WHY I AM ANTI-JONATHAN Essien Attah Wrote: A good friend called me up today and said he doesn't understand my Anti-Jonathan stance, that don't I know he is a Christian and from the South South thus we must learn to support our own no matter what. My reply, When your child is sick do you take him to a Christian Doctor from the South South or you ask for the best doctor around? Would you prefer for your child to be treated by a Christian, South South Quack or advocate for the best doctor around to treat your child? Hence if one wants the best care for one's child doesn't Nigeria deserve the best leaders votes can attain? Should I be happy that when GEJ came to power $1 was N156,but today it is N188 and still sliding? Should I rejoice each day I read in the papers that Boko Haram has killed Nigerians without respite despite having a Military that is far superior to the insurgents? Should I be happy that a litre of petrol was N65 b4 GEJ came and is now N97 and about to be increased further despite falling crude oil prices? Should I rejoice each time Mama Peace and co jet out to Europe for healthcare while our hospitals are paralysed by incessant strikes, brain drain and a dearth of equipment? And despite having a South South man at the the helm, gas flaring and environmental degradation continues with communities weaping and suffering in silence. GEJ assumed power to solve Nigerians problems not make them worse. He promised to provide jobs for the youth, not drag them to a fictitious job interview to be killed via a stampede. How can one be happy with such a leader? Only a sadist can possibly be happy at that. GEJ is not the best leader Nigeria can produce, neither is he a man who can restore peace and prosperity to Nigeria. So why should I follow him blindly into the abyss when it is visible to all that his leadership has brought more harm than good to our dear country? |

Honestly Rabiu Kwankwaso has just shown his midas touch in the act of political governance. The transparency and openness are commendable departure from secrecy often associated with our leadership. This altitude of I do not have anything to hide, it is our goverment, see how we are running things, earns Kwankwaso the right to be consider for the Nation's plum job" Jolly Iguodala This is Kano, not Dubai, an attestation of R. M Kwankwaso (PHD) lofty engineering ideas and frugal/responsible leadership qualities This impeccable 2KM+ legacy is one of the 3 fly over bridges initiated, awarded and constructed by RMK, Unlike 2nd Niger bridge that was only built as a campaign promise, there was no deceitful fanfare groundbreaking ceremony, no kobo was borrowed from any bank on earth and moon for its financing. No SEC backed bond was subscribed for in its funding and no private-public partnership arrangement with provision for toll collection. It was built and funded solely from Kano state treasury for the people to enjoy for free Guess what. Kano state 2014 budget is N219billion, which represent 43.9% of Akwa Ibom N499billion budget. Delta state 2014 budget is in the region of N380+ billion yet both Akwa Ibom and Delta are more exposed to toxic debts than Kano owing to fiscal prudence of the latter leadership. As a matter of fact, Kwankwaso has never borrowed but paying off his predecessor domestic and external debt commitment he inherited in 2011. Just to satisfy your curiosity on the project cost, this beautiful KM+ fly over bridge was built at N10billion. That's 8.8% of an over padded proposed 1.8km 2nd Niger Bridge that will cost tax payers a whooping N117billion A Kwankwaso presidency will not only replicate but accelerate similar 3 fly over bridges across the 36states in his first tenure (2015-19). While his second tenure will consolidate and witness a phase of construction of tunnels and expansion of high speed rails 2015 presidency is not 'it is our turn' trophy, it is not also about the Mettusaleh and sloganeering. It is about quality service. RMK has shown the capacity and ability to deliver the much desired quality services That's the summary Jolly posited above...Continue http://mrrightsng..com/2014/12/this-is-kano-not-dubai.html

5 PEOPLE ILLEGALLY ARRESTED BY POLICE IN ILORIN ARE MISSING FROM THEIR RECORDS Kazeem Olatunde popularly known as KC is a popular caterer who specializes in small chops and other related snacks in Ilorin, Kwara state. He provide this services at occasions such as wedding party, birthday party and others, especially during night parties. But due to the nature of his job, some times, he and his workers had to go out at night to ensure they meet up with clients demand. Yesterday (5/12/2014), KC told a lot of people about his job at Bovina view hotel, to provide small chops at a wedding batch eve. At about 10pm as usual, many saw him and his team preparing chops outside his residence at Oko-erin area. The problem began when at exactly 1: 04 am, a text message from KC's phone number came in and it reads ''Police arrested us illegally, we are at the 