Was wondering about that actually. In the breakdown of the navy's capital budget, items like: procurement of 1x 38m seaward defence boats were listed as ongoing. Meaning the procurement process was on. Also, 'balance of funds for 3x 24m OCEA boats' was also listed as ingoing thus the process was completed and payment was ongoing.
The jf17 however, was listed as new procurement both in last years budget and this years budget.
I think either the funds were not realeased, or the procurement process didn't start like it was supposed to. Or its a new set of 3 jets under a different contract.
(I don't want to mention the thought of repeated items in the budget to inflate figures for looting).
Until then fingers crossed.

Our lyrics I don't know when will get the super tucanos, No specific date when it will look be delivered huh

I take exception to..."cheap aircrafts". I emphasize they are not cheap aircrafts. They are good value for money considering the capabilities they bring to bear for that price—A price impossible for western aircraft with comparable capabilities.

The NAF knows what its buying. A lot of developments is still going into that aircraft accounting for the delay so far. This smart buying is what Trump is now teaching the Americans. It's a waste buying overpriced birds.
Am not saying they are not good.

My point his if we are buying F16's or Mig35's, how many years would it take us to land them.

The budget indicates its a NEW project so, unless someone messes things up somewhere, this would be the first time we are actually going to PAY for the procurement
In the last year budget 3 jf 17 was paid for.

So these suppose to be part payment/balance or for 3 additional jf17 jets.

Sorry for the poor image. Its a screenshot of a PDF file from my phone. 3 of our long awaited jets in the budget. Fingers crossed
Yeah we aware about the 3 X jf17 fighter jets but how long his it going to take in procuring such cheap aircrafts, it's quite annoying.

Don't mix things up, am not saying the AHSG guys are Pakistani trained or not. The AHSG was born
when the Army saw the effectiveness of the MSF, then it created the Army Headquarter Strike Group(AHSG) .
Now not only NA personnel where trained in Pakistan, there are NN and NAF personnel has well.

Presently now AFSF and larger percentage of AHSG are Pakistani trained, Do you get my point .

Okay you're saying only the AFSF is the only special unit in theatre
Both unit are still in the theatre.

What am saying is they are rotated. You might not see much presence of the SBSC. The AFSF boots In the N.E are the one trained in Pakistan

I know AFSf is in theatre

The SBS is in theatre too (Lake Chad), 111 SFBn( the ones that knocked out Boko's rocket manufacturing centre). Pray tell, isn't there an overlap/duplication of mission seeing 2/3 of the units in theatre are active in CTCOIN/COIN

Hope you get my drift
Yes I get your point.

Those SBS guys that knocker out BHT rocket factories are back to there respective base, most of them has spent over 3-4 years in the north east theatre. So there is no duplication of mission seeing.

For the AFSF boots on ground are mostly the Pakistani trained ones.

The ONSA isn't that all encompassing as you put it, there has been bones hanging out of that body here and there. However, I am not concerned about ONSA at all but the AFSF. Seeing that some special units still exist in theatre,it is quite confusing what the role/mission is in the array of things
The AFSF are still very much in the North East theatre.

Dude, you just repeated the exact same thing he said.

How then did he get it all wrong?

Funny thing is, i'm not even one to support that individual.
CAPITAL NO.
.He said ; That the Nigerian Armed Forces Special Forces (AFSF) comprises SF from the Army, Navy and Air Force

And am telling him the AFSF does not comprise of SF the NA,NAF & NN only. In fact they are minority.

He also claimed- SF environment will soon get sorted out?

DHQ DEVELOPS NEW VETERAN ADMINISTRATION MODEL, FUSE ASSOCIATIONS

The Nigerian Military Veterans have resolved to come together under a proposed umbrella body to be named Veterans Federation of Nigeria (VFN) to replace the existing Nigerian Legion. This unification was part of the communiqué reached at the end of a three-day workshop organized by the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) for military retirees held in Abuja from 21-23 May 2018.
The workshop tagged, “Unification of Veterans’ Association in Nigeria: A Panacea for Building a Vibrant Veterans Association,’’ was well attended by the leaderships of the various affiliated veterans’ associations across the country.
The workshop was the first of its kind and an initiative of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), which addressed the issue of effective veterans’ management and administration system and the welfare of military retirees.
Speaking at the workshop, CDS, General Gabriel Olonisakin who was the Special Guest of Honour, said the idea behind the workshop is to promote the unity and welfare of veterans while in retirement. He explained that the proliferation of veteran associations in the country has hampered the progress of military retirees.
According to the CDS, “it is our desire to see the emergence of a single unified body for effective management and administration of all our military veterans.”He added that the proposed veteran system would be a legacy that will not only benefit the military retirees but also those still in active service as government would seek to adequately address issues of veterans welfare.
The CDS recalled that the quest to seek a robust veteran administration was mooted last year. “Thus, as part of our efforts to improve the administration of our veterans, I approved a team to visit Egypt in December 2017 to study the Egyptian model of veteran administration. He said while the Team recommendations are being considered, “the DHQ organized the workshop to fashion out an appropriate veteran administration model in Nigeria.’’
General Olonisakin, described the Nigerian Armed Forces as “the pride of the nation,” adding that the military have been the stronghold of the nation despite contentious trends that often threaten the unity of the country.
He said aside from defending the territorial integrity of the nation, support to civil authority as well as maintenance of international peace and security, the Armed Forces is an embodiment of qualified personnel who can also contribute to national development.
The CDS also congratulated the participants for a successful deliberation, noting that “the outcome of the workshop will certainly be the basis of future engagements on the way forward for military veteran association which is the proposed Veteran Federation of Nigeria.”
Earlier, the Director of Veteran Affairs Division, Major General Edward Obi while welcoming the participants to the workshop, appreciated the country’s patriots, especially the Civil War veterans for what he described as “greatest sacrifice of self for the peace, security and development of the country.” He further stated that their sense of patriotism is never in doubt and does not end with the termination of active service.
Major General Obi who commended the CDS for initiating the workshop, explained that it is expected to form the nucleus for the attainment of the standards that is obtainable in countries where veterans are highly respected and accorded privileges.
A paper on the “Imperative for Unification of Veterans’ Association in Nigeria was delivered by Major General SD Aliyu Retired. While two other papers titled: “Veterans’ Administration in the 21st Century: The United Kingdom and the Egypt Experience,'' were delivered by Brigadier General Charlie Calber, the British Defence Attaché to Nigeria and Major General Umar Retired.
