Mr. Rights Blog: NASS BLOCKAGE: GROUP SAYS POLICE IG COMMITTED TREASON AGAINST NIGERIA... http://mrrightsng..com/2014/11/nass-blockage-group-says-police-ig.html?spref=tw

Nigeria Must Change group has described police invasion of the National Assembly as an act of treason by the police and said such cannot be justified under whatever circumstances.

In an electronic statement released on Tuesday, authorized by its convener, Mr. Abdulrazaaq O Hamzat, the group said it shall be embarking on a peaceful protest in Abuja to express its concerns over the treasonable offense committed by the Inspector general of Police Mr. Sulaiman Abba against the speaker of the federal house of representative, hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and other members of the legislative arm of government.

It said, ‘’through this protest, we are going to condemn the barbaric action of the police and drum it into the hear of the police and other security agencies that any attempt to repeat such a misguided invasion shall not be taken lightly by the Nigerian people.’’

The group also added that, As part of its demands in this protest, it shall be giving the federal government 48hours to charge the inspector general of police to court for treason against the state and tender an unreserved apology to the house for the show of shame, failure of which would spark a continuous protest against the president until our demands are meet.

‘’Let it be known that, Legislature is the symbol of democracy in any country, and for the police (agent of the executive) to have the audacity of attacking such an institution under whatever guise is not an acceptable practice that would be tolerated, especially as this is attached to the selfish and personal interest of some individuals and political party.’’ It said. Adding that, an attack on the National Assembly is an attack against Nigeria, as honorable members are the representatives of the Nigerian people.

It also stated that,’’let it be known that, federal lawmakers are not people that can be prevented or attacked by any authority. As any attempt to prevent lawmakers from performing their duty is a call for anarchy and this first invasion shall not be taken in silence.

‘’We know for sure that the action of the police is a treason against the Nigerian state and we would express this through a protest to the police headquarters and the National Assembly.

‘’The date of our protest is yet to be decided, but certainly, we shall communicate with all stakeholders to join us in this protest to save Nigerian democracy.’’ It added.

It concluded that, ‘’Under normal circumstance, there is no way the police can prevent the speaker or other lawmakers from entering their workplace or attack the National Assembly like insurgents attack Nigerian towns in the troubled northeastern states, but since Nigeria under president Goodluck Jonathan had been led into an abnormal situation, such autocratic impunity is taking place, but it must be stopped to prevent further damage to the country’s democracy. NIGERIA MUST CHANGE GROUP WARM UP TO PROTEST AGAINST POLICE INVASION OF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY, SAYS POLICE ACTION IS TREASON AGAINST THE STATE.
Nigeria Must Change shall be embarking on a peaceful protest in Abuja to express its concerns over the treasonable offense committed by the Inspector general of Police against the speaker of the federal house of representative, hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and other members of the legislative arm of government.
Through this protest, we are going to condemn the barbaric action of the police and drum it into the hear of the police and other security agencies that any attempt to repeat such a misguided invasion shall not be taken lightly by the Nigerian people.
As part of our demands in this protest, we shall be giving the government 48hours to charge the inspector general of police to court for treason against the state, failure of which would spark a continuous protest against the president until our demands are meet.
Let it be known that, Legislature is the symbol of democracy in any country, and for the police (agent of the executive) to have the audacity of attacking such an institution under whatever guise is not an acceptable practice that would be tolerated, especially as this is attached to the selfish and personal interest of some individuals and political party.
An attack on the National Assembly is an attack against Nigeria, as honorable members are the representatives of the Nigerian people.
So, let it be known that, federal lawmakers are not people that can be prevented or attacked by any authority. Any attempt to prevent lawmakers from performing their duty is a call for anarchy and this first invasion shall not be taken in silence.
It is also important to note that, under no circumstance should any agency of the executive arm of government interfere or attempt to interfere with the activities of the legislature, as such attempt clearly goes against separation of power as stipulated in the Nigerian constitution.
And for the police to have attempted to prevent honorable members by blindly allow themselves to be used against Nigeria, we shall not allow this pass without redress.
We know for sure that the action of the police is a treason against the Nigerian state and we would express this through a protest to the police headquarters and the National Assembly.
The date of our protest is yet to be decided, but certainly, we shall communicate with all stakeholders to join us in this protest to save Nigerian democracy.
Under a normal circumstance, there is no way the police can prevent the speaker or other lawmakers from entering their workplace or attack the National Assembly like insurgents attack Nigerian towns in the troubled northeastern states, but since Nigeria under president Goodluck Jonathan had been led into an abnormal circumstances, it has been happening.
We shall use this protest to express our stand on the various situation in the country.
On this note, we are calling on all like minded groups to join us, as we protest to condemn the action of the police and collectively demand for charging inspector general of police for treason against the state.
PREPARE TO SAVE NIGERIA