'A' division police station since 1:00am'' As he was called back for details, he said the police arrested them on their way to Bovina Hotel to deliver the small chops to the Batcheve party. Him along with his workers are held in the station he said. However, this morning since i am opportune to be in Ilorin, at about 8: 30 a.m this morning, I personally went to the "A" division police station to ask why they were arrested despite all evidence of their job engagement and explore possibility of their release, but i was surprise to get to the station and couldn't find their names on the police record. We checked the list of those arrested yesterday, but their name wasn't there. We also went to the Sars office inside the division and it wasn't there also. Wondering what might be the case, the officer in charge said there is nothing we can do if there names isn't on the list, probably they were not at the station. But as far as the text message evidence shows, they were held at the "A" division police station. Many tried their contact numbers severally and it was all switched off. As an alternative measure, we went to his house to confirm if they had been released, but no, they were not at home. His neighbor who spoke with us said they left home yesterday night to deliver a job at Bovina Hotel and they haven't returned home since then. He, like myself tried their number severally and it wasn't going through. He made me understand that, 5 of them went for the job. 4 male, 1 female. but none of their numbers were going through. Here, we know they are not at home, and the 'A" division police command is claiming that they are not there. I therefore call on the police authority to as a matter of urgency, make an official inquiry into the matter. If you have any helpful info, kindly reach out to Mr.rights on 08076976917. Thanks |
IG Wala wrote 1 hr · Abuja · Edited · ATTENTION: NIGERIAN AUTHORITY, GOMBE STATE GOVERNMENT, NIGERIAN ARMY, ETC. The entire youths in Bajoga town (where Boko Haram attacked 2 days) have all deserted their homes. I received multiple calls between 1.00am to 2.30am and inbox messages alerting that Soldiers will be coming into Bajoga for a reprisal attack mainly on the youths. This is as a result of the attack carried on the Military by Boko Haram some 2days ago. According to the sources, the Nigerian Soldiers were aggrieved and angry with the youths, claiming that the youths in Bajoga may be aware of the attack and failed to report to the soldiers. The source also confirm that the Military did similar operation in Potiskum somedays ago, where they gathered over 70 innocent young people and killed all simply because they did not inform the police and they did not run away when the BH attacked the town. Can those of us in Potiskum and here present confirm this allegations pls! ON THIS NOTE, WE ARE CALLING ON THE NIGERIAN AUTHORITY PARTICULARLY, THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF GOMBE STATE TO KINDKY INTERFERE AND AVERT SUCH INTENDING MASSACRE OF INNOCENT CIVILIANS BY THE MILITARY. IF CONFIRMED TO BE TRUE, THIS IS AN ACT SIMILAR TO THAT OF BOKO HARAM COMING FROM THE MILITARY. (Kindly broadcast this message to help save life) ((((RESPONSE FROM NIGERIA ARMY ))) BH propaganda. Military does not operate this way. This must have emanated from BH themselves or their collaborators We are thorough and professionals who swore to protect the people and the Constitution. Let me tell u most of these distractions badly affects the morale of troops and the fight against insurgency. Don't believe them; they know these terrorists. They live with them.. |

So i want to ask, what does this mean exactly? To me, its more like saying, we can steal all we want, its not corruption. If that is the case, so what is corruption? Your view pls. |
Agenda For Peace: Before The Perceived Islamic Terror (Part 1), By Abdulrazaq Hamzat Category: Feature Columns Hits: 170 December 2, 2014, 8:02 am Written by Abdulrazaq Hamzat We have refused to ask ourselves, why would an individual blow himself up in the process of trying to blow others he despises? Why have some people chosen death over life? Why have they decided to exclude themselves from the rest of the world and resort to isolation? Why did human life had little or no meaning to them that they destroy it at will? Until we ask these questions sincerely, it would be almost impossible to understand the motivation behind the activities of terrorist organizations which is increasingly threatening human existence. Before the advent of current perceived Islamic terrorism which has assume a frightening dimension, there exist countless terrorist organizations across the world causing havoc and destroying lives and properties. But despite the increasing lost of human lives and properties, world leaders have refused to sincerely look into the root cause of terrorism as measure to halt its growth, rather, they concentrate on utilizing it for their selfish political benefits. From my observation, no