A couple months back, a maid was forcibly thrown from the 7th floor in a high-rise apartment in Kuwait. The incident occurred at Sabah el-Salem where the maid said that she was escaping from her boss who was trying to kill her. The incident caused an outrage and the cruel boss was eventually arrested. The maid Adesech Sadik, an Ethiopian, survived the fall but with broken bones and bleeding ears and nose. On the contrary, her former employer tried defending herself against the condemnations by the public arguing that Sadik was actually attempting suicide. The argument she fronted was not convincing as a video footage of her watching the maid fall without attempting to help went viral. She has finally made it back home in Ethiopia and she was received by her family. A number of the rich Arabian Middle East countries are hiring thousands of domestic workers from countries in Africa and poorer regions of Asia. A majority of these women hired as house helps always complain of being abused by their employers. Recently, Saudi Arabia gave an order that all unregistered migrants to return to their homes voluntarily or they be arrested and forcefully be thrown out of the country.

Wife of the General Overseer of the church and Mother-in-Isreal, Pastor Folu Adeboye made these known on Saturday at the women’s meeting, which was a part of the activities of
the 65th annual convention of the church themed “Halleluyah”.
She stated at the meeting that compelling members of the church to participate in Aso ebi during special programmes in local assemblies was ungodly.The news that some members of the church without financial power to buy such uniforms, were excluded from the programmes for which the uniforms were sown, was seriously repudiated by the church leadership.
She noted that Aso ebi which should ordinarily be for the family, must not be elevated to the point of making it to overshadow the spiritual life of the congregants.She warned that such un-Christianly act of keeping church members out of programmes because of Aso ebi, must never be heard again among the women in the church, adding that those caught would be severely sanctioned.He stated that the concept of appearing in compulsory uniformed attire for an occasion started with the world and should not be allowed to take a firm space in the church.
She also frowned on the idea of what is seen as petty lies during Christian wedding engagement, where those conducting such events would have to engage in lies to make money from the..

RCCG Convention:Pastors-in-charge of regions to have assistants.New position equivalent to that of regional pastors.RCCG appoints two special assistants for the wife of the General Overseer, Pastor (Mrs.) Foluke Adeboye.
*Pastor (Mrs.) Shola Balogun until recently the Pastor-in-Charge of Province 34. Pastor Deola Mensa until recently Pastor-in-Charge of Province 15. The RCCG Governing Council, the highest organ of the church is made up of 18 members, with Pastor Adeboye as chairman. Other members include Pastors David G. Kuo, Ezekiel Odeyemi, Elijah Daramola, Gbadebo Lawal, Joseph Obayemi, Johnson Odesola and Remi Obayemi. Adeboye announced the promotion of the National Youth Pastor, Pastor Belemina Obunge to the rank of an Assistant General Overseer. There will be more promotions in the church hierarchy this new year. The Council approved the creation of more provinces in the country which gives room for more Pastors-in-charge of such new provinces. Pastor Johnson Odesola, Assistant General Overseer to General Overseer on Admin and Personnel, Redeemed Christian Church of God anointed some of the newly ordained Assistant Pastors.The mission’s School of Discipleship should be taken much more seriously. There would be nothing like accelerated School of Disciples (SOD) again. There is the need for every member of RCCG to take the annual evangelical Programme tagged Lets Go A-fishing seriously. Let’s Go A-fishing is a programme God gave to reach to people who are relaxing during festive seasons and win them to Christ.

Pastor Edir Macedo holds the number one spot on the world’s top 20 richest Men of God list. Forbes recently released a list of world’s top 20 richest Men of God. It featured seven Nigerians and a couple of well known foreign pastors like Benny Hinn, Rick Warren and Joel Osteen. The number one spot was held by Edir Macedo, the Brazilian pastor is founder of Grupo Record and Record News. He was born on February 18, 1945, in the small town of Rio das Flores - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was the fourth child of seven children. He was raised in a Catholic home with a strict father and a protective mother.
On his church’s blog, he wrote, “All of us were raised strictly, under the harsh rule of our father. Discipline was a sacred rule at home. My mother was the protector of the home, the woman who raised us with love and such great zeal, that even as teenagers, we wouldn’t rebel.” Eventually, he converted to evangelical Christianity in the early 1970s. Years later, the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God was born after a traumatic experience with his second daughter, Viviane. She was born as a frail baby with a tiny frame, this tragedy sparked his faith in God.
Here is an excerpt from his story: “Esther was attempting to wipe away her tears, but her face was soaked. I also cried. Then something exploded inside of me that lifted my mind up to God. My body was possessed with an unfathomable strength. My pain transported me directly to the throne of God. I decided to pray. "But it was not a normal prayer. I clenched my fists in anger and threw punches at the bed countless times. God, no one is going to stop me now. Not my family, not my wife, not the future, not my feelings, nothing! No one can stop me now! No one! No one! I’ve had enough! That was the birth of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God.”
The church started in a “filthy, foul-smelling pavilion” in a suburb of Rio de Janeiro in 1977. The first service was held on July 9, 1977.