JUMPING FENCE TO ENTER YOUR HOUSE IN TIME OF DANGER IS NOT A CRIME IN ANY COUNTRY, ABI I LIE?
Mr. Rights Blog: NASS BLOCKADE: LAWMAKERS ACTED RIGHT BY CLIMBING FENCE TO SAVE NIGERIA

All over the world, If your house is attacked by criminal intruders, you can do everything to prevent them from succeeding in their unholy mission, including anything and everything within your capacity.

If you have gun, it is allowed to shoot them. If you have knife, it is allowed to cut them. If you have charm, you can juju them and what ever you have, it is acceptable for you to use them until you get help. This is an acceptable practice to defend yourself all over the world and Nigeria is not an exception.

The invaded house in this regard is the National Assembly and the owner of that house are the honorable members representing the good people of Nigeria. Each federal constituency in the country gave one individual a mandate through election to occupy house on their behave.

On Thursday, 7 People Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers in Ekiti state amid tight security, illegally reconvened the Ekiti state house of assembly and claimed to have removed the speaker. The presidency despite the glaring violation recognized the illegal act and even commended the conduct of those misguided members. While the original speaker still remain the legitimate speaker recognized by law, the security agencies under the order of presidency recognized the illegality of the 7 PDP members over the constitutionally recognized speaker, creating a non-existing version like situation.

On the same day, similar situation was averted in Abuja by brave members of the federal house of representatives led by its distinguish Speaker, honorably Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

The Ekiti state honorable helplessly watch the bastardization of Nigerian democracy by allowing criminals benefit from their illegality, while their Abuja counter fought back, putting themselves in danger to save Nigeria’s democracy. They did what must be done to prevent the rape of our constitution. Although, it may not be the best, but it is right and the only available option to save the ugly situation.

BUKOLA SARAKI: AN UNWANTED MENACE IN KWARA STATE -MR.RIGHTS

Distinguish Senator Bukola Saraki,

Sir, permit me to greet you like your loyal supporters do, ‘’Sai leader’’.

Before I proceed sir, let me bring your attention to the unreasonable situation within the Kwara state civil service which not only ridicule Kwara as a state, but shows the ruthless caliber of leaders leading the state.

It was gathered that, when a civil servant in Kwara state gain promotion from level 1 to 2, his or her salary only increases by one hundred naira (N100)? (GL01-N18,499.26- GL02-N18,586.63). After many years of hard work, if he gained another promotion to level 3, another two hundred and fifty naira (N250) (GL02-N18,586.63- GL03- 18,865.43) would be added to his or her salary. And it continues like that to the highest level.

I am very ashamed to uncover this embarrassment. I also learn that, from level 1 to 15, no one single civil servant earn up to N85,000 salary, no matter their years of service or qualification. Level 15 civil servant in Kwara state earn N84,114.66 it was gathered.

Additionally, while on the foremost Kwara youth movement, Kwara Must Change online page, which is also the most populated and active kwara page on the internet,I read that you have endorsed Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed for a second term. I am forced to asked that, is this to reward him for being loyal to your selfish interest or for placing the hard working civil servants on the above shameful salary scale like i have stated above? Although, to all keen follower of the kwara political climate, your decision is not unexpected considering the undiluted loyalty shown to you by the Governor.

However, while you believe you have endorsed a governor for second term in Kwara state, Kwarans do not even see Dr. Ahmed as the governor. Many adjectives had been used to describe his role by the populace. Some say he his merely a chief of staff, while others say he his a senior commissioner. Some even went as far saying, he his not a ’’Maigida’’ (House owner) rather, a ‘’Mai gadi (guard). All these titles was as a result of his blind loyalty to you.

Dear senator, Without any doubt, you seems to have assumed the role of a godfather in the harmonious state of Kwara and in my opinion, this was the desire of your late father (Dr. Olusola Saraki) as designed by him through a version like contest created between himself and you in the 2011 election, paving way for you to take over from him as the Kwara over lord. And with Governor Ahmed as a figure head, you have successfully wielded unprecedented power of a godfather, far beyond what your late dad could ever imagine.