sincere effort is aimed at ending world terrorism; rather, all effort is geared towards making political benefits. Terrorism is often perceived through a narrow lens without ever truly examining who is the terrorist, where the terrorist come from, the background, and why the terrorist committed the act, but understanding the mindset of the terrorist is vital in understanding terrorism. (Sharkdam Wapmuk, 2012) Research also establishes that, there are common traits found in the individuals who commit these types of violent acts. One is that the terrorist feels inferior to his larger enemy, but morally superior. He feels as if he has been wronged and terrorism is a means through which he can retaliate. The act of terrorism is the result of this distaste for the larger enemy. Through terrorist acts, the terrorist believes that they can gain power through the use of fear. Second is that terror gives a feeling of power to the powerless. There is no real way to understand and predict human behavior. A terrorist act is even harder to understand. That is why the definition of terrorism is constantly in a state of change. It evolves based on the new political situations and the way that states and political entities process and respond to these events. For the terrorist, there is usually an ongoing personal struggle. This may include events of embarrassment, repression, or harassment. Third, the terrorist is expected to have extreme views and beliefs. His or her beliefs are more extreme than others in his or her situation. Fourth, for the terrorist, there is very little room for flexibility. Events and decisions are seen in terms of black and white. There is a need for responsibility, blame and retaliation. Lastly, a terrorist usually holds a capacity to suppress all moral constraints against harming innocents whether due to instinct or acquired factors, individuals, or group forces. Beliefs of morality are discarded in order to achieve the act of violence. Many terrorists may have experienced violence growing up. They often come from marginalized communities, where they feel neglected. Often these areas experience violence, death and destruction as a part of everyday life. They know from firsthand experience that violence hurts those involved. Terrorists believe that if they use violence against their mighty enemy, it will hurt them as well. Acts of terror allow individuals, who feel wronged to feel powerful through the use of fear. The phenomenon of terrorism dates back to thousand years on the global setting. While some have traced the history of terrorism to the Roman Empire, others trace it to zealot fighters during the First Century AD. Research shows that, the Roman emperors had used diverse forms of terrorism to control domestic dissent and eliminated suspected enemies. Various methods were used including the use of poisoning, crucifixion and mass public executions. The act of terrorism was also perpetrated by a radical offshoot of Zealots, a Jewish sect that was active in Judea during the 1st Century AD. The zealots who were opposed to the Roman Empire’s rule engaged in a campaign primarily involving assassination. The Zealot fighters who were also fearless had used the sica- a primitive dagger to attack their enemies in broad daylight. The assassinations were often carried out in crowded market places, on feast days, and at other public gatherings where the people present can witness the violence so as to send a strong message to the Romans and other Jews who may sympathize with the Romans. An Islamic movement known as the Assassins had used similar tactics in their struggle against the Christian Crusaders between 1090 and 1272. Just as the Zealots viewed the Romans as invaders, the Assassins had also viewed the Crusaders as invaders in parts of Syria. The Assassins sacrificed everything to eliminate the Crusaders including suicidal martyrdom which is still evident in some terrorist groups today. They regarded violence as a sacramental or divine act that ensured its perpetrators would ascend to a glorious heaven should they perish during the task. Before the French Revolution of 1789-1799, religion was used to justify the use of terrorism; however this was to change when nationalism, anarchism, Marxism and other secular political movements emerged during the 1800s to challenge Divine Rights of Kings. What is regarded as modern terrorism began as a movement against monarchical rule by those regarded as rebels and constitutionalists during the late stages of the French Revolution and in Russia by the People’s will also known as Narodnaya Volya organization which was active between 1878 and 1881. The People’s Will revolution and anti-government orientation became the model for future terrorists. The group selected targets that represented the State’s oppressive instruments of power, and used propaganda to educate the public about the inequities imposed on them by the state and to rally their support for revolution. Several targets were assassinated