dorocanist: I am more shocked at your ignorance and not even bothering to use the readily available resource: googleIt's H4 Visa and i don't have to prove you right or wrong. You are an ITK and it's people like you that confidently misinform the public. You don't have to prove you know it all, if i were you, if i sense a discrepancy, i will ask questions like one who is willing to learn, if your ego stops you from asking questions, then use google. Be smart okay! "Jumping into conclusion is like quitting a game: you lose by default."-Derek Sivers |

I had my interview in Abuja. Sat next to this nosy woman and her sister outside the waiting room. I was so embarrased when she commented on one of my documents saying to her sister "See, this one dey go join husband, my own visa class better sef." Who asked you? Eish i was so put off but kept my calm, moved my document far from her gaze. She then said to her sister "she dey cover book like secondary school sef." Okay! i confirmed she is a pathological gossip who just couldn't keep quiet ![]() She was called before me and was asked about her purpose of visit. She claimed to work for an NGO focused on women empowerment and that she wants to attend a conference, consular officer asked about her specific role in the NGO, she started stammering "you know...we make women's lives better, we empo, empowww, empooooowerrrr woooomen...well the officer got impatient and denied her. I was startled because she had so much to say while waiting, perhaps if she had been preparing her mind for the interview(not being a nosy-nety), she would have been in the right frame of mind to answer questions more confidently. Well, I was called next and was asked when i met my husband, his job over there, how many countries i have been to,my educational background, what plans i have when I join him. Then the consular officer looked through my documents. It was a pleasant interview as the consular was even suggesting ways to make my stay worthwhile. Well, it was nothing but God's favour, i give him praise! |
Perhaps you found STEVE BIKO's picture not TB Joshua's. There is a slight resemblance. Steve was an activist who contributed to revolution against apartheid. |
Parenting style is determined by parents although a child is also shapened by the society including societal laws, norms and values. Even if a child is locked in a room all his life,he will swear at you to get the door;where on earth did he learn to swear? perhaps it's deeply rooted within. Child protection laws are good but when it interferes with parental discipline...it becomes a tool for rebellion. Comparing Nigeria's corruption with US xenophobic imperialism isn't really applicable here. Ideally, the government doesn't dictate your parenting style, it is meant to regulate and keep your (chosen) parenting style in check. On the other hand,Nigeria's corrupt system doesn't mean some Nigerian parents can't model 'good' parenting. 'Good' is subjective...

One of the reasons why Christianity is no longer as convincing as the days of old is because we are not reading our Bibles. We are too LAZY. Busy with mundane things and not giving quality time to studying our 'life manual'. Men of God are still 'men' fallible, prone to making mistakes(let God be the judge of that). Please read 1 Corinthians Chapter 6 and tell me if you still think .It is the Holy Spirit that convicts us of sin and guides us unto all truth. Now this is a reminder that EVERY CHRISTIAN ought to EARNESTLY DESIRE the baptism of the Holy Spirit. As long as we remain indolent and refuse to study the Bible on our own and allow God's Holy Spirit to minister to us, we will be victims of fellow men's misinterpretation. Meanwhile are you still wondering what is written in 1Corinthians chapter 6? or you are waiting for me to post it? Laazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzziness is robbing us of our true identity as Christians . |
A buyer needed for 3 plots of land in a strategic location in Ibadan. Tarred road to the plot, serene but not secluded. |
Thanks all @shumno, glad there is at least one person who agrees in prayer, two is just fine! (smiles) I see nothing wrong in praying while all hands remain on deck to strategically deploy physically and intelligently armed men. My Bible tells me that: 'the weapons of our warfare are not physical(weapons of flesh and blood) but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, inasmuch as we refute arguements, theories and reasoning and every proud thing that sets itself up against the(true) knowledge of God, bringing every thought to the obedience of Christ(The messiah, anointed one), ' 2 Corinthians 10:4 (AMPLIFIED) We could spend time arguing on strategies that rarely reaches our policy/decision makers; but this is one thing i don't consider time wasting- PRAYER. Leaders can gain insight and wisdom to tackle the crises through heartfelt prayers. |
