Politics / Osun: PDP Bursts APC Rigging Plots, Scheme To Bribe INEC, Police by bigboluet(m): 8:04pm On Jul 15, 2022 |
July 15, 2022 Press Statement Osun: PDP Bursts APC Rigging Plots, Scheme to Bribe INEC, Police…Urges INEC, Police to Rejig Formation in Osun State to Avert Crisis The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alerts of an orchestrated plot by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to derail our democracy by compromising the integrity and sabotaging the Will and desire of the people for a free, fair, transparent and credible electoral process in the Saturday July 16, 2022 governorship election in Osun State. Specifically, the APC has accentuated its rigging programme by deploying billions of naira to compromise some security and electoral officers to intimidate voters, manipulate electoral process and inordinately favour the sinking APC Candidate, Governor Gboyega Oyetola, against the Will of the people. The PDP has been made aware of how huge sums of money have been funneled to certain compromised security and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials to execute this ignoble scheme. The said INEC and security officials are reported to have been bought over to among other things, criminally assist and provide cover for APC agents to prosecute a well-oiled vote buying and violence-triggering scheme. Our Party has information on how two prominent APC Governors from the South West, a former APC National Chairman from the South South, certain federal Minister and a particular member of the House of Assembly from Lagos State are coordinating the release of billions of naira to bribe electoral and security officials as well as fund heavily armed thugs imported from Lagos, Ondo, Ogun and other South West States to unleash violence and help the APC to rig the election. The PDP alerts of a leaked report of how the APC released N20 million and N15 million respectively to two top police officers; N10 million to four Assistant Inspector General of Police, N5 million each to four Commissioners of Police, N3 million each to 15 Deputy Commissioners of Police, N2million each to 30 Assistant Commissioners of Police to compromise the electoral process. Our Party also has further reports of how the APC released the sum of N10 million per Local Government Area for INEC officials in all the 30 Local Government Areas in Osun Steta, N7million to thugs masquerading as Amotekun officials and a huge sum of money for propaganda to a certain compromised media outfit. The PDP has however been made aware that some patriotic INEC and Police officials vehemently rejected the poisonous offer by the APC. Our Party salutes the courage and patriotism of such officers who resisted the APC for the love of our country. The PDP calls on the Inspector General of Police and the Chairman of INEC, Prof Mahmood Yakubu to take immediate decisive steps to check the activities of police and INEC officials deployed to Osun State so as to avert a breakdown of Law and Order, especially given the manifest determination of the people of Osun State to resist the APC on its evil scheme. The PDP demands that the Police and INEC immediately rejig their formations in Osun State as a step to assuage, reassure the electorate and prevent an impending crisis in the State. The PDP urges the people of Osun State to remain undeterred and focused in their determination to free their State from the misrule of the APC. Signed: Hon. Politics / 2023: Ondo APC Senatorial Aspirant, Awosika, Joins PDP by bigboluet(m): 6:51pm On Jul 07, 2022 |
2023: Ondo APC senatorial aspirant, Awosika, joins PDP, decries level of insecurity An aspirant of the ruling All Progressive Congress, in the last senatorial primary elections in Ondo State, Dr Tola Awosika, has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Recall that Awosika resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress APC last week. Awosika’s spokesperson, Prince Segun Adesemoye, told newsmen in Akure, that Awosikas interest in politics is to support the unity and progress of the country, promote good governance and democracy and work for improved welfare of the people and sustainable development of their communities. “Awosika decried the level of insecurity in this country, describing the attendant loss of lives as grossly unacceptable. He therefore called for urgent proactive measures to stem the tide. The Senatorial aspirant has therefore directed all his “loyalists and supporters and all members of the TEA Movement to join the PDP in their various wards and local Governments across the state while arrangements to register him at his ward has commenced. Adesemoye said that the date for official declaration of Awosika will be announced shortly. Recall that Awosika in his resignation letter had described the APC as haven of of vendetta and injustice He lamented that ” it has become impossible for