Politics / Re: FG To Generate 4,000MW Electricity From Coal by BigBenoski(m): 10:14am On Jul 08, 2013
jackbauersballs: From Coal?

In this day and age where most countries are looking to reduce their carbon footprints, Naija wants to fire up the Coal Factories...

Lol una for even use firewood join...Olodo FG
the major problem with coal isn't even the carbon, atleast we still have adequate plant plant population here to help. The major problem with coal is the sulphur iv oxide gas it spews. This gas is the major cause of the highly destructive classic smog among other health and environmental problems. China is the only country still toying with coal (and india maybe) and they are so desperate to move away from it because of what it's doing to them. Do we even have people who can advice these people on environmental matters? Or have we just been paying lip service to the issue of sustainable development?

Education / A Thread For Researchers by BigBenoski(m): 10:18am On May 17, 2013
Greetings great nairalanders! I have benefited immensely from this forum and will like to give back a little. I have noticed that a lot of researchers, especially students run into a lot of problems in the course of their research. Many don’t know how best to design their research to make some scientific sense, some don’t know what to do with data when they start arriving, some can’t even source for relevant journals to aid their research.... The consequences of these are poorly designed research works, time and money wastage, resort to copy and paste etc. This thread aims but not limited to
• Guide researchers on the best ways to approach their areas of interest
• Guide researchers on how to source for academic materials or provide such for them if available
• Offer researchers technical assistance in difficult areas
• Advice researchers on how best to analyze and report their data using appropriate statistical tools
• Guide researchers on how to prepare their papers for publication
• Serve as a meeting point for lovers of research to exchange information
I know there are great minds here so please let’s help make this work. We can start by declaring interest and stating our areas of specialization. When questions come in, persons who specialize in such areas would proffer solutions. These solutions, of course would be debated by authorities in the area and refined. No one knows it all. Someone said ‘you start dying immediately you stop learning’. We can all learn from someone.
NB: It’s sickening to see the poo our students churn out as ‘projects’. It has become a norm for them to run to other school libraries to photocopy other person’s thesis and retype as theirs. Some of them want to work but don’t know how to go about it; thanks to myriad half baked ‘lecturers’ patrolling our institutions of learning. Nairalanders, let’s help restore the dignity of the Nigerian educational system.

Igbos have proved time and time again that they don't depend on politics for livelihood.

Let the North continue to sacrifice demselves for President position in a multi-ethnic country.
u have spoken well but, the igbos shouldn't just fold their hands and watch the north keep cornering our collective wealth

ypzilanti:

Do not mind Onyema Ugochukwu. Instead of standing firm and fighting in the courts for his mandate, he chickened out and reconciled with the eternal promiser, TA Orji. Abia elders chided him just before the last elections, and as usual he promised them heaven on earth and said he has now left his evil godfather, Orji Kalu. As old as they are, the Elders bought that story...old men who years of wisdom should have taught better.
fight for what mandate? Dude lost d election wella. . .he was getting high while PPA were busy strategizing. I think he would have been worse than T.A. Some of us voted for him not because of his track records, but because we were just looking for 'any way' out of the orji cage. Onyema headed NDDC for a couple of years. What did he achieve aside self enrichment? My broda, mek we leave matter 4 mathias jare

Orji kalu is the worst thing but T.A orji is like satan, no worst thing can be compared to him .Is abia state cursed? What is GEJ doing to help liberate that state from the devil. Abia needs help!!
did u just say Gej Should liberate abia? Are u just coming? Obasanjo tried and failed woefuly in 2007. D only thing dat can liberate abia state is the collective resolve of abians. If we can replicate what happened in imo. . .if we can just vote and protect our votes, who kwanu be t.a orji! On a second thought tho', i just pitty abians. No credible opposition candidate every election year. D last time, it was onyema ugochukwu. While we were in d field, spending our hard earned money canvassing for votes for him, dude was smoking indian hemp salad in his house expecting obasanjo to come from aso rock and declare him winner. I pray some credible person shows up in 2015. . .someone we can stick out our necks for. Untill then. . .*runs back to brunch.choi! Ds fish sweet no be smol*

Banku&Tilapia:

Listen u better shut da phuck up der, der r 3 sides to a story. Her side, his side and da truth and even though i don't condone violence against women we all know how most African women can be phucking loud and insulting. If u don't hv any evidence dat ur husband was sleeping wit prostitutes and u asked him and denied it, why try asking him again and again and again. John Pantsil is a gud person so before u take him to the cleaners listen to his side of da story U EEEEDIOT.
bros, what's with the hyperventilation? Wasnt even talking to you. I was only reasoning with some other dude who, imo, was showing unhealthy bias against women. Anyway, i should school u a lil: all women are 'nags' so, d earlier u get prepared to handle that aspect of ur woman, d better 4 ur rlationship. Infact, if ur wife hears over d radio that u'v become a love-vendor and she doesnt ask u about it repeatedly, bros run. . .she's evil, ur next meal might just have some rat poison seasoning. And learn to stop calling people 'eeediots' . . .makes u sound like my 13yr old nephew

Michky: Foo! Its no longer news that men fight using bottles, knifes etc. Whether you're fighting a man or woman, as long as you fight back or simply challenge the other, you're definately asking for trouble. If the lady didnt challenge him in any way and just stayed away, it wont have gone this far.
u r unbelievably! No offense bro but, u sound like a pathetic misogynist. IMO, aggressive chauvinism is not a prerequisite for being a 'real man'

Lets see their candidates first. I don't give a rat's ass what name the party goes by, neither do i care whether or not they are the opposition, if they throw up people like buhari or any of his vindictive 'mallamic' friends, i'l gladly giv gef my vote again. If they want to succeed, let them present marketable candidates (which i'm pretty sure tinubu wouldnt allow bcause of hs penchant 4 thievery and control). My people, sad to say but it's business as usual

I think u r confused because u haven't really heard from God. I think u should pray again...take ur time and don't let ur parents and their pastor mess with ur relationship. If u'v never heard from God before, here's a prayer point. 'Father, if this relationship is not your will, dissolve it and lead me to the right one' and u'l be amazed how things will align in due time. however, If u are not sure of ur stand with God sweetheart, follow ur heart o! grin