Dear Nairalanders, At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, can we agree to pray on nairaland for just 10mins tomorrow, 30th of September 2011 by 12noon? This prayer of agreement will be aimed at subduing every stronghold of wickedness against Nigeria or the government. Just 10mins people, and there will be testimonies,if two or three people shall agree on anything,it is a done deal, according to the Bible.Kindly reply to this trend if you are able to join the prayer chain. God bless! (singing) Jesus is a mighty God(2ce) Boko Haram bows before Him, He is a mighty God! |
Not yet from cover to cover, but the parts I have read and (still reading) is life transforming.Sometimes,I wonder what I have been doing all along not paying attention to this 'life manual' inspired by my heavenly father. dear friends, the Bible gives life, comfort, love, strength and direction. I thank God for my eloquent, spirit filled pastors, great spiritual mentors but none compares to having a sizzling romance with my Bible. Its exciting to hear from God myself.yaay!!! How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word(Ps 119:9)MSG. For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart(Hebrews 4:12)KJV. |

Hi everyone, At this point I seem really confused as to who the people-centred candidate is, Now more than ever i wish i could be telepathic(read minds). But since i can't, please can i have reasons why it should be either Goodluck or Buhari or any other presidential candidate. No sentiments,no foul language on either candidates pls, state ur point and respect the opinion of others. Intelligent youths of Nigeria ,our votes can bring about the much anticipated change. This is our time to deliberate and not tear one another other apart. Am waiting, NB:Please avoid agression on his page,i need people who can be objective yet polite. |
I am impressed with previous posts encouraging you to pray to God.Remember, you are the first prophet of your life. However, do not ignore danger signals: Are you sure u are not simply being grateful to this lady for pivoting ur career path and for 'being there'? Some special friends do so and may not necessarily fit into our 'life-time' destiny of marriage. Are you sure you are not being oversentimental about your mother's opinion? Don't miss the best,be firm when necessary,u can't make your mom like her, love grows with time. If your spouse loves u,she will respect your mom; if your mom truly loves you,she will accept what makes u happy and rather pray for you. My only sister is about getting maried and there were negative prophetic revelations about her fiance. The entire family is praying for her and also encouraging her. With good communication some of the issues are being addressed between the two love birds and all we can do is stand aloof, pray and prepare for their forthcoming wedding that will no doubt lead to a BLISSFUL marriage. Only prayer can answer your doubts.I also just whispered a word of prayer on your behalf now.You won't miss your life-partner by God's grace. |

I like Talkative but gentle ladies.By the way, every girl has the talkative potential. Depends on excitement level and whether she feels comfortable enough to be expressive. Logorrhea is extreme! Gosh!!! it sucks! |
Lol,looooooooooolllllllllllllllll ![]() this is so funny but true, It mostly happens to brides who lack inner beauty and absolutely adore attention I wonder why it never occurs to them that a beautiful bridal train is a reflection of the wife's taste and personality.I look out for the bridal train and groomsmen at weddings,it tells me a lot even before i sight the bride or groom. |
Eish!!! quite demanding but could be less choking too |
Nigerian culture is rich but complicated; embedded with the good, bad and ugly. |
Farewell my gentle president Umar Musa Yar'adua If you had a second chance am sure you will surround yourself with people: who love you enough to be honest and true who value your health more than fame who wouldn't turn you against your own people for selfish ambition and insatiable greed who wouldn't rip you of dignity and honour in exchange for power who wouldn't mind living peacefully with you in a cottage than in a mansion full of pressure and unrest. I really wish you could be rewarded with eternal life and rest but that decision is between you and your God, Adieu my president!!! |
