said to have been trailed and arrested in a gestapo like by the Chief Security Officer of the governor who led some security agencies attached to Amosun at Ibara, Abeokuta and was detained at Ibara police station, few meters away from the Government House.

Isiaka who spoke through the Director of Publicity of his campaign organisation, Comrade Ifekayode Akinbode said Ojo was arrested for a story exposing the alleged
squeezing of Mrs Olufunso Amosun in London for money laundering.
The story was said to have been posted by a foreign-based blogger and pasted on Ojo's facebook wall by hackers suspected to be working with Ogun APC with intention to implicate Ojo.

Ojo had since denied knowledge of the story and made it known to the public that his facebook wall was hacked by his detractors working to silence him because of his hard stance on Amosun.
Mrs Amsoun who has since denied the story was alleged of being detained by London police for being in possession of US300,000.
Akinbode said since the day the story was found on Ojo's facebook walls that he had been haunted by Amosun thugs working in conjunction with police attached to the Government House.
He said, "It is unbecoming of Amosun who has been intolerant of opposition and critics to go after Ojo and frustrate all efforts to secure his bail since Saturday.
We know SF Ojo as a critic of prolifigacy and bad governance going on in Ogun State and it is sad to note that Amsoun would think nobody will criticize and make public his various lies. If Ojo's facebook was hacked
and the story of how Amsoun's wife was arrested for money laundering in London was pasted there and the government has denied it, why must Amosun's Chief
Security Officer still went after Ojo, harassed his wife and got him arrested.
The attempt is to silence his critics and send fears to journalists in the state to stop reporting anti-Amosun stories. But he has failed! Nobody in Ogun State needed
to be told the story of inflated projects that increased the state debt profile to over N200b. It is a common knowledge in Nigeria that Amosun is among the richest governors in Nigeria that refused to make public his
asset declaration despite the fact that his self- acclaimed mentor, President Muhammadu Buhari has declared his assets. It is a common knowledge that Amsoun is building the best personal house in Ogun
State that costs over N7b at Ibara Housing Estate in Abeokuta and we know his salary since he became governor in 2011.
"It is also laughable that Amosun who blackmailed his predecessor in office, Otunba Gbenga Daniel to the extent of using photoshop to superimpose Daniel's head
on Nollywood actor's body to give false impression about Daniel could go ahead to arrest a blogger over an harmless story his boys planted on Ojo's facebook walls to implicate him. But we want to assure Amosun that instead of being cowed, this is just the beginning of exposing many under-hand dealings many did not know about his government.
In its own reaction, CMRA demanded for the immediate release of Ojo and warned the police that they would be held responsible if anything happened to Ojo.
A statement signed yesterday by the Executive Director of the organisation, Dr Bidemi Adegbite condemned the gestapo approach of Amosun's Chief Security Officer in arresting Ojo who the police could have invited for questioning.
CMRA warned the police against being used by the politicians to infringe on the rights of Nigerians from freely expressing themselves.
The organisation also called on the Inspector General of police to order Ojo's release with immediate effect and warned police at Ogun State Command to desist from acting as a stooge to the All Progressive Congress
(APC).
Politics / Reasons Politicians In Nigeria Cannot Fight Corruption by BestGovernance(f): 9:40am On Sep 25, 2015
According to Napoleon Bonaparte that in politics, stupidity is not a handicap. It is on this premise that we are stating that Nigerians are yet to know their enemies. We hope at the end of this piece, our readers will be able to do justice to the question raised above.

Without any prevarication, politicians in our clime are bunch of heartless stakeholders who take delight in sucking treasury of this country to empty in daylight. They are all commonwealth robbers that have no iota of honesty as they are portraying. They play on our intelligence and insult our sensibility at will. They took loans that ended up in their pockets. In Nigeria, when a governor constructed 1km of road he has constructed 10km in his pocket. But for how long will this country continue to meander from reality of good governance.

We are not surprise, that the current anti-graft war will not be different from what we witnessed in the days of Olusegun Obasanjo. Except for those who want to look the other way, handwriting is already on the wall that this ongoing crusade will not only be half-hearted but selective for perceived political enemies.

We are not trying to back the wrong horse at this point, if PDP is bad then APC is worse and if PDP is corrupt then APC is a fraud. We have not changed our position that APC and PDP are just acronyms for same people who have brought down our national image to a sorry pass. Our facts do not need a rocket scientist to discern, as without those PDP bigwigs that joined APC either by proxy or shadow, Buhari would not have been dinning in Aso villa as President.

In fact, the chief commander in this war is not only lame with leprosy in the school of integrity but had sold out his conscience on several occasions. Who can imagine that Buhari could teamed up with same people he once referred to as corrupt politicians. If this is not hypocrisy then what should it be? Buhari knew that without joining these commonwealth robbers his quest to be President will remain a day dream.

