What's not to understand? It's a joint command of SOF from all 3 services of the Armed Forces: Army, Navy and Air Force. They're still each responsible for their own publicity within the Command.
Give it time, Nigeria will soon sort out her Special Forces environment.
It's not the joint command of SOF, from the 3 arms of the military.

The military special forces environment his well sorted with clear objectives.

Don't talk what you don't know.

CAS VISITS FRONTLINE TROOPS AS NAF EXPANDS MEDICAL FACILITIES IN YOLA, COMMISSIONS OTHER PROJECTS

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, today 26 May 2018, visited Nigerian Air Force (NAF) frontline troops serving in Yola. During the visit, he held interactive sessions with the officers and airmen/airwomen in the operational theatre during which he appreciated their sacrifices and also urged them to remain highly professional. The sessions also enabled him to receive direct feedbacks from the personnel and respond as necessary. Furthermore, the visit provided the opportunity to commission the recently expanded medical facilities at the 163 NAF Hospital Yola. The expansion entails the building of an additional ward, dedicated for officers’ use, and the procurement of additional medical equipment for the hospital. The expansion of the medical facilities followed the need to further improve medical care for the frontline personnel serving in Yola, who are playing a critical role in the ongoing counterinsurgency operation in the Northeast. The CAS led His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Honourable Martins Babale, and other dignitaries to commission the new ward in the hospital. Other projects across the collocated units at NAF Base Yola, all aimed at improving personnel welfare, were equally commissioned today. The projects include 2 blocks of 10 x one studio apartment for airmen/airwomen and 10 x one Single Officers’ Quarters for officers.

While commissioning the projects, the Adamawa State Governor noted, with satisfaction, the several developmental projects already witnessed at NAF Base Yola under the current NAF leadership. He added that not only had the projects gone a long way in boosting personnel welfare but also contributing to overall development in the State. He therefore commended Air Marshal Abubakar for his apparent commitment, resilience and prudent use of resources. He also urged the personnel to make judicious use of the new facilities while announcing that Adamawa State would continue to support the NAF to ensure the achievement of its goals, including attainment of security in the Northeast. He seized the opportunity to disclose that the State had secured the approval to build an airport at Mubi and that the airport would be collocated with the NAF Detachment in Mubi, to complement NAF efforts in the area.

In his remarks, the CAS stated that, as a way of realizing his vision for the NAF, the Service had been restructured for enhanced operational effectiveness. He further stated that necessary platforms and equipment were being acquired and reactivated while training was receiving optimum attention. He added that, in recognition of the importance of the human being, the welfare of personnel was also being considerably looked after, in line with the policy directive of President Buhari. According to him, that was why resources had been expended in building additional residential accommodation and expanding the medical facilities for the frontline personnel in Yola. He also disclosed plans to expand the NAF secondary school in Yola to ensure that the wards of the personnel and members of the host community receive quality education. He then thanked President Buhari for the immense support being given to the NAF. In addition, he thanked the Adamawa State Governor and the people of Adamawa State for their support and hospitality. He then promised that the NAF would continue to work with other security agencies in the State to enhance security in Adamawa State and environs.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander 153 Base Services Group Yola, Air Commodore Anthony Ndace, stated that it was heartwarming to note that the NAF leadership had made the welfare of personnel a priority, a development, which he noted had enhanced professionalism, commitment and optimum service delivery. The CAS and his team of officers from Headquarters NAF had since returned to Abuja.

NAF COMMISSIONS HEADQUARTERS COMPLEX, OTHER PROJECTS AT INSTITUTE OF SAFETY IN KADUNA

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), as part of its commitment to reposition the NAF into a highly professional force for effective service delivery, today, 25 May 2018, commissioned the Headquarters Complex and residential quarters for the Commandant, officers and airmen/airwomen of the NAF Institute of Safety (NAFIS) in Rigachikun Area of Kaduna. Also commissioned today were 2 x blocks of students’ hostels, 11 boreholes, a water station integrated with 300,000 litres ground tank and 100,000 litres overhead tank, auxiliary 6 x 3,000 litres reservoirs, 1.1 km asphalted road and over 2.2km drainage system. NAFIS was established to provide safety training and education to NAF personnel and students of other nationalities and international aviation organizations. With today’s commissioning, NAFIS now has a befitting permanent location and is set to properly focus on the conduct of a more comprehensive and inclusive safety training for NAF personnel, sister Services, other security Services, ministries, departments and agencies of the 3 tiers of government as well as non-governmental organizations, within and outside Nigeria.

