If it helps you sleep at night. You weren't the only one in the field. Nothing you said is unknown. We are talking of where fighting has been strongest lately. And to drown your defiance to reality that there was more proliferation of remote dug in FOBs how come about Metele. Pls shed some light. How come fewer FOBs can't be held by the Army as opposed to when we had more FOBs.
Same as you......
Even where the fighting as been predominant, the numbers of F.O.B and military presence/operation has been reduced.

ARMY RECONSTRUCTS BRIDGE
On August 5, 2019, you will recall that a pedestrian bridge collapsed at ATBU and three students lost their lives. Here, the Nigerian Army is fulfilling her promise of building a standard bridge across the stream in which the students drowned. Thank you our able and gallant soldiers for being true to your promise.

PRESS RELEASE

TROOPS AMBUSH TERRORISTS, 3 terrorists neutralized, Recover Arms & Ammunition in Gwoza Axis

Following credible information from some patriotic Nigerians about terrorists movement along Banki Road Junction, Pulka in Gwoza general area, troops of Special Response Area (SRA) Pulka under the Nigerian Army Super Camp Gwoza, in collaboration with Civilian Joint Task Force conducted a successful night ambush on Thursday 3rd October 2019, which resulted in the neutralization of 3 terrorists, recovery of 2 AK 47 Rifles and 2 motor cycles. Uncomfirmed number of terrorists were reportedly wounded during the ambush. There is no casualty on the Nigerian Army or Civilian JTF.

Items recovered by troops include 2 X AK 47 rifles and 2 X bicycles.

Similarly, at about 2250 hours on 3rd October 2019, in what seems like a repraisal attack to avenge the lost of their members in the ambush conducted by the troops, some marauders/criminals woefully attacked the Delta Company Location of the SRA at Pulka. Consequently, troops swiftly responded by effectively repelling the attack, one bandit lost his life and one Ak 47 rifle was recovered. No casualty was recorded by the Civ JTF or the troops.

The Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation LAFIYA DOLE Brigadier General AK Ibrahim was in SRA Pulka where he interacted with the troops, commended them for the successes so far and urged them to remain committed and unwavering in the struggle to end the insurgency soon.

There were but are u telling me the military dominated Borno north like it did under Buhari?
Let me burst your bubbles.
We had many military base/F.O.B back then than now. Honestly I shouldn't be arguing with you. During the heat of the war three states where affected, so the field of of operation lafia dole was wide in terms of operational field to cover.
Since BHT was pushed some of these F.O.B as been closed and even the numbers we use to have then in Borno as been reduced.

Yes I know but there were no military structures to be knocked down 2011 - 2015 like u had 2017 - 2019 with remote FOBs. What you had were barren civilian towns with little military presence except for some few major camps like Baga. And speaking of humiliation, Baga happened again under Buhari. We are where we were before only this time the bad news is it is the military that is been put on the back foot not civilians.
Says who.....?
Stop arguing dude, who told you there where no military structures/formations with remote F.O.B

John Campbell has been keeping track of civilian casualties it's no secret and for ulterior motives mostly to spite the prowess of the Nigerian Army. But ISWAP is not interested in civilian body count as Shekau's faction is and ISWAP is the game in town knocking down military outposts in quick succession leading to high casualty rates of our soldiers which is a strategic attempt by them to occupy the North-East unchallenged. That to me is an even greater danger than Boko haram.
Did you know how BHT humiliated and knock down military post way back in 2011 to 2015?

Generals Ihejirika, Irabor, Ezugwu. Arguably Minimah who should be credited with stemming the tide in acts of insubordination to advance. The combination of Generals Leo Irabor and Ezugwu as CDS and COAS respectively should change the dynamics of this war quickly. But we can't discountenace the current Air Chief who I think is best suited for CDS. He's a warrior.
With what youve said it shows you have not been following some event in these war or you're just been biased....!
Where was irabor and Ezugwu during the heat of the battle .....? One general then I so much respect is Genteral Adeosun and yet his still standing and doing well till now.
He was the G.O.C. Div 7; his responsible for pushing out BHT back to Lake Chad fringes when GEJ was contesting for the 2nd time.
Irabor and Ezugwu are fine generals and soldiers but they where not part of the army top Brass in operation lafia dole during the dark days.
Minimah strategies during the war was calamity.

