From what I understood from the story, the man never applied for a stay in the country and maybe because it didn't affect him in anyway, he didn't find the need to cause he was also married to a Briton and that would have been a viable route to citizenship. He just felt that staying in the country that long, these things where supposed to happen automatically and unfortunately, no be so e dey work. They should just give him the residency cause overtime, he has been a good tenant in the country.

we are made to believe that God is real,but is it? Christianity as a religion is fairly new and young barely 2000 years old but there are religions ,gods and goddesses that people worship from 11,000 years before Christianity,if you check the list of religions and gods from ancient times it will be in the hundreds if not thousands and this leads us back to the perplexing question of the epicurean paradox,which asks if God is omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient how then did God wait for more than 11,000 years to send his beloved son to come and save us,what will then. Happen to the inhabitants of Damascus Syria that worship other gods in ignorant bliss 11,000 years before Christ or the people of Byblos ,Lebanon that have their own gods 7000 years before christ,Athens Greece 7000 years,susa Iraq 6000 years old,Sidon Lebanon 5000 years old,these are some cities that existed thousands of years before Christianity with their own religion,does it then means they will all go to hell because God in all of his magnificence forget to send his beloved son earlier to those people or maybe they will have their own judgement day were the ignorant maybe bailed in court