young vibrant people who are passionate about service and ready to give back to the people to achieve their desires in APC. “It is my fervent belief that politics is about fulfilling the aspiration of the people and ensuring sustainable development of communities. ” I envisioned a political party where the youths are not just given access, but one in which all are treated equally and on merit. “I joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State not because I was desperate to contest or attain position but for my passion to see a better society where both young and old are living peacefully with unfettered access to basic necessities they need to live meaningful, productive lives. “I joined the senatorial race with the hope of giving the good people of Ondo Central Senatorial District an unusually responsible, accountable and purposeful representation; my team and I worked very hard and toured the six local Governments of the district. “The acceptability and support we enjoyed was unbelievably overwhelming, the people heaved a sigh of relief and their hope was rekindled, they joined the train and were hoping for the breath of fresh air that we represent. The rest is history. “After the primary elections, I got calls from my supporters across the country seeking to know our next move as the APC has become a haven of vendetta and injustice. “We are left with no choice than to keep searching for better days and working hard to secure the future of the good people of Ondo State. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/07/2023-ondo-apc-senatorial-aspirant-awosika-joins-pdp-decries-level-of-insecurity/

Politics / Terrorism: APC Complicit In Kuje Prison Attack - PDP Asserts by bigboluet(m): 6:59pm On Jul 06, 2022 |
July 6, 2022 Press Statement Terrorism: APC Complicit in Kuje Prison Attack - PDP Asserts…Queries Redeployment of Soldiers 24hrs Before Incidence The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) condemns in the strongest possible term, the spate of insecurity and the audacity with which terrorists ravage our country unchallenged under the rudderless All Progressives Congress (APC) administration. The simultaneous terrorist attacks on the advance convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina State as well as the Correctional Facility in Abuja, the nation’s capital, underscore the collapse of our security command and control structure under the failed, ineffective and uncoordinated Buhari-led APC administration. The terrorist attack on President Buhari’s convoy in his home State of Katsina as well as the ferocious invasion and the freeing of hundreds of terrorists and criminals from the Kuje Correctional Facility further confirm that Mr. President has lost control of the security of the nation and that Nigerians are no longer safe under the APC. The escalated spate of terrorism across the country has heightened apprehensions of complicity by the APC to open up our nation to more terrorist attacks with the view to stall the 2023 general elections. The failure of the APC administration to act on the intelligence provided by the Directorate of State Services (DSS) which on Tuesday July 5, 2022 reportedly warned of an impending attack on the Kuje Correctional Facility gives credence to fears by Nigerians of complicity at very high level of the APC administration. This is in addition to further reports that soldiers deployed to the precinct of the Kuje Correctional Facility and who had become familiar with the terrain were redeployed 24 hours before the terrorists attacked. The PDP demands that the APC government should come clean on who ordered the reported redeployment of soldiers and who failed to act on the intelligence provided by the DSS. Nigerians can recall the public confession by the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai at the wake of the bloody Abuja-Kaduna terrorist attack that the APC-led administration knows the whereabouts and the plans of the terrorists ravaging our nation but deliberately refused to act. Nigerians will also recall how APC leaders publicly romanced and paid money to terrorists. It is rather distressing that President Buhari appears helpless without any decisive and concrete steps taken to stem the tide of terrorist attacks in our country. Even more curious is that President Buhari continues to retain Mr. Isa Pantami as Minister of Communication and Digital Economy to head and coordinate this very critical sector in the fight against terrorism in our country in spite of Isa Pantami’s confession of affiliation to terrorists. With the sequence of events in the last 48 hours, it is clear to Nigerians that the APC government headed by President Buhari has failed in the basic purpose of government which is to secure life and properties of the citizens. Given the urgency of the security situation in the country, it has become imperative that President Buhari convenes an emergency Council of State meeting for a review of the prevailing dangerous security atmosphere in our country. The PDP also calls on the National Assembly to pass a vote of no confidence in Isa Patimi and insist on his immediate removal as a minister. The National Assembly should also immediately summon the Security Chiefs for a thorough investigation on the circumstances resulting in the failure of our security system. The PDP urges Nigerians to remain at alert and keep hope alive as the nightmare of the APC administration will be over by May 2023. Signed: Hon. Politics / Atiku As VP In 1999 Was A Blessing To Nigeria – ASO Replies Obasanjo by bigboluet(m): 3:47pm On Jun 26, 2022 |