'The best revenge is success' Are there no such places(as portrayed by the BBC documentary) in our country? I think we should begin to tidy our closets and improve the means of livelihood for average Nigerian citizens. Maybe we should start with making democracy truly the government of the people by the people for the people. We are meant to be sober&reflective and make up our minds to be proactive not reactive after watching such documentary. Why should there be such social inequality and injustice in the first place? No doubt, Lagos had experienced a massive improvement in few years of Fashola's government. Why don't we sponsor programs to portray such development on international media.Let us brace up to the challenge and watch if the same BBC that revealed our slum wouldn't propagate our success, Nigeria, Good people; Great nation! |
Dad enters the kitchen and picks from the meat mom's frying(hands unwashed) Mom- filthy man,all these years you still avn't changed Dad- hmnn, filthy indeed, 5 yrs, 10 yrs,20 yrs,now almost 30yrs, u haven't left the filthy man (all burst into laughter) |
Another god-fatherism nonsense,Tinubu should better learn from his neigbouring state and late god father. The major has become minor overnight,god-fatherism is meant to influence citizens to vote in the right candidate(e.g Clinton and Obama); now the citizens have no electoral power,god-fatherism has taken over Support electoral reform and let god-fatherism become minor Yes we can! |
What part of the constitution supports that? I think our leaders are beginning to undermine the power of Nigerian citizens, they just wake up one morning and ask a power drunk 'Jezebel'(not in the immoral but power drunk sense) to rule. Nothing stops a woman from ruling,i believe she can but due process needs to be followed! gosh Is presidency a traditional title of Igwe asking Lolo to take over? Even traditional rulers forbid that, God will bring them all to judgement!!! |
Honestly, Umoru Yaradua doesn't have the personality and doggedness of a president. How can we ensure that this never happens because i see the same pattern replicating itself in some states? |
sorry for the mix up and thanks for the clarification my point exactly, handing over a country of 140million citizens enriched with rich but 'embezzled' resources to a seemingly good but frail man to reward a friend is selfish and myopic. I detest the fire brigade approach we Nigerian's operate, we need to ammend our constitution but that can only be done when we relate the past to the present. How many senators in the House of reps can state Nigerian's history from 19th century, how can they legislate reasonably? How were they elected in the first place? we should stop whining and move from being reactive to being proactive. 2011 elections can still be redeemed through electoral reform and ammendment of the constitution. |
Fellow Nigerians, we must learn from both past and present political situations and never let it repeat itself He who understands the present shapes the future but he who undertands the past shapes the present: no wonder our 'present' is 'shapeless' and alarming How many people have visited Yaradual centre in Abuja? i implore Nigerian youths most especially to visit Yaradua centre, read through Nigerian History and understand why our president was elected; an easy going intelligent man who fits into the academic but not the political world. You will see in virtually all the pictures in Yaradua centre,Former President Olusegun Obasanjo,Yaradua's late uncle and Shehu Shagari, you will then understand that the remedy of Nigeria's political structure lies in a good undertsanding of History. Obasanjo handed over power to Shehu Musa Yaradua so as to compensate for his late uncle's passion that was murdered prematurely in prison. When did presidency become a chieftancy title? Little wonder why Yaradua wants to die on the 'throne',no thanks to Madam Turai who is power drunk and would DO ANYTHING to sustain the first citizen title. No wonder why both performing and non-performing Governors have now imbibed the 2nd,3rd, 4th,5th term affair by god-fatherism and all other corrupt political habits. It is only traditional rulers that elect a new King form the late King's lineage. Presidency is not an Emir, Oba or Igwe title!!! Madam Turai,Live and Let live, please free our easy going president today from power tussle and let him have his health restored, |
Eventful! |
Hmnnnn, love, dat inner warmth dat: makes you accept som1/people just d way they are, yet correctg them in love and protecting their bad habits from the whole world makes you happy when you're with them forgettg all around u, leaves u expressive and giving but not drained keeps a lasting smile on your face with mere memories of the loved one(s), (could go on and on but dats okay for now, fill in d gap) |