by the terrorist including the Governor General of Saint Petersburg, the Head of the Tsarist Secret Police, and the Tsar Alexander II, who was killed in March 1881. The terrorists became more emboldened following the assassination of Alexander II. This led the group to inspire another group of political radicals who met in London in July 1881, to discuss how to achieve a revolution that was worldwide. Their idea was to coordinate and support a global terrorist campaign that would overthrow both monarchies and elected governments of democratic states. Between 1881 and the first decade of the 20th century, anarchists succeeded in assassinating President William McKinley of America; the President of France and Spain’s Prime Minister; Empress Elisabeth of Austria and King Humbert I (Umberto I) of Italy. The terrorists also succeeded in organizing several revolts in Chicago, Bosnia, and Serbia. While early terrorism was more associated with the violence of non-state groups like the anarchists, in 1920s and 1930s, terrorism became associated more with the repressive practices employed by dictatorial regimes such as the Nazi, fascist, and totalitarian regimes that came to power in Germany, Italy, and the Soviet Union. These regimes employed various forms of repressions against their citizens including torture, beatings, unlawful detentions, death squads, and other forms of intimidation. Acts characterized as terrorist in nature can occur both in conflict and peace-time. They may constitute crimes in domestic and international law, and they are motivated by a complex milieu of reasons and ideals. Their characterization can also depend upon the person or institution using the label and may even change over time. To give two important examples, the list of most wanted terrorists kept by the United States of America featured, at one time, Yasser Arafat and Nelson Mandela. These two personalities were subsequently awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. (Sharkdam Wapmuk, 2012). It should be noted that, If either of these two personalities were killed when their status remain designated as terrorists, the world wouldn’t celebrate them like it is doing today. Rather, they may remain in the dark side of history for the same reason they are being celebrated today. This goes to justify the saying that, one man terrorist, is another man’s freedom fighter. Today, Mandela died a hero for the same reason he was designated a terrorist, this is an example terrorist group use to brainwash their recruits. If not for the politicization of terrorism by world powers, it is very unlikely that terrorism would assume this threatening dimension. This confirms that the issue of terrorism and who is a terrorist is a highly political and controversial matter. Having considered the complex nature of terrorism and the political and popular conceptions held about the term and about those who perpetrate terrorist acts, care must be taken when considering and assessing situations and how they might impact upon the subject of terrorism. It must also be stated, without down playing politics with terrorism, it would be very difficult to bring the menace to an end, as many terrorist groups can cite verifiable examples to their recruit to justify their evil actions. If U.S and other countries that have made politics out of terrorism in modern time didn’t do so, hardly can terrorist group find convincing examples to cite for their recruit to gain the kind of global follower-ship it is gaining today. During the 1940s and 1950s and even up to 1960s, ‘terrorism’ was used to describe the violence perpetrated by indigenous nationalists and anti-colonialist movements that sprang up in opposition against European colonial rule. These included anti-colonial groups in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Countries such as Kenya, Angola, Cyprus, and Algeria, for example, owe their independence at least in part to nationalist movements that used terrorism. An example of terrorist incident of the anti-colonial period is the 1946 bombing of Jerusalem's King David Hotel, by a Jewish underground group known as the Irgun Zvai Le’umi; other nationalist organizations that used terrorist tactics include National Military Organization; Mau-Mau led by Jomo Kenyatta, who later became Kenya’s President; Cyprus’s Archbishop Makarios, and Algeria’s President Ahmed Ben Bella. During the late 1960s and 1970s, terrorism assumed more clearly ideological motivations. Various disenfranchised or exiled nationalist minorities such as the PLO, embraced terrorism as a means to draw attention to their plight and generate international support for their cause. The PLO sought to create a Palestine State covering the territory of the land that became Israel in 1948 and the West Bank and Gaza Strip- territories occupied by Israel since the Six-Day War of 1967. A Palestinian group, in fact, was responsible for the incident that is considered to mark the beginning of the current era of international