Politics / Call Adamu To Order, Osun Pdp Tasks Buhari by bigboluet(m): 8:25pm On Jun 24, 2022
PRESS STATEMENT

CALL ADAMU TO ORDER, OSUN PDP TASKS BUHARI

It has come to the notice of the Osun state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of an open call by the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, for the July 16 governorship election to be rigged in favour of his party. We call on Predident Muhammadu Buhari to call the APC Chairman to order before he sets Osun ablaze.

Before now, our party has expressed fears on the desperation of the APC to scuttle the holding of a free and fair election in Osun state. Yesterday, Adamu, proved our fears right. In the video that is now viral, Adamu could be heard given a matching order to members of his campaign council to win Osun state by whatever means necessary.

It is a public knowledge that APC abhors a free and fair election, but we never contemplate a time that the party will be so bold to issue a rigging directive openly. We must also note that Adamu comment of "not spearing him for any reason whatsoever" is a direct threat on the life of our candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and we will hold the APC chairman responsible for any bodily arm that come to our party's flagbearer.

We wish to warn Adamu and his crew of election riggers to stay clear of Osun or have themselves to blame in the end. Our people are ready more than ever to exercise their franchise and make sure it prevails.

The APC chairman and those hiding in the shadow should perish the thought of rigging this election. This is not 2018 and we hope they will take to this cautionary note. Our party demand is simple- let Osun people decide their Governor.

Nothing, not even the inducement of money as was done in Ekiti through the art of "Dibo kosebe" will change this resolve. Let Adamu and his gang of anti-democratic forces know that Osun election is not the APC, where imposition is the most acceptable route to leadership. Our people will vote and it will count.

We hereby appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari to reign on Adamu and anyone who seek to prevent Osun people from choosing their Governor. We recognizes President Buhari's efforts to leave a legacy of credible election and impress on him not to watch Adamu and some members of the APC to frustrate it.

As a party, we are committed to a free and fair election, and as expected in a democracy, prepared to subscribe to the will of electorate. This is why we would not accept any attempt to rig the forthcoming governorship election, no matter who is involved. We will defend the will of electorate by all lawful means.

Signed
Dr. Akindele Adekunle,
Chairman CTC,
Peoples Democratic Party,
Osun State Chapter.

Shame on NANS National President Asefon.

We know his role as regards ASUU strike are mere Acting to a Script.

We know he doesn't have the students interest at heart and just playing the card as directed by APC.

ASUU strike will last longer than I thought, I can see the traces.

Democracy Day: Don’t Despair, APC Will Soon Be History, PDP Urges Nigerians
…Tasks Buhari to Stop Playing Lip Services to Democracy

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) urges Nigerians to use the occasion of the June 12 Democracy Day to reaffirm their determination to vote out the anti-democratic, inhumane, lawless and rudderless All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general elections.

The Party also calls on President Muhammadu Buhari to go beyond his usual rhetoric and take practical steps to guarantee the conduct of free, fair and transparent elections in 2023.

The PDP reminds President Buhari that Nigerians are now, more than ever before, determined to fully entrench the democratic demands of credible elections, which is at the core of the Democracy Day celebration.

June 12 embodies the struggle by Nigerians against corrupt, suppressive and dictatorial forces; against lawless, insensitive, anti-people and terrorism-promoting regime, against injustice, high-handedness, recklessness and incurable impunity, all which the APC has come to represent.

It is unpardonable that the APC administration has arrogantly continued to violate and trample on the substance, value and quintessence of June 12 Democracy Day; the democratic principles of Constitutional Order, freedom, justice, fairness and equity as well as the much-desired national cohesion and tolerance which Chief MKO Abiola personified and died for.

Our Party cautions the APC to stop testing the Will of Nigerians with its continued abuse of process, violation of human rights, nepotism, electoral manipulations, stifling of freedom of speech, promotion of violence; the very pattern of the dark era of military dictatorship in our country, which Chief MKO Abiola fought against.

The PDP demands that President Buhari should take steps to check the use of security agencies and thugs to suppress voters in addition to guaranteeing that only votes cast at the polling units are transmitted and declared.

President Buhari by now should know that Nigerians have rejected his party, the APC and that the outcome of the 2023 general elections must not speak otherwise.

Our Party urges all leaders across the country to reflect on the essence of June 12 in all their activities so as to build a nation guided by the democratic principles of the Rule of Law, mutual respect and unity of purpose.

The PDP prays for the nation and wishes Nigerians a successful Democracy Day Celebration.

Lagos PVC Clash: Tinubu is Afraid of Election - PDP
…Says Nigerians Cannot be Deterred

Nigerians are disturbed by the dastardly action instigated by leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) to prevent citizens, particularly people of the South East region resident in Lagos State from collecting their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) to enable them vote in the 2023 general elections.

That action by the APC in Lagos is part of its desperate design to use violence to sabotage free, fair and credible elections in 2023 having realized that Nigerians have rejected its Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the polls.

