I'm a well travelled man. I have built businesses in Africa and in Europe. They're all doing well. However the west and Africa has something in common, they're seemingly corrupt. But unlike Africa, the west have somehow tame this monster.... through Technology, whistle blowing, uncompromising standards that applies to all. In the West, you are discouraged to be corrupt because there's a trail. Everything leads to something and everything. For example in Sweden, where I typically based, there is what you call Bank ID or e-identification. It's has your everything. This is one of the reasons why Sweden and most of the Scandinavian is the least likely place to own a bank account or to run a keyboard business, you know what I mean....that business our brothers learnt from USA....aka yahoo yahoo. I can bet my last krone that 99.9% you be caught if you specialize on that sort of enterprise. Cash is greatly frown upon. Infact you have to register to the govt if your business would be accepting cash. When I first came to Sweden, I came with lots of USD. And I have to pay commission whenever I go to change or receive money from my business via WU. One day I ran into an Igbo man....I guess he'd be reading this too...a correct Nwa afor somewhere at Centraleum, a WU worker who cashed my WU MTCN tha day. And from my ID he factored I'm an Igbo man too. And he spoke the greetings. He asked some questions to ascertain my business in Stockholm, satisfied that I'm a boss and business owner. He gave me a veritable advice. Go get a card quickly, otherwise, they would start wondering how I always love paying in cash and receiving cash from abroad even with the hefty commission they charge on USD. And someone might think I have something to hid. Omoo na so I take call one immigrant friendly bank to open a local krone account for me and top it with a bank card and PayPal too. In Schengen paper trail is important! If you loot, how do you transfer or enjoy your loot in peace? Within hours your details will go viral through out Schengen! This alone is what greatly discouraged them from stealing from their own pot, but wouldn't give a hoot looting your minerals. After all, what business is Benin artifacts doing in European museums abi una papa sell am ni? Rwanda is trying in this regards by investing on Technology and receiving all accruals via Govt mobile money platforms. Recently, as of last year, I had an opportunity to advise a client of need to pay off a fine of $400 for a late application he did on a particular issue. He thought I was bluffing when I told him, no way other than paying the damn $400! Guess what, the other side of all mortal kicks in on him, why not do this, or that. After assessing the loopholes and seeing none, I jejely did the needful for him with the funds I have in my care, and explained everything, insisting if he's not ok, he can ask for refund that he wrongly paid the $400 equivalent. See how Technology discouraged him and potential civil servants who might carve in under pressure? This is why Rwanda has one of the least corruption civil service & govt employees in Africa. Those guys are poor by any stretch of imagination but would never directly or indirectly ask you for bribes etc, not to talk of looting money meant for a govt job. But as a foreigner, if you dull, they go chop you mugu like chop chop FFK..lol. But just less than 90 kilometers away....from border naim them go dey ask you bribe especially Kenya. This is what I think should be applicable to Nigeria, at least if we can't do the Swedish one, we should do the Rwandan one. As a local Tech Company Bigkoko can design a a high Tech contactless Remittance collection platform with top notch Securities for private, local, state or federal govt agencies. We can automate the dues collection such that even 2% diversion to private pockets would be hard to achieve! That is if the local cabals and their fiefdom would allow progress! |
Elections has consequences. Bubu 8 years didn't teach y'all anything. Rather, y'all prefer a man who vow to continue from where bubu stopped, even though bubu by his actions and body language never supported him. Tor....rip to those who die. I hope DSS boss son who vow to go on exile if Asiwaju didn't win is happy now? Ohh I forgot the jobless lad is busy spreading USD at parties ni..... dre11: |

Bravery is not be winning battles....it's how you face insurmountable challenges e.g. The Japs in WW 2. The Germans in WW 2. The Vietnamese in Vietnam war. The binis in the battle of 1813. The Opobos in the war against British oil merchants. The Igbos of yesteryears against the British, and today against Fulani herders. YorubaDemonswag: |
Do you mean Col Victor Banjo who paused the Biafran Liberation Incursion at Ore, rather than pressing home to the full Objective of the incursion, capture of Lagos and the full war cabinet of Gowon and Awo, and to which he was recalled and executed with Ifeanjuna, because he gave Col Gowon apple time to fled from Lagos to Kaduna and rally the British to deliver full war armament? That incursion was what really rattled Britain to support the war fully, and it still took Nigeria two more years to achieve an end of the war with huge costs which still reverberate today. If Banjo didn't pause at Ore, you won't be a Nigerian today, as you might be answering Benoise or Oduduwa. KoshCAD: |
I know say this e-war go today.....chaii I no quick come... Abeg no be Fulani fault ohhh. You go sleep, then they attack you. Blame your self abeg. Fulani attack people in their sleep? Is it their fault or their lazy enemies's for falling asleep? |
Col Joe Achuzia was more like Field Marshal Erwin Rommel of WW2 Germany. Both formidable military strategists who routed their foes completely in almost all Battle. Imagine, General Ojukwu actually saw Joe the Hannibal on time, and he was the one who led the incursion to Mid West, rather Victor Banjo & Ifeanjuna... Today, SW Region would have been practically independent! Anyway.. BKayy: |

This is how you guys encourage shady people. Did Mbaka tell you he needs money from HE Peter Obi to pay school fees. In a possible HE Peter Obi govt, they will vomit all they stole. Every shishi..... I'm glad Asiwaju is trying Sha in that regards. SoNature: |
