You guys should stop being childish for once and look at dis issue critical and mature! Even obi is being childish about this! Am anambarian to start with and after studing dis issue for a some time now, in all honesty these are d facts I have gotten from d whole issue. 1. Orient petrolume was given an oil prospecting license by fG that covers the almost d whole anambra basin, this basin covers anambra enugu kogi delta and edo states. 2.Orient is fixing a modula refinery at aguleri-otu which is in anambra state (not yet completed) 3.Orient has been drilling oil wells all over d basin i mentioned above...they are currently working on five wells 2 in anambra state 2 in enugu state and 1 in ibaji in kogi state. 4. The one dat is presently produce about 2000 barrels of oil daily is the one in ibaji in kogi state, the other wells are still being explored but haven't started gushing out crude oil. 5.Orient is currently storing these oil produce in d ibaji oil well in barges at d banks of d anambra river in anticipation of refining them once the modular refinery they are fixing in aguleri-otu is completed, they are also planning to start selling d oil if more are produced from other wells dat are being currently explored. From d facts I listed above you can honestly without ethnic baised mind say that anambra is not yet an oil producing state! Kogi state is, Anambra and enugu state will soon be cause there are oil in their wells but they are still being worked on to start producing. So in tecnical terms the president declared the wrong state an oil producing state on the 30 august 2012... for the argument that because anambra people/govt has being the only people that has invested billions in orient doesn't make them oil producing yet, they will be but not yet! Another thing is that because you help your landlord renovate or reconstruct his house doesn't make u the owner of d house. Oil is on d exclusive right of the federal govt and 13% derivation fund of d 2000 barrels being produced in ibaji oil well should rightly be paid to kogi, and not forgeting, kogi should have being the one declared oil producing state by the president on the 30th aug.....the only money dat anambra should be getting from the ibaji oil well is the percentage profit they are entitled to through their investment in orient petrolume. Because orient is suppose to be getting 45% or 55% of d oil sales depending on the oil sharing plan they entered with the federal govt. Solution: Whether anambra like it or not, kogi state is the owner of d oil being currently produced now and are entitiled to 13% derivation fund and should also be decalared oil producing state whether they have invested in orient or not....a simple case is, bayelsa is entitiled to oil being produced in their land and recieves money without investing one kobo in agip or shell. |
2mch: Bloody liar. You can go to the press and say what you like. But at the end of the day, we know what is going on.Because ur neigbourhood doesn't have light doesn't mean other places are not getting up to 20hrs of light! And why would someone d power problem is affecting his production be lying for d govt ![]() |

And they say nigeria economy is not growing! ![]() |
Tusky44: I wish the Chinese Exim bank would loan Ibadan some cash to change the roof sheets of their houses. That way it can look like a city at least. ![]() Dude you funny! LMFAO |
The catchment area of this project is not even ibadan! Its the stretch of developments and towns springing up along dat road from berger till sagamu interchange. Anyday there is a church program at redeem camp that 1000 capacity will be completely insuffcient! I think there shouldn't be a cap on d carrying capacity of d project, because more coaches and engines can be added as demand grows... Those that are saying that the route is not viable is just smoking some pipes. Na just trabalistic jealousy dat is worrying d person! Meanwhile am igbo. |
mens dept: This is very disappointing.Very unintelligent comment you made there! Have you read the reason for the anambra airport?? Pls go and read it again...first of all nigeria has d market and population for airports in all d 36 states of the federation, some might have high volume of travellers some might not. If nigeria has like five world class carriers with each having not less than 60 aircrafts and are charging like 3000-5000 naira for an hour flight,do u tink d present airports we have now can handle d volume of air passengers that will be travelling by air and will want their filghts to land as near possible to their destinations! We are talking about 170 million people here and heading to 200 million soonest. Since nigeria is heading to become the top 20 economies of d world, these amount of airports will definately crop up once d govt gets its economic polices right and current security challenges becomes a thing of past because the economy is growing whether you have noticed it or not |
^^ Yes I agree d orient influenced airport is d most valuable profitable new airport of all d state proposed airports! But what I don't get is why it is lacking sufficent fund to execute, why d banks are shying away from offering d loan d promoters need for all d orient mega projects!!! There is no sure banker project like oil and gas projects. The projects planned out at dat aguleri side is sure banker projects: crude oil producing and refining, gas sales to industries and gas power plants, internationl cargo/local airport, real estate projects....these are projects that once they start running will comfortable pay back the loans that were used to construct them! Why are the banks not eager to fund these well thought out fantastic orient projects They are d kind of projects foreign money lenders will die to fund.If the banks are demanding that anambra state goverment should guarrantee or surety d loan, the govt should quickly obliged them. Because What the state stands to gain from these projects when they start functioning is enormous! Its unimaginable what these projects can do to dat umuleri-otuocha area! It can comfortably start a new city there within 3yrs. |
Look how beautiful her hair is! Woow! |
Nice one! Especially the part that he will soon convene a national retreat that will address critical issues in Nigeria Sports.... After watching american movies and seeing how they inculcate sports into their daily family lives and school curiculum I think nigeria has a lot to learn...we should build at least one sports court or pitch in almost every street in nigeria! There are open spaces available and if need be people houses should be bought by govt and converted to an open space for sports....just like redeem church is in almost every street in lagos. When these streets sports become popular, believe me individuals or coporate bodies will rush to sponsor them cause it will present them traffic audience to promote their products or services, cause when I come back from work I can decide to walk down to d sports court to watch a game which can be played both day and night, providing me a place to go and relax and be entertained....and these street sponsored tournements will grow from community/area to local goverment to state to national tournements, and you can imagine the talents that will be produced for national teams and individual sports from there...this should also be done in schools...I think every growing child should have one extra curiculum activity to be doing while schooling e.g sports music, art, acting, comedy, dancing etc, cause God has inputed at least one talent in everybody. And why is nigeria lottery industry money not being used by govt to grow our sports All those baba ijebu and coporate bodies promos taxes should go to sports, Cause I knw billions of naira can be gotten from there. |