terrorism. On July 22, 1968, three armed Palestinians belonging to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), hijacked an Israeli El Al commercial flight en route from Rome, Italy, to Tel Aviv, Israel. Although commercial planes had often been hijacked before, this was the first clearly political hijacking. The act was designed to create an international crisis and thereby generate publicity. Over the years the PLO and other Palestinian groups have staged several dramatic international incidents, including hijack of commercial airliners, murder of Israeli athletes in 1972 Olympic Games, and hostage taking. In 1974, PLO leader Yasser Arafat received an invitation to address the UN General Assembly and the UN subsequently granted special observer status to the PLO. The world of the 21st century in which we are today, is more precarious, unpredictable and more dangerous than at any time in the history of mankind. Terrorism has become pervasive and its effects are felt all over the world, with no nation being immune from acts of terrorism. While the problem posed by terrorism has been recognized globally, the international community has not necessarily agreed about the nature of terrorism. According to Hoffman (1998), the word terrorism is politically and emotionally charged, and this greatly compounds the difficulty of arriving at an exact meaning. In the 1970s and 1980s, the United Nations attempted to define the term, but failed to reach a consensus mainly due to the differences of opinion between member states about the use of violence in the context of conflicts over national liberation and self determination. Right-wing groups or neo-fascist and neo-Nazi terrorism movements sprang up in many Western European countries and the United States during the late 1970s. These groups were said to have risen in opposition and in response to the violence perpetrated by leftwing organizations. Unfortunately, the right-wing groups did not have the numbers and popular support that their left-wing counterparts enjoyed. Thus the right wing engaged in terrorist acts such as the bombing of a crowded rail station which killed 84 people and wounded 180 others in 1980 in Bologna, Italy; in Munich, Germany, a bomb was planted by a member of a neo-fascist group, which exploded at Munich’s Oktoberfest celebration; and in 1995 white supremacists carried out a truck-bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, which claimed the lives of 168 people. Examples of important developments in international terrorism during the 1980s were the rise in state-sponsored terrorism and the resurgence of religious terrorism. An example of an attack believed to be state sponsored was the attempted assassination in 1981 of Pope John Paul II by a Turkish citizen, who allegedly was working for the Soviet and Bulgarian secret services. Other examples include the Iranian-backed car- and truck-bombings of the American Embassy and U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1983 and Libya's role in the in-flight bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie,Scotland, in 1988. In some of the terrorist acts carried out, religion was used to justify terrorist violence. Examples include the assassinations of Egypt's President Anwar al-Sadat in 1981 by Islamic extremists and the assassination of Israel's Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in 1994 by a Jewish militant. The terrorists often consider it a religious duty to destroy their victims. For example in the 1980s, the American CIA attempted to overthrow President Fidel Castro of Cuba. Still in the 1980s, it attempted to overthrow the Sandinista government in Nicaragua. Also, on many occasions, America used right-wing elements in various countries to illegally kill a lot of people. In Angola, the US actively supported the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (in Portuguese: União Nacional para a Independência Total de Angola) (UNITA) rebels against the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola Party (in Portuguese: Movimento Popular de Libertação de Angola – Partido do Trabalho) (MPLA) and it was defeated. On the other hand, many African, Arab and East European countries supported the Liberation movements that fought against apartheid regime in South Africa, the white minority government in Rhodesia (Now Zimbabwe) and the Portuguese colonial administration in Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique and Sao Tome and Principe. Some also supported the Palestinian Liberation Organization in its struggle for self determination. It is on account of these contradictions that some have observed that ‘one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter’, remains a common perspective on the definitional problem of terrorism. Foreign relations even indicate that though most people can recognize terrorism when they see it, experts have had difficulty coming up with a universally accepted definition. |