May be we should ask him why he turned Obasanjo to political god and Tinubu to a political saviour. Has he forgot the man who built self library with N360millon from treasury of 36states and the founder of election of do or die affair?. Should we say it in Hausa for him to know the richest politician in Africa without elective post or appointment. The man who controls Lagos IGR through a proxy company, Alpha Beta and solely own all the continentals(from RC to TVC to hotel to Consat). May be we should sound to his ear that same man bought private jet leased out for his campaign and own stakes in Shoprite. We are talking of same man that spent dollars for delegates in APC presidential primary election.

Is Buhari looking the other way, that he cannot remember those Governors who took N50billion bond and $600million loan on behalf of their States to fund his campaign? May be some cases have expiry dates, if not Buhari should know that the man who donated N50million and 10 hummer buses to his campaign got it from Haliburton's loot.

With government institutions such as DSS violating the rule of law at will and Buhari turning deaf ear to commend or condemn their acts. If the man who acknowledged roles of social media in his odyssey to Aso villa is now clamping down his critics on same platform, then we should not doubt what to be expected in days to come.

Furthermore, is Buhari not aware of Lagos-Ibadan expressway's media outfits and Sahara reporter that specialise in demonise immediate past administration. Before May 29, 2015, Boko Haram attacks usually be at their front pages but now foreign media outfits usually report before such before them.

It is quite disheartening that it is only in this clime that prosecution of corrupt omen are hinged on political persecution. Even Buhari attested to this fact in the case of Sanusi Lamido VS GEJ. Also, Oyegun and APC asserted it in the cases of Nyako VS GEJ and Saraki VS GEJ. For Buhari to turn blind eyes to moral deficiency behind Sanusi Lamido running to court to stop investigating and prosecuting him raises question on kind of moral pedestal Buhari is standing on. In fact, it is not only morally bankrupt but an assault on sensibility of well meaning Nigerians.

Therefore, if Saraki is tagging his trial as political persecution, then we should not blame him as he got the clue from those icons above. What many Nigerians have failed to understand is that politicians are right by tagging their prosecutions as persecutions. This is not far fetch as they all know they are thieves sitting in corridors of power. Hence single them out as devil poses unfair treatment.

At this juncture, we will like to summarize stocks of prosecution on corrupt omen in our political landscape so far. We believed many can still remember Tafa Adebayo Balogun, an ex-IGP. His crucifixion was the most uncivilised and inhumane in this land and he linked it to Obasanjo. It was revealed that he purported to be Govenor of Osun State under AC and aligned to Atiku while PDP was still his paymaster.
Today, all his confiscated assets are still rotten in EFCC custody with recovered loot yet to be accounted for. His ordeal was followed by N55million bribe of Adolphus Wabara and Fabian Osuji which up till this hour nobody know its where about.

Another film was Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha who was purported to be Vice-President aspirant to Atiku for 2007. DPS still believes that he was persecuted as he was not the only Governor that used back to carry taxpayers money to the other side of the sea. Truly, others were caught but covered by Ebora Owu, they later used part of theirs to purchase buses for NURTW in their respective states. If Nigerians can still remember the era buses in South West. However, if DPS case did not involve foreign hands may be recovered loot would have been in same vein with Tafa Balogun.

Let us move to National ID card scam of S. M. Afolabi, one time Minister of Interior under Olusegun Obasanjo. He was hanged for supporting Atiku bid for president and later killed himself as reported. We know Atiku will still be fresh in our memory, but after the brouhaha was he jailed or was any asset or loot recovered.

Now to Mr GEJ, who persecuted Dimeji Bankole for not supporting his bid to be President but after the latter bowed to him what happen to the case. GEJ only remembered Nyako dirty linen when he migrated to APC.

Our questions are simple, if these people were in same political terms of reference would they have been prosecuted? If Saraki was APC candidate for Senate President, was this brouhaha would have come up? If Saraki decide to step down from his seat tomorrow will his case not be swept under carpet? If Fashola was not eyeing a seat at Federal level do we have heard N78 million website? Lastly, if this war is for the masses then where are all looted asset? Truly if it is not persecution then what it is.

To many who are thinking that 2019 is far, that is not true in the calendar of politicians, 2019 is nearer than tomorrow.

According to a former boss of EFCC, Nuhu Ribadu, "there are worse people than James Ibori in Nigeria. I think probably James was not the smartest one among them. There are some crooks worse than James, I still see them. Some of them are even been celebrated right now in the country".

We will like to pitch tent with Nuhu Ribadu submission that anti graft war in Nigeria is for those who crossed political lines, as those people parading as national saviours should have been in jail.

Finally, we will advise all political commentators to do their home work with all sincerity. APC should stop assaulting Nigerians’ sensibility by claiming some people have hijacked their change. If APC can withdraw corrupt case against Timipre Sylva and handover their Gubernatorial tickets to people with corrupt cases on their necks in Kogi and Bayelsa, then this claiming change is not only questionable but handicap. There is no change as long as Buhari is still dinning with same corrupt omen that brought us to where we are today.

