I do not think we need to worry about the financial situation of teachers compared to other professionals unless you are thinking about pivoting to those professions. We should be more concerned about if the remuneration is good for your short term, medium term and long term needs. And information about teachers' remuneration can be gleaned on the internet. Each provincial professional teaching body has their collective bargaining agreement and I have attached that of Alberta for you in the previous reply. You can search for that of any province to have the info.

The most important thing here is to continue to engage different provincial licensing bodies (Shop around! My info could be obsolete but most of them will require a credential evaluation like WES/others to Canadian equivalencies to determine if you have the 'B.Ed' that some provinces require to have an unrestricted/professional A license) so you have a clear idea of what you need to do to have a professional license to teach.

Do you have a B.Ed, M.Ed or NCE? I think its never too early to start the ball rolling on getting in touch with the appropriate provincial teacher's regulatory board about what you need to do to obtain a license. They are the ones in charge of licensing. If they tell you to do bridging courses, please go ahead and do it as long as you have set your mind on going the teaching route in Canada.

There are people (Christians especially) who prefer to teach in the catholic school system compared to the public - it's a long story.

There are rewards for Canadian teachers on earth and in heaven, Mum was a public school teacher for 35 years in Osun state and a fully paid monthly pension is cause for thanksgiving! Let's not start what we can't finish if we talk about active service remuneration - military years especially.

Teaching, you cannot go wrong with this. The only challenge might be the culture shock. People usually starts with sub teachers and eventually transition to full-time. In Alberta, because the teachers went on strike recently, the government is planning to hire more teachers but the timeline is not known yet but for me, I have not met one teacher that is not employed.

Please, is teaching a good profession to go into in Canada?

I currently teach in Nigeria and I plan on getting the teaching license of a province before I move.

I am also taking online courses on KYC/AML.

We currently live in an interesting time. The job market is tough for everyone. In Canada here, the tariff from US is really hitting bad because large employers are being affected. The rise and use of AI is another factor entirely.

However, in the midst of all this for "proessionals", I am discovering that people on "streets" are really busy. A guy came to change my tires and oil change and charge $210 for less than 1hr job told me he still has about extra 3 other appointments as at 4:30pm. Guys who tow vehicles are charging $300 for less than 20Km trip etc.

It would be nice to know your field and another thing is for LinkedIn, they are mostly the big firms that a lot of people are keeping their eyes on but for medium size firms, they are still hiring.

Career pivot/flexibility is the way to navigate this trying period.

You need to max out IELTS to begin with. Although, your present score is good but you will need
L-8.5, R-8.0, W-7.5 and S-7.5 to get all the possible points.

I'm 34 and currently on 469, also awaiting healthcare draws. Unfortunately, my IELTS will expire on 24th of this month. Just hoping for some miracle.

A new category was just created for Education in February, and there have been no draws yet for the Education Category.

To start Evaluate your PGDE and BSc with WES or one of the other evaluating bodies. Register and write IELTS and try to max out your IELTS so you can get the maximum points.

the first can make 30 unit of block in 12hours.
the second Machine can make 80 unit of block in 8-10 hours.

Do you have more than 3 years in the job experience you plan to use as main NOC?
If yes, you can move the others to personal history.
If NO, there’s no restriction on how many NOC u can use especially if you need the max 3 years experience for higher CRS score.
N.B: at least one experience should be continuous for one year and for Category based draw, work experience should be at least 6 months in last 3 years.

This is just my thought though. I might be wrong.

Personally, i think it's best you stick with one NOC, especially if you av 3 or more years of work experience with that NOC and if the NOC aligns with the ongoing category draw (for example if uv had experience as working as an admin rep & transportation manager, Instead of using the NOC for Admin, use that of transportation). Just to be safe though. But make sure uv had enough experience up untill the draw was introduced in 2023. You can add your other work experience after you've gotten an ITA.

Her 7.5 in listening means she lost 50 points, a positive 7.0 writing remark will only add 8 points.

I asked her to remark writing not listening. Moreover, only writing and speaking can be remarked. You can't remark listening and reading.

I understand, but that is the cheapest option you have.

Although, you can enter the express entry pool, but you are losing a lot of points with 6.5 in writing, and with what is going on now we need to get the
highest possible point. Use the CRS calculator to check how many points you will have if you have a 7 or 7.5 in writing.

I don't know how much remarking is, but it's a risk worth taking and it's way cheaper than rewriting.

You just have to take your time and check.

I think the PNP route favours people who have relatives. Although i may be wrong

This post made me research Manitoba PNP, but I am ineligible because I have no connection to the province.

I had my first ielts and got a 7.5 i was adviced to take a second test which i got band 8. I am using the PNP route although i am an applicant still waiting , i got my LAA within 2 months. The thing with PNP now is that those who didn't fare ware with EE are trooping in PNP resulting in high cutoff. So if they have to take it again just to boost their scores, let them do it biko

I don't think WES will reject the statement of result. If you apply for your SOR, NOUN will send it to your email. In many schools in Nigeria, you don't get your certificate immediately after graduation. Some take as much as 3 years.