Mr. Rights Blog: FEMI KUTI’S PATERNITY CONTROVERSY: IN DEFENSE OF FEMI... http://mrrightsng..com/2014/12/femi-kutis-paternity-controversy-in.html?spref=tw Here, I didn’t say weather or not, the woman was right or wrong. I know for sure that many are culprits of the same thing she did, including her husband Femi. I am certain that hardly can Femi or many other men come out to swear that they never had extra marital affairs. She (Femi’s ex-wife) may just be the one whose conduct was blown by the DNA, but we cant say for sure that if other men also conduct DNA on their children, Femi won’t also be a father to someone else’s children. We all read the story about Femi Kuti returning two of his former children whom a DNA test revealed were not his. According to information available in public domain, he discovered they were not his children in 2004, but only talked about it in 2014 after he had returned the children to their biological father. Also, his former wife who gave birth to those children is no longer with him, I guess there reason for separation shouldn’t be unconnected to unfaithfulness, which warrant the DNA test in the first place. And true to his suspicion, the test blow the cover that indeed, two out of his five children were not his children. However, since the news broke out, many have express their view on his reaction to the issue. Most recently, Victoria Ibezim-Ohaeri (VIO) in her recent post frown at him for returning children that have grown up to know, love and call him daddy. In her view, he shouldn’t have returned those children because what it takes to be a father is not just giving birth to children, but taking care of them and since he did took care of them from birth, he his the father they knew. Few others also supported that view, but I think there is a major fault in such reasoning. If we should go by that logic, we are simply saying, keep another man’s children without their fathers consent despite knowing they are not yours. Even when their mother would not be there since she had separated with her ex husband, are we saying he should continue to keep children whose father and mother are known, hale, healthy and ready to take care of their own children? Honestly, there are many things wrong with such logic. Femi like every one else is a human being who has emotions and feelings. He his no robot that is capable of acting outside human capabilities. I said this because, doing contrary to what Femi did would have been strange to humanity, really, I have never seen any human who could do otherwise. He was hurt, boiling emotionally after realizing children whom he hold dear as his, turned out to be someone else’s children. He despise their mother for deceiving him all this years, but even despise himself more for being deceived this long. Seeing those children everyday reminds him of their mothers deceit, his hatred for her would grow and such aggression might even be transferred to the children someday. He his a human after all. Its easy to talk and make commentary when we are not the victim, but trust me, only the one wearing the shoe knows where it hurts. If you have watched a Philippians movie titled Mara & Clara, similar situation was captured. Children were exchanged in birth, but when it was revealed after 15 years, both fathers wanted their original child. Though they loved the former child, but each child has to be with their rightful parents, though, they may remain parents to them and friends to the family. On Femi’s case, before couples who had several children for each other decides to separate, certainly, it must have been after several irreconcilable disagreements. Since they agree to separate peacefully, we must ask, what warrant a DNA test? Without any doubt, it must not be unconnected to their reason for separation. Probably, Femi believe she wasn’t faithful and in fact, he may have reasons to believe some of those children are not his from the word go. He wanted to confirm and he did. After the cover was blown, what should he have done? Keep the children? NO. That can’t be done, it is not right, it can’t be justified under whatever condition. Even if he wanted to keep them, would the mother accept such considering the fact that she is no longer with the man to watch over them? Lets assume the mother accepted, do you think the original father won’t have heard about it? If he did, would he have allow his children continue to stay with another man? What sort of father would that be? In Yoruba tradition, Femi couldn’t have kept those children. They are called Omo- Ale (bastard). A yoruba proverb says, Ti ile eni ban toro, omo ale be ni ko ti dagba, meaning that, if a house is peaceful, the bastard child in it hasn’t grown. As traditional as Femi his, am sure he took that proverb seriously and did what he had to do. That doesn’t mean he would start treating the children bad, No. It also doesn’t mean the children can’t continue to call him dad, nor would he prevent them from coming to the house anytime they feel like, but they have to go