Moura7: The fee is quite ridiculous I agree and it's not even the transfer fee, it's a combo of the transfer fee, salaries, add -ons, bonuses etc for the period of five years....but where I have an issue with you is the emphasis you're placing on his performance this year like there's no way he'd improve the next season. You forgot that just 10 months ago he was awarded the ballond'or. The fact that he had a bad season now doesn't mean he won't have an even much better one next season. Ronny's first season at Juve was not that great but guess what? he improved his stats the next season. This is the first time that Lewy has surpassed Messi in goals in his career and he did this with a rejuvenated Bayern team where let's be honest( and I'm not taking anything away from Lewy) he just had to position himself well to score goals. Messi played most this season from deep in midfield to the front. He had to do most things himself. He'd start the attack and finish it most times. He'd dribble, still create chances, still make those cutting edge through balls and still score. If you watch barca games you'd understand what I'm talking about, the whole team is just over dependent on the guy for literally everything, well except defending. So I think in a more balanced team like City or even PSG, he'd do much better than this season. Will messi shine in this presence juve team without a Ronaldo?? |

Angelfrost: Last ten years, no one made an offer to buy him, neither did Barcelona place a price tag...
Let's stay in the present sir... Would you honestly dole out half a Billion for this current 33 year old Messi??! Is that financially sensible or prudent??!
In a Man City team or even PSG, by how much would Messi outshine players like Lewandoski, Mbappe, or Neymar??! By how much exactly that he should cost over 4 times more than each of them??!
You don't pay half way to a Billion for the past or fading glory of a player... Such a fee should secure you at least 4 glorious years of domestic and European unrivalled dominance!!! Messi can't offer that to Abu Dhabi FC or any other top club for that matter!!! Simple truth...but his minions are blind to this fact ...will rather result to insulting u instead of being logical...ronaldo that is more influential than messi can mk that money bk for any team |

He will not walk free bt he definitely won’t be paying no €700m. And he will walk. It’s obvious his loyalty this far means nothing to them. The question here is, why dint he activate it in June as stipulated in the contract... he only made this decision because of the 8.2 drubbing in the hands of bayern and thst is selfish of him... players announce that they will leave even b4 the season is over...y dint he announce it in June... ronaldos wasnt messy cos he activated it as stipulated in his contract...u cant just wake up and say u are off...even inbsnks and offices , u must announce 3 months b4 leaving... that messi guy has a wicked heart ... if not for barca he wudnt b who he is today ... the ronaldo u guys curse every minute has never had a messy contract...even at united when he wanted to leave ...united dint agree , he had to play 3 more seasons and won then the CL b4 they let him go |

paulolee: thats where you are getting it wrong, being decisive isnt jus abt goals, cr7 score two goals against lyon but still didn't qualify, would you still say he was decisve against lyon?? secondly messi is more of a playmaker and more influential im games than cr7 messi easily decides the outcome of games by giving assist even without scoring....i think you should check the meaning of decisve before throwing tantrums like a kid and insulting those that know football more than you do... ...being a biased fan shouldn't make u sound foolish... how can u say a player that hasnt won crucial games is the past 5 years is more decisive than the one that has scored winning goals... what is the meaning of decisive?? In football, it simply means goals...goals that decide games... against man u , he scored decisive goals but dint against Liverpool... ronaldi did against Atletico twice, bayern 2ice, Wolfsburg, dorrmund , shalke, juventus twice, roma he scored goals that decided the games...not winning 6.0 ... im talking about one goal difference gamesor 2 goals at most... messi only did it against man u and Chelsea in the past 2 seasons...and group games are not really decisive unlike knockout games |

U posted crap and people are liking the crap...being decisive is also being effective... ronaldo won 3 of the last CL titles ...goals decide games and not asssists ... if ur assist is not converted to goals, then that assist is crap... ronaldo has scored more decisive goals than messi in the CL i the past 5 seasons ... the only game messi has been decisive in the past 5 years in the game against chelsea over 2 legs... and that was I think 2019 |

Do you think it's like your typical Nija type business decision. They would have crunched the numbers to the minute detail. Sales from No. 1 jersey sold to fans worldwide alone will be crazy. And the move to MLS is equally a money spinner. Americans are crazy about Messi. Advertisers would rush in. Decisive playermaker that they hv been disgacing year in year out in the CL... if not for the media frenzy and fan base shenanigans....y waste such on a player that cudnt lead his club barca to a final in the CL in 5 years and hasnt won a major trophy for his national team...thats stupid the highest form... city will b foolish to spend so much and still end up winning the league and not the CL.. there is no way on earth that they will b able to recoup 750m ...totally impossible, if u understand sports business... it will only excite sponsors in the first year and if city fails to do well in Europe, the interest drops... the guy is 33...he has certainly declined in performance ...chances of juve winning the CL iwith ronaldo is higher than the chances of messi winning it for city...thats a fact |

Y'all quoting me should understand the effect of financials due to the pandemic.... if messi drops below expectation which is possible, sponsors will drop out ...sanchez is an example...u cant b too sure for a player that is playing outside nou camp for the first time in his career at an old age of 33... New environment, new food and weather ... it might take him a couple of years to fit in of which he will b heading to 36 by then...it is a very foolish move ....no football player is worth that deal ..

Beedude: It also took Ronaldo 5yrs to reach a ucl final after joining Madrid in 2009. Signings of Bale, Modric and others made it possible. Football is a team sport. If it was about Ronaldo, why did they find it difficult to get to semis and finals before 2014 ? Its simple. Every good player needs a good team to flourish. None of Messi or Ronaldo can make Crystal palace enter Epl Top 4 U are wrong...madrid got to 3 consecutive semi finals from 10/11 till they won it in 2014...it has nothing to do with the players u mentioned...it was destined to happen...just like bayen that also got to about 4 semi finals in 6 years b4 lifting it in the 7th year.. |

The only way out is sit with the board, agree on an acceptable fee for everyone and move on.
The Board is playing to the gallery themselves as they need him to go but don't want to look like they are pushing him away. He is going to be 34 next season.....You #CashOut asap.
His wages off their neck, and the fee to be agreed on will go a long way in helping them re-invest.
