Congratulations. Pls, how did you go about the commissioner of oath signing the guarantor's form? Did you go to the high court or a customary court? deprince77: Quick update. I received text message from NIS Alausa yesterday that my passport is ready for pickup.
Captured on the 19th July. Passport renewal. Complete DIY.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting it ready this month or next month. Will be there on Saturday to collect it.
Who knows if Alausa work on Saturdays ?
Thanks. |

Thank you. I follow Jessica and she has been a source of inspiration. seunpinky: 1. Having a Master's degree will directly/indirectly affect your chances of getting a job in Canada.. However, having a Master's degree is not all that is required to get a high paying job ( other factors such as years of professional experience, acing interviews, communication skills) are as important as your Master's degree.
2. From my lil experience, I realize that majority of Nigerian's are embarking on unnecessary masters degree. For IT related courses, I would suggest you do more of short online courses on udemy,IBM, Coursera and get professional qualifications to back your knowledge.
Spending £15,000 pounds on a master's degree in data analysis aiint worth it in my opinion except you intend to use the masters as a means to japa from Nigeria.
Most of those earning high salaries in Data analysis field in Canada do not have a master's degree in data analytics.
If at all you are inclined in getting a master's degree, you can get it done at a cheaper price (3k to 5k cad) when u land as a permanent resident.
U can follow @jessica_xls on IG for more info on how to break into the data analytics field in Canada. |

Thank you for the clarification. I appreciate it. cochtrane: For most jobs in data science, employers are looking for people with a masters or phd degree. This is often explicitly stated in the requirements. Don’t underestimate what a masters can fetch you in Canada. Most times it actually earns you the interview. However it doesn’t automatically earn you the job. You still have to prove yourself in coding interviews or technical sessions.
But getting that masters in Uk is of no serious advantage in Canada if it’s not from Oxford or Cambridge. Most of these employers don’t know your regular Uk school. In fact, you are better off with a degree from Toronto Met than you are with one from Leeds or City. So if you really wanna do the masters, which will certainly give you an edge in your application, try to do it in Canada, if your final destination is Canada.
But if you final aim is getting a job in Canada after PR, my suggestion will be to start applying first while doing your masters. Chances are that, if you can do the job well, you could score some interviews and land a role even before finishing your degree. |

I understand now....Thank you. ednut1: work experience is koko abroad / what you can do. Not your qualifications. You can have all the qualifications in the world and still know nothing about your job. Some of the bosses you may with work abroad have only attended secondary school cert. |

Thank you for replying. I haven't started the MSc program. I am just considering it. tousure: I think Nigerians are generally obsessed with qualifications and this is not the same thing in other countries. Is this your first MSc? |

Hello everyone,
Please, I have some questions that will need clarification from the elders in the house.
I am about to start my Canadian pr journey and this has been my plan for years, get the necessary work experience to increase my CRS score, and then start the application process. But recently I have been torn between going for MSc in data analytics in the UK and starting my Canadian pr journey.
My question is, for those that have moved to Canada in the last few years,
1) do you think not having an MSc in your chosen career has affected your chances of getting a job or a better-paying job in your field in Canada?
2) In the data science and analytics field, is MSc important.
Thank you as you answer my questions. |

Hello UtchayPro, The first step is to pay for the admission form and fill it online. After that, you will get a provisional admission. The next step is to upload the required credentials on NOUN'S website for verification. It is after doing this you would go to the study center of your choice to finish your registration and get your matric no. At the Ibadan study centre, these are the requirements: * I bought a postgraduate student file for #2,000. * I was required to make 5 photocopies each of all my credentials. * 9 passport photographs ( 4 for the file you bought and 5 for the photocopies. * The evidence of payment of transcript to the school you did you first degree is part of the requirements. * You are also required to print the transcript label from NOUN'S website. * Also note that birth certificate from a private hospital will not be accepted. These are the required documents to be uploaded and submitted at the study centre: * Admission form. * Admission letter. * O level result. * HND/ First degree certificate. * NYSC Certificate or Exemption. * Remita receipt for the payment of admission form. * Evidence of payment for transcript. * Birth certificate. * Transcript label printed from NOUN'S website. * Passport sized photograph. After your clearance you will get your matric number. UtchayPro: Hi Bibitayo, it's great to meet you here. Please I need all the help I can get with the registration process. Like I'm at level 0 at the moment. What xomes first before what? What documents do I need? When do I go to the study center? I need to start from the first thing, which is paying for the registration and then generating a receipt. How do I proceed from there, then pay school fees? Then get admission letter and verify my certificates?
Please send me a mail on uchennaanochilionye@gmail.com. I'd love to get your contact details if you don't mind so I can finish up my registration before the deadline. Thank you so kindly in advance. |

Good afternoon everyone,
Pls I have an urgent question.
I was at the Ibadan study centre today for my credentials verification and I was told that I need the evidence of payment for transcript from the institution I did my 1st degree.
Please for those that have gone through the process, If I pay for the transcript online through the remita platform and print the receipt ? Will it be accepted from me at the study center as evidence that I have requested for the transcript?
I am thinking of this so that I can get my matric number before the deadline. |

Good afternoon ma'am. I have some questions to ask about NOUN'S PGDE. specifically the school fees and the other miscellaneous amount it will cost me. Thank you in advance. Buzzgal: Good evening everyone.
I need clarity concerning registering elective courses for PGDE. There are two elective courses this semester. Am I to register both, seeing that I didn't do any elective course last semester?
If you are a PGDE student, how many courses did you register for this semester?
Kindly respond. I appreciate. |
