The Board of Regents, Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, has appointed Dr. Azubuike Ezenwoke as the new Registrar of the University.
Dr. Ezenwoke who recently bagged his doctoral degree at
Covenant University was until his appointment, the Dean of Students, Covenant University, Ota; Landmark’s sister university also owned by the same proprietor, the Living Faith Church Worldwide (aka Winners’ Chapel).
At 32, Dr. Ezenwoke arguably is the youngest university Registrar in Africa.
A 2007 First-Class graduate of Computer Science at Covenant University, Dr. Ezenwoke was the first graduate of Covenant University to be appointed the Dean of Students two times in the same university, 2011 and 2016.
In his undergraduate days, he was the Chairman, Students Council, what is referred to as Student Union Government in other universities.
He teaches undergraduate classes Computer Programming I (C Language), Computer Programming II (C++ Language), Internet Programming, Introduction to Problem Solving, Structured and Sequential Programming (Python) among others.

The Eastern Regional Police Command has impounded 33 fertilizer sacks containing 2,228 slabs of compressed substance suspected to be Indian hemp at Kpong ready to be transported to the Tema port.

Police describe the narcotics as the biggest arrest in the region in the year.

According to Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, a suspect, Joseph Sarpong 34 years, who was arrested at the scene located within the proposed site for the University of Ghana Soil and Irrigation Resource Center at Kpong, where
the weed was cultivated in large quantity.

Two other accomplices managed to escape and abandoned a Kia Rhino truck with registration number GN 4587-15 meant for loading the Indian hemp to be transported to Tema.
A thorough search of the vehicle uncovered eight white fertilizer sacks with each sack containing 80 compressed slabs, 21 large sack concealed in big black polythene bags which also contained 68 slabs each and four mini fertilizer sacks containing 40 slabs each of compressed dried leaves all suspected to be Indian hemp.
According to the police, 1,428 of the slabs have been marked ‘USA’ with a red marker, giving the suspicion that, that component was meant to be exported to the United State of America.
The vehicle together with the impounded substance is in police custody while investigations continue.

There are fears of a possible outbreak of diseases in parts of the Tamale metropolis as some residents resort to open defecation following recent floods there.
Within the last five days, residents in six districts in the Northern Region including Sanerigu, Gushegu, Sabooba North, Nanumba, Kariga and Cherponi have been counting their loss flowing a torrential rainfall.
In some areas the residents have resorted to open defecation as their only place of convenience has been destroyed.



A resident said many of their water sources have been polluted. According to him, the dam which they draw water from has also been polluted opening them up to all sorts of diseases.
According to reports, more than 3000 people have been rendered homeless with four people losing their lives.
Several bridges, roads, and farmlands have been badly affected.
The District Chief Executive of the Nanumba North, Abdulai Yacob told the source they could not have access to Yendi, Salaga and adjoining Nanumba South due to the floods.
“We are completely cut off from the national grid and it has made life difficult for the people,” he said.
The victims have blamed the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for neglecting them.
“As you can see, so many houses have been destroyed and we don’t know where to lay our heads. Some of us are sharing a room with over 20 others which is not healthy in any way.
"Some people have been forced to travel out to get a place to sleep,” one victim said.

1. General liability insurance

An Ospina representative confirmed the end of the marriage on Friday with a social media post, writing: “Daniela Ospina and James Rodriguez, parents to Salome Rodriguez Ospina, are making official their separation after six and half years of marriage.“It is done in the best possible terms and it is a mutual decision. They’ll maintain a relationship of love and of respect, always with Salome’s well being at heart.”
The Colombian couple got married very young, when Rodriguez was 19 and Ospina just 18. They have a daughter Salome. Rodriguez this summer joined Bayern on a two-year loan from Real Madrid in search of regular football.

