@seun. There is a lot wrong with nairaland/threads apart from the downtime. People derailing thread discussions and to my dissatisfaction the "rules button numbers" are no more working. Covert1: And the larger perspective is to restructure the country which your president Buhari promised but reneged upon assuming power like he reneged on everything else like the 5000 NGN for unemployed youths and 1 dollar to the Naira etc. That speaks of his integrity.
You noticed I don't join issues with u whether sentimental or emotional cos the facts speak for themselves. This country is badly run and enormous powers are vested in the presidency to change that and you don't give excuses when elected, you change for the better what you find on ground. Buhari has had four years yet still blaming those four years on others. If Obasanjo did that we would not have paid off the Paris Club Debts or ever launched our first satellite or brought GSM to Nigeria. If Yar'Adua and Jonathan did that there would not have been a Nigeria for Buhari to rule. The truth is this APC government is evil.
We have only retrogressed under Buhari not progressed. We come here and sing praises of our military but those are individualistic efforts of patriots like Air Marshal Abubakar and the troops on the ground not the leadership of the country. How can a country of Nigeria's size not be flying fifth generation aircraft by now or modern Frigates and Destroyers. Something not impossible with the right leadership. People are quick to crucify the PDP but it was the PDP administrations that gave us our first stealth warships/OPVs, T-72s, F-7s, Mi-35s, SBS, satellites, increased NIA & SSS funding and even Abuja to a large extent. Yet APC propaganda tell us they did these things, something they already met on the table.
I tell you with all the PDP corruption say Atiku were president instead of Buhari you can expect to see major start up funding of some 5 billion dollars for our military with a shopping list for modern armaments and we wouldn't have had to wait for 4 months for a ministerial list of half dead men. Abubakar Atiku already had his economic adviser Prof. Chike doing the rounds with detailed plans of his programs for all sectors of the economy including the military. Atiku even had an agreement with our elders from North to South to restructure the country. I use Atiku cos he had a better chance of winning a fair election. Tinubu wan be president by force so a sick man must be foisted on us by all means to that end. I hope you try to read the intelligence between the lines. If you know how these evil men seek to stranglehold this country you would not only call for revolution you will call for worse.
Look at our young queuing at embassies to run. A country is only as strong as it's people. Instead of supporting mediocrity everyone should be ashamed we are were we are today. Na only una country dem still dey take light like this. We should be ashamed. And I am. I don't even bragg with fellow Africans anymore. Infact a Kenyan once asked me why the lights are out in Nigeria. You can imagine the shame.
Dey support Tinubu. Let another government enter power and let's see how visionary he is. Wait until dem open his wardrobe. Tinubu has basically confiscated Lagos like 19th century America where the mob ruled. The APC is a mob party. Brazen stealing of an election in broad daylight with military suppression and mobsters. Be bold to say you are a Tinubu man. It is self evident which is why you support bad leadership.
Pls abeg let's tell ourselves the truth and challenge the status quo. Enough is enough. It's time to fight back.
@covert1 you have to take your politics else where or go create a thread for it, enough of your off topic discussion.

EXERCISE CAMP HIGHLAND ENDS IN KONTAGORA, AMIDST PLANS TO EXTEND EXERCISE TO OTHER PARTS of NIGERIA
The Exercise Camp Highland for final year cadets of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA)has concluded at Kontagora, Niger State, with plans to extend the exercise to other parts of the country to give cadets a more diverse training experience.
This information was revealed by the Commandant NDA, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade, during the closing ceremonies of the exercise at Kontagora. According to him, this was necessary in order for the cadets to be adequately acquainted to all different terrains possible so that they could function optimally in any military operation. "On my assumption of command at NDA, I presented a plan to the NDA Council to have different training grounds for our cadets training. And it was approved", he said.
" The essence is that on commission, we would have different courses who are trained in different terrains exchanging ideas on how to go about any challenges they encounter in an operation" he added.
The Commandant, who noted that over the past 40 years, the training exercise has primarily been conducted around the Jos - Kaduna axis, gave assurances that this new trend will make the cadets more ready for deployment to tackle security challenges in the country.
"I assure the leadership of our country and the leadership of the military that these cadets, on commission, have been trained adequately and given the necessary fundamental training to be able to carry out tactical operations at whatever level and they have been sufficiently trained to deploy and to conduct operations in the face of the security challenges we face now, essentially asymmetric warfare, kidnapping, banditry and others", he revealed.
Speaking at the Battle Inoculation and Fire Power phase of the exercise, the Executive Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello, buttressed the need for joint military operations in forest areas of the state in order to reduce banditry attacks, cattle rustling and kidnapping accros the state. While noting that Niger State has large forests areas that have become hideouts for bandits assured that his administration is ready to partner with security agencies that want to conduct extensive military exercises in the state.
Earlier, NDA's Director of Military Training, Brigadier General Victor Onumajuru disclosed that the aim of the exercise is to give the officer cadets basic experience of tactical military manoeuvres carried out in land operations. He praised the efforts of the current NDA Commandant for his foresight and vision in ensuring the cadets are exposed to all kinds of terrains in the country, noting that on commission these cadets can quickly deploy and fight to win.
The Exercise Camp Highland which for cadets of 66 Regular Course, 67 Regular Course and Short Service Course 45 had a total of six hundred and thirty five cadets participate in all activities during the exercise. Of this number, forty-four were female cadets.
Henry240: The current CAS is trying his best, but we can all see that he does not have money to spend.
So he's making judicious use of the money he has. The last time, he was begging the senate to help fund deals.
Look at the procurements he has done, he goes for platforms that are multirole. The AW-139K, Super Tucano, JF-17 and MI-35M.
In 2014, NAF base was attacked and 2 MI-24 aircrafts and MIG-21s were burned down. In response to this he pushed for heavy investment in the NAF Regiment and Panther units to not only force protect, but to actively seek out on destroy enemy elements before the can launch an attack.
Yet you have the likes of SSBN ranting unnecessarily to the contrary.
Toju200: NAF FIGHTER JETS DESTROY HIDEOUTS, NEUTRALIZE TERRORISTS AT ALAFA IN BORNO STATE
In continuation of its sustained efforts to wipe out remnants of Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) in the Northeast of Nigeria, the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has destroyed a BHT hideout and killed some fighters at Alafa on the fringes of the Sambisa Forest in Borno State. The air strike was conducted yesterday, 1 August 2019, following Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that revealed the presence of the terrorists, along with their logistics supplies and equipment, in a group of structures within the settlement.
Accordingly, the ATF dispatched 2 Alpha Jets to attack the location, scoring accurate hits in the target area, which led to the destruction of some of the structures and equipment as well as the killing of several terrorists.
The NAF, operating in concert with surface forces, will sustain its operations against the terrorists in the Northeast.

