Yes, use the same price since they are all eBook platforms.
Thanks.

@Mk82 How should one price books published with draft2digital? Can one use the same pricing for Kdp on this platform as well?
Literature / Re: Help: I Want To Self-publish My Book. How Do I Go About It? by Bestlyf: 8:41am On Jun 15, 2016
1. Get your ISBN from National Library.
2. Look for a good graphic designer for your book cover.
3. Find a good printing press and discuss with them. A friend of mine self published a 200 pages book sometimes ago. It cost him N100 for each book, which he sold at N200 or more.. It was of good quality. Produced about Thousand copies. The press did everything. Approach a good press. As a self publisher you must put in place a strong marketing machinery, if not you will find it "Buharific".

@papuchudo

Once you sign up with Payoneer and you are approved, you will recieve a message with details stating your US bank account number, routing number and the name of the Bank. You will need to fill in this details with amazon. They will pay your earning via Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) into this account, which you can withdraw here in Nigeria, using your Payoneer ATM card.

how many books have you written?
12 books.

Assume that any number you see under the KU/KOLL
Units or KENP Read column is pages read.
From my calculation, each page read gives $0.0058. This means you need about 172 pages read to get $1.
(Don't start dancing yet.)
That means if each of your books is 50 pages max you would need to have about four of them read through to make $1. This is discouraging as borrows made more sense.

I know this question is not for me,amazon has changed their way of paying authors that had their books borrowed under the kindle unlimited or kindle owners lending library they now pay authors according to how many pages of their book that were read, the kenp read is used to measure how many pages of your book that someone or people have read......with this new system you cannot know how many times your book was read or borrowed but you can only know your total pages of book read......
Thanks.
Business / Re: Making Regular Income Publishing Amazon Kindle Ebooks by Bestlyf: 10:23pm On Jul 26, 2015
@Mk82, please is the number on the column of the KENP read an indication of the number of pages read or how many times the book was read. I know it used to be how many times a book was borrowed. Thanks.

Talking about niches, i will also advice you on what niche is best for you with little or no competition and with the appropriate keyword to use. For your Kindle ebook to rank high in Amazon Kindle Search Query, you need to have an optimized keyword for that category you have posted your ebook so that when such searches are made, your book will come up and not just coming up, it will rank high.

To protect everyone's niche, I shall be sending your niche report to your email.

@MK82, please do you have an idea how I can edit my author's page on Amazon? Especially, the author's name.

Use a different pen mane. One person (author) is not expected to be an expert in everything. There is no limit to the number of pen names you can have.
Ok. Thanks.

@MK82, Is it good to have a fiction under the same author name as your non fiction books? What would be the effect on sales? Or would you rather advice the fiction be under a different pen name. Thanks.

Happy Easter.

There are over 3.3 million books on Amazon KDP now. For a book by an unknown author to sell, you have to conduct deep research to find very good keywords and then set promotion for a few days. Sometimes, with the right keywords, you don't even need free promotions to get sales.

I copy that.

different strokes for different folks....I will say let go of Smashword and embrace Draft2Digital. Visit www.draft2digital.com, it is better than than Smashwords and a player in digital publishing too. Their royalties payout is monthly. I use it too. If you are tired of Amazon, you can check it out. They distribute to:

iBooks
Barnes & Noble
Kobo
Page Foundry
Scribd
Tolino
and CreateSpace!

What I love most in Draft2Digital is their automatic conversion tool...they will help you to convert your book to epub, pdf and mobi and format it to the possible best.
Thanks. I've read so much about D2D on amazon forum. I guess I'll give that a try too.

Smashwords is good. It gives your books exposure to other markets that Amazon does not cover, like iBooks, Barnes & Noble and Kobo. However, you should not expect to make money on the level of Amazon. Amazon is the king of online publishing.I know some people who get about 20% of their income from smashwords. The best thing to do is to pick your books that are no longer getting good sales or borrows on kdp and publish them on smashwords. You have to remove them from KDP select and wait for the current enrollment period to expire.
You will have to learn how to format for smashwords. The necessary guides are on their website. Smashwords pays through PayPal and payment is every 3 months.
Thanks.

The last time I checked Nigeria was not among the countries listed for this service. Don't know if they've included it since this year.

When your book is enrolled in KDP select, you have the chance of getting paid for borrows on KU/KOLL which is usually about $2 each. You also have the chance of promoting it again when it stops getting sales (if you still have promotion days left). The only reason for removing your books from KDP select is if you want to publish it on alternative platforms like Smashwords.
Thanks. Makes sense not to use all your promotion days at once. Interestingly, I just discovered I didn't promote my first kindle book, which I wrote last year November. I wondered why it even sold a copy then; I'm seeing a good number of download now that I'm promoting it for the first time. Its good that this thread didn't fade off. Thanks to you all who kept it alive.

Mk82, I just discovered that kindle keeps your book automatically enrolled in Kdp select until you uncheck the selection. Now my question is: whats the upside and/or downside of keeping your books enrolled in kdp select every 3 months? What if I discontinue my enrollment after the first 3 months?
Still waiting for answers. Thanks.

There's nothing that stops you from promoting the book. I've had books that got up to 3 sales or borrows before the day I set for promotion.

The only risk is that the buyer may return the book if he sees it on free promo. However, it's better to take the risk of one returned book and promote your book to the 100s and sometimes 1000s of potential buyers that will see it during the promotion.
Thanks.

Mk82, Two days ago I published a book, which sold a copy before I could enrol it on kindle select for promotion. Now, would there be any problem if I enrol it for free promotion after it has begin to record sales?

If you are a Nigerian living in Nigeria, there is nothing you can do about the 30% withholding tax. Nigeria does not have a tax treaty with America, Canada, Australia and other countries that collect 30% withholding tax. We only avoid tax in UK and other European marketplaces.
Getting an EIN tax ID is only useful for those from countries that have tax treaty with America.

My advice is to keep working hard and publish as many good books as you can. That is what I've been doing the past 2.5 years. When you make a lot of sales, you will still have a good income even with 30% tax.

Meanwhile thanks to everyone who has been keeping this thread active in my absence.
Welcome back.
