The Board of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has approved the appointment of four Deputy Comptroller Generals and eleven (11) Assistant Comptroller Generals as well as the promotion of 2,707 senior officers to various ranks with effect from 1st January, 2020.

A breakdown of the appointments includes:

* ACG Mohammed Abba-Kura
* ACG Saidu Galadima
* ACG Gimba Umar

* ACG Kayode Olusemire
* ACG Lena Oyama
* ACG Florence Inuk
* ACG Lami Wushishi

Some of the newly promoted Comptrollers are the Customs National PRO Joseph Attah, Babajide Adeniyi, Anthony Udeze, Suleiman Chiroma among others.

The full statistics of the board approval is as follows: DCGs 4, ACGs: 11, DC-CC=35, AC-DC=64, CSC-AC=118, SC-CSC=244, DSC-SC=339, ASC I-DSC=995, ASC II-ASCI=655 and IC-ASC II=257. Of the 2,707 senior officers promoted 204 are support staff.

The Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) congratulated the newly appointed and promoted Officers. He further charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them.

Am not saying I have any genuine source about the recruitment but what I know for a fact is that this memo is fake besides the fact that I have the Oppurtunity to have seen first hand correspondences of the Board and that of the management.
But not even that, am sure most of us are working in some other MDAs or private sector, just critically look at the memo from top to down, search even who is the current Secretary of the Board and see.

I thought as much, that memo should've bore NCS letterhead.
But also, ACG Oyama is officer in-charge of board.
I can't say if it's genuine or fake

It comes from the Payroll office. Every govt MDA has payroll office that sends data of personnel every month to IPPIS to determine who to pay and who not to pay, and amount to pay.
So if you f*ck up (habitual lateness to work, AWOL, etc) with your parastatal and the mgt decides to punish you by withholding/reducing your salary, it's the job of the Head to instruct the payroll office to do that.
Most times salary can be stopped by the payroll office on good faith eg. Study leave without pay (esp when the study will take more than a yr).

Most revenue generating MDAs aren't under IPPIS.
Govt don't pay them, they pay themselves.

That was before. Since Contributory Pension Scheme started, your pension starts counting from Month 1.
So, if you change job, all you need to do is to give the new job place your pension PIN and inform your Pension administrator of your new job and give them your new employment letter.
By doing this, your new job place continues paying your pension contributions to the PA so that after you retire you claim your total money.

Does it affect NCS recruitment too?

No.
NCS and others are 2019 recruitment and allocation for it has been approved.
This embargo on employment is from 2020.

Unfortunately, there's nothing else you can do about it as screening ended on Monday, those who went on Tuesday were all turned back.