SamuelAnyawu: Please how can the Nigeria Army or Airforce bring down enemy drones? Several times here i have seen the military shooting up at drones Bokoharam uses in Spying and Monitoring the Barracks here
You're talking about quadcopters right ? There are anti-drone guns that the NA authorities could buy for every barrack/military Base or forward operating Base to shoot down these spy drones. It's just pathetic that these kind of stuffs is still happening and our top brass are still applying the traditional ways of handling such happenings.
Nigerian Army has unveiled four (4) Mine Resistant Anti Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicle designed and manufactured in Nigeria in partnership with Proforce Limited on 1 August 2019. Nigeria's Chief of Defence Staff General AG Olonisakin commissions the vehicles at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre Asokoro Abuja. The MRAP vehicles are a result of collaboration between the Nigerian Army and Proforce Limited and is in line with the local content policy of the Federal Government of Nigeria and the desire of the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TY Buratai for the Army to be self relent and the need to develop indigenous production of Defence hardwares/military industrial complex.
Check out @JoeWSJ’s Tweet: https://twitter.com/JoeWSJ/status/1156853004848500737?s=09[/quote]PRESS RELEASE THERE ARE NO SECRET GRAVEYARDS IN THE NORTH EAST THEATRE The Defence Headquarters has noted with dismay an Online Article by “Wall Street Journal” purporting that the Nigerian Military maintains secret graveyards in the North East theatre of operation. This insinuation can only emanate from an uninformed position of the author of the said publication. It therefore becomes necessary to inform the public that the Armed Forces of Nigeria has a rich and solemn tradition for the interment of our fallen heroes. Therefore, it must be unambigously clarified that the Armed Forces of Nigeria does not indulge in secret burials, as it is sacrilegious and a profanity to extant ethos and traditions of the Nigerian military. In tandem with the traditions of the Armed Forces, Fallen heroes are duly honoured and paid the last respect in befitting military funeral of international standard, featuring funeral parade, grave site oration, solemn prayers for the repose of departed souls by Islamic and Christian clerics, as well as gun salutes, aside other military funeral rites. The cemetery described in the publication, which is situated in Maimalari military Cantonment is an officially designated military cemetery for the Armed Forces of Nigeria in the North East theatre, with a Cenotaph erected in honour of our fallen heroes. The official cemetery has played host to several national and international dignitaries, where wreaths were laid in honour of the fallen heroes. It is therefore a far cry from the sacrilegious impression being painted by “Wall Street Journal”. The Defence Headquarters therefore urges members of the Armed Forces and the general public to disregard such a misinformed publication and see it as a figment of the imagination of the writer, whose knowledge of military valued ethos and traditions is grossly misplaced. Thank you for your cooperation.

SLBMS: I ain't got time to engage you in your pettiness. Your problem is whoever does not subscribe to your view what do you do next? You start digging up history and throwing petty jabs. Continue searching for the "wack" video, at least I make videos, I write articles.....what exactly can you do Me Bidexi besides posting the same crap from NAF Twitter pages day in day out. What content can you formulate on your own? Zero. Because for people like your there is no middle ground...ain't gonna waste more of my time replying to your childish response

In Pictures Success recorded by our gallant Military Monday Night . Successes recorded by our gallant Military yesterday where they repelled the attack of the insurgents in Benisheikh town .
Henry240: WARSAW, Poland — Bulgaria’s Council of Ministers has approved four draft agreements with the United States for a total of almost $1.3 billion to acquire eight F-16 jets and related equipment from Lockheed Martin
Bulgaria will pay 1.3 Billion dollars for just 8 units of F-16 jets.
GabrielYulaw: He does contribute something. Rather than blindly accepting the same old sh1t he challenges them with convincing arguments and offers solid solutions for our current security mess. Why not counter his arguments one by one if they are crap.
Did you check the last two or three pages behind and see his senseless arguments. I did counter his claims but he argues blindly and I can see his so lazy to even make research online before posting rubbish the same shit you're subscribing too. If the thread is boring to you or him you could create one and let's see how easy it his; bringing in new contents, posting images etc.
This is the dumb guy that said the super tucano is a misplaced priority and he did a video claiming ""NAF CATCHES UP WITH SAAF".
I checked his YouTube channel most of the video he posted has been deleted, simply because his videos are wacked and is here calling the thread content boring and repeated, yet he comes to the boring thread to post his useless video. Dude don't just jump into an argument like that, read his past comments before spitting shit