Even when others believe you fought your late father to install the incumbent, Mr.rights doesn’t believe in such a fallacy. I know for sure that it was a game, more like a tactical loss for your father, to gain you a strategic victory. But what ever it is, it is now a story for the gods.
Sir, the question I raised in my LETTER TO GOVERNOR ABDULFATAI AHMED is still valid for you. Is godfather-ism evil or good? I am also asking you since you seems to have become a godfather. Sir, do you think your role (godfather) is good or bad for Kwara? Without hearing your response, I know you would say its good, just as the state government have been saying, ‘’its good here’’. But for the purpose of reference, let me quote the defination of godfatherism as explained in the letter to your godson. ‘’A godfather in the developing or undeveloped nations of the world is seen as “a segment of the political process as well as the figure, standing against the intellectual extrapolations originating in, and also sustained by the media”. (Quoted from Salawu (2009). Further, in the view of Ukhun (2004), strictly, the godfather is simply a self-seeking individual out there to use the government for his purposes. The cost of this incidence is enormous to the state as what usually obtains is that when the incumbent godson is at pains to satisfy the whims and caprices of the godfather among other competing demands on the scare resources of the government, the interest of the larger number is savagely undermined.

From the above, it could be maintained that, a godfather is not necessarily a bad person depending on the personality of that individual. This brings me to the question dear Saraki, what is your personality? Are you ‘’ a segment of the political process as well as the figure, standing against the intellectual extrapolations originating in, and also sustained by the media’’?, A self-seeking individual out there to use the government for his purposes? Or, a person who ‘’ makes available the wherewithal necessary for his proteges to live a fulfilled life? For your information, only your close aides and benefactors see you as a good figures because they derive from your lick-age, the generality of Kwarans home and abroad see you as a self seeking individual stocking the prospective growth of the state of harmony.

Many in the state watch with amusement, how you extort the state through Governor Ahmed, building a close to N4billion worth of mansion with state fund in the name of pension. They are also aware of the over N100million allowances you earn from the state government, apart from being the DE-facto commander in chief, with Governor Ahmed as your foot soldier. While the state continue to wallow in poverty, you continue to amass wealth unreasonably for pursuing a fruitless journey to be relevant at the national level. The state government continue to cry of low income, yet, you continue to consume the larger percent of the low income of the state. In my view, this is not the way great leaders are made, neither is it a way to be a good godfather. Yes,you may be regarded as Sai leader, but to be honest, you are a bad leader.

PoliticsApc Presidential Primary: Buhari’s Chance Is Slim? by bilms(op): 10:15am On Nov 18, 2014
APC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY: BUHARI’S CHANCE IS SLIM?
http://mrrightsng..com/2014/11/apc-presidential-primary-buharis-chance.html
APC PRIMARY ELECTION: BUHARI’S CHANCE IS SLIM?

The All Progressive Congress (APC) primary election is around the corner and all aspirants are gearing up towards the exercise. Six (6) aspirants had express their intent of participating in the November 29th exercise and the nation watching with patience.
The six (6) aspirants that are participating in the presidential primary election include, former military head of state, incorruptible general and 3 time contestant, general Muhammadu Buhari, former vice president, issue based politician, self acclaimed highest employer of labor in Nigeria and two (2) time contestant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Speaker of the federal house of representative, the young, intelligent and nationally acceptable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the inspirational Governor of Imo state, Philanthropy and people oriented governor, Chief Rochas Owelle Okorocha, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the executive and performing governor of Kano state and the Chairman of leadership newspaper, Chief Nda-Isaiah.

Few days ago, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar stated that, it is too late for Apc to resort to consensus candidacy, he maintained that delegate primary election is the best for the party.

According to the former vice president,’’it is too late for the Apc to think of holding a consensus forum for its presidential aspirants but rather, it should conduct a delegate conference where we will fight it out. He stated that, it is one of the tenets of best practice in democracy for candidates to be allowed to test their popularity.
What many people do not know is that, primary election is quit different from the general election. While general Buhari seems to be the most popular Apc presidential aspirant, his history tells us that, he his the least candidate that is unlikely to emerge in a primary election due to his lack of experience.
No wonder his supporters are the champion of consensus candidacy, hoping that through the consensus arrangement, other aspirants may step down for him to fly the party’s banner unchallenged.

