The period after you have your baby can be filled with countless emotions. You may feel anything from joy to fear to sadness. If your feelings of sadness become severe and start to interfere with your everyday life, you may be experiencing postpartum depression (PPD).

Symptoms usually start within a few weeks of delivery, though they may develop up to six months afterward. They may include mood swings, trouble bonding with your baby, and difficulty thinking or making decisions.

If you feel like you may be depressed, you aren’t alone. Approximately 1 in 7 women in the United States develop PPD.

The most effective way to diagnose and treat PPD is by visiting your doctor. They can evaluate your symptoms and devise the best treatment plan for you. You may benefit from psychotherapy, antidepressants, or some combination of both.

There are also things you can do at home to help cope with everyday life. Keep reading for more on how to deal with PPD.

1. Exercise when you can
Can’t fit in a long exercise session? Try working out for 10 minutes a few times during the day. Fitness Blender is a good resource for short, simple workouts that you can do without any equipment.
2. Maintain a healthy diet
Healthy eating alone won’t cure PPD. Still, getting into the habit of eating nutritious foods can help you feel better and give your body the nutrients you need. Try planning the week’s meals on the weekend and even preparing healthy snacks ahead of time. Think whole foods, such as chopped carrots and cubed cheese or apple slices and peanut butter, that are easy to grab on the go.
3. Create time for yourself
You may feel stuck on the couch breast-feeding. Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed by work, household responsibilities, or your older children. Instead of dealing with these stresses alone, reach out for help. Take up your mother-in-law on her offer of free babysitting. Let your partner or another trusted adult take the baby for an hour or two.

Politics / Obaseki Has Good Plans For Edo On Paper, Nothing On Ground— Captain Hosa Okunbo by Billionsclub: 7:33am On Sep 25, 2020
Edo State-born business magnate, and philanthropist, Captain Hosa Okunbor, has said Governor Godwin Obaseki has good plans for the state. But that everything was on paper and nothing on ground.
Okunbor said this in a no holds barred interview with Vanguard , where he also revealed how his quarrel with Governor Obaseki started and why he is supporting Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the September 19 governorship poll.
In the interview (fully published in tomorrow’s
Vanguard ), Captain Hosa Okunbor also revealed why he will spend his last kobo on Ize-Iyamu, why he is defending himself, how he knelt to beg Obaseki against fighting Oshiomhole and that Obaseki does not have the attributes of a good leader.
ALSO READ: Edo Election: Obaseki Dedicates Successful End Of Ward Campaigns To God
He told Vanguard : “If Godwin presents to you his plans for Edo State on PowerPoint, you will kiss his feet. It is like in the Bible when the devil said take all this and bow before me and Jesus said, ‘get thee behind me Satan’.
“All those packages that he presented, none was done. I learned most of them were all on paper and they continue to be on paper and consultancy services attached to most of them.
“Of course, as we speak, most of those projects are not on ground and I can’t be deceived. Some can be deceived but I cannot.”
Hosa Okunbo also accused the governor of propaganda, with which he had deceived Edo the Diaspora.
His words: “A situation where you have 600 children packed in a room, selling propaganda on social media of projects that are not there, is appalling.
“That is why most of our brothers in the Diaspora are sold on his agenda, but they do not know that most of those projects are just not on the ground.
“You can’t continue selling propaganda because when you tell lies continuously it becomes truth in some peoples’ ears.
“You sell propaganda; you impoverished them and then when it is election time, you now throw corns at them and tell them to see white and call it black. I will not allow that in a society I grew up in.
“I don’t live permanently in Benin, but I have always retraced my steps to my home because there is a saying that a child that doesn’t remember where he comes from is lost.
“I am completely in touch with my environment back home. I know that is where I am from and whatever I can do to relate with my people, I always do.”

one of the most painful thing in life is when you are accuse wrongly. when someone says you do something that you didn't do.
A boy in my area who does menial job to survive was accused of stealing. Someone came to their house to steal and the thief was enter all the rooms in the house. it is a passage house. the thief broke into all the rooms in the house but didn't break his. He became a suspect because the thief broke other people's room but not his. he was publicly disgrace. a large crowd of people surrounded him. after all these, he was freed and they said he was not the one. the boy later packed out of the house. The worst thing is that not everyone in the large crowd was reached to discard the wrong mindset that he was a thief. This guy is an hustler. He searches for menial job and he is hard working.

