Crime / Benue Youths On ‘revenge Mission’ Against Fulani Herdsmen Engage Police In Shoot by betatalknaija: 3:47pm On Jan 15, 2018
Some youths in Benue state have reportedly attacked security operatives who came to arrest the situation during a clash with Hausa communities.

Men of the Nigeria Police

Some Benue youths on a revenge mission engaged security operatives at Wadatta area, a suburb of the capital city in a shootout on Sunday.

According to Punch, some youths had gathered in a particular place, with policemen and soldiers suspecting they could cause havoc, hence the decision to engage the youths.

It is believed the youths had gathered following the massacre of about 73 persons by Fulani herdsmen in the state and planning on how to cause trouble with the Hausa communities in the state.

Both Tiv and Hausa youths caused mayhem on Saturday, which led to several persons being injured and currently receiving treatment in hospitals in Makurdi. The Benue youths were on a mission to avenge the death of their kinsmen killed by herdsmen.

Since the attack in some parts of the ancient town, soldiers have been stationed in Wadata area to quell any possible outbreak of riot

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Moses Yamu, who confirmed the report, said the command received a report that “some cult members” were gathering around Wadataa and security men were promptly drafted to the area.

“We learnt that some cult members were gathering at Wadatta and we have drafted security men to the area.”

When asked if gunshots were still ongoing at the time of filing this report, Yamu said “there was no cause for alarm.”

Romance / Woman Gets Married To A Ghost After Getting Fed Up With Dating Humans by betatalknaija: 2:25pm On Jan 15, 2018
A woman has reportedly gotten married to a ghost after she got fed up with dating the usual human beings she sees around.

This is the photo of a woman identified as Amanda, who got fed up with dating humans and says she has gotten married to a ghost

According to Metro UK, the woman, who had five children with her ex human husband, said she was fed up with human failings and has opted to marry a ghost.

It was her latest attempt at finding a perfect mate, she said.

Her new husband was a Haitian pirate who told her he was black with jet black hair, and was executed for his crimes in the 1700s.

Forty-five-year-old Amanda from Downpatrick in Northern Ireland, believes their pirate connection is what brought them together – first as friends, before she developed ‘strong loving feelings’ towards him.

Amanda, a female Jack Sparrow impersonator, said: “We became really close; the more I learnt about him, the more I liked him.
“One day, he said to me ‘We can actually be together you know?’ but I had never heard of an intimate relationship between a spirit and a human before.
“We became really close, and, the more I learnt about him, the more I liked him.
“I did some research and found out that it is a real thing and there are lots of people in spiritual relationships, but not many people like to talk about it.”

Celebrities / Curvy Nigerian Actress Reveals What She Would Do With Her Man If He Doesn’t ‘per by betatalknaija: 7:56pm On Jan 14, 2018
Praise Sam Ogan, a Nigerian actress has revealed she will never leave her man owing to his abysmal performance in the ‘other room’

It’s no news that women usually cheat on their partners if they are not good in bed or have little or nothing down there to work with. But this curvy lady Praise Sam Ogan disagrees.

In a chat with Potpourri, she explained in insightful details, reasons why she will never dump a man she is crazy in love with all because she desires a partner with horse power in bed.

“That is nothing now! There are so many ways to work on that; I can’t leave a man I love because he doesn’t last in bed. For the fact that I love him we will work on it; the world has gone past that.

It’s just like asking a man to leave a woman because she cannot cook; what happened to teaching her, or getting a private cook to coach her indoors? Love is a beautiful thing, little things like this got nothing on them”, she said.

Speaking further, she confessed that she would only leave a man who can’t satisfy her in bed if he is proud and not ready to learn.

“It’s no lie, I have been in such a relationship before and I helped my man; I can never leave a man for such reason, except he has got pride and refuses to be helped, then I’ll leave him to his faith”, she concluded.

Many of you will resolve to start a new positive habit in 2018. Adding good habits can be fun, but unfortunately (most of the time), they don’t work. Approximately 38 percent of Nigerians will make resolutions, and only 8 percent will succeed.