It would be recalled that, at the declaration of generation Buhari, he still insisted on the consensus arrangement even though other aspirants feel otherwise. According to general Buhari at his declaration,he restated his belief in the efficacy of adopting a consensus arrangement to decide which aspirant should fly the APC flag at the presidential poll. However, the truth remains that, if other candidates didn’t step down for Buhari, hardly would he emerge winner in the primary election.
Atiku Abubakar know this very much and he his using it to his advantage.
While Buhari supporters are pushing for consensus candidacy, Atiku and other aspirants are insisting on holding a primary election and they got their way so far.

It should be noted that, out of all the aspirants jostling for the APC ticket, general Muhammadu Buhari is the only candidate that has never won any election, both primary and general election.
In 2003, when Buhari got ANPP ticket for the presidencial election, he got it on consensus arrangement and in 2007, it was still on consensus. But in 2011, when current Minister of education and former Kano state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau challenged Buhari to the ANPP ticket, where he insisted on contesting the primary election with the retired general, Instead of participating in primary election with Shekarau, Buhari left the party to form the Congress of Progressive Change (CPC) where he got the ticket unchallenged.

This shows that, while Buhari knows he has some supporters in the public ready to die for him, he knew well that he doesn’t have the cordial relationship with party members that could earn him the ticket if primary election should be conducted.

As we all saw in 2011, Buhari had 12 million votes and Shekarau had less than a million. But if Buhari had contested a primary election with Shekarau, it is very unlikely that he (Buhari) would emerge. This goes to show us that, primary election doesn’t need million delegates, it only need few thousands and the aspirants must earn their vote through all sort of ways.
Now, let’s talk about the chances of each aspirants in the primary election.
1. From all indications, Atiku Abubakar stand a greater chance of winning the Apc ticket due to his experience. Atiku had won Vice presidential seat with his former boss Obasanjo, he has won governorship election in Yola and he has also won primary elections on few occasions. With his experience and resources, he stand a greater chance to emerge in apc primary election.

Since the date of the primary election was fixed, we have seen how the former vice president had been moving from one state to the other. From meeting the Lagos stake holders to going from one state to the other, Atiku is indeed ready to slug it out. This goes to show that, Atiku Abubakar indeed understand that, personally gaining the trust of the delegates is a key to winning any primary election. He also knows that, most party delegates are mostly comfortable with aspirants they can assess, interact with and reach when they need to. By meeting stakeholders in each states, Atiku is simply making himself available to these important party to primary election and this puts him a good position.

It is also not a hidden fact that Atiku remains the only issue based politician in Nigeria today. He his the only presidential aspirant that has come forward with his understanding of the challenges facing our dear nation and proffering his own solution to the challenges. Other aspirants both in the ruling PDP and APC are yet to tell Nigerians what they have to offer and how they intend to solve the nations challenges.

2. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is another candidate that may likely emerge in the primary election. First, Tambuwal against his former party, PDP emerge speaker of the federal house of representative in 2011. He defied every known reason and calculation. The nation was surprise and still surprised till date on how he did it. Considering his popularity within his colleague at the federal house of representatives that warrant them to push him out to contest the presidential election, all the members who had been the backbone of the speaker are likely to work for him in their respective states to convince the delegates to support the emergence of Tambuwal in Apc primary election. Although, Tambuwal had never contested beyond the house of representative election, he has indeed spread his name and image across the nation through his people oriented stance on most national issues at the house of representative. Nigerians all knew where he stood during the 2012 fuel subsidy saga. Had the senate president took the same people oriented reasoning, the nation would have been saved from that unnecessary jeopardy. Also, Tambuwal is nationalistic in reasoning, more like the Obama of America, who as a senator, stood for what he believe is best for the nation. Tambuwal had consistently stood on the side of the Nigerian people and if given chance to lead the nation, certainly, he shall be the light needed to bridge the north/south divide and move Nigeria forward.

3. Musa Kwankwaso is another strong aspirant that stand a chance of winning the Apc primary election. The performing Kano state governor is a second term governor who had to learn from the mistake he made in 2003 before coming back to win Kano state governorship in 2011 for the second term. However, since emerging governor in 2011, kano state has not remain the same in terms of developmental stride, educational upliftment, citizens welfarism and general life improvement. The impact of the kwankwasiya movement is sweeping kano state and effect is being felt other parts of the nation. Kwankwaso had also won election to the house of representative where he served as the deputy speaker, he his one of the G5 governors that defected from the peoples democratic party (PDP). It is also believed that, some of his governor colleagues are strongly in support of Kwankwaso to emerge and are ready to work for his emergence. With his experience in previous primaries and elective positions he held, he his a candidate to watch out for in the APC primary election.