Show me your friends and I will tell you the kind of person you are.

Politics / How Tinubu Has Plotted To Make His Wife Senate President by BestGovernance(f): 8:24am On Sep 24, 2015
How Tinubu has plotted to make his wife and Akume to be SP and DSP so as to control Buhari government;

IT is no more news that the current president of the senate is in trouble and might loose is position, the so-called jagaban has been making move to take total control of the upper and lower chambers. While other senators accompany the embattled senate president to the CCT, about 33 senators were given cash gift of $55,000 in the name of salah gift, but the reverse is the case as these money was meant to plan how to impeach the senate president(m.news24.com/nigeria/Politics/News/Senators-allegedly-offered-50-000-to-impeach-Saraki-20150922).

Yesterday the former governor of lagos state and APC chieftain bars all pro-saraki group from participating in a closed door meeting. If eventually the senate president is removed tinubu has planned to install is wife and loyalist to the DSP and SP to replace him(nationalmirroronline.net/new/apc-considers-akume-remi-tinubu-as-sarakis-replacement/).

As we all know that Tinubu so much believes in God fatherism and he want to turn nigerian into a business centre, also to frustrate president buhari on his appointment and administrations, tinubu hasn't been favoured with the kind of appointment the president is making and his also planning every means to impeach the President, if the President continues in his style.

Tinubu sold a dummy to APC, for a South West Senator to emerge as SP so as to balance power equation in the nation. He hinged this on argument raised by Nigerians on how Buhari and APC are northernizing Nigeria. He also made it known to them that Lawan can no more be SP since North East has taken Speaker.

However, a party stalwart disclosed that many stakeholders in the party frowned at Tinubu' s plot because his wife might emerge as SP if they should tow his path and this will be a trap to corner Buhari regime.

If the senate president should step down today, the senators should vote out any person presented by this impostor(tinubu) if they really know what is good for our democracy.

God bless nigeria!

Politics / REASONS POLITICIANS CANNOT FIGHT CORRUPTION? by BestGovernance(f): 7:59am On Sep 24, 2015

Our
facts do not need a rocket scientist to discern, as without those PDP bigwigs that joined APC either by proxy or shadow, Buhari would not have been dinning in Aso villa as President.

Politics / The Trial Of Brother Sara-jero by BestGovernance(f): 3:42pm On Sep 19, 2015
THE TRIAL OF BROTHER SARA-JERO

There is a Sara-Jero who lives in his father's village for some years and became prominent among his colleagues. As a Prince who dreamed to be a King one day, he was deceived by his brother's enemies that they will assist him to ascend throne without normal procedures. They gave him conditions to leave his father's house and join them to dislodge his brother from the throne.

Sara-Jero yielded to the quest and demanded to be made third in command. He brought all his associates to the new fold and tore his brother robe. This action caught many unaware that a Prince fed fat by the kingdom can summon such effrontery to erode his brother's image by teaming up with enemies' camp. He gang up with his siblings; Amac, Kwak, Tamb, Wamk, Nyak, Elfa, Fati, Oyin, Segu and supported by their old uncle Obas to invent his new friends mission.

Eventually, they succeeded and basked round the village in euphoria of victory. However, when the time to share the spoils came, the man who initiated Sara-Jero and his siblings movement to the new camp changed face.
Since there was no covenant made with gods of the village, nobody can hold him, TINU responsible. TINU believed if any of Sara-Jero's camp stay closer to the king, he might be quickly left behind in the kingdom. So he staged script to exclude Sara-Jero from occupying 3rd position in the village. But Sara-Jero ran to his father's house for support, as a forgiven father, he was welcome and made number three in command of the village under his new camp.

This singular act infuriated Tinu to the marrow that he released venom against the new king and stayed away from village meeting. He furthered scripted 5 acts with many scenes that would be staged in market square of the village. TINU forecast that out of 5 Acts one will click.
Act 1 scene1-3: New king was misinformed that Sara-Jero and his siblings have plotted to take power back to their father's dynasty. This pricked the new king's heart to the point he disliked Sara-Jero and his siblings.

Act 2 scene1-2: forgery of royal's Staff was displayed and taken to court by Tinu's brothers,

Act 3 Scene 1: Sara-Jero's wife was invited to the temple for selling yam tubers of another woman,

Act4 Scene1: Tinu collude with priest in the temple of election to remove Sara-Jero,

Act5 Scene1-5: Asset declaration by Sara-Jero was fanned to a priest with dubious character in the temple of Justice. This Act5 is at scene 3 as at the time of filing this chronicle.

While all villagers are still in market square expecting the remaining scenes. As Sara-Jero is fighting by masquerades coming out from all firing cylinders, many are wondering if Sara-Jero can scale through the 5th Act and still remain as 3rd in command in the village.

