Presidential candidate speaks on plans to remove obstacles to investment

Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, presidential candidate of the Peoples Trust (PT), says his party’s new Nigerian economic development plan will create $4 trillion GDP in 10 years.

In a statement on Monday, Olawepo-Hashim said his party has a target to net five percent of global infrastructure funds in 10 years by removing obstacles to investments.

He added that if the party is elected in 2019, it will promote an innovative economy by protecting proprietary rights of innovators.

The presidential candidate said PT has a total of 194 contestants on its platform for the 2019 general election, including 140 for the house of representatives, 52 for the senate.

PT is one of the political parties which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) registered ahead of next year’s general election.

“Our agenda is obviously most appealing. Our new Nigerian Economic Development plan will create 4 trillion dollars GDP in 10 years by the Grace of God. We target to net 5% of Global infrastructure funds in 10 years by removing obstacles to investments and rapidly increase the ease of doing business in Nigeria,” Olawepo-Hashim said.

“We will promote an innovative economy by protecting proprietary rights of innovators and the sanctity of agreement. We will integrate Agriculture, Solid Mineral Sector with industries and increase manufacturing share of the GDP to 40% and then tackle unemployment through industry based jobs.”

.

But Nigeria is not a country with patience that can endure to 10yrs. We want a miracle government that can turn Nigeria to UK in 1yr.
The 10 years plan is to move our economy from $510billion to $4trillion.

In between, the plan is reduce the current poverty by 50% in 5 years.

The plans are well spelt out. Each year spent Will get the country close to attaining the $4trillion target

A total of 6,510 contestants have thus far being registered for the elections, comprising 4,496 for the House of Representatives, 1,856 for Senate and 79 apiece for president and vice-presidential positions.

How APC dragged millions of Nigerians into poverty – Presidential candidate
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/294145-how-apc-dragged-millions-of-nigerians-into-poverty-presidential-candidate.html

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Trust, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has berated the ruling All Progressives Congress for what he described as the party’s poor economic management strategy, which he said has led to greater poverty amongst Nigerians.

In a statement made available to PREMIUM TIMES on Sunday, the presidential candidate said the “APC’s woeful failure has put 88 million Nigerians into acute poverty.

He said 1.1 million of that number “got into that bracket in the last four months despite relatively high oil price.”

Mr Olawepo-Hashim said Nigerians were getting poorer because of the woeful economic management strategy or lack of strategy of the APC government.

“Even though Nigeria was not a prosperous economy when President Buhari took over, the Nigerian economy has now gone from bad to worse,” he said.

He said the recent revelation by the Brooklyn Institute that 88 million Nigerians now live under acute poverty is disappointing, especially because a new one million more Nigerians moved into the poverty bracket within the last four months.

The businessman said the data on youth unemployment and job losses suggested the APC has a covenant with poverty and misery.

“There is no reason for this when oil prices are high,” he said

The presidential candidate also promised he would cut down acute poverty by half in the country within years of his election as president and commander-in-chief, and then set the nation’s economy on the path of modernization and all-round development.

“Our new Nigerian Economic Development plan will create 4 trillion dollars GDP in 10 years by the Grace of God. We target to net 5percent of Global infrastructure funds in 10 years by removing obstacles to investments and rapidly increase the ease of doing business in Nigeria,” he said.

“We will promote an innovative economy by protecting proprietary rights of innovators and the sanctity of agreement. We will integrate Agriculture, Solid Mineral Sector with industries and increase manufacturing share of the GDP to 40percent and then tackle unemployment through industry based jobs.”

“The transformation of Nigeria’s economy from a poor 510 billion dollar economy to a 4 trillion dollar economy within 10 years, the reduction in poverty and the restoration of peace, unity and stability in Nigeria, a country that the ruling party has badly mismanaged.

“I am therefore better placed to bring the country back together. I am most assured I can get the job done given my record of accomplishment” he said with a high of confidence, adding “I will restructure the economy from a dependent one to a self-reliant economy by investing in iron and steel, research and development, and in other critical sectors.”

He further said the critical sectors he would tackle include “chemical and machine tools, so as to generate the production of capital goods, local capital and to bring in prosperity, through the needed multipliers.”