4. The inspirational Rochas Okorocha is a dynamic leader, whose leadership of Imo state can be described as one of a kind. Okorocha who won the Imo governorship election under APGA had to defect to Apc for the good of the nation despite the fact that his former party, apga refused to be part of the apc merger. The one, whose citizens take pride in calling my governor my governor is not just a performing governor who provided free education from primary, secondary to tertiary institution, but rather, he his an inspirational figure whose motivational acts and words propel citizens across the nation to act right in their daily en-devour. Okorocha don’t just perform well, he guide every other citizens to perform well as well. Without any doubt, these 4 candidates have better chance of emerging in APC primary election than general Muhammadu Buhari due to their experience.

5. General Muhammadu Buhari is the incorruptible leader who had occupy various positions. He was a former military head of state, former governor, former chairman of an important sector and many other positions, but despite his numerous positions, he has managed to be free from any corrupt practices. Although, he has never held any elective position in the past, but he remains the most popular candidate among the populace. His inexperience in primary election place him least on potential winner of the Apc primary election. While many believe he stand a chance to emerge winner in a general election, many others believe he his the easiest to defeat considering how the ruling party is known to use religious and ethnic tag to discredit him.

6. Chief Nda-Isaiah cannot be ignored in any gathering of important personnel. Although, I cannot say how far this candidate can go due to my limited understanding of his political strength, but one thing is certain, his integrity cannot be put to question. Also, his contribution to the nation through his business cannot be undermined, so we wait to see how much he can pull together in the upcoming primary election.

CONFUSION AS FIGHTER JETS CONTINUE TO CRASH
In the last few months, several military choppers belonging to the Nigerian Air Force has reportedly been crashing without any proper explanation from the military authority. More worrisome is the fact that, these crashes never stops, they continue to happen on a daily basis. In all of these crashes, valuable human lives being lost. Skilled and valuable military workers like pilots, who are very short in supply continue to loss their lives and we are yet to be concerned about this growing trend of crashes, neither have we sort to prevent such from re-occurring.
Less than 3 days after a military helicopter on surveillance mission crashed in Damare, a suburb of Girei Local Govt Area of Adamawa, another chopper believed to belong to the Nigerian Air force has gone down around the same area again.
On Thursday, a military helicopter reportedly crashed and exploded on Thursday night killing all three crew on board, in an area where there were no reports of combat or Boko Haram activities.
On Friday, three servicemen were killed in a military helicopter crash in the restive northeast. The military said the aircraft involved was a ground attack helicopter on an armed patrol.
Four days ago, the military also reported a helicopter safely crash-landed minutes after take off from Yola International Airport in Adamawa state.
Last month, a fighter jet reportedly crashed. Bokoharam claimed it shot it down, but such claim cannot be substantiated. Although, the group published video showing the beheading of a man friends identified as a Nigerian Air Force pilot. The military said a jet went missing Sept 11 with two crew. Last week, local fishermen claimed they found wreckage of the jet in the River Benue.
Similarly, a Nigerian Air force Alpha jet deployed to operate in Mali few months ago crashed in Niger Republic, resulting in the death of the two pilots. A report from DHQ source said it had suffered a mechanical problem.
In 2012, a military fighter jet crashed in Kaduna not far from its base situated in Mando, Also, on march 22, 2011, Chinese made F7 fighter jet crashed near Kano airport. The pilot died in the crash and no other details was provided.

As military chopeprs continue to crash, the confidence of pilots to land safely will be in doubt and that will go along way in affecting the outcome of their engagements.

We must ask, are these jets or helicopters in good working conditions?
If not, why allow them be used knowing they are unreliable and unsafe for the pilots?
If they are in good working condition, why are they crashing in such a re-occurring manner?
Are the pilots competent enough to handle them?
What are the authorities doing to prevent future re-occurrences?

Please, lets hear your view on this issue.