To make things worse for Sara-Jero, his father's house and friends in new camp are also feeling the heat. Sara-Jero was not sensitive enough to discern Tinu's obsession for power, if not he would have learnt from what Tinu's did to his blood brother, Fash. Fash was sent to market square during heavy rain for eyeing Seriki(COS) to the new king. Sara-Jero's action to turn down AP6 list for school principals was an injury, he added salt to it by celebrating 100days than the new king and moving round the white towns to get recognition.

Beside Fash, Mela who is the closest to Sara-Jero has been reported to temple of election justice, Davi and Akpa are also swimming in the same village sea. May be you want to know that Sara-Jero siblings like Amac, Kwak, Segu and co will come back from village river with basket of water and basket cannot hold water.

To unfold the whole truth, Tinu want his former camp A6N to dominate the throne just as the new king want his former camp 6P6 to own the empire. Tinu and the new king plans is to bring the three old camps to their knees by sending them to political asylum in other villages. In no distant time, Ogbo and co will regret for being part of AP6.

We hereby advise everyone in village's market square to absolve nobody in this trial, all the actors are pots calling kettles black.

Politics / Aregbesola Is At It Again by BestGovernance(f): 8:25pm On Sep 16, 2015
According to the French General, Napoleon Bonaparte, "in politics, stupidity is not a handicap". Therefore, the antics of Osun State government cannot be far from this saying.

In our article tagged "Government Profligacy: A case study of Osun State", we shed light on what brought the state to this sorry pass and by now we thought the Governor should have retraced his steps.

But surprisingly, Osun State government has proved to the whole world that the level of suffering in the State is still reasonable. If not, the government would not have such heartless effrontery to stage a charade of verification exercise after 5years in government.

The following questions demand answers from Governor Rauf Aregbesola; is he just waking up from slumber that he has ghost workers?, what happened to 2013 biometric verification conducted for same workers and pensioners by his government? Why waiting for bail out loans to be released before verification? Was it not the same Staff strength he used to get N34.99billion as bail out from FG, so who are those ghost workers?, why half payment when N34.99billion has been collected since 3rd September, 2015?, and is he claiming is not owing them again after he has collected money for same reason?

If Aregbesola and his cohorts had possessed a modicum of sense, they
would have paused to think before taking such a heartless step.

We have told FG before, that they should put mechanism in place to avoid diversion of purpose by these Governors. We are imploring President Buhari to call this man to order before things get out of hands.

Also to the Labour Union leaders who are fond of selling their birthrights against wishes of their co-workers, posterity will judge.

Politics / As We Are Awaiting Ministerial List by BestGovernance(f): 9:26pm On Sep 15, 2015
AS WE ARE AWAITING MINISTERIAL LIST

"Integrity without knowledge is weak and useless, and knowledge without integrity is dangerous and dreadful". Samuel Johnson

For as many who are yet to understand the body language of President Buhari towards appointment by now should read his interview with BBC Hausa last week. His gesture was made known to the public to prove his critics and supporters wrong. So those fanning meritocracy and shouting marginalisation should get it right before the release of Ministerial list.

There are two main factors into his decision; to involve trusted and loyal hands, and to reward his disciples that have been with him in 12years of political wilderness.

In the quest of appointing a Secretary to Government of Federation, many have purported for a Southerner but it would have been a magic for Buhari to do so. May be we were all quick to forget history, Obasanjo did not appoint a Northerner for same post, Yar’adua did not appoint a Southerner and Goodluck was not different.

We believed the error committed was allowing 5 out of 6 most powerful positions to be occupied by Northerners; President, SGF, Senate President, Speaker and Chief of Justice which has never happened since 1999. The deed has been done and it can only be slightly corrected when CJN retired.

According to our findings, out of 30. appointments made so far; sex wise 1female and 29 male, Age wise: 11 are between 71-80years, 12 are between 61-70years, 6 are between 51-60 and only one is between 41-50.

With swift visit by Obasanjo, Tinubu and Akande to Aso Villa last week, all in the quest of protecting their nominees.

Our candid advice is that President Buhari should treat all groups with fairness as trusted hands cannot be streamlined to his village's hut.
Likewise governance has moved beyond some age groups as yesterday theories are no more applicable.

Thank you.

"The political process does not end on election day. Young people need to stay involved in the process by continuing to pay attention to the
conversation and holding their leaders accountable for decisions they make".

Politics / Asset Declaration: One Minus Too Many by BestGovernance(f): 9:10pm On Sep 06, 2015
ASSET DECLARATION: ONE MINUS, TOO MANY

"Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters". Albert Einstein.

The press released by Garba Sheu on 3rd September, 2015 that stated asset declaration of both President and his Vice was another political fraud that eroded the acclaimed integrity of President Buhari.
Just to remind you all that the same Garba Sheu has earlier made two different statements on this issue;

1st: ...President and Vice President have fulfilled one of their electoral promises by publicly declared their assets... Then Nigerians schooled him that CCB is the different from public.

2nd: ...details will be made known to the public after verification by CCB.

