A coalition of entire youths in Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have staged a peaceful protest against what they termed illegal drilling of oil in the local government by Moni Pulo Limited (MPL), a private oil and gas exploration and production company, without following due processes.


The protesting youths consisting of youth caucus, youth council, village youth council, Christian youths, Marine Association and Oil and Gas/Solid Mineral Producing Landlords of Nigeria, on Thursday, matched from the Palace of the Village Head to the site of the company with placards bearing various inscriptions.
According to the youth leader and Oil and Gas/Southern Uruan Ward 3 leader,

Rev. (Barr.) Emmanuel Okokon, Moni Pulo Limited, with its head office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, invaded the community to drill from the oil wells without the consent of the elders and the village head.
He said there is a lot of anomalies and crookedness by Moni Pulo Limited (MPL) coming to drill oil in Uruan without meeting up with their social responsibilities of following the proper template set by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS) and Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).
This, according to him, is likely to cause a breach of the existing peace within the people of Adadia community, which may give birth to violence and destruction of properties in Uruan and Akwa Ibom State at large.
Part of the inscriptions on the placards includes “Moni Pulo, No MoU, No Work”; “Our Oil, Our Soil, Our Terms, Our Lives”; “NNPC, Please Tell Moni Pulo to Sign MoU With Adadia Community Before bringing the Rig”; “No EIA, No Rig”; and others.

They are protesting to press home the provision of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report, assessment report conducted by Sinopec, and signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by MPL.
“We appreciate the intention of Moni Pulo Limited to operate its business in Uruan, but we need them to tell us their template of operation. We need to see the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report that was done, which will tell us the impact that will be created by the production of oil in this community, and its effect to not only Adadia but the entire Uruan community.
“We want to see the assessment report conducted by Sinopec, a Chinese oil and gas company based in Beijing, China, whom Moni Pulo contracted in 2013/2014 without our consent.

“Before Moni Pulo brings its rig to Uruan, they should sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which is the basic to know what is accruable to the community. Because they will operation within the environment, relate with the people of the community, it will affect the culture, tradition as well as our custom. Therefore, under no circumstance should we allow MPL to come into the society with impunity to destroy our lineage without regards to the traditional institution,” Rev. Okokon stated.

Speaking further, he stated that “MPL has decided to go astray from the Local Content Act which, according to the law of the National Assembly, supposed to talk about what impact it will bring to the indigenes, host community and the core community. But they have already cleared the land, built a site and prepare to bring the rig even without the youths being informed, or invited in their stakeholders meeting.

“If they are ready to do business in Uruan, let them come to the traditional institution and be identified with an already laid down structure. Once the youths and traditional institution are carried along, I assure them peaceful and effective operation.”

The youth leader thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel, who he said has a listening ear and knows the cries of the people, adding that he has brought developmental infrastructure in Uruan, therefore they will fold their arms and watch some set of strangers come to divide their community and put them in disarray.

It has become imperative that we draw the attention of Nigerians to a pathetic case of reckless use of firearm and attempted murder of an orphan; Ogbonnaya Paul Issofia, by a Police officer attached to the wife of DIG Ekpo Udom (Rtd) named Shedrack and how the innocent young man was abandoned by the Police officer and wife DIG Udom after he was shot directly on his stomach on the 16th day of December, 2017. On the 16th day of December, 2017 at about 5:30pm Ogbonnaya Paul Issofia (Hereinafter referred to as “our client”), who is a trader at No: 230 Ikot Ekpene Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, observed that a vehicle belonging to Umar Ukpai Convention broke down on the ever busy Ikot Ekpene road.


