Unirank or 4icu is a ranking of universities according to how many people clicks the website of those universities. You would do well to disregard the rankings as it has no bearing on the quality of a university in anyway.


There is absolutely NO NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY that comes even remotely close to University of Ibadan in academics with the exception of UNN and Covenant. And I am talking as someone who has deep knowledge of SCOPUS, Research gate, WoS, Google Scholar and Thomson Reuters and I can assure you that any ranking in Nigeria that does not place those three to be top of any academic ranking must be a complete pile of trash.
You may do well to rely on webometrics because it is an academic ranking but the ultimate ranking system is ARWU, THE and QS.

However in the area of available academic facilities UI would be the only public university that would/might manage into top 5. The remaining position would be filled by private unis like covenant, AUN, PAU, ABUAD. However what UI lacks in some facilities it made up with in a good human resource base. UI still produces and retains academics like Gureje Oye who are well rated globally.

NB: I am not affiliated to UI in any shape or form. Just saying the truth.

Soldiers blocked the entrance route to Dapchir town when accessing from Maiduguri, prevented all Journalists and non residents from entering Dapchir community since 5:00am.

By 9:45am, the supposed 'Boko haram' abductors of the school girls drove the 96 Dapchir school girls into the Dapchir town through the other entrance into the town, stop and dropped off all the girls at the front of Dapchir Police Station and drove back through the same route they came in with from there.
NB:

* 96 girls said to be returned, one girl held back for being a christian, 5 girls said to have died out of fear and trauma.

*Many parents still crying and lamenting non return of their daughters; which means number of abducted girls may be more than the 110 told earlier

MY TAKE;
• all military formation and check points were withdrawn two weeks to the abduction

• Amnesty International claimed the military and Police authorities were being informed 4hours before the abduction of the approaching terrorists and their movement but no action from military and the police until abduction

• military came up that 50 girls were recovered the day of the abduction, but later discovered to be lie

• two weeks after, Buhari's told US Secretary of States authoritatively and affirmatively, that the girls would be released very soon. That his government is going to negotiate their release out (so unpresidential)

• Minister of Defence came out last week and told us affirmatively that the girls would be back to their parents by middle of this week

• True to Defence Minister's leak, by Wednesday (today) 96 of Dapchir girls were driven into Dapchir community by the abductors themselves in the broad day light, and the girls were dropped off at the front of the town police station, and them drove back through the same route they came in.

• Military men were said to have blocked the Maiduguri entrance road to Dapchir as early as 5;00am today, and all journalists and visitors were prevented from going into the town until the 'Boko Haram' men had dropped off the girls inside the town.