Mr Olawepo-Hashim, who has substantial business interest in oil exploration and energy generation, also promised to implement a New Economic Development Programme (NEDP), which he said would lead to the expansion of Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“Besides, the NEDP will also increase the Per Capital Income (PCI) of the average Nigerian to between 16,000 to18, 000 US dollars within ten years as well,” he added

“This will make Nigeria to be at par with middle-income countries like Malaysia, with whom we had comparable income level at independence.

“Other than this, the NEDP would target an estimated 2 trillion US dollars into infrastructure within ten years. It will also create jobs from manufacturing, industrialization, and then link up industries with solid minerals and the agricultural sector.”

The agricultural sector, he also said, would be integrated with the industrial and solid mineral sectors, to create sustainable jobs for youths employment .

Mr Olawepo-Hashim is a former student union activist in the 1980s and a pro-democracy activist in the early 90s.

Olawepo-Hashim Unveils Blueprint, Scores APC Low On Economy

The presidential candidate of the People’s Trust un the 2019 election , Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, is unimpressed with the economic management style of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which he claimed had led to widespread poverty amongst Nigerians.

He regretted that “APC’s woeful failure has put 88 million Nigerians into acute poverty while 1.1million got into that bracket in the last four months despite relatively high oil price.”

In an interactive session with journalists at the weekend in Abuja, the presidential candidate said that Nigerians were getting poorer because of the poor economic management strategy of the APC government, adding that “even though Nigeria was not a prosperous economy when President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office, the economy has become worse.”

The cerebral politician said that the recent revelation by the Brooklyn Institute that 88 million Nigerians now live under acute poverty was disappointing, especially that a new one million Nigerians moved into the poverty bracket within the last four months.

Olawepo-Hashim noted that the data from youth unemployment, job losses seems like the APC had a “covenant with poverty and misery. There is no reason for this when oil prices is high.”

He vowed to cut down acute poverty by half in the country within five years of his election as president and commander-in-chief, and also set the nation’s economy on the path of modernisation and all-round development.

Olawepo-Hashim said: “Our new Nigerian Economic Development plan will create $4 trillion Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 10 years by the grace of God. We target to net five percent of global infrastructure funds in 10 years by removing obstacles to investments and rapidly increase the ease of doing business in Nigeria.

“We will promote an innovative economy by protecting proprietary rights of innovators and the sanctity of agreement. We will integrate agriculture, solid mineral sector with industries and increase manufacturing share of the GDP to 40 percent and then tackle unemployment through industry-based jobs,” he said.

According to him, “the transformation of Nigeria’s economy from a poor 510 billion economy to a $4 trillion economy within 10 years, the reduction in poverty and the restoration of peace, unity and stability in Nigeria, a country that the ruling party has badly mismanaged remain my mission.

“I am therefore better placed to bring the country back together. I am most assured I can get the job done given my record of accomplishment,” he said, adding that “I will restructure the economy from a dependent one to a self-reliant economy by investing in iron and steel, research and development, and in other critical sectors,” he said.

These critical sectors, he would pursue include “chemical and machine tools, so as to generate the production of capital goods, local capital and to bring in prosperity, through the needed multipliers.”

The business mogul with substantial interest in oil exploration and energy generation further promised to implement a New Economic Development Programme (NEDP) which will lead to the expansion of Nigeria’s GDP.

Besides, the NEDP will also increase the Per Capital Income (PCI) of the average Nigerian to between $16,000 and $18,000 within 10 years as well. This, to him, will make Nigeria to be at par with middle-income countries such as Malaysia, with whom “we had comparable income level at independence.”

The politician said that NEDP would target an estimated $2 trillion into infrastructure within 10 years and create jobs from manufacturing, industrialisation, and link up industries with solid minerals and the agricultural sector.

Frontline Presidential Candidate, Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim berated at the weekend the poor economic management strategy of the governing All Progressive Congress (APC), which has led to greater poverty amongst Nigerians.

The candidate running on the platform of the popular People’s Trust (PT) regretted that “APC’s woeful failure has put 88million Nigerians into acute poverty. 1.1m got into that bracket in the last four months despite relatively high oil price”

In an interactive session with journalists at the weekend, he said Nigerians are getting poorer because of the woeful economic management strategy or lack of strategy of the APC government, and “even though Nigeria was not a prosperous economy when President Buhari took over, Nigerian economy has now gone from bad to worse”

“We will promote an innovative economy by protecting proprietary rights of innovators and the sanctity of agreement. We will integrate Agriculture, Solid Mineral Sector with industries and increase manufacturing share of the GDP to 40% and then tackle unemployment through industry based jobs”

A veteran of many struggles, right from his youth as a student union activist in the 1980’s, and a pro-democracy activist in the early 90’s, he has been a businessman politician for almost two and a half decades.

