frank2zee:Before you come doubting, have it in mind that I know what I'm saying, and I'm not asking you to believe me. I know people who have started the service with SSCE and are currently hanging their stars. There are people who are patient enough to wait until they become commissioned officers For you to think a senior officer won't allow his child get into the service with SSCE is wrong mentality. Does he know where he'll be tomorrow? Can he beat his chest and say with all certainty that he'll still have such opportunity tomorrow? Some people think further than you can imagine. Tomorrow may come and this same senior officer would be retired and would be begging those in service for this same SSCE slot and won't get it. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush. And again let me tell you, there are junior officers who are doing far better than their superiors in the service. In as much as your rank is important, uniform work is all about appointments, not ranks. This is not to say ranks aren't important as everyone will want to hang those heavy stars. I'll rather be a junior officer and have good appointments than be a senior officer with no appointment. At the end of the day na money we dey find. 4 Likes |

BENCHOKCONSULT:I can't confirm when Degree holders will be called, but I can confirm that recruitment (documentation) is still on going. I was I'm my state command yesterday, and believe me you, people are still reporting. I was told that replacement for degree holders hasn't started cos of the new CGIS. Replacement for other ranks is on going though. A former PCO in my state command who got tired of waiting for the replacement for degree holders, got his son in using his SSCE. So gentlemen, be patient and don't give up just yet. I've always said, it isn't over until it is over. Exercise patience, and most importantly be prayerful while holding on to your various connects. There is still hope. 2 Likes |

All those waiting for replacement Y'all should remain calm. Do you think it is a coincidence that most of you here are being told to wait by your connect? Information reaching me few days ago at my state command was that, another batch of appointment letters will still be given out, when the CGIS is back from the trip he made. But, those coming through replacement won't be paid this 3 months salary, as they didn't attend induction. And this will enable the ogas at the top pocket it. BUT don't lose hope just yet. For those of you discouraging others here, I can assure you that more people are going to be joining you in your various training schools beyond your expectation. This will be done whether you like it or yes, it will be done. I repeat, those waiting for slots and replacement, remain calm, it is not over until it is over. Even days to go for POP in training schools, people will still be coming. Take it or leave it 10 Likes |

Zacks43:Just so you know, induction isn't purely parade. You'll attend lectures on some courses pataining to the job. You'll be attached to different units during your induction. Internal posting will take you to different offices just as it does to other officers. So don't think induction is just parade. 1 Like |

Anybody expecting allowance is just setting he or her self up for disappointments. Just zero your mind ehen it comes to allowance matter. As for pay during induction, you'll be paid. But remove mind from allowance. 1 Like |

Ori9:New recruits don't wear complete uniform until after undergoing training at their various training schools. During induction you'll start with your white and white. After which you'll then be issued jungle hats, then white and trousers (either combat or the trouser meant for cream). You'll use this until you go for training. Only after you are commissioned will you start wearing jackets, cream and all. 4 Likes |

Kaeboy:You can't specifically prove it, but I who has proves say it is still being used but you say its not being used. Do you know that the police were banned from using theirs too? Except when on joint operations with the military or on other special duties. But do you see them using it or not? I who has prove is telling you that some immigration personnel's still use theirs to offices as of today! And who even told you the combat is only meant for armed squads? Combats are usually worn on Fridays, that is the day meant for it. |

GhostOfAPA:Different uniforms for different days of the week. Some days for cream, some days for jacket(this is mostly for commissioned officers and few others from other ranks), then some days for combat. Just so you know, the camouflage was banned some years ago by the president, though people still wear it. But it is basically for anyone who can afford it...but have it at the back of your mind that this was banned, as the president wanted just military personnel's to wear camouflage, while the police were allowed to wear on special duties. But like I said, people still use it. Hope this answers your questions. 1 Like |

What you don't find offensive or insulting, someone else finds them offensive and insulting. If you find what I said offensive or disrespectful, then I'm sorry. It is uncalled for the way some of you talk to your fellow officers to be. You might be an aspiring ASI and you might think the person you're talking to is an aspiring IA. But that doesn't mean you should talk to them anyhow. Respect is earned o, and not forced. He or she might respect the rank you carry and not the person carrying the rank. And in case you don't know, as far as the service is concerned you're still rank-less. You're not even cadets yet. And this people you talk to anyhow are people you would attend induction with and train together, irrespective of your rank to be. Y'all got to show yourselves some respect in this thread. You are all inductions mates, irrespective of the rank. Earn your respect!!! A word they say is enough for the wise. 17 Likes |

FSLC is actually not an exam. And it is actually gotten to show you finished primary school. Because you see grades doesn't mean is an exam. Those grades just shows how you performed in the said subjects throughout your stay there. FSLC isn't an exam!!! 1 Like |