Instead of adding a new diet or workout regime, let’s remove the negative habits that have been holding you back.

1. Kill your habit of checking social media during the workday.
Social media platforms are masters of making you stay there. Getting lost in Facebook can be fun, but it's counterproductive during the day--especially while you're trying to build that presentation for your investors.

Now that we're on the subject, turn off the notifications on your phone, too. You can check your Snaps on your break.

2. Kill your habit of thinking it's all about you.
Your frowning boss isn't conspiring to fire you, as much as the cashier isn't giggling about your tie. They're thinking about themselves, and their own problems. Not you. I promise.

It's not about you. So cut it out. Run on that assumption when dealing with every human interaction in your life, and you'll be much happier.

3. Kill your habit of multitasking.
Science tells us that only 2 percent of us can really multitask. So don't try. Try this instead: When attempting to get something off your to-do list, shut down every browser and app on your screen except for the ones you need.

Otherwise, you'll get notifications for LinkedIn requests, Facebook Live posts, and tweets. A never-ending stream of distraction. So shut down everything except the program you need, and finally get things done.

4. Kill your habit of comparing yourself with everyone.
You will never win this game. There will always be someone smarter, better looking, richer, and (seemingly) happier. Always. Focus on yourself, your mindset, your health, the state of your being, and you'll win.

5. Kill your habit of complaining.
It's just not worth it. Be aware of the words that come out of your mouth. They affect you and the people around you.

Speak of good things, and more good things happen. Speak of negative things, and more negative things happen. Simple.

6. Kill your habit of wasting time with negative people.
If they don't love and support you, get rid of them. You don't have to shout, kick, and scream. Just stop being available to them. They won't notice. They're too self-centered to care.

7. Kill your habit of taking or organizing long and unnecessary meetings.
Less meeting means more doing. We're all adults. Take the meeting, do what you need to do, and go and do it. You can still be social, and have fun, and succeed in making meetings more efficient.

Try this in your next meeting. Set an agenda. As you run through the agenda, go around the room and have everyone share:

What they're working on.
What they've completed.
What they need in order to complete what they're still working on.
It works, I promise. You'll shave half an hour off your meeting time.

8. Kill your habit of saying yes.
You may think you don't have enough time. You do. You just spend your time doing the wrong things.

Stop saying yes to everything. Embrace no. Love no. No is your word for 2017. Love it, live it, and use it.

9. Kill your habit of self-loathing thoughts and beliefs.
Enough is enough. You are good at what you do. You have it in you. If you can't silence that voice in your head, begin a regimen of meditation. If you need some quick wins to feel good about yourself, write three things you want to change this year. Right now. Go ahead; I'll wait.

Congratulations. You took the first step. Feel that little endorphin release in your brain? That's what you're looking for. Keep doing that, and you'll break that habit and create a new one. A habit where you actually get things done. Go--do things.

10. Kill your habit of sitting.
Get off your backside. Run, exercise, move. But stop sitting. Oh, and get a standing desk while you're at it.

11. Kill your habit of underachieving.
You're better than this. You have more in you, and you're not getting any younger. Start that business. Resign from that horrible job. Do it now. The only thing stopping you is you. Not your family, not your bank account.

12. Kill your habit of bragging about your resolutions before they happen.
Your brain thinks you've accomplished them when you announce them to the world. Stop that. This TED Talk helps to explain the phenomenon.

13. Kill your habit of creating excuses.
While you're at it, kill the habit of creating reasons. They're just excuses with lipstick on.

14. Kill your habit of reality TV, celebrity gossip, etc.
You're an adult; this shouldn't be a part of your entertainment. It's junk food for your brain. Feels great at first, but there is always a negative mental consequence.

15. Kill your habit of obsessing over doomsday scenarios.
It's good to have some healthy skepticism, but pessimists don't change the world, motivate people, or come up with innovative ideas. They only bring the people around them down.

16. Kill your habit of obsessing over things outside of your control.
Focus your time, energy, and resources on improving yourself. You can control everything you put in your body, think about, and do. Master yourself and become ruler of your universe.