*I am improving the efficiency of the banking system and currency operations. **Is it popular? I don’t know and frankly don’t care. **I have a job to do and will do it. **If I am the target of criticism by Nigerians, they are wasting their time This is the latest response from the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi on his intended introduction of N5,000 notes and why he will not back down on the policy, irrespective of its unpopularity and rejection by Nigerians. “My job is to do my best in whatever circumstanceI find myself. I did not choose this time to be CBN governor. If we have fiscal leakages and reserves are crashing and naira weakening I have to tighten naira supply. Interest rates go up everyone attacks SLS. But you can have low rates with high inflation, a weak naira and no reserve buffers. You can’t eat your cake and have it. I am improving the efficiency of the banking system and currency operations. Is it popular? I don’t know and frankly don’t care. I have a job to do and will do it. The problem is that the CBN is the only institution doing anything. Roads are not being built. We have no new airports. No progess on new power plants. No rail lines. So every time we do something all hell breaks loose. Governance is not about seeking popularity. The only thing that will stop this is a solid argument proving that the costs outweigh the benefits. But when people start fabricating falsehood such as those claiming a bill of N40b for new notes they obviously are not interested in the nation or policybut have other targets. If I am the target I wish them luck. But they are wasting their time”. – Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. http://dailypost.com.ng/2012/09/15/introduction-n5000-note-nigerians-wasting-time-sanusi-lamido/