1. Christian Oyakhilome was born on December 7, 1961 to the family of Elder T.E Oyakhilome who was one of the pioneers of the Assemblies of God Church (AG) in Benin City and major parts of the old Mid-Western Region of Nigeria. He is an Esan from Edo State.

2. Chris Oyakhilome conducted his first crusade at the age of 9.

3. On completion of his secondary education at the Edo College, Benin City, he spent his vacation as a bookstore attendant, selling books at the reknowned Faith Miracle Centre opposite Benin Airport pastored by Rev Benson Idahosa of the Church of God Missions Int’l Incorporated (CGMI).

4. He got admitted into the old Bendel State University established by late Governor Ambrose Alli (now Ambrose Alli University) when it was established in 1981 and studied Architecture.

5. As an undergraduate, he established a fellowship known as Youths For Christ (YFC), notable among the leaders was another student, Tom Amenkhienan who was the leader of the choir. Anita Ebodaghe and her friend, Joy were members of the choir who soon married both Chris and Tom. YFC soon became one of the largest fellowships on Campus in Ekpoma.

6. By 1989, Chris Oyakhilome established the ministry known as Believers Loveworld inc (BLW) and named her church arm Christ Embassy with headquarters in Lagos. He got married to Anita on February 2nd 1991.

7. Six months before he passed on, Benson Idahosa told Chris Oyakhilome to invite him to a program in BLW before March 14th. Benson Idahosa died unexpectedly on March 12.

8. By 2002, BLW had become the most prominent Christian ministry on television in not just Nigeria but all over the African Continent with her Atmosphere for Miracles. Nigerian former President, Olusegun Obasanjo through the NBC in May 2004 stopped the airing of miracles on Television, an action that was largely seen by Pastor Chris as targeting Christ Embassy and subsequently took the matter to court.

9. Earlier in 2003, Pastor Chris pioneered the first 24 hour Christian satellite network broadcasting from Africa worldwide.

10. Christ Embassy is one of the 5 largest indigenously established 'Pentecostal' churches in Nigeria and perhaps Africa today however Pastor Chris does not agree with the appellation 'Pentecostal Church'?

11. The Rhapsody of Realities by Pastor Chris translated in 837 languages in 242 countries and domains is widely considered as the most popular devotional in the world. He has authored over 21 books.

12. The Inner City Missions of BLW is a program held to feed the poor in the suburbs and slums of Africa.

A young man named as Mpanjilwa Mulwanda from Zambia, who committed suicide by hanging himself on July 24, barely days after making a joke about it on Facebook.

Mulwanda's death is currently trending on Zambia Social Media and according to multiple Facebook sources, during a chat with his friends on Friday, July 21, he made it known that
he was going to take his life but they all laughed it off. Infact some even encouraged him to do it.


He posted a photo with a rope tied around his neck and his tongue out as he posed for a selfie, but friends thought he was just goofing around.



A concerned Zambian, Simon Freeman, wrote on his death, he said:

“I never knew Mpanjilwa Mulwanda personally but after learning what transpired, seemed he mentioned taking his life to his friends who took it as a joke & probably never talked him out as much as they should have.

I know how friendship is but anyway, one thing this has personally taught me is we should learn to encourage love amongst ourselves.

“You never know what people are going through & just a few encouraging words from you could be what would stop someone from doing something unimaginable, we really need more wise & encouraging people for a better tomorrow.

It’s so unfortunate the brother is gone & nothing can be done about that but we can definitely avoid more incidents like this by loving one another more than expressing hate all in trying to seem like a star. R.I.P Mpanjilwa”..

Mrs Mary Atoyosoye testifies of how her husband and friend survived gun shots from armed robbers yet car shattered

"I want to thank the God of Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo for averting death in my family and removing the garment of Widowhood from me. It was on Monday,19th June,2017 as I prepared to go to Church for the Operation Run Evening prayers by 5pm, suddenly I started feeling feverish so I decided to put on multiple sweaters to reduce the cold and headed straight to the church.