We want answer from Garba Sheu why he released it without verification. While from Femi Adesina it is not a campaign promise by Buhari but APC. So who is fooling who.

Here are parts of the requirements for declaration of assets by public office holders according to Code of Conduct Bureau:

» This form is a schedule of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999) and it is mandatory for all Public Officers whether elected, appointed, recruited, contracted etc, by whatever name called to collect and sign for the form from the Code of Conduct Bureau Office nearest to their work station in any of the 36 states of the Federation and F.C.T. or the Code of Conduct Bureau Headquarters at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Shehu Shagari Way, Maitama District, Abuja.

» The responsibility to collect, fill and return the form rests solely with the declarant; therefore, submission of completed forms by the declarant through his/her respective Head of Department does not in any way exonerate declarant from responsibility or liability.

» Every declarant is required by Law to declare his/her assets/liability including that of his spouse(s) who is not a Public Officer and children under 18 years age, honestly, sincerely and submit same to the Bureau within 30 days of the receipt of the forms.

» You are to declare ONLY those Assets/Liabilities you ACTUALLY own at the material time of filling the form. DO NOT declare any Assets/Liabilities you are anticipating to have before actual acquisition.

» When filling the form, you are required to provide detailed information including but not limited to the number, types, address, value of properties so declared and the date of acquisition as well as income derivable from the properties where appropriate.

» Failure to declare your assets as required under the provisions of paragraph 11 of the 5th Schedule of the Federal Constitution shall attract on conviction any or all of the following; (a) Removal from office, (b) Disqualification from holding any Public office, (c) forfeiture to the state any property acquired in abuse of office or dishonesty.

Therefore, we want Nigerians to justify this action from Presidency by comparing Late President Musa Yar'Adua case with the current one.

Asset declaration made by the late Yar’Adua, according to a June 29, 2007 report in The Guardian:

President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua yesterday made public “photocopies of his duly and honestly completed assets declaration form.”

According to Mr. Segun Adeniyi, Yar’Adua has a total assets value of N856, 452,892. These include a total of N19 million owned by the First Lady, Turai.

His total liabilities being outstanding loans secured with the Unity Bank Plc, Imani Estate branch, Maitama,Abuja, is put at N88,793,269.77

A breakdown of the assets declaration shows that Yar’Adua has a total of N43,702,892.43 as cash at bank, being remuneration, savings, campaign and post-campaign contributions lodged with the Bank PHB. Details show that while a total of N26,602,681.00 stands as credit at the Bank PHB, Nagogo Road , Katsina State branch; N12,000,264.21 is in the Apapa, Lagos State branch of the same bank.

Also, a total of N4,999,947.22 is at the head office of the bank in Kaduna. The President declared N7.5 million as cash in hand. This was derived from savings, campaign and post-campaign contributions. The President declared a total of N88,793,269.77 as his liabilities, being cash in Nigerian banks as loans and debit at the Imani Estate, Maitama, Abuja branch of Unity Bank Plc (formerly Intercity Bank).

These are in two accounts of N26,817,362.19 and another N61,975,907.58. Yar’Adua also declared a total assets value of N577,000,000 under buildings, vacant and undeveloped plots sections. This includes the Yar’Adua family compound at Yar’Adua Quarters in Katsina State , valued at N105,000,000. This was acquired through inheritance in November 1997.

There is also a multi-storey building at A8 Wuse 2, Abuja with total value of N212,000,000. The land was granted by the Federal Government to him in 1988. Again, there is a duplex at Malali, Kaduna State with a value of N120,000,000. According to the President, the building, originally a three-bedroom bungalow, was a gift from his late elder brother, Major-General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua.

There is another seven-bedroom duplex at 2, Lema Jubril Close valued at N90,000,000 that was built from savings in 1987. The President also declared that he has a vacant plot at Asokoro New Layout in Abuja valued at N50,000,000. This was granted by the Federal Government to him in 1998. He also declared two farms worth N25,000,000 in Katsina State . They include the one at Ruwan Godiya in Faskari Local Council of Katsina State valued at N10,000,000. This was acquired in 1982.

Another farmland and orchad is also located at Ajiwa, Batagarawa Local Council in Katsina State and is worth N15,000,000. It was acquired in 1993.
Under shares, debentures and other securities in and outside Nigeria, President Yar’Adua declared that he has 2,000,000 units of shares of Habib Bank acquired in 1998 which is in the process of being converted to Bank PHB; 100,000 units of shares of Intercity Bank Plc also in the process of conversion to Unity Bank Plc and another 100,000 units of shares of Muradi Hotels Limited.

While disclosing that he has vehicles worth N181,250,000, the President stated that he has 29 new cars worth N174,700,000 in both Katsina and Abuja that he described as campaign vehicles, adding that he owns a Honda Accord car worth N350,000 and a Mercedes Benz worth another N6,500,000.