I can confirm dat onitsha-owerri road has been completed!
|
By Mike Onolememen At my inaugural meeting with key stake holders on assumption of office at the Federal Ministry of Works in July, 2011, I pointed out that the Transformation Agenda of the President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s Administration requires us at the Federal Ministry of Works to change those embedded organizational culture that have continued to hinder the efficient delivery of services to our fellow country men and women, by creating a new vision for the ministry. The essence of the new vision is to bequeath to our nation, good and motorable road network. I promised that I will provide the necessary leadership and support to make that vision the new reality in the ministry. One year after, are we on course on this new reality in the road sector? Yes. Are we better off than we were on year ago when road project sites were abandoned and travelers suffered untold hardships on our roads from Ore to Benin, Onitsha to Owerri, Gombe to Potiskum, Abuja to Lokoja, Ibadan to Ilorin, among others? The answer is YES! Are we where we want to be? The answer is NOT YES YET! I understand the challenges we face in the road sector. I know that many Nigerians are still unhappy with the state of some of our roads. Though rehabilitation and reconstruction works have been stepped up on majority of our ongoing projects and about 11 road projects such as the Vom-Manchok road (Plateau State), Yola-Numan road (Adamawa State), Gombe Bye-pass (Gombe State), Kaduna Refinery road (Kaduna State), Kano- Daura-Mai Adua road (Katsina State), Aba- Owerri road (Abia State), Onitsha-Owerri road (Anambra State) and Oyo-Ogbomosho road (Oyo State) have been completed, too many Nigerians that do not ply these roads do not appreciate the progress we have made in the last one year. This is understandable, as Nigeria is a very big country with about 35,000 km of federal roads spread across the 36 States of the federation. However, in furtherance of our commitment to improve federal roads network in all parts of Nigeria, we are opening a new chapter in the delivery of services on Nigerian roads, with “Project Safe Passage” on federal roads across the country. The implication of this new initiative is to ensure that by December 2012, Nigerians will be able to experience good road corridors devoid of potholes, which will in turn promote safe motoring and passage on federal roads across the country. The strategy for the realization of the safe passage project is to ensure that contractors engaged by the Federal Ministry of Works and FERMA take immediate steps to recover all sections of their road alignments that have failed or pot-hole ridden as a matter of urgency, before proceeding with the normal programme of works for the contract. In other words, “Project Safe Passage” will be considered as a contingency for failed sections of road alignments. Federal roads without subsisting contracts will be taken over by FERMA through its direct labour scheme for the implementation of “Project Safe Passage”. In order to empower contractors to be able to deliver on this project, the Federal Ministry of Works has paid all outstanding certificates on all its projects to the respective contractors. Contractors with ongoing contracts on federal roads have since been directed to submit their programme of works for the ‘safe passage project.’ Contractors will be held accountable to the approved programme of works. As the contractors commence work on this important project that has Mr. President’s endorsement, Federal Government accords great importance to this ‘safe passage project’ which is expected to bestow significant safety benefits to an eagerly expectant people of this country who ply these roads daily. On our part, the Federal Ministry of Works shall provide all necessary support to make it a worthwhile venture. Mike Onolememen, Minister of Works, writes from Abuja www.vanguardngr.com/2012/09/providing-motorable-road-for-nigerians-is-my-commitment/ |

Lagos- Aliko Dangote has always liked making things to sell. As a child he boiled up sugar to make sweets he sold around town; these days he cooks up limestone in factories that produce millions of tons of cement.http://www.iol.co.za/news/africa/meet-africa-s-richest-man-1.1380247#.UFDCBXm3sQA |

BlackPikiN: My ex was an enugu girl though from another state. Such a homely sweet girl. The Igbo spoken in enugu urban is so sexy...chai.. When she starts speaking that Igbo(ndi ebeni), my head go begin twist. And you let her go?!? |
centje: my dear, you gave it the right description. Its a very excellent place to raise kids. Trust me!! There are different grades of schools from day care centers to universities. The list of their names will be endless. With the good road network in the state, School run wont be a problem. Aside school there are alot of amusement parks and other fun centers. But for now there's no large park. The large one serving the state was converted to mall, with some fun facilities attached to it.You can say dat again!! The pics dat has been uploaded on dis thread since it started has been amazing! What I noticed is that old tag on enugu of just being a civil servant city and fear of low patronage of businesses is gradually fading away...cause if it so all these countless number of business(hotels, malls, boutique, radio station, clubs, schools, parks, cinemas, filling station, factories, housing estates, block of apartments, churches, hospitals! I can go on and on...I don't tink they will be encouraged to set up all d aformentioned if money is still lacking in dat town! |
Meenn! They way you guys are talking about enugu brings goose bumps on me and makes me just wanna pack my things here in lagos, close business and relocate back to enugu! Dat place is turning to d perfect cool place to raise kids!! |
Dis Guy: nigerian people shaI think those customers bought ticket before the annoucement! Even jimoh ibrahim said they would get refunds tru d channels they bought their tickets. |
PROUD-IGBO:Most of these cities you called are not d same path!! I wonder how a rail track can connect them!? |
asha 80: as the fg wants to upgrade the enugu airport they also have fully repair enugu onisha and enugu ph highways as most people landing in this airport are likely to use the aformentioned roadsThe two roads are getting attention! Slow now but will get faster after the raining season which is almost over! The contractor on onitsha-enugu highway just receive funding from SURE-P program and has no reason not to expedite work on d road. |
“These projects altogether accessed the sum of N159.045 billion under CACS. Analysis of data collected from the sampled projects showed systemic improvements in employment status, output and capacity efficiency of the projects. On further disaggregation, the following were the direct impact of CACS on the agricultural economy. The rice sub-sector has witnessed an unprecedented growth under CACS. “Over 10 percent of national demand has been met under CACS. Some 30 projects that improved production under CACS are as follows: Ebony Agro increased its output to 25,600mt per annum of paddy. Umza Farms raised its production capacity from 22,000mt to 38,000mt and employed 57 permanent and 160 casual staff.