While commissioning the new facilities, the Guest of Honour and former Director General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), retired Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Audu-Bida, stated that the decision of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, to embark on such a massive project attests to his infrastructural development drive across the NAF. He therefore commended the NAF leadership for being able to execute projects nationwide while still keeping its aircraft flying. He further stated that the efforts of the CAS in creating a conducive environment for the conduct of safety courses at NAFIS is in tandem with the policy directive of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, to ensure that members of the armed forces are well trained. He recalled that, in the past, NAF officers were usually sent overseas to attend safety courses at huge costs to the nation. He therefore praised the NAF leadership for ensuring the full establishment of NAFIS, as the nation stood to gain a lot from foreign exchange savings while still adequately providing safety training.

In his remarks, the CAS stated that the establishment of the NAFIS has brought security closer to the residents of Rigachikun and its environs while also creating employment opportunities for the locals. According to Air Marshal Abubakar, the commissioning was made possible by the immense support the NAF has been enjoying from the Federal Government. The CAS therefore, expressed the profound gratitude of the NAF to President Buhari and reminded personnel to justify the enormous resources being expended on the Service. According to him, “In particular, you have a responsibility to ensure adequate and sustained maintenance of the various infrastructure in all our barracks. As a Service, we must strive to meet the expectations of the country at this time of insecurity by protecting the citizenry and our critical assets as well as bringing succour to the despaired as we discharge our constitutional responsibilities to the nation”.

In his welcome address, the Commandant of the Institute, Air Commodore Edward Adedokun, recalled the myriad of challenges that had militated against the actualization of the Institutes objectives noting that there has been a great departure from the stagnated posture of the Institute since the present leadership of the NAF came on board almost 3 years ago. The flagship course of the Institute is the Flight Officers’ Safety Course for pilots and flight engineers. The Institute also runs Occupational Health and Safety Course for personnel from various disciplines including administrators, intelligence operators, police, technicians, finance specialists, Works personnel and several others.

LOYOLA JESUIT STUDENTS URGED TO CONSIDER MILITARY CAREER

The Acting Chief of Defence Civil Military Cooperation (CDCMC), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) ABC Nweze has advised the students of Loyola Jesuit College Abuja, to consider in the career military to enable them contribute their quota in defending the territorial integrity of the country.

AVM Nweze, gave the advice recently when he played host to the Junior Secondary School (JSS) three students of the college, who were on a career excursion to the Defence Headquarters (DHQ).

This is part of efforts aimed at preparing them for career prospects as they commenced their Senior Secondary education next academic session. Meanwhile, the visit to DHQ was to inspire the students to choose a career in the military while gaining firsthand knowledge on the constitutional roles of the Armed Forces.

The CDCMC, who represented the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Gabriel Abayomi Olonisakin, encouraged the students to join the military which he said is a noble profession, with lots of benefits.

He added that serving the nation through the military is a patriotic duty. He described the major task of the Armed Forces to include defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and providing aid to civil authority. “We have great fulfilment on our part to secure lives and properties. It is our responsibility to protect the integrity of Nigeria,’’ AVM Nweze said.

Earlier in her remark, the College Guardian and Counsellor, Revered Sister Maureen Obineze, who led the students and other staff members, said that it was customary for students of JSS 3 to embark on career excursion to organizations like the military, with a view to drive their passion in any profession.

She commended the selfless sacrifices of the military towards national security while expressing her appreciation to the CDS for the warm reception accorded the students.

During the excursion, the students were enlightened on the roles and responsibilities of DHQ, its organizational structure, operational activities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and a brief career talk on the Nigerian Army, Navy and Air Force.

The students were informed about the enlistment and recruitment into the commissioned and non-commissioned officers’ cadres. They were equally told that discipline is the bedrock of the military and were encouraged to develop passion for the Armed Forces as a patriotic Nigerian.
