Gentlelord: ISWAP has striking and overrunning bases repeatedly to loot ammunitions and arms, I feel these guys are planning something VERY VERY big, but what is it? we all don't know Of course they the hunting season for the NA is around the corner, they are preparing for it. |

Odunayaw: First, we thank God for your safety!
Second, WTH is wrong with the Army!!! Good Pete!! When will they learn that fire power at the Squad & Platoon level is very vital! One would expect by now that MGLs are used at the Sectional level & we have Heavy weapons companies wielding the big stick -AGLs. Are the Brass so dumb about AREA AFfECT weapons?
The SF shouldn't be some bailout team mopping up after these goddamn incompetent brass fa! And the bad thing is that we are loosing men from the AFSF in numbers. Last week alone, we lost 4 AFSF guys. |

allexpensive: Bokoharam tactics now is hit hard. Capture Ammunitions and fall out of the area. Gudumbali now under our control.
My question? Where did over 300 bokoharam go after the attack? If ISWAP can strike a whole local government, why can't the military on an offensive dislodge them out of their own location?
I'm only concerned about the stolen weapons. They're gearing up for something but who am I? Just a WC.
I have been under an intense fire fight with these bastards but as it is, what I have learnt is then know who they're attacking. They know these guys on ground are armed with riffles, gun trucks and RPG.
They come with grenade launchers, rocket etc. My question why is grenade launcher in limited use by our own? Proper usage of these equipments is also necessary too. My opinion is, find a way to put SF with some of these guys with limited coin experience.
I have been with MSF and came under attack at our temporary location. First thing you do is to spread out. Everyone knows the right place to face. Repelling the attack heavily with gun trucks, mortars from my side and GL from the msf. How long will we allow there tactics to dictate ours, Indirectly we are arming them. Secondly where did over 300-500 BHT disappeared to Are they ghost. |

persius555: They make it look like BH are armed bandits. With all the footage on the internet one would expect a convincing narrative of what went down, instead it's the usual edit, copy and paste tactics.
The army can do better than this. |

Henry240: The Nigerian Army has released a statement.
It's a shame the Nigerian army could stoop to this level of telling fantasies and lies.

jakeporeshenko: All of your saying the army ordered withdrawal are forgetting that it’s thesame army that just recently returned IDPs to that Gurumbali promising them safety and security, so the same army withdrew from their positions and left civis to die or what ?
And if Indeed the army did withdraw, what the heck were Boko boys shooting PKMs and RPGs at in their video ? Recently IDP that just returned back to there homes where kidnapped in Borno, on there way home. For its not safe for now to return the IDP back to there settlement. |

persius555: If that's the case, is it it safe to say the base was abandoned because it was poorly manned and in order to save face the best option would be to abandon the base to avoid heavy casualty.
Three days is enough to prep serious air offensive. True, if BH had captured some serious arms, by now they would be doing some bling bling showoff all over the internet by now. But if there was three days HUMINT before the attack, then this is some serious flaws on their end. We should be taking full advantage at this point to deal some serious blows. Not only a serious block . Incompetence on the part of our top brass. |

iblawi: People complain like babies here sha. Fighting terrorist is not the same as fighting bandits.
If the military got info. 3 days before, the town was also deserted as at the time of the attack, the boys on ground were also asked to retreat and even directed out of the area by NAF plane and most of you think they know nothing about it?
It's not about the approach, the military cares about result.
All i see here is more like a Honeypot. You guys should relax abeg. We go hear story soon. So what about the large cache of weapons and equipment left behind, from my sources BHT carted away with bounty of them. We can't be fighting these jerkass like that. Indirectly harming bokoharam to fight and prolonging the fight. |

persius555: I guess its cheaper on the long run to allow the camp be raided by BHT and then subsequently carry out a well co-ordinated counter offensive to flush them out.
Three days notice is more than enough time to get the three arms of military prepare for an offensive. They had a Humint intelligence prior(3 days) to the attack according to three different source I have heard now. The town was totally deserted when th people heard about the attack, what sort of intelligence do they need again. It's just that our top brass as these lackadaisical attitude in carrying out there duties. |

jakeporeshenko: They also conduct thier own independent opps so they can’t always be there to bail out the army and provide CAS during an attack. simple solution: approve and fasttract procurement of offensive air platforms for the army air wing (attack helos like the t-129), not silly light scout helicopters that generals will turn to battlefield Uber. Like say you they read my mind.. |

The speed with which the security forces lost control of strategic Gudumbali was striking. Contacts say civilians were given heads up prior to the assault. Apparently streets were deserted and some were already moving outta town 3 days back |

The army/ground troops needs the airforce intervention in situation like these than more concentration given deep air-strike interdiction. |

persius555: Just like the previous government, this govt is too contented managing this war rather than bringing it to an end. I doubt if there is any town in Niger, Chad or Cameroon that BH currently occupies. Nigeria is the loose end. BH feels so comfy attacking our military bases rather than the neighbouring countries.
This time tomorrow, one would expect that gudumbali would be severely air raided. |

NAF CONTINUES OPERATION THUNDER STRIKE 2, DESTROYS BOKO HARAM HIDEOUTS IN KOLLARAM, BULA KOREGE
As Operation THUNDER STRIKE 2 entered Day 5 yesterday, 7 September 2018, the Air Task Force (ATF) for Operation LAFIYA DOLE recorded another set of successful air interdiction missions against Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) targets at Kollaram on the Lake Chad Green fringes as well as Bula Korege within Sambisa Forest. The attack at Kollaram was conducted following successive days of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, coupled with Human Intelligence reports, that led to the identification of a BHT hideout within the settlement. Accordingly, the ATF detailed a fighter aircraft to attack the insurgents’ hideout which was destroyed and several BHTs killed.
Further ISR missions had also observed significant BHT presence in the middle of Bula Korege on the fringes of Sambisa Forest, with several buildings identified as locations where some BHT leaders reportedly resided. Consequently, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet aircraft and 2 helicopter gunships were detailed to carry out air interdiction at the location. The attacks by the fighter jets destroyed about 12 BHT dwellings and several solar panels in the area of interest. A few BHT survivors were seen fleeing the area and appropriately engaged by the Mi-35M helicopter gunships. The NAF will sustain the momentum of the operation with a view to decimating the remnants of the insurgents.