Buhari ’ s position was contained in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity , Garba Shehu, titled ‘Edo election : President Buhari urges parties, candidates , security agents to behave responsibly .’
Shehu quoted Buhari as saying , “I am passionately committed to free and fair election , but my own commitment is not enough if other actors at ground zero refuse to abide by the rules .
“I want to see democratic standards in the country raised higher at every level , but these cannot be achieved when politicians resort to do -or -die methods to gain power by any means or machination .
“The do -or - die mentality to politics is a threat to free and fair elections because the actors are more focused on winning than caring about a fair outcome that reflects the will of the people .”

Babcock confirms N25,000 COVID-19 test fee
Published September 16, 2020September 16, 2020
Daud Olatunji and Grace Edema
BABCOCK University Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has confirmed that it asked each student resuming for the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic session to pay N25,000 for a COVID-19 test.
The university explained that it could not afford to toy with lives of its staff and students on the school premises.
The Director of Marketing and Communication, Dr. Joshua Suleiman, disclosed this while responding to questions from our correspondents on Tuesday.
Suleiman said the school would have asked the returning students to do the test elsewhere and present the certificate, but was mindful of fake certificates.
He said, “Babcock University returning students are expected to be screened for COVID-19 on arrival at the subsidised cost of N25,000 at the BUTH.
“They will do it at BUTH so that we can vouch for the authenticity of the result. We want to avoid a situation where some people may bring in fake COVID-19 result. We don’t want to risk the life of any of our students or staff.
“They are also to resume with their personal safety kits, including an infrared thermometer (for those that can afford them), a pack of disposable face masks or three reusable ones as well as hand sanitisers.”
While speaking on the internal arrangement made for further safety of the students, Suleiman said “the institution will resume in two batches – first to resume are the final year students in 400 Level, 500 and 600 Levels) next Monday and others on October 25.
On the allegation of hike in the school fees, the spokesman of the university denied the allegation.

The problem I have with this generation is that they always HEAR but they don't LISTEN. Just because you are trying to prove me wrong doesn't mean you are right.

Firstly, a pastor could be seen as a father. Let's take for instance your biological father. it is not all things that your biological father do that you like. Sometimes, he does some wrong and painful thing to you. How many times have you come online to criticize them? Some of us have seen so wrong doings by our biological fathers, we don't put them on social media. ask yourself, why? I guess the answer is because he is your father. You can decide to criticize another father for that same attitude or what look like that same attitude that your father did. but you will never criticize your father. There are fathers who supports their children to do YAHOO ( internet fraudster) . There are fathers who encourage their children to do prostitution, just because of money. There are fathers who encourage their children to do malpractice. This is to mention but a few. Have you wondered why those children don't expose or criticize their fathers? I guess it is because they are family. EVEN SIBLINGS WILL NOT PUBLICLY CRITICIZE THEIR OWN SIBLINGS because THEY ARE FAMILY. same thing CHRISTIANS SHOULD NOT BE DOING THE SAME. We are ONE BODY. We can correct by PRAYER OR BY REACHING TO THAT PERSON or PERSONS

finally, I often say that the right thing done in the wrong way is wrong. Pastors and Christians do err because we are humans. We are also family because we are from the body of Christ. Let's stop fighting ourselves through criticism. let's fight for each other and not against each other.
I know some people will still come here and say irrelevant things because they have made up their mind to fight pastors and Christians. their bitterness does not have an end. But I pray that you will reconsider. I love you all

I am not surprised that you said this. Can you criticize the Muslim clerics ? you all are running to comment here because it is a Christian discussion. If christians are as rugged as Muslims, can you dare to criticize them? I love Muslims because they are more united
secondly, if you are truly a Christian, do you think public criticism is the way out? Absolutely not public criticism.
lastly, How many times do you pray for you fellow church? how many times in a week do you take out time to pray for your pastor?

