Every 12 year old in Nigeria know PDP was broke big time and non of the governors dare bring out a kobo to fund the party due to the fear of Buhari. That's where Sheriff came in. And he got on board with promises from the governors even to the extent of funding the convention.

As for how much he spent I don't know. The governors have the answer. If they want PDP back they better refund the man his money.

EKITI State Governor, Ayo Fayose has compared ousted Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff to a new bride who had to be dumped because she was found to be HIV positive.



He made this disclosure on Thursday in Abuja while explaining why he withdrew his support for Sheriff despite initially backing the latter’s emergence as PDP Chairman.

Fayose said: “Without doubt, I did not beg him but I supported his coming. And when you act within ambits of time the information you have at a given time, I am not someone that will say I did not support Sheriff.

“But when you want to marry a woman, on the wedding day they tell you that the woman has HIV, will you still remain in the marriage? I am out of it,”.

Sheriff was removed from the chairmanship position during the PDP’s National Convention on May 21, 2016.

PORT HARCOURT— Clerics in Rivers State have raised alarm, alleging that suspected Fulani herdsmen armed with dangerous weapons have invaded some forests in the state with a view of launching attack on the state.


The clergymen, from different platforms, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and Directorate of Religious Freedom and Church Collaboration of Christian Lawyers Fellowship of Nigeria, alleged that suspected herdsmen with arms had invaded communities in the state.


In a statement, yesterday, Chairman of CAN, Rev. Isaac Anyanasikike, stated that the herdsmen were already intimidating land owners in some rural communities of the state and acquiring land for grazing.
Anyanasikike who read the statement on-behalf of CAN and CLASFON, adding that tension was already rising in communities of the state following the presence of the herdsmen.


The clerics urged residents of the state, especially farmers in the rural communities to be vigilant while on their daily businesses in the forests.
He said: “It has come to our knowledge that Fulani herdsmen or cattle rearers have constituted themselves into an embarrassing nuisance in rural communities in the various local government areas of the state where they graze their cattle with impunity on lands and or farms belonging to the natives and accompanied by their propensity for violence and other horrible forms of criminality whenever they are challenged by the land owners.


“That the Fulani herdsmen are still roaming the forests and farmlands in Rivers State with dangerous weapons and other instruments of violence without the security and law enforcement agents doing anything to check this pervasive use of unauthorised or unlicensed arms thereby leaving the lives of the majority of our rural community dwellers at avoidable risk in unacceptable.”

Former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Admiral Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim (Rtd) has blamed politics for failure of the military to defeat Boko Haram under the leadership of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Ibrahim on Monday in Abuja told journalists during a lecture he delivered at the National Defence College (NDC) on Military Leadership and National Security, that “In our time, there were so many distractions.”

The CDS served from October 2012 to January 16, 2014, and also as Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) from 2010 to 2012.

Ibrahim added that: “Up to the time the Commander in Chief then declared a State of Emergency, you will hear: ‘we are negotiating here and there, please slow down,’ north eastern elders were worried.

“Can you imagine fighting a war and the people you were trying to protect were thinking that soldiers out there on the streets of Maiduguri, were an army of occupation, which brought a lot of political dimension to the issues.

“And when political dimension, combined with several other policy choices, the result was what we saw, when the state of emergency was declared, I thought there was a little celebration, because the political dimension was like giving you a job and tying your hand behind your back.

“Besides the resources to take on such challenges were neither here nor there, to the level one would have expected, we were not prepared for the nature of the insurgency, even our procurement processes were tailored towards or heavier on conventional warfare.”

The caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of hiring the ousted PDP chairman, Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff, for the purpose of destroying the party.

Sheriff was removed as party chairman at the May 21 botched national convention of the party in Port Harcourt, where the caretaker committee was picked to take charge of the party’s affairs.
But Sheriff on Monday stormed the party headquarters and seized the secretariat from the caretaker committee. He has vowed to continue in office as chairman till December 2018.

At a media briefing held at a private residence on Tuesday, spokesman of the caretaker committee, Prince Dayo Adeyeye said the aim of the APC was to scuttle the chances of the PDP in the upcoming governorship election in Edo State.

He said, “The All progressive Congress (APC) has contracted Sheriff and his cohorts to scuttle the chances of the PDP in the Edo governorship elections.

“We have credible intelligence that Sheriff had a meeting on Sunday night with an APC governor from the Northwest where it was agreed that he would be given full security and financial support to exacerbate the crisis in the PDP with the objective of preventing the PDP from presenting a candidate for the Edo governorship elections, or in the very least, to prevent the PDP from offering a serious challenge to APC whose electoral fortunes have continued to nose-dive.

“What we are however very certain about is that Sheriff and his fellow renegades are being used by the enemies of the PDP to destroy our party and to prevent it from reorganizing itself so as to provide a credible opposition and alternative platform for the forthcoming Edo State gubernatorial election and the 2019 general elections.”