Asiwaju Tinubu has been in morbid fear of the soaring popularity of the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, hence the attempt by the APC to stop Nigerians from obtaining their PVCs to vote in the elections; an action that portend serious threat and danger to our democratic process.

Is it not an irony that the party of the government of the day that pretends to have the support of the people and professes continuity is busy chasing away prospective voters?

The APC is already suffering from Pre-Election Fever Syndrome in trepidation that it cannot win in a free, fair, credible and transparent process where Nigerians are allowed to freely express their Will.

It is particularly disturbing that this pattern is a resurgence of previous attempt in 2019 where APC leaders harassed Nigerians, especially the people of the South East and threatened to throw them into the Lagoon should they vote for any other party other than the APC.

It will also be recalled that similar act of violence was unleased on Nigerians in the Isolo axis of Lagos in the 2019 general elections, where the APC, upon discovering that it has been rejected at the polls, openly sponsored and unleashed terror on innocent citizens and destroyed all votes cast.

The APC has again become chaotic and desperate because Nigerians have recognized it as what it is; a Special Purpose Vehicle which was hurriedly put together to defraud the nation.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC must know that they cannot surmount the determination of Nigerians who are now rallying on the platform of the PDP to use this 2023 general elections to take back their country from the stranglehold and misrule of the corrupt, incompetent, inhumane and rudderless APC.

Our Party cautions Asiwaju and the APC to thread carefully and rein in their thugs, hoodlums and terrorists as they will be firmly resisted by Nigerians.

Politics / Tinubu Is Desperate For Keys To The Nation’s Treasury - PDP by bigboluet(m): 7:47pm On Jun 08, 2022
June 8, 2022

Press Statement

2023: You are No Match for Atiku-PDP Mocks Tinubu
…Says Tinubu is Desperate for Keys to the Nation’s Treasury

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) mocks Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for clinching at very great price, the Presidential ticket of the moribund, decrepit and crippled All Progressives Congress (APC), which has since served out its purpose as a fraudulent contraption that brought in the failed, corrupt and rudderless administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Our Party also sympathizes with Asiwaju for embarking on a journey to nowhere as he is no match for PDP’s more popular, more competent and more prepared Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar the unifier and the people’s choice, who defeated President Buhari fair and square in the 2019 Presidential election.

Asiwaju will soon realize that Nigeria is not one of his acquired estates or fiefdoms and that the Nigerian people are not his political string-puppets and retinue of lackies, from whom he bought the APC Presidential ticket.

Asiwaju will also soon realize that Nigerians hold him responsible for his self-confessed role in installing the failed Buhari-led administration that subjugated the people, brought excruciating economic hardship, acute poverty, bloodletting, terrorism, mass killings, promoted disunity, tribalism and nepotism, lawlessness, massive treasury looting and unpardonable life-discounting experiences to our country.

It is indeed reprehensible that Asiwaju, after being handed an APC flag that refused to unfold in recognition of the gloomy times of the APC, did not demonstrate any form of remorse for the injuries he engineered and caused our nation in the last seven years.

His failure to express empathy for the victims of violence, kidnapping, mass killings and acts of terrorism, especially the recent gruesome attack in a sacred place of worship, St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo in Ondo State serves as a foretaste of the big cover up and harrowing experience that Nigerians will face, God forbid, should Asiwaju emerge as President in 2023.

His acceptance speech further exposed his manifest lack of capacity, presence of mind, resourcefulness and selflessness to manage the affairs of a nation as complex as Nigeria.

From Asiwaju’s egotistic outbursts before and after the APC manipulative National Convention, it is crystal clear that his life-long dream of clinching the APC Presidential ticket is not for the wellbeing of Nigerians but out of desperation to lay hands on the keys to the nation’s treasury.

Asiwaju has insulted the sensibilities of Nigerians enough and this APC National Convention will be his final political outing. This is because Nigerians have had enough and are now, more than ever before, ready and out on the platform of the PDP to defend our nation and reject Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu in the 2023 Presidential election.

The Nigerian politics is far more complex and beyond the Lagos politics where Asiwaju operates with brawl and deployment of violence rather than brain.

What Nigerians needs now is a unifier in the face of the pain and discomfort inflicted on them by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his live band of APC looters and mean human beings. He needs to know that Nigeria is not Lagos!

The PDP therefore charges Nigerians to continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with our Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, their choice President in this mission to Rescue, Redirect and Rebuild our nation from the misrule of Asiwaju and his APC.

Politics / Re: FLASHBACK: ‘where Are The Cows? Is Evans A Herdsman?’ — Tinubu by bigboluet(m): 10:37am On Jun 06, 2022
This is not the first time we are being attacked!

It is only getting worse because when leaders should act fast they were playing loyal politics.

Fayose acted well in Ekiti and Akeredolu always speaks when matters. History will never forget them as regard Insecurities in South West.