Family / Why Are We Christians Like This? by Billionsclub: 7:57am On Sep 08, 2020
It is painful when I hear this young generation talking against men of God. Some people have even gone to the extent of trying to trend by criticizing men of God. The worst part of it is that christians are not United to do the needful by supporting their own. I can boldly say that most people who criticize pastors are not Muslims. Can you imagine a Christian criticizing another Christian on air or social media? Can't you use that same energy to pray for them if you are unable to reach them. When your brother is naked, can you watch him or her or video him or her and put him on social media all in the name of correction? This has to stop. Just because you are a member of a particular church doesn't mean that the other pastors are not your brothers. Don't forget that we have two types of church, which are local and universal church. We all belong to the universal church. If anyone speaks against another pastors or Christians, you are equally speaking against yourself because we all are the body of Christ.
I am not saying these pastors are right or wrong but all I am saying is that we should take out time to pray for them when you feel or know that something is wrong somewhere. Let's learn to cover each other's unclothedness. If you truly want to correct them and you cannot reach them, go on your knees and pray for them. There is no limit in the realm of the spirit. Stop criticizing pastors, infact, some of them are not even our mate.
Finally, always know we are not perfect. Pastors are human being like us. They also make mistakes. Don't use their title to think they don't err. Make up your mind today to pray for them and stand for them even if they are not from your church. Always remember, if Jesus was in your shoes, would He say or act the way you do?

Family / What Can One Do For These Twins? by Billionsclub: 9:24am On Sep 05, 2020
There is a trend I created sometime ago about a twin in my street who are orphans. I said they have not been going to lessons since the covid19. so I decided to employ someone to be teaching them even though it was going to be easy considering the fact that I am a teacher. I won't be chanced to teach them because I take home lessons in different houses.
I finally employed someone to teach them but the person employed to be teaching them complained to me that they were not ready to learn,so I went to the twin and the grandmother they are staying with, and spoke to them that they should change but they refused. I did spoke to them on two occasions but they refused to change. The teacher I employed told me that once one of them is not ready, the other one will follow suit. I even promised to buy them biscuits, just to encourage them. But they didn't change. I had to stop the teacher because they were not ready to learn.
Should I take them to the private lessons I am taking or should I take them to a lesson where people are much ? on a second thought, the parents of the children I am taking for home lessons may not accept, because they prefer private lesson teacher to enable you concentrate on their kids. These twins are like 5-6 years old. They are orphans. They live in a one room in my street at Ikpoba Hill Benin. What is the best thing to do?

Family / Why Worry? There Is Hope For You! by Billionsclub: 8:53am On Sep 05, 2020
We all have something to worry about. It might be in the area of our finances, health, children, threat among others. The good news is that you can CHOOSE to worry or not. Worrying is a choice. The funny thing about worrying is that worrying does not add to the "worrier". Worrying often gives a small thing a big shadow. Worrying weakens body. The truth is I have never seen a problem that worry was able to solve. So many people worry all through their lives. They never live a week without worrying. Some people even worry so much about what others think of them. They can't stand people talking against them. The truth is that when you focus more about what people are saying about you,you forget what God has said about you. Never forget that " before any problem arises, God already provided the solution. No problem comes without its solution. Solution always arrive before a problem but we are too worried to see it.
(1 Peter 5:7 KJV) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Worry does not give a solution. There is a difference between concern and worry. Worrying is not an act until it is a mindset. Worrying cannot convince God to do something for you because He doesn't need your worry as He needs your faith. Nothing you are facing now is bigger than God and nothing you are facing now is a surprise to God.
God already provided the solution before the problem came. You better believe this! This is the absolute truth. What you are facing is not bigger than you.(1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV) There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.. Stop worrying, start believing. What you are going through is not your destination, it is only a passage to your destiny. Never forget, "every great man always face a Goliath. No challenge is bigger than you. It is only in your mind that you are looking down on yourself. Talk to God about that situation. In Luke 18:1 Jesus said, "men ought always to pray and not to faint.

I am a private school teacher but since the lockdown, I had to start doing home lessons for people just to make ends meet. I have two kids in my street, they are orphans. They are twins. They live with their grandmother who lives in a room apartment. These children have never been taught since the lockdown. I am praying for them seriously that God would raise helpers for them. But my mind has been disturbing to employ a home lesson teacher for them. I would have thought them personally but I can't because I move from home lesson to home lesson. I get home almost 7pm. I am thinking about employing a home lesson teacher for them this week. But I am scared that I may not have enough funds to take care of myself. The thought of these kids have refused to leave my mind. please what should I do?
pardon my typographical errors.