Press statement The choice of Atiku Abubakar as Vice President in 1999 was a blessing to Nigeria – Atiku Support Organisation replies Chief Obasanjo We watched with dismay a video purportedly showing the former president of Nigeria, His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo stating that one of his mistakes in life was his choice of number two man during the 1999 presidential elections. We wish to state without mincing words that former president Olusegun Obasanjo was the best president we’ve ever had as a nation since 1999. Similarly and without equivocation, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, the Waziri Adamawa was, without a modicum of doubt, the best vice president Nigeria has ever had since 1960 independence. His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo may recall that Nigeria under Atiku Abubakar as the head of the economic council experienced its best economic growth in history. As of 1998, Nigeria’s economy was in the red zone growing at -2.5%. With His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar on the economic council's driving seat, the economy experienced successive growth for 8 years in a row and peaked at 15.33% growth in 2002. The best in Nigeria since 1969. GDP per capita annual growth rose from $498 to an impressive peak level of $1,883 in 2007. Inflation was reduced from 10.0% in 1998 to 5.39% in 2007. Nigeria’s trade balance significantly increased from negative $-1.63bn to an impressive $38.88bn in 2006. Foreign direct investment increased from $0.30bn in 1998 to an impressive $6.04bn in 2007. In 1998, the unemployment rate stood at 3.83%. By 2007, the rate fell to 3.62%. The banking industry was almost a near-dead industry with many banks dying in freestyle mode trapping the life savings of many Nigerians. But His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, GCON with the support of his team members ensured a great banking reform leading to bank capitalization. Today, most banks are stable and the industry is worth over ₦102.6 trillion Naira as of 2020 as against ₦757 billion in 1998. Nigeria’s neck-breaking external debt as of 1998 stood at over $30bn. As the head of the economic team, Atiku Abubakar contributed immensely to ensuring debt forgiveness for Nigeria and the repayment of the balance. He contributed in no small measure to assembling the best economic management team ever assembled in the history of Nigeria. The privatization exercise that saw to the incredible revolution in the telecommunication sector was astonishing. Today, the telecom sector has created millions of direct and indirect jobs for Nigerians and it's adding over ₦11 trillion to the economy every year. Generally, the Nigerian economy grew by 192% between 1999 to 2020. Under the economic council team headed by His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, the economy grew by 81% as against 25.9% under late president Umar Musa Yar’adua, 26.4% under ex-president Goodluck Jonathan and 1.4% under president Muhammadu Buhari. Therefore, we ask. How could someone with such an intimidating pedigree and best profile in economic management and development of a nation be a mistaken choice of a vice president? Nigerians are quite aware of a failed 3rd term bid of His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, which created ripples that refused to heal almost 24 years after, but His Excellency Atiku Abubakar’s decision to stand against the 3rd term bid of Chief Obasanjo was not personal but to protect our young democracy. We called on His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to see his decision to work with Atiku Abubakar as his number two man as the best decision ever made in the overall interest of Nigeria and NOT a mistake. His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar is vindicated because archival facts and figures are out there to prove that he was indeed the best vice president we have ever had since independence in 1960. Signed: Dr. El Mo Victor Moses National Publicity Secretary Atiku Support Organisation. 26th June 2022 https://www.facebook.com/100054455862110/posts/pfbid02AJuMuTyDwhDK5zchxyWJDAutNQeZoULFpAVoSoNm72HRev1Jvakhd1ZYrq3A7Ffcl/