The President, who went a step further to declare the assets of his wife and First Lady, Hajiya Turai, stated that she has a total asset of N19,000,000 made up of three local houses worth N1,5000,000 acquired in 1998; one twin bungalow valued at N15,000,000 located in Kofar Kaura Layout in Katsina State acquired in 2002 and three vacant plots in Katsina acquired in 2003 worth N2,500,000. He also disclosed that household furniture in Katsina that he acquired when he was a director of Habib Bank is worth N3,000,000.

Here is the press release by Garba Shehu, declaring President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo’s assets:

“Documents submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), show that the retired General has indeed been living an austere and Spartan lifestyle, contrary to what many might expect of a former Head of State of Nigeria and one who has held a number of top government positions, such as governor, Minister of petroleum and the head of the Petroleum Development Trust Fund (PTDF).

“The documents submitted to the CCB, which officials say are still being vetted and will soon be made public, show that prior to being sworn in on May 29, President Buhari had less than N30 million to his name. He also had only one bank account, with the Union Bank. President Buhari had no foreign account, no factory and no enterprises.

“He also had no registered company and no oil wells.

“The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) who had been a successful lawyer before his foray into politics declared a bank balance of about N94 million and 900,000 United States Dollars in his bank accounts.

“President Buhari declared however that he had shares in Berger Paints, Union Bank and Skye Bank.

“This is entirely unlike what one might expect from a former head of state of a country like Nigeria.

“The documents also revealed that President Buhari had a total of five homes, and two mud houses in Daura. He had two homes in Kaduna, one each in Kano, Daura and in Abuja. One of the mud houses in Daura was inherited from his late older sister, another from his late father. He borrowed money from the old Barclays Bank to build two of his homes.
“President Buhari also has two undeveloped plots of land, one in Kano and the other in Port Harcourt. He is still trying to trace the location of the Port Harcourt land.

“In addition to the homes in Daura, he has farms, an orchard and a ranch. The total number of his holdings in the farm include 270 heads of cattle, 25 sheep, five horses, a variety of birds and a number of economic trees.

“The documents also showed that the retired General uses a number of cars, two of which he bought from his savings and the others supplied to him by the federal government in his capacity as former Head of State. The rest were donated to him by well-wishers after his jeep was damaged in a Boko Haram bomb attack on his convoy in July 2014.

“As revealed by the same forms, highlights of the Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s asset declaration include his 4-bedroom residence at Victoria Garden City, Lagos and a 3-bedroom flat at 2 Mosley Road, Ikoyi. The Vice President also has a 2-bedroom flat at the popular Redemption Camp along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and a 2-bedroom mortgaged property in Bedford, England. Aside from these, the Vice President has no other landed properties on the form.
“Apart from his law firm, known as SimmonsCooper, the Vice-President also declared shareholding in six private companies based in Lagos, including Octogenerium Ltd., Windsor Grant Ltd., Tarapolsa, Vistorion Ltd., Aviva Ltd. and MTN Nigeria.

“According to details shown on the form, the Vice-President has about ninety four million naira, nine hundred thousand US dollars and nineteen thousand pounds in Nigerian Banks with the foreign currencies kept in local domiciliary accounts. His personal vehicles are one Infinity 4-Wheel Drive SUV, one Mercedes Benz and a Prado Jeep.

“As soon as the CCB is through with the process, the documents will be released to the Nigerian public and people can see for themselves.”

Let us ask them what else do people want when their claims did not follow CCB requirements earlier stated above. There was no actual amount in bank, no shares values, no details addresses for property, ranch and orchard have no value, cars have no count, no liabilities and wives assets remained unknown.

Our concern is if this kind of pedestal worth standing on to truly fight corruption as nobody put gun on their heads before making this promise.

Thank you

Politics / Synopsis Of Buhari's 100 Days In Office by BestGovernance(f): 11:57am On Sep 06, 2015
SYNOPSIS OF BUHARI'S 100 DAYS IN OFFICE

The political custom called 100 days in office came to being in 1932 through the 32nd President of America, Franklin Roosevelt. Frank came to take Americans from economy recession to surplus, so he reeled out his achievements and agenda to move his nation forward on his 100th day in office. Since this noble event, democratic governments across the globe have imported this custom.

However, in our clime today, we are having a departure from this much awaited day. This is not far from eleventh hour disclosure from APC and Presidency publicity spin doctors. They hurriedly sounded it to our ear drums that there was no promise to achieve anything in the first 100 days as occupants of Aso Villa.

This singular act caught many unaware and raised more questions than answers. For a man who rode on horseback of change mantra with basket of hopes for Nigerians to now put same integrity on the line poses more dangers. It is the highest level of perfidy and rigmaroling for Mr President and his co-travellers to disown "My Covenants with Nigerians" and "100 things in First 100days". These two documents were parts of what they fed us during campaign, so releasing video tapes and putting a bet on these facts fall short the trust that over 15million Nigerians put in them.

