Goodmorning fellow farmers.,,pls í need a rescure.
My birds have droped and still droping in production. How can í salvaje the situation. The have droped to about 30% within jus 3weeks.the are physicaly healthy and active but production is declining. The are divided in 3 pen each housing 2k. 2pens are zartech and the other is Chi.

HOW IT STARTED.
2month ago one of the room was hit with ecoli and NCD.. Pen3
We experience alot of necktwisting and parálysis in that Pen. About 70 were isolated within jus few hrs. About half of them later made it.
Fortunately we were able to rescure the situación.

3weeks ago we stareted experiencin drop in production in the 3pen and 1 or 2 mortality was recorded, it was diagnosed by a vet and was said to be NCD, days later another motality so we took for culture and sensitity and nothing was found.
We treated the whole farm for NCD and cocci too, gave vitamina bt nothing was working. Due to drop in production and drop in egg Price we decided to start feeding the birds with locally made feeds.
We gave Pen 1 & 2 first, the 3rd Pen was still on hybrid and still declining in production the Pen 1 &2 started droping in production too. ..we had to revert all to using the local feeds. Mortality was recorded in pen 1 and 2 it was said to be excess fats, however 2weeks later the situation is getting worst. We tried everyting bt nothing is working.we decided to change their feed again. 10days ago we started giving them vital feeds which is New to them but still the drop in production continues. Rm1 &2 are less than a year in laying. Pen 3 is just 5-6 month in laying.

At present the are physically healthy but the production has dropped significantly. No sign of sickness both in there appearance and droppings.

Pen3 got to 47 crates a month
Now 33
4-5months in laying
Chi birds

Pen1&2 50 crates 3 weeks ago
Now 35
8 month in laying
Zartech birds

Plz I need ur advise and experience. How can I come out of this nightmare. Waiting. Regards. Still awaiting response..gurus in the house pls come to my aid.

am still giving them commercial feeds. Out of four rms am only using concentrate on 1 of the rms..dou the result is still not convencing.

It depends on how u go about it. It won't affect production if u change slowly over a period of 2 weeks. Start by mixing old and new feed in a ratio of say, 90:10. Then gradually increase the qty of new feed until it reaches 100% by day 14. I dont need to tell u that what will happen if the new feed is low quality. Rather than test it on pthe whole birds, divide them into 4 groups or so and test it on one group.

Use a foreign concentrate like koudjis and combine with maize, soyabeans cake and groundnut cake
Use this formula after two weeks
50kg - 325 kg maize - 75kg soyabean cake - 50 kg groundnut cake
This will be richer than even most local Nigerian super starter and cost here is about 3,200-3,300 per bag

Good morning fellow farmers. Pls I need your candid advice. Am trying to reduce cost of feeding so I want to try compounding rather than the finish feed am using, now that the price of maize has gone down.mixing the ingredient (compounding locally) and using concentrate? What is the difference? and which is better? And also what could be the effect on the birds switching from company feeds to locally compounded one. Pls advice.

Give the 2100 birds 10.5 bags of feed daily....... Animal care layer or hybrid layer..... Den give Ocs boost for 7days.... You will see result in 2weeks

thanx a lot . BT the 2100 birds where separated into rm A and rm B. Each having 1050. Rm A got to 23 crates now 19/20 rm B got to 31 now 23. Both were fed hybrid 5bags each. Due to the drop in production and drop in the price of egg I had to reduce their feeds to 4 each ..increasing it to 10.5 now will take me below breakeven. Am realy worried right now ..pls guide me more .

Do you trust your farm hands to the point of No Pilfering/Theft?

The are physically healthy And very active. The eat and drink accordingly and have been giving their full vaccination @ appropriate time. The birds are divided into 1050 per room. A and B. The birds in room A got to 23 crates and stopped now the are giving 20 crates sometimes less. the second 1050 got to 31 crates and went down to 23 crates within 10 days.. They both have been dewormed , boasted , eat the same food ..even though the consumption of room A is a little slow compared to that of room B. In summary I have 2100 bird, physically healthy ,3 months old in laying, production 62%, deep liter, zartech breed, hybrid feeds, 10 bags per day,location jos. Pls how can I improve my birds performance. Thanks in anticipation of a prompt response. Pls expert in the house, i await ur kind response. Thank you. can any expert comment pls.

Good afternoon house . my laying birds had coccs and I treated them with maxicoccs the are better now but since then their production droped and still dropping from 75 to 64% . within 1week. The are about 2months in laying.the look healhty and the consume their food and water. Pls what should I do?

Isolate the healthy ones for FPV.
You can't wait till all are healthy.
Let's check it this way. Fowl pox vaccine is due to be administered. Now you still waiting for them to recover from cocci disease?
Don't ever wait for fowlpox to infest your birds...That will be the end.
Wen the sick ones recovers from the cocci then go on wt the FPV.

Good morning house . pls my 7.5 weeks pullet have salmonella according to the culture conducted on them . we have been treating them for coccidiocis initially for 3weeks BT cudnt see improvement so we had to run culture test. The problem now is we are yet to administer fowl pox to them because of the mortality we are picking as a result of their sickness. Will delaying their fowl pox affect them...or should we go ahead and administer it to them as suggest by a vet. The medication prescribed to us for the selmonella is .....can't remember exactly BT starts wit flo..pls any advice is appreciated

I'll advice you administer alongside with Admacine in case it happens to be enteritis. It has similar symptom with coccidiosis

Good morning house. My 5weeks pullet have chronic coccidiosis that's what the pm reveals..and are dyeing. The seems to have resistance of coccs drug...pls any suggestion what I should give them?