The mission for him remains Nigeria, “the transformation of Nigeria’s economy from a poor 510 billion dollar economy to a 4 trillion dollar economy within 10 years, the reduction in poverty and the restoration of peace, unity and stability in Nigeria, a country that the ruling party has badly mismanaged”

“I am therefore better placed to bring the country back together. Other than this, the astute politician said NEDP would target an estimated 2 trillion US dollars into infrastructure within ten years. It will also create jobs from manufacturing, industrialization, and then link up industries with solid minerals and the agricultural sector.

According to him, the agricultural sector will be integrated with the industrial and solid mineral sectors, to create sustainable jobs for youths employment will also be accelerated through the promotion of innovation and the knowledge economy.

Saraki’s claim on Kwara Education is the greatest fraud of 21st century

https://mrrightsng..com/2018/11/sarakis-claim-on-kwara-education-is.html?m=1

Kwara Must Change, a pro Democracy group in Kwara State wishes to inform the general public that the state of education in Kwara State is one of the worst in the country.

This can be verified in our May 9th report, in which Kwara Must Change exposed a heart breaking and endemic rot in Kwara State education sector, particularly in Kwara North and Kwara South in which a whole school only has one staff, who functions as teacher, cleaner and head master/mistress.

As was properly captured in the report, ‘’The super staff, in addition to handling the administrative duties, also teaches all students in all classes, from primary 1 to primary 6, in addition to teaching all subjects including Mathematics, English, Social Studies, Science, Home Economics, Art etc’’.

However, it was surprising to read with utmost dismay, the fraudulent claim by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki over the state of education in Kwara State in which he claimed that he initiated a policy to advance education in the state.

According to the statement, Saraki was said to have applauded the federal government for sharing his decade-old vision for education reform, which he claimed was initiated to resuscitate public education in Kwara State. He then went on to call on other states across the nation to study and emulate the Kwara State model, while also commending his successor, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, for sustaining the model.

Kwara Must Change viewed this claim as the greatest fraud of the 21st century. Apart from the fact that this claim is out rightly false, we find it difficult to understand why a man who destroyed our education and dragged it 20years backward would feel so confident to tell an obvious lie before the public, to an extent that he is laying claim to a none existing policy with zero effect in Kwara State.

Let it be clear that, in Saraki’s 8years tenure as governor of Kwara State, he didn’t not build one single school; neither did he do anything reasonable to improve the education system. This explains why we have student’s learning under tree in Kwara State today and certainly, this is not something to be proud of or something to recommend to others, as no reasonable government would be willing to copy a system that is aimed at taking us back to the Stone Age.

Recall also that just last week, an investigation by Elites Network for Sustainable Development (ENetSuD), a Civil Society Organisation (CSO) based in Kwara State, has revealed the "state of shame" of public schools across the state.

The group observed that due to the negligence of the government, reputable schools that have produced a lot of important personalities in Kwara State have become the options for poor and vulnerable Kwarans, who cannot afford to pay the fees of private schools. It also called on the state government to declare a state of emergency in its education sector.

It is a shame that, while civil society organizations in the state are calling for the declaration of state of emergency in Kwara State education sector, Mr Saraki is busy claiming a none existing glory for imaginary policy he claimed to have initiated.

Similarly, Saraki’s wife, Mrs Toyin Saraki had recently made another false claim that an imaginary project she referred to as conditional cash transfer took place in Kwara State during the administration of her husband, Bukola Saraki.

As we had stated then, “Kwara Must Change maintained that, the only project executed during the administration of Bukola Saraki as Governor of Kwara State was the domestication of poverty, endemic corruption and poverty transfer from one generation to the other.

We maintain that the Bukola Saraki’s administration in Kwara State should simply be described as the administration of poverty transfer from generation to generation and he should be regarded as Mr Poverty transfer.” But considering his latest fraudulent claim of advancing education through a none existing policy, it appeared Dr Saraki wants to be remembered as the greatest liar of the 21st century.