I won't say more than that. . .
Politics / FLASHBACK: ‘where Are The Cows? Is Evans A Herdsman?’ — Tinubu by bigboluet(m): 10:35am On Jun 06, 2022
Tinubu, who is currently being attacked by Nigerians for keeping quiet over the deadly activities of Fulani herdsmen across the country, on July 14, 2019, said kidnapping is not peculiar to any ethnic group or a particular set of people.

Tinubu, who is currently being attacked by Nigerians for keeping quiet over the deadly activities of Fulani herdsmen across the country, on July 14, 2019, said kidnapping is not peculiar to any ethnic group or a particular set of people.

The former Lagos State Governor disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists after paying a condolence visit to Afenifere leader, Reuben Fasoranti, whose daughter, Funke Olakunri, was killed by gunmen along Kajola – Ore Road.

Though Afenifere said the attackers were herdsmen, Tinubu denied the claim, saying those blaming them for the death did not have evidence.

He said, “I am extremely concerned about security but I don’t want stigma. I can go through history of kidnapping and we know how it started, where it all started, there are lot of copycats, how many years ago have we faced insecurity in this country and cases of kidnapping? Is Evans a herdsman?

“I don’t want to be political, but I will ask, where are the cows?”

Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, suspected kidnapper better known as Evans, was arrested by the police in 2017 and is still in their custody.

Evans' arrest was described by the police as a major achievement as he had been wanted for some time.

Indeed to show how big the arrest was, the Police Service Commission (PSC) in April 2018 said 45 officers who participated in the successful arrest of Evans had been granted special promotions.

The APC stalwart further said Olakunri’s death was painful, but added that she was destined to die that way.

“It has been destined that that is the way she would go. You can't change what is ordained by God. One way or the other, it could be death by road accident, or any other way,” he said.

However, in April 2019, the police arrested some suspects said to be responsible for Olakunri's death. They were identified as Lawal Mazaje, 40, from the Felele area of Kogi State; Adamu Adamu, 50, from Jada, Adamawa State; Mohammed Usman, 26, from Illela, Sokoto State; and Auwal Abubakar, 25, an indigene of Shinkafi, Zamfara State.
The suspects are currently being tried and some reports have identified them as Fulani.

Rotimi Akeredolu, Governor of Ondo state had last week ordered herders to vacate the forest reserves within seven days over the rising insecurity situation in the state

He had said “bad elements” have turned the forest reserves into hideouts for keeping victims of kidnapping, negotiating ransom and carrying out other criminal activities.

Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho, also asked herdsmen in Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State to leave within seven days following reports of the killing of some residents.

Akeredolu and Igboho’s directives had sparked different reactions, with Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, saying the governor could not unilaterally oust thousands of herders “who have lived all their lives in the state”.

But Afenifere, Yoruba sociopolitical group, said Shehu’s response showed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s government prioritise Fulani interests above those of other ethnic groups.

Cholera, dysentery, diarrhea and other diseases in their class may be warming up to visit residents in Ondo state as a result of the growing number of street refuses of varying sizes in the state.

Many indigenes, residents and concerned citizens have taken to different social media platforms to call attention to this development.

Some major stakeholders who spoke to Nigeriancablenewsonline.com on the condition of anonymity lamented that the refuses are gradually blocking the major streets and roads.

According to them, of major concerns are the Heaps of refuse now littering major streets of Akure, the Ondo state capital in the new year.

Medical experts have expressed worry over the danger it posses to the health of citizens of the city which used to pride itself as one the cleanest in Nigeria.

It won’t be an understatement to rate Akure as one of the dirtiest states in the Federation in 2021.

When our correspondent moved round the city, heaps of refuse dotted areas like Oba Adesida, Arakale, NEPA, Oyemekun, Democracy Park among others.

This development has continued to give many residents sleepless nights as they urged the state government to engage more companies in clearing of refuse in the state.

When Nigerian cable news online contacted the state Commissioner for information, Mr. Donald Ojogo for a
for government’s reaction on the development. he simply said: “I’m at a function” and later sent a phone number.

Politics / Ondo 2020: 11 Parties Collapse Structure For Jegede by bigboluet(m): 2:24pm On Oct 05, 2020
Eleven out of the 17 political parties participating in Ondo 2020 governorship election have resolved to support the candidate of People’s Democratic Party, Eyitayo Jegede in Saturday’s polls.

While addressing newsmen at the PDP secretariat in Akure, the Chairman of Social Democratic Party, Prince Oladele Ogunbameru said the decision was made at a meeting held on Sunday, 4th October, 2020 with the party leaders and top echelon of the PDP.

He said the decision to to support PDP was Bourne out of their commitment to good governance in Ondo State, which they believe can only be offered by the PDP.

He added further that the collaboration is an organized effort to save Ondo State from the political quagmire and undesirable socioeconomic predicament of the good people of the State.

While reacting to this, the State chairman of the PDP, Hon.Fatai Adams said the support from the 11 political parties indicated acceptability of Eyitayo Jegede which shows that the party is winning the election.

The 11 Political parties include: Accord, AA, ADP, AAC, APGA, APM, APP, NNPP, NRM, SDP and the YPP.