This led to a gridlock prompting impatient road users to drive into the nearby premises in an effort to access the high way and avoid the truck that blocked the road. In order to forestall destruction of his properties, the owner of a nearby shop used empty cartons to block the entrance to his premises. Find attached the photograph showing the empty cartons used to block the road. We were further informed that few minutes after the cartons were placed in front of the premises, a vehicle with the inscription “Tower of Ivory” conveying Mrs. Dorathy Ekpo Udom and few other women approached the blocked entrance and a Policeman (Officer Shedrack) in the vehicle jumped down and ordered our client to remove the empty cartons or he will kill him. While our client was still attempting to explain to Mr. Shedrack that he was not the one that kept the empty cartons, Mr. Shedrack in the full glare of a shocked public pulled the trigger and shot our client directly on his stomach.

This action of the Police officer was unwarranted as there was no altercation or provocation from our client but a clear case of brazen display of recklessness and wickedness to an innocent and law abiding citizen. Upon shooting our client and taking him to be dead, he hurriedly jumped into the vehicle and together with Mrs. Dorothy Ekpo, they fled the scene. It took the intervention of good spirited individuals who intervened and rushed our client to the hospital. Also find attached photographs taken after our client was short and while in the hospital. We now call on well meaning Nigerians to condemn the actions of the Police officer and Mrs. Dorothy Ekpo and rise to call on the Inspector – General of Police to take immediate action to bring perpetrators to book. ​The Big Brother Naija show is one of those TV shows that the entire nation watches. In oder to win the show, every housemate use all they’ve got in their bag of tricks, but when a housemate goes too far, like the incident between Kemen and TBoss; disqualification is perhaps the most lenient judgement for such housemate.



A little about the show and the key participants in the story

The Big Brother Naija house is like similar shows that take place in many other countries around the world. A number of housemates live in the same isolated house and spend a lot of time together. Their goal is to survive in the house and remain the last person in the house and win the cash prize. Of course, the desire to win and become a star can sometimes force people to do strange things… like the one Kemen did, though

Kemen BBNaija, a former ship manager, is now one of the most popular and sought for personal fitness coaches in his home city Port Harcourt. Even though he hasn’t managed to stay for a longer time in the show, he has acquired plenty of fame, fans, and job. He had good chances of winning the prize until the sad incident with TBoss that caused his eviction from the show.

Why was Kemen disqualified from the show?

Why was Kemen disqualified from BBN? As you know, practically all the moments in the life of the housemates are filmed. So, once, when Kemen was sleeping beside his housemate TBoss, he woke up and looked around. On realizing that she was lying close to him fast asleep, he turned in her direction, tucked his hand under the blanket, and, taking advantage of her sleep, touched and fondled her bust. This outraging moment was filmed from the very beginning to the end.
Of course, the audience could not forgive such misconduct. Touching a woman while she is sleeping and can neither agree nor refuse is beyond all limits. This is what ended Kemen’s stay in the Big Brother Naija house.

The consequences of the story

It was natural that such a loud story could not be left without any follow-up. Being asked to leave for the violation of the house rules and the outrageous behavior, Kemen tried to explain his deeds. From Kemen BBN and TBoss personally received his sincere apologies and his vision of the incident. Insisting on the essence of the show as a game the participants play together with competing for the cash prize, he emphasized that he was only playing a game, nothing more.


Kemen insisted that he had been a fitness coach for many years and there have been no similar incidents before and nobody had ever accused him of inappropriate behavior towards women. He begged pardon from TBoss and all the African women who could have interpreted his behavior as a cruel assault and said that never meant anything like this, especially on the International Women’s Day.

