Hello house, Is it possible to replace the dashboard of a 2008 Toyota Camry? I mean to remove the dashboard and put another one with custom fitting. Has anyone done this before here in Nigeria? And how much does it cost? |

@Op I will advise you accordingly..... The EVAP issue is not really a serious issue as such, as in it really does not have much damaging consequences on the car unlike the P0301 Code which if not corrected can have a detrimental effect on your catalytic converter as a result of unburned fuel escaping into the exhaust manifold and this will in turn melt the catalytic converter. But the EVAP emmission issues are some of the reasons why some cars fail emmission tests in the US. What the EVAP system does is that it directs fuel vapour back to the engine to be burned out instead of the atmosphere....this is the reason most times you will never notice any symptom on the car when this issue arises except the 'Check Engine Light' that will be on. So really except you have so much cash to splash, I will advise you still continue to use the car like that for now. We don't have any emmission standards in Nigeria here. @Lomomike, talk true, you fit splash $450 on top just Charcoal Canister? ![]() |
ss501: yes the airbag has been deployed before and it has 47,332 milesVery apt observation.....very honest reply. Happy Sales. |
I doubt your ECU is bad, @lomomike has done enough justice to your queries. We await other experts in the house to elucidate on the signs of a bad ECU. But PLEASE don't allow that Mechanic go near your ECU. A mechanic that cannot interprete a DTC should not even lay hands on your bonnet let alone touch your engine. Lomomike....nice piece. |
Seun: Try this search instead: https://www.nairaland.com/search/2014.toyota.corolla/1/26/1Seun's Search result......see image please. What has 2nd week of September 2014 got to do with "2014 Toyota Corolla"? Because 2014 was in the statement. And please I searched for '2014 Corolla' why is 2003 Corolla being pulled up? @Admin I'm sure you've got the message. Nairaland search results are too generalised. Install an Intelligent Filter Engine.

Online store yet no website? Anyways what are your prices for iPad Air and iPad 4? |
@Op don't do things that will make Paypal suspend Nigeria again! Pls be careful.....no use ur own 'kobalise' others. |
flinton: Check well, I fink there are filters after ur first searchEven with that the results are still non- specific. Take a look at the attached image.....I tried searching for a 2013 Corolla, the first result that came up was for a 2000 Corolla....all because Corolla was in the picture, and yes I used the filter. Now this will waste so much time in getting the exact info you want. Admin will understand me better, if he reads this i know he will understand what I mean immediately. He's a webmaster. @Admin Please sir put more works into "Nairaland Search"
|
Hello Admin, I have observed this phenomenon closely for a while now. The Nairaland Search engine is just too broad. I mean it's as if there is no filter installed. You try to search for say, "2014 Toyota Corolla" and the results you get will amaze you! I mean you will see every thread where 2014 was ever mentioned such as Anambra 2014 elections, 2014 Ebola outbreak, 2014 Sports season etc, then you will see all threads where Toyota was ever mentioned such as 1999 Toyota Camry, Toyota opens new Manufacturing plant, 2002 Toyota Highlander, 2001 Toyota Corolla etc, and then you will have all threads where Corolla were mentioned such as 1998 Toyota Corolla, 2010 Toyota Corolla etc. So at the end of the day you really don't get what you were searching for so what is now the usefulness of the search button? Now my point is such search results are too general and non - specific!! You can look through Google search results.....soo straight to the point. Admin please you have to do something about this. How can someone want a fast track to get an information and ends up being drawn back the more. Please make the Search results as relevant to the Search queries as much as possible. We appreciate your efforts in making Nairaland a formidable forum, please work on the search engine. Thank you. Regards, Bimbo. |
It could be a flood ![]() |
If you ask me, I think Nairaland is much bigger than LIB. The difference is that Nairaland admin gives very little space for advertising which is supposed to be the mainstay of any public forum, Linda Ikeji on the other hand is built around advertising, You could see up to 10 advert banners on her home page at the same time. Nairaland adverts are hidden inside individual boards, which means you have to search through individual boards to get to some particular adverts, this is enough to shy away potential investors who will beleive their adverts will receive very low patronage. Nairaland home page is not catchy enough. There are very few adverts on the home page, this should not be because the home page belongs to all and should house various forms of adverts. This is the only way it can pool investors and clients as well. Then more importantly....Linda is very sociable, this also plays a pivotal role as she mixes with sociable events such as Musical concerts and expensive business dinners within the Lagos metropolis. This is where she gathers her customers. Seun on the other hand prefers to stay in his village in Ogun State where no one will ever know him in Lagos. Lol.... Last but not least....."The power of a woman......a single woman!"........winks. |
chukel: Bimbor, though u need to scan ur ride, d cold start phenomenon is normal. My 07 camry revs like dat during cold start though not more than 1500rpm. 06 avalon, same too. That's the engines intrinsic way of getting warmed up to the optimal temperature of 82/84 degrees celcius. I noticed too that wen d oil needs changing, it revs more. Can't explain y. During ur scan check to make sure ur engine temperature corresponds with ur coolant temperature. The rev is a function of feedback of CTS I guess. I stand to be corrected. Note that during normal use in d day wen engine is warmed up, it starts at normal RPM. But scan d car. Too young to have check engine. Its not up to 2 months baa? All d bestChukel thanks. I will do the needful. I'm trying to acquire my own personal scanning tool sef. It is bound to happen because cars are mechanical machines that undergo daily wear and tear. That is where proper maintenance matters. Remember it is a used car not brand new. Thanks. |
mayor2013: Pls give state full details of your car.My Car is "2008 Toyota Camry XLE with the 2AZFE Engine. omicron: Does the car vibrate at start up, or just the rev of 2k that comes down to 1k and then 750 - 800 after engaging drive? No, the car does not vibrate at start up omicron: Any CEL on?Yes, the CEL is on now. omicron: Does it still start at 2k even after several minutes of continous driving and engine is at highest normal temperature? No, after I've driven some distance and the engine warms up to optimal temperature it doesn't start at such high rpm, usually after the engine heats up, the start up rpm is around 1200rpm and then drops immediately to 1000. The harsh rpm only occurs with cold start when engine temperature is at zero. |
When I start my car in the morning it sometimes revs initially at 2000rpm and then gradually begins to decrease slowly until it reaches 1000rpm and stabilizes. When I engage the gear into "Drive" the rpm now drops to between 700-800rpm. But that initial start up 2000rpm always sounds too harsh for me. My questions: For initial start of 2000rpm, is that not too high? I know the rpm should be high at start up but not as high as 2000rpm. So my question is that "what could be the explanation for this very high start up rpm? Is it normal? Or is it a factor of the engine oil used? But then I was using conventional engine oil (Mobil XHP) for my previous car and I didn't notice such thing although that was Honda. My present car is a Toyota Camry. Is this normal with Camrys? Helpful explanations will be highly appreciated please. Thank you. |
lomomike: If you follow that sequence on a slope or a hilly area, you will certainly over load the park pawl pin which could lead to difficulty in pulling the shifter out of 'P' to any other gear program, or at worst, you could damage the Parking pawl pin.I'm learning. |
mpaaa: Na wa..oo make una help a broda out before I become a victim of financial ebola....Lol.....Go to "Autos" section. |