to their biological father, its better for them for their future’s sake. If Femi had kept it to himself, that would amount to greater deception, because sooner or later, it would be revealed. Let us not be too emotional in public discuss. Yes, Femi himself might have been a bastard to his late dad, but there was no any DNA that proves that. And what gives us the impression that, if Fela had done DNA which reveal Femi not to be his biological child, he wouldn’t have done the same by returning him? Yes, Femi his still a father to those children, but he mustn’t continue to keep them against the wishes of their original parents. Here, I didn’t say weather or not, the woman was right or wrong. Irrespective of who did what, but one things is constant, the woman was wrong and she should be condemned for committing such a grave offense. If she wasn’t unfaithful, none of this would have happened. Both Bible and Qur'an strongly condemned adultery and fornication, irrespective of her religion, she bridged the moral sanctity of her marriage. Many did, some are doing, but they are all wrong and must be condemned. Mr.Rights. |

I am not sure if it has been reported, but its all over facebook yesterday |
MATTER ARISING ON THE POSSIBLE MISSING OF NAKSS INTERIM PRESIDENT (LADY COMRADE LATIFAT ADIO) KWARA GOVERNOR’S AID THREATENED BEFORE SHE WENT MISSING. • On friday (yesterday), I receive with utmost shock, the news of a possible missing interim NAKSS president (Lady Comrade Latifat Adio). • Personally, I do not want to believe she is missing, I pray she is not missing neither should anything bad happen to her wherever she might be. • However, even though I am not in Kwara, information available to me indicate that, some days ago, precisely on 24th November,2014, the interim president of National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) National Headquaters, Lady Comrade Latifat Adio called several people, complaining about the threat calls she had been receiving from unknown hidden numbers since she was announced by the congress of students as the interim president of the association. • She said she didn’t know those making the threat calls and since none of them were bold enough to come out to public to confront her on any issue, she didn’t take the threat seriously. • However, the threat was taken to a higher level on Monday 24th November,2014, when the provost of her school, (School of Nursing and Midwifey, Ilorin) called to inform her that the special assistant on student affairs to the Kwara state governor, Mr. Patrick Adwunmi call to threaten the provost about her for being the interim president of the association. • According to what she told many people on that faithful day, Mr. Adewunmi told her provost that she was fighting with the state government and for that reason, he his going to deal with her without sparing the school. She asked that, in what way did Mr.Adewunmi said she is fighting with the state government, but none was provided. • Since the threat to her provost, coupled with the numerous threats she has been receiving for being the interim NAKSS president, Lady Comrade Latifat Adio said she has been in a state of confusion. She said she almost gave up on the struggle to save the kwara apex student body from bastardization but knowing she is doing the right thing, the struggle must continue. • In view of the threat, she was advised to forward a letter to the Kwara state police commissioner and the State security services complaining about the numerous threat calls she had been receiving. • But since that Monday, many have reportedly been calling her , but no one was able to get her. QUESTIONS WE MUST ALL ASK • The question is, where is she? Why would she shutdown her phone all these days? Suddenly, why has no one been able to see her after the report of threat? • Why did the Special Assistant on student affairs to the Kwara State Governor, Mr. Patrick Adewunmi threaten her and her school ? What right does he have to do that? • Why is it that, After he threatened her and her school on Monday, no one has been able to see or reach her through phone since then? Am I missing something? Although, we cannot conclude that she is missing now, let everyone close to her kindly help reach out to ascertain her where about, but if things ever got to a stage that she is actually confirmed missing, the first person to be questioned would be the SA to the state governor.

This is a trying period for Nigeria, as security agencies have been severally accused of partisan politics. This accusation seems to be true with the numerous acts that looked like a clear action against a particular party and for the interest of another. In your view, do you think the Nigerian security agencies have compromised? Do you think Nigerians can rely on these agencies for security? Do you think the police and other security agencies are partisan? Lets get this right at least for once. Do not talk based on your political affiliation please, be objective. Thanks |