The big questions are; why waiting till injury time before refuting this? why acting parts of these documents? and lastly are they quick to forget records?
We will borrow them this Abraham Lincoln's opinion as answer, You can fool all people some of the time, and some people all the time but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

In a twisted manner, Femi Adesina came out in disguise to reel out achievements of his principal in an article, tagged "The new Sherif is in town". To be factual, his submission is synonymous to Lai Muhammed that body language speaks more volume than having a cabinet. What a post shifting for a man who has sought for same seat for 12years, yet it still understudy.

In the first 100days, we have witnessed the following; excuses for not fulfilling promises made which hinged on immediate past administration,

»nepotism and career somersaulted(appointments of Amina Zakari as Acting INEC chairperson, Retired Lawal Daura- DG,DSS, and Retired Col. Hammed Ali- Comptroller-General, Nigeria Custom Service),

»stolen funds figures keep gushing out as headlines with much noise,

»Jonathan's aides are returning stolen funds with Ghana-must-go, yet no record to show the public,

»97% versus 5% appointments backed with meritocracy,

»body language has resurrected refineries to optimal levels by July 2015 against March 2016 earlier set by immediate past government,

»power sector has used body language to stop gas pipeline vandalism,

»undemocratic invasion and arrest by DSS, from election tribunals to Dasuki to Akwa-Ibom State house,

»subsidy that was claimed not existing is now a taste bud,

»fear of Buhari took PMS pump price 86days to come back to normal price and Kerosine to be N850 per gallon,

»obfuscation from publicity spin doctors,

»leakages in our national treasury are no more,

»media outfits are contradicting one another,

»war against corruption is on the go in the pages of newspaper,

»terrorism is now skeletal yet bombing is till everyday affair with death tolls of about 1000, to make it worse, Officer that guided exit of Kabiru Sokoto (that masterminded bomb attack in Madala) from Police custody was fully reinstated and retired.

»most States(both APC and PDP) are taking after our President in forming their cabinets,

»half-hearted public declaration of assets, and no one knows what next as the regime remain 1361days.

On this note, we will advise them to eschew noise, photo shopping, propaganda, excuses, lies and face governance for the sake of citizens. However, if the trend should continue this way, then Nigerians have fetched waters of hope in a broken cistern.

Politics / Buhari's Legacy: An Invitation To Ethnicity Fracas by BestGovernance(f): 9:58pm On Aug 31, 2015
BUHARI'S LEGACY: AN INVITATION TO ETHNICITY FRACAS

According to a national icon, Obafemi Awolowo that Nigeria is just a mere geographical representation not a nation. We will stand on
this premise to drive home our points in this piece as he who fails to learn from history will be doomed to relive it.

It is a truism that politics in Nigeria stands on many pedestals, of which ethnicity, regionalism and religions cannot be underscored.
Though the first two look alike but they usually part from one another in most cases. Therefore, any step to jettison this tripod will be melody of war, imbalance and annihilation.

In fact, we don't need soothsayers to discern that Nigeria is not one as we have claimed, we are just living together under the roof of forced and false marriage. Just to view what played out from recent appointments made by Buhari with some sections crying for equality so as to have their bites of the national cake. Then we should ask ourselves if appointing kinsman connotes good governance for a region or does appointing anyone from any part means the person is not from Nigeria?

In another view, we cannot blame those clamouring for fairness on distribution of posts as records have shown it as order of business.

Actually, in an ideal world where democracy has foothold for over 50 decades, Buhari's legacy for meritocracy would have not brought any
pandemonium irrespective of where the occupier comes from. But in Nigeria where we are existing in disguise as one, any attempt to bring more hands from one part will be unfair to others as no region has monopoly of meritorious technocrats and politicians. The immediate past administration did a bit of this to South-West and met her waterloo at the poll.

According to Coretta Scott King that “Freedom and justice cannot be parcelled out in pieces to suit political convenience. I don’t believe you can stand for freedom for group of people and deny it to others.” So we would have supported Buhari's legacy if not for his earlier stand that 97% does not equal to 5%. As a man who always stick to his gun, it has been perceived by many that Buhari is walking his talk already. If out of 35, about 25 went to North, then where is clause
for Federal Character enshrined in our constitution, this is democratic era not military rule. So Buhari should thread within the ambit of constitution.

However, if this is how Buhari want to go, then Federal Character should be removed from our constitution, nepotism should be avoided,
and career upheaval should not be encouraged. To the last two, it will be counted as nepotism for Amina Bala-Zakari to remain as INEC
chairperson either as acting or otherwise, and bringing a retired soldier to head Nigerian Custom Service is a disgrace to human capital
development purported by Mr. President.

Lastly, claiming that over 6000 appointments are yet to be made is a journey to Jupiter of fantasy. A Minister is different from a Media Assistant, even though they are both appointment. Also, solving one region particular problem by bringing up its minority(Northern Christians) at detriment of others might not augur well for our
nationhood. So let fairness be our anthem.