Says, Buhari blackmailed, ill-advised into accepting meeting proposal
By Omeiza Ajayi – Abuja
The Sen. Abiola Ajimobi-led National Working Committee NWC of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC has announced a boycott of Thursday’s meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee NEC, describing it as illegal.
The NWC members stated this on Wednesday night after a meeting at the national secretariat of the party.
They said President Muhammadu Buhari must have been ill-advised or blackmailed into accepting the proposal for the meeting.
The statement was signed by the National Vice Chairman, South South, Hilliard Eta who is standing in for Sen. Ajimobi. The second signatory was the acting National Secretary of the party, Arc. Waziri Bulama.

The statement reads; “We wish to unequivocally state that members of the National Working Committee NWC believe that the President was offered wrong advice or blackmailed into lending his weighty office to the illegality of the National Executive Committee meeting purportedly convened by one Victor Giadom on 25th June, 2020.
“We hereby respectfully implore Mr. President to kindly avail himself with facts of the matter regarding the impasse presently experienced by the Party so as to guide him in his assessment of the matter because we are sure that the President if properly advised, would come to the conclusion that the meeting convened by Chief Victor Giadom bothers on illegality and criminality.
“The National Working Committee NWC regrets to turn down the invitation to the illegal and unconstitutional National Executive Committee NEC convened by Chief Victor Giadom.
“We believe that attending such a meeting will amount to embracing illegalities and turning a blind eye to the infractions on the Constitution of our great Party”.

APC Crisis: It’s now easier to hold General Elections than hold party NEC meetings ― DG PGF
ON June 21, 2020 10:07 AM / IN Politics /
BY David O Royal
By Omeiza Ajayi
ABUJA: Director-General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum PGF, Salihu Moh. Lukman has lamented that it is now easier to organize a general election in Nigeria than hold a meeting of the All Progressive Congress, APC’s National Executive Committee NEC following the ongoing crisis in the party.
Lukman said this in a personal statement issued Sunday in Abuja, berating Oshiomhole for reneging on his campaign promises to reengineer the party by activating all its organs.
Lukman also chastised the National Working Committee NWC of the party for its inability to convene important party meetings.
The forum DG said he was reacting to a commentary by a certain Peter Oparah calling on the APC Governors to sack him for doing a ‘cheap hatchet’, adding that the task of DG of PGF is separate from the responsibility of being a member of APC.
Stating that no one was using him to fight any cause, Lukman said political debates are now reduced to propaganda partly because Nigerians take leadership for granted and expect that people working with leaders must always demonstrate agreement. “Once that is the case, leaders limit themselves to recruiting sycophants to work with them”, he said.

On Oshiomhole, Lukman said; “Just as an illustration, it will be useful to recall one aspect of his (Oshiomhole’s) vision statement, which commits him; ‘To promote internal party democracy, we will ensure that all organs of the party regularly meet, as stipulated by the party’s Constitution. For instance, article 25 of the APC’s Constitution provides that National Convention of the party shall be held once in two years; National Executive Committee NEC every quarter and National Working Committee NWC once every month’.
“What did we experience since his emergence as National Chairman in June 2018? The party’s NEC, which should have met every three months was unable to meet for about fifteen months between August 2018 and November 2019. In between, the positions of Deputy National Chairman (South) and National Secretary, among others, became vacant. To fill those vacancies, a minimum of zonal consensus was required, which should be ratified by NEC. Instead, it was only in March 2020 when the court granted an injunction against Comrade Oshiomhole that the National Working Committee (NWC) announced “appointments” into these vacant positions. This led to more disagreements based on the question of whether the NWC has powers to make those appointments or not.
“We need to recognise and appreciate that, in APC, sycophancy has weakened the capacity of our leaders to convene meetings of organs. It is easier to hold general elections in Nigeria today than for APC to hold NEC meetings. APC National Conventions would appear to only take place when the tenure of leaders expires after four years, notwithstanding the fact that APC constitution also makes provision for mid-term convention after two years. We are supposed to have Board of Trustees and seven years after the emergence of APC, it is yet to be inaugurated. In truth, one can argue that part of the functions of APC leaders, especially members of NWC is to undermine the APC constitution and be able to mobilise APC members and other Nigerians to defend such actions. Somehow, these issues are being ignored in the whole assessments of problems of the party.