17. Kill your habit of making sure everything is perfect.
It ain't happening. Ever. This is just a complicated form of procrastination. Which is a deeper manifestation of your fear. Get out of your own way, and let it rip.

TV/Movies / Here Are The Best Nollywood Movies Of 2017 by betatalknaija: 7:49am On Dec 31, 2017
Only Nollywood films that had major cinema releases, or were premiered during the calendar year were considered for this list. Ranked in ascending order. From romantic comedies to twisty thrillers, we summarize the year in film.

10. The Wedding Party 2: Destination Dubai

The sequel to Nollywood’s biggest film delivers exactly what it promises, no more no less. It isn’t better than it has a right to be, and no worse than it could have been. The entire gang returns for another romp of escapism and jolly good fun. Niyi Akinmolayan grabs the helm and delivers a sequel that knows exactly what its audience wants.

9. Potato Potahto

Potato Potahto certainly remains pretty to look at, even when the screenplay begins to sag with repetition. The sets are colourful and costumes were designed to both grab attention and flatter the actors, particularly Jocelyn Dumas, who is a designer’s dream to dress; and Lala Akindoju, who flaunts legs that stretch from Accra to Ankara.

8. Couple’s Award

It isn’t a complete picture that Couple’s Award, as written and directed by Kehinde Olorunyomi Odukoya presents, plus, there is that troublesome itch to reach for a crowd-pleasing ending. Looking beyond this though, Couple’s Award is a finely acted, well presented effort that is marked by a rich story and a somewhat faithful execution. Shame it wasn’t widely seen.

7. King Invincible

Ultimately, King Invincible is a director’s film and Femi Adisa’s hard work and vision is what is most striking about the entire picture. His passion is visible in every shot, and in every fight scene. He falters on occasion, with what he gets in (clustered sets, unimpressive supporting actors) and with what he leaves out (a pivotal battle scene that could have told more of the hero’s character) but anyone can see that bigger things are sure to come from him.

6. Slow Country

Slow Country moves with a deliberate pace until it gets to the bloody shootout that is really where director Eric Aghimien’s heart lies. He unspools a final act that is impressive in its stunt work and easy command of visual effects. It would be unjust to dismiss Slow Country as a minor work from a promising auteur. Pretty obvious Aghimien has plenty more things to teach Nollywood. Someone just needs to give him a budget worth his talent.

Celebrities / How Davido Chased 2face Off The Stage During His 30 Billion Concert Because He W by betatalknaija: 2:32pm On Dec 29, 2017
The 30 Billion concert yesterday certainly had some major highlights that virtually everyone who’s heard about or first hand saw the event, can’t get enough of!

From tickets being sold out to VIPs being ambushed by regulars, depriving them of the expected comfort they were suppose to have while enjoying the show.

One major highlight that has since been raving on social media is that of Nigerian music mogul, 2Baba performing OBVIOUSLY drunk on stage.

he music legend according to many came to the stage already very drunk and could barely coordinate himself properly – in a video shared by Goldmyne, the singer seems high but it can’t be said for sure but it’s just that the host, Davido seemed to be in a hurry to rush him off the stage before an irreparable damage was done on that stage.

After singing some of his major hits half way, the African Queen crooner was more interested in being an orator and it was at this point that Davido prostrated to him – a move which according to the people, meant “Don’t destroy my career”.

A wicked man who was afraid that his wife was about to leave him for another man has chosen the most evil way to take revenge on her.

The Ogun State Police Command says it has arrested one Andrew Koku, a resident of Ayedere in the Obada area of Abeokuta, for allegedly killing his six-month-old baby, Precious Koku.
A police report indicated that the suspect was arrested following a complaint from the mother of the baby, Omowumi Teleda.
She was said to have lodged a complaint at the Adigbe Police Division that she went out briefly to see the first child she had with her ex-husband, leaving the six-month-old baby behind with the suspect.

She told the police that when she returned to the house, she met Precious dead.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Precious’ mother explained further that the baby was hale and hearty when she left home, adding that she was surprised that that the baby had died when she returned.