As we all waiting for Ministerial list to be made known in no distant time, let us hope Buhari will be a NATIONAL leader not a SECTIONAL one.

Politics / Buhari's Anti-graft Crusade: A Pot Calling Kettle Black by BestGovernance(f): 9:28pm On Aug 21, 2015
BUHARI'S ANTI-GRAFT WAR: A POT CALLING KETTLE BLACK

“Freedom and justice cannot be parcelled out in pieces to suit political convenience. I don’t believe you can stand for freedom for group of people and deny it to others.” Coretta Scott King

With the ripples of probing hurricanes circulating in our political space, many are getting out of their patience thick blankets on when the true war will begin. While the tempo to tame the monster called corruption is being heightened by the President with support from the masses, some events that turned out in the last two weeks are causing obfuscation in the polity.

Firstly, the visit of two ex-presidents to Aso villa rolled in thoughts that could endanger the fight against corruption. It was reported that Goodluck Jonathan went to beg and Obasanjo went to affirm indictment of the former.

The second event was National Peace Committee visit's communiqué released by Bishop Mathew Hassan Kuka. It was later cleared that these respected elder statesmen were not absolutely in consonant with yearning of a common man. Their stand on Buhari to fight corruption within the ambit of law is commendable but anything short of it will be injustice and unpatriotic. However, we should not turn blind eyes to evil in the name of soft landing. So it is only a man without heart that will not want our looted collective patrimony to be recovered.

Our major concern on this war is noise making by some self sanctimonious set of people that are becoming holier than Pope.
According to Baltasar Gracian that a single lie destroys a whole reputation of integrity, so releasing contradictory looted figures day and night might portend setback to this quest. Also, APC should stop acting like opposition and put on the garment of a ruling party. They should put up synergy with President' s posture on this crusade instead of creating sensational opprobrium.

In this quest, Buhari should be consistent and firm as a Chief Crusader because his words and deeds so far are parting. It could be recalled that he said during and after election campaign the following, "...if we don't kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria..."

When it was perceived that the cabals could not lend him support he turned to "...I will start the fight from day one of my government so people have nothing to fear as there won't be time to meddle into past book..." After he made this statement, the cabals joined hands with him and some heartless government officials went on looting. Buhari later reaffirmed this stand, by saying the past is prologue...

But suddenly he turned the stick and said he cannot overlook the past atrocities and that caught many unaware. When the 16 years of PDP mess was gushing out from him and his co-travellers, many political spectators put their weights behind him to see the end of endemic cankerworm that has eaten our nation deep.

Surprisingly, when it was perceived that some gods and goddesses will be affected, the tune changed to '...probing course will be for immediate past government as that is only available book at hand...'. This made some sections to cry and it was later turned to '...we are starting from immediate past regime...'. Even if many want to be hoodwinked, some of us will not. There were ready made reports to access without stress, power probe, fuel subsidy scam and so on.

Beside inconsistency, Buhari should not forget that he was the only person that took loan to purchase form in his party, 90% of others who bank rolled his campaign did that through their ill gotten wealth from national treasury. Just to mention a few, the man who purchased Jet that was used for the campaign cannot boast he got that from his sweat. While those governors who took N50b bond and $600m loan for their States last year cannot deny what they used it for. Hence, for APC to be looking for evidence to prosecute their helmsmen will remain an erroneous belief to concerned citizens. May be they are quick to forget one of their stalwarts that said "... You have stoned nobody; that is why we are stealing.........”.

According to Albert Einstein, whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters. As long as Buhari's in-law remained at helms of affairs of INEC, many people will not take him serious about anti-graft crusade. Buhari should also consider his household indictment in Haliburton scandal and recover those billions squandered under his watch as PTF chairman. Another small matter where we are expecting our President to dislodge his opponents is public declaration of assets that has been misconstrued and mismanaged by his aides.

Furthermore, if not for this clime, Obasanjo has no moral stand to wear white robe on the altar of corruption. A man who fathered do or die politics, squandered $16b meant for power sector and single-handedly anchor Petroleum Ministry for 8years should not be reference for integrity. In fact, Buhari should be weary of St. Mathew Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo as he who comes to equity must come with clean hands.

In same vein, photoshopping governance and media propaganda should not be allowed to derail our collective efforts in this quest if we don't want to turn to laughable stock among comity of nations. For instance, APC promised video version for Ekiti gate is yet to be released let alone present before a court.

On a final note, if we don't want to play to gallery we must consider these cardinals to marshal this war for us to win. Foremost, we should recover these loots and bring the perpetrators into book within the ambit of law irrespective of side of divides they belong to.

Secondly, we need law that will mandate all stolen fund to be returned in its fullest instead of N0.5m for N7b. Likewise our priests in the temple of justice should stop tagging stealing as money laundering. The latter gives just 2years to 14years of the former.

Lastly, we should have proper planning on how to expend the recovered loots so as to avoid previous scenarios and mechanisms to block leakages should be put in place.