GENERAL BUHARI MUST LEARN HONOUR FROM GBENGA OLAWEPO BY MR.RIGHTS
http://mrrightsng..com/2014/11/general-buhari-must-learn-honour-from.html

Nigeria is a blessed nation, the country is blessed with abundant natural resources, fertile soil, good weather and most importantly, respectable human resources. Without self praising this unique nation, I make bold to say that Nigeria has the best and most intelligent people in the world. We are good people from a great nation.
In todays Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari is no doubt a house hold name, he his one of the good people in our beloved country. He his a father, a leader, a model and someone who is looked upon by many as a source of reference. He belong to the founding generation.
On the other hand, Nigeria is also home to the world travelled Comrade Gbenga Olawepo, a symbol of worthy ideal for the younger generation.
While General Buhari hold the title of an incorruptible leader, Gbenga Olawepo hold the record of human rights and anti-dictatorship leader. Both are worthy symbol.
These two (2) leaders share many things in common, but for this short write up, let me limit it to their political contribution to the nation.

In the quest of General Buhari to reverse the negative and downward trend in governance in our dear nation, he contested the presidency of Nigeria on 3 different occasions under 2 different political platforms. First, he contested in 2003 under All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and he re-contested to the same position in 2007 under the same platform. Then in 2011, he contested under the Congress of Progressive Change (CPC). In all 3 occasions, General Buhari lost the elections based on the declared result by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
Just like General Buhari, Gbenga Olawepo who couldn’t watch his dear Kwara state continue on the path of regression stepped forward in 2007 to liberate the state from the bondage of political ignorance, unemployment and leadership misdirection. He contested on two occasions for the position of Kwara state governor under the same platform. First, he contested in 2007 under the platform of Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) and re-contested in 2011 under the same platform. He like Buhari also lost the elections on both occasions.
Here, we could see that, despite being the best available candidate with sound ideas and ideal personality with impeccable record of integrity, Olawepo also didn’t emerge victorious.
As a result of the 2011 election results which went contrary to expectations of both men, both Gbenga Olawepo and General Buhari announced their sabbatical leave from partisan politics.
Buhari declared before the public that the 2011 election would be the last he would ever contest in the country, while Olawepo also told close associates and supporters that the 2011 election would be his last shot at the Kwara governorship seat.
Few years later, as the 2015 election approaches, friends, fans and supporters have been approaching the two men to reconsider their earlier stance by re-contesting election in 2015 after they pledge to step aside. But there are many good people in Nigeria that could get the job done.
So far, Gbenga Olawepo had kept his words by maintaining the sacredness of his words, but General Buhari seems to have decided to set aside his much valuable words of honour.
It is worth to note that, a man is as good as his words. Therefore, we must be accountable to our own words, this is where honour resides.

As the 2015 election approach, many have urged Gbenga Olawepo to reverse his earlier announcement of quitting partisan politics. They have been asking him to also step into the race as a worthy leader, but Olawepo maintained that, there are good men and women all over the state who could get the job done, and having tried on 2 occasions without success, it is only natural to give space for others.
In a short message posted on his facebook page on April 10, 2014, Gbenga Olawepo wrote:
Dear friends, fans, followers and supporters, as political storm gathers momentum in Nigeria, quite a number of folks have sent goodwill messages to me hoping that somehow, I will recant on my withdrawal from partisan politics and make some interventions in the process leading to 2015. It will be unkind to remain silent in the face of flurry of enquiries and sincere wishes of admirers and friends.
Olawepo stated that, ‘’as much as it is important to stress unequivocally that when I decided to quit partisan politics, it was not a fluke. I have in the past few years been primarily focused on giving my family and business undivided attention, quite a number of my followers already know that I am not a professional politician. Even when I took up roles in political parties, I have neither been paid salaries nor helped at any time by public purse.
He explained that, despite quitting partisan politics, he shall not keep silent when there is need to contribute to issues.
In his words, ’Notwithstanding that I am not in partisan politics, I shall not be neutral on fundamental issues that will define the survival of our great country as we match to 2015 and beyond. By the grace of God, I will not prevaricate on matters of national unity, indissolubility and indivisibility of the federal republic of Nigeria and the secularity of the Nigerian state. I shall continue to stand firmly on values that shaped my engagement since my first entry into the political centre stag twenty eight years ago as an anti apartheid activist, student leader, human right activist, business man and politician. These values are ever green-freedom, democracy, tolerance, patriotism, economic inclusiveness, excellence and integrity in public service.
Olawepo didn’t stop there, he further stated that, there are many ways to contribute to the nations growth beyond seeking elective office. According to him, ‘’Even in business that we do today in the energy sectors of Nigeria, Africa and the emerging economies, our motivation has not solely being to make profit, we are investing in key infrastructures that will create millions of jobs in pursuit of our belief that only through gainful employment can poverty be eliminated on a sustainable basis.
He concluded his message by assuring everyone that though, he his absent from partisan politics, but he remain a firm believer in the promise of Nigeria’s manifest destiny to be a great nation where people of diverse language, cultures and believe will live in liberty, prosperity, unity, peace and security.
He wrote that, ‘’I have unshakable faith in the word of God for me and Nigeria and I can declare it boldly that Nigeria IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, THE SUN SHALL RISE.
Here, Olawepo maintained the honour of his words as earlier stated. He knew the power of words and uphold its sanctity. He his a man who honour his words.
General Buhari on the other hand has decided to make U-turn. Against his declaration in 2011, he has declared once again, to contest the presidential election for the 4th time in 2015. This is a concern for me as someone who once campaigned for general Buhari.
As someone whose words was said to be worth of being taken to the bank, it was expected that Buhari would preserve his honour by fulfilling his public declaration of not contesting again, he should have stick to his words and give his support to others who have step forward to take over from where he stopped, but he didn’t, rather, he went against himself portraying a man whose word shouldn’t be taken for it.
General Buhari should have learn from the honourable path tolled by Gbenga Olawepo, this is a way to honour. A mission cannot be worthy if there is no honour, and the greatest act of honour a man can practice is to keep his own words. Gbenga has shown that honour, let other learn from this worthy practice. IS JONATHAN CAPABLE TO LEAD NIGERIA? (Question for Mr. President)