THE Akwa Ibom State Teenagers Forum has dethroned Miss Abasiodiong Eyo, winner of Mr/Miss Akwa Ibom Teen, 2017/2018 for releasing semi-nude photos on her birthday.
Comr Martins Jimmy, President of the Forum in a statement made available to newsmen said the organization believes in maintaining high moral standards describing the attitude of the former Queen as infantile.
He maintained that the “semi-nude” photographs released by Miss Abasiodiong Eyo Inyang was entirely an exuberance of her own and never represented the views, positions, or primary focus of Akwa Ibom State Teenagers Forum, saying Miss Eyo must have been obsessed with the Miss Akwa Ibom Teen Crown given her on November 10, 2017.
He said; “That Miss Abasiodiong Eyo has been dethroned as the 2017 Queen of Akwa Ibom Teenagers Forum and excommunicated from the Forum, forthwith. Ours is a Forum, committed to raising the bar in pageantry, with high moral etiquettes, and as such, has zero tolerance for indiscipline in any form, whatsoever.
“That a new Queen, Miss Meggy Linus has been appointed and will be crowned within 48 hours of the Release. Miss Linus was the First Runner-up at the 2017 Edition of Mr/Miss Akwa Ibom Teen.”
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience the puerile behaviour of our former Queen may have caused the general public, while also urging social media users to refrain from tarnishing the image of Akwa Ibom Teenagers Forum,” he added.
Miss Abasiodiong Eno Inyang, Saturday, shocked fans and friends, when semi-nude photos of herself went viral on social media. The former Teen Queen left her chest bare in some photos, while smoking in another photo.

EARLIER TODAY AT TRIPLE ZERO GUEST HOUSE IN EASTERN UGANDA

This incident has torn the whole Uganda apart as a SUGAR DADDY , whose identity was not revealed, got stuck inside the body of a woman during sex.

The incident happened at the Tripple Zero Guest House in eastern Uganda.

The lady allegedly works in a hotel.

A staff of the hotel in charge of room cleaning who went into the room to perform his duties this morning discovered the man stuck inside the woman.

After a closer look, he discovered that the lady was one of the hotel staff popularly known as Slay Queen.

According to Ugandan Blizz, the man’s wife had promised to net him and use him as a lesson for cheating spouses.

They have been rushed to National Traditional Healers and Herbalist Association where they are receiving possible treatment

According to a report by Ekemini Simon, The gallant troops of 2 Brigade Nigerian Army has in the early hours of today, Tuesday 16 January 2018 recorded another success in their bid to restore peace to the terrorized axis of Ukanafun and Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of the State by killing two gang members of the notorious killer, Akaninyene Uko alias Isoakpaefid who was killed yesterday by the troops.
According to a release signed by the Assistant Director Public Relations 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, Uyo, Major Umar Shuaib, and made available to this reporter, after the first operation which led to the killing of Isoakpaefid, the Brigade troops following another tipoff invaded the hideout of the remaining gang members at Ikpe village in Etim Ekpo Local government area on Tuesday 16 January 2018 and engaged the hoodlums at 1:30am.
The release states that the troops succeded in killing two members namely Aniebet Udoh who is said to be the second in command to Isoakpaefid and Thankgod Friday who is the spiritualist to the kingpin while the remnants escaped with gun shot wounds.
Items recovered by the troops include one pump action gun, two locally made short guns, 13 live cartridges, eight expended cartridges, 2 Dane guns and two cuttlasses. Their corpses have been deposited at University of Uyo Teaching Hospital mortuary.

It could be recalled that the troops on Monday had killed the ring leader Akaninyene Uko.
Part of the release states” The culprit was known for terrorising the inhabitants of Ukanafun Local government area in Akwa Ibom States who perpetrated the killings of two Nigerian Police personnel and a Truck driver in Ukanafun Local government area on 17 November last year and also masterminded the killing of a commissioner’s sister and two others in Ikot Oko Osun community in Ukunafun local government area on 19 November 2017 and suspects have been evading arrests after the incident.”
The release notes that the Commander 2 Brigade Nigerian Army Brigadier General Abdu Ibrahim Hassan has assured law abiding citizens in the area that the Brigade will do everything within its powers to protect their lives and properties while soliciting for their support and cooperation by reporting any form of crime to appropriate security agencies.

53-year-old former first lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama and her eldest daughter Malia, were over the past weekend, captured on camera as she made a rare appearance in swimsuits when she and her daughter were enjoying the sun in Miami.

According to Dailymail, the mother and 19-year-old daughter were spotted walking off Miami Beach on Saturday surrounded by friends including former Obama administration senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett and Secret Service personnel.