I never believed boko haram could overrun bama. Anything can happen in this battle. Don't bet your money on this present Nigeria military, morale in the northern part of borno is low.
Youve been a keen follower of these thread and other related threads you shouldn't be talking like this ....?
Have you all forgotten the dark days; how many times Bama was taken by BHT. Talking about morale in the 2011 -2015 it was below - 0.0. This is what I personally witness, dude don't let us argue.
Only if siriusblack 1st thread was not pulled down, most of you new guys here would still have access to some stories that really tarnished the image of the Nigerian military back then.

Lol... Are soldiers still fleeing from boko haram or not? Are there still refugees camp in borno or not? What was buhari promise before he became the president? Boko haram is controlling 8 out of 10 local government in borno north.
Dude just do a little bit of research okay. Am not a big fan of GEJ but am still not happy from Buhari achievements in the ongoing war against BHT. I was excepting much from him as a retired military man, yet has dealt with BH more than GEJ.

Nope.... angry the current of the water changes unpredictable.
The best way to handle these type of terrain is to send in troops by foot and carry out there objective. You might pull them out military grade fast boats.
Sneak in, hit the enemy and pulled them out fast.

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany --

The 4th Combat Training Squadron assigned to the Warrior Preparation Center at Einsiedlerhof Air Station, Germany, hosted Nigerian and Tunisian service members for the first iteration of a new two-week course, Sept. 9-20.

The Africans participated in the first Air to Ground Integration Course as part of a $300 million congressionally approved funding program. The course develops air to ground integration capabilities with African nation partners.

“Air to Ground integration is the coordinated air attack by fixed wing and rotary aircraft against hostile targets,” said Capt. Matthew Roberts, 4th CTS chief of plans and programs.

The United States is committed to partnering with African countries to address compatible strategic security objectives, added Staff Sgt. Roger Frederick, 4th CTS tactical air party craftsman.

Those objectives include combating destabilizing issues and violent extremist activities which could threaten regional security, Frederick continued.

“A course like this is important for interoperability,” said Roberts. “We need to be able to deploy air power forward across any continent with any of our partners and conduct the same operational and training possibilities downrange.”

The course consisted of a week of classroom studies, a week of simulator training, and a capstone event where airmen controlled aircraft on a range.

U.S. Air Forces Africa acts as a reliable military partner in Africa. They seek to be the security partner of choice by working with partnered security forces based on their operational needs, Frederick said.

“This course actually provides two-way learning,” Frederick said. “I know have a better understanding of how Nigeria employs their air force and it’s opened up perspective on how they integrate. I can take the lessons they’ve taught me and apply it to future scenarios.”

AFAFRICA conducts multilateral and mil-to-mil engagements and security assistance with African air forces in order to build aviation capacities, enhance regional cooperation, and increase interoperability.
Nice pictures @rka2 and the story behind them.

NAF GETS FIRST EVER FEMALE AIR WARRANT OFFICER AS CAS APPROVES PROMOTION OF MWO GRACE GARBA

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has approved the promotion of Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Grace Tabawa Garba to the exalted rank of Air Warrant Officer (AWO). With the promotion, MWO Garba becomes the first female Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) to be promoted to the highest rank in the Non-Commissioned Officers’ cadre in the Armed Forces of Nigeria. The SNCO, who has put in not less than 33 years of outstanding meritorious service to the Nation, was found worthy to be promoted to the rank of AWO for her exemplary leadership qualities, hard work as well as her contributions to the Service over the years.

The promotion demonstrates the commitment of the current NAF leadership in paying adequate attention to the empowerment of female personnel to realize their full potentials. It would be recalled that one of the NAF's female officers was sent to the United States of America for training to become the first female fighter pilot in the history of the NAF. Similarly, for the first time in NAF history, another female pilot is on the verge of completing training to become the first female helicopter pilot in the Service. It is expected that the promotion of MWO Garba to AWO would serve as a motivation and spur other airwomen in the Service to strive for excellence and aspire for such rare elevation.

Born on 14 February 1966 in Garkida, Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State, MWO Grace Garba joined the NAF in 1986 as a member of Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 10. She holds a Certificate in Nursing from School of Nursing, Maiduguri, Certificate in Midwifery from Amhadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria Kaduna State, Certificate in Public Health Nursing from School of Health Technology, Kaduna and Advanced Diploma in Public Administration at the Federal University of Technology, Yola. She is currently the Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the NAF School of Medical Sciences and Aviation Medicine (NAFSMSAM), Kaduna. She will be decorated with the new rank on 15 October 2019.