With the numerous crisis rocking our dear nation, I can’t help but ask, Is president Goodluck Jonathan capable of leading Nigeria?

Few days ago, the second largest town in a very strategic Nigerian state (Adamawa) was captured by Bokoharam terrorists, yet there is no measure to reverse the trend by govt.

Based on information from the troubled areas, If quick intervention plan is not executed immediately, the home of the Chief of Army staff is likely to be captured by the insurgent, that will be greater disaster for the nation.

The president is unconcerned that well trained Nigerian soldiers who are worldly acclaimed to be competent are suddenly running away from combat under the watch of the commander in chief of the armed forces, where soldiers are said to be competing with civilians on how to escape to secure places, and still, president Jonathan is less concerned.

Thousands of IDP’s are currently in bushes and mountains running for their dear lives to an unknown destination, yet we watch helplessly.

Those in humanitarian camps had constituted what can be described as humanitarian disaster, yet the govt faint ignorance of the situation.
Boko haram is now comfortably ruling some Nigerian towns under their own law, violating the fundamental human rights of Nigerians, cutting hands and committing all sort of atrocities against Nigerian citizens. They are also bent on matching forward to capture more towns including state capitals yet the president sit idle.

We must ask, Is it until Boko haram capture the Abuja police headquarters before the president understand the gravity of the situation? Is it until they capture the entire Abuja city before we act?
So far, they have captured a whole army barrack in Mubi which contain military hardware that is capable of giving the sect more strength, yet we are still playing politics. May God help us.
I am forced to ask again, Is Jonathan capable to lead Nigeria?

While all this atrocities are ongoing, the president whose primary responsibility is to protect Nigerian citizens is busy picking nomination form to seek re-election. He his busy acting with impunity against Aminu Tambuwal who simply exercise his constitutional rights of freedom of movement and association by joining another political party.
The president disregard the law, by ordering the withdrawal of the security details of the speaker of the federal house of representative.

I ask again, Is GEJ capable to lead Nigeria?

When will this Otuoke man realize that no place will be safe in Nigeria if this ugly trend should continue? When will this Man who said he had no shoes understand that his actions and in actions constitute more danger to the nation than even the bokoharam insurgent?
When will this impunity stop? When will Boko Haram be stopped? When will GEJ end this atrocities against Nigerian citizens? And when will this man realize that this crisis if not stopped now will also consume him and the nation as a whole?

I ask again, Is GEJ capable to lead Nigeria?
The opposition party on the other hand also faint ignorance to their duty as Nigerian citizens. They hardly suggest ways to move the nation forward, rather, they are mainly focused on how to capture power. If the nation is in crisis, how can we be talking about power?
We must all set aside our political affiliations, ethnic considerations and religious loyalty to unite against the danger facing our collective existence as a nation.

WE MUST END BOKOHARAM NOW. Mr.rights
