Dr Muzungu: Is that the only thing Nigerian men have to offer? If I amone of them, I would feel insulted, lol.
There's much more we offer

Heck if that's all I will be ashamed of being a naija male myself

Too many narrow minded racists and tribalists on NL

All na d1ck, phock phock and hiv

InvestmentRe: How Should Young People Invest Their Extra Cash? by biolabee(m): 11:58am On Mar 24, 2013
Seun: Many investment gurus have said that most lucrative investment you can make is an investment in yourself. Use your extra cash to buy things that will increase your earning power, such as certifications, career-enhancing books, part-time studies, and good healthcare. Or your business, if you're an entrepreneur.

Index funds are definitely the safest way to invest in stocks if you don't know what you are doing - that is, if you cannot calculate a company's monetary value to a high degree of accuracy by reading its financial statements.

We dont seem to have index funds in Nigeria yet, though we have mutual funds. Mutual funds are not an appropriate substitute for index funds because they charge much higher fees but do not perform any better than index funds. Mutual funds can fail catastrophically due to mistakes by their managers, while index funds tend to fail only when the entire market is failing, e.g when an asset bubble bursts.

You should also consider safe government securities like tbills and bonds. You can put about half of your funds in them. They tend to do better when stocks are not doing so well. They are also very easy to convert to cash when you need cash urgently.

I recommend "Buffett: The Making Of An American Capitalist" if you really want to learn more about investing and stocks.
Excellent post, Seun

whitebrown: I read this thread with dismay and sadness seeing the kind of animosity and hatred between two countries whose synergy can really bring a lot of respect to Africa as a continent. I also believe as a Nigerian who has resided here in SA for well over 10 yrs now that a lot of enlightenment is needed. Firstly scam marriages have been in existence all over the world for decades I believe, but lets pause and ask ourselves a question, is it normal even if its a scam marriage to be married to someone you don't know or have never seen? Yes, it's the reality, it's no news here that hundreds of ladies and women go to the home office for one reason or the other only to find out that on the system they are married to some Nigerian or Pakistani without their knowledge. Female SA identity documents are stolen , picture on it removed and another picture inserted, the person whose pic is now inserted will go to the home office impersonating the original bearer of the I.d and will be married to a nigerian. The problem is status change affect a lot of things , bank account , life policies etc, I have even seen a situation where this scam marriage was only discovered after the original I.d owner died and the mortuary refused to release the copse no one except the spouse who no one knew not even the ladies child and it was chaos. When a young nigerian man arrives at the home office for marriage with a rural woman 45 years older than he and the woman can hardly speak a word of English and they can even see nerves all over the guy, dont you think the home office pick up all these. How long do they stand and watch? People do scam marriages, barely a month after they obtain their citizenship, they are filing for divorce, don't you think these events spark curiousity? Secondly, the issue of Nigerians involved in drugs and 419 is just out of control here, come to kempton park or Hillbrow, you will be ashamed and embarrassed for us as Nigerians, Nigerians back home see nothing and hence I understand the resentment of people resenting us, but come to these places and you will be angry, and this is why once people visit nigeria, the impression changes, the way Nigerians are on the loose here, it's not out of place to think Nigeria is just a country where drugs are sold at bus stops and every computer in every home is used for 419. 419 is so known here that you will almost not believe its a Nigerian Criminal code. Nigerians are not the only ones involved in criminal activities here, but we are by far the loudest , we believe in parading and making noise, we draw attention to our selves. I frequent the airport a lot and always as in 90% of the time, their are always human remains in coffins being flown home, right there you will my fellow brothers even arguing and all I hear is ego and lots of them even kill and set up each other. You find the other tribe also doing their credit card scam. We are are own biggest enemies and we need to earn world wide respect but it begins with us.

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner tells Sky Sports: "They took it into their own hands, which was uncomfortable for us - we gave them instructions to hold station but Sebastian took it into his own hands to win the race - he wanted to win.

"They've raced each other hard before - they're very good drivers. There are points at stake and they both want to win. For the team it's hugely uncomfortable.

"It's difficult when you have two competitive drivers like ours. It's difficult to watch because you could end up giving up 43 points. You have to remember there's two elements to F1 - there's a drivers' championship and a constructors' championship."
Mark Webber, who finished second: "The first part of the grand prix went very well for us. In the end we got the right strategy and after the last stop the team told me to turn the engine down. Seb made his own decisions and will have protection as usual. I turned my engine down and as we know he's a quick pedaller."
Allan Webber [Mark's father on Sky Sports: "I am disappointed. We're with Red Bull and Red Bull is a European company and they probably wanted a European driver to win but Seb is a great driver.

"He's not a happy camper how he deals with it down the line we'll have to see, I think he'll be throwing a few toys around later. It was a frustrating day but I think he deserved better.

"Today we didn't think we'd be on the podium, so a one-two is a great day. I am just disappointed it's not my boy who is number one."
Sebastian Vettel issues an apology to Mark Webber: "I want to say sorry to Mark. He was trying to save the car and tyres, but I took a lot of risk in passing him when he was trying. I didn't ignore that, but I shouldn't have done it."

I agree .... this rivalry is not over, it will blow up again.. somewhere else

1049:
Very muted pre-podium room. There's definitely an air of tension in there. Adrian Newey and Sebastian Vettel make small talk, but there's no real celebration.

Dondav: Ok... After Observing all the Comments under this topic, I've come to a Conclusion that;

89% of Nairalanders (Especially Women), are Mentally ill, and their comments shouldn't be taken seriously due to the gravity of the Mental illness.

E.g; What has ethnicity got to do with the topic?, what is the significant essence of your grudges with South African Women?, What has HIV and Big D1cks got to do with the topic?

All you do is Rant and Rant and Keep Ranting utterly Crap and Nonsense.

The other 11%, Kudos to your stable and Awesome mode of reasoning. I appreciate the Effort.

You don't see South Africans ranting how Bad their Government is, Or how bad the rate of Murder or Rape in the country is; when they are on a Public Forum.

Nigerian should learn to be discrete about some intense or harsh words used in public Forums.
Do you think Criticizing Nigeria on a Public Forum will send a Good Message about Us?
I know how bad the Economy is, But try keeping it on the notch.. If you have nothing good to say about Nigeria, Shut it!

NB: Nothing said about Nigeria is New Anymore (It's been said before, Over and Over again).. So Pls, Keep it Down.

shymexx: Fabio Coentrao makes me happy every time I watch him... He reminds of a young Lizarazu but he's actually better, faster, and more skillful than Lizarazu... His upsides are scary and he'll become one of the greatest left backs ever when it's all said and done...

However, the Portuguese team isn't that good - Pepe, Nani, and Alves are washed up... Only Moutinho, Ronaldo, and Coentrao are good..

What happened to Postiga, anyway?
Postiga is not too clinical though hje scored against Israel

Dude Lizarazu rocked o.. Fabio is still coming up
The only player i could compare to him then was R Carlos
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Kenya - WC Qualifier (1 - 1) On 23rd March 2013 by biolabee(m): 3:02am On Mar 24, 2013
shymexx: Bro., I'm a died-hard football fan - I'm just kind of focused on NFL and NBA for now because Football isn't as great as it used to be after the last golden era of the 90s to early 2000s... We just have only two great footballers now(Messi and Ronaldo), the rest aren't that great...

I used to cry because of football back in day, that was how passionate I was about the game... Studied the game like a bible... But football is in comatose for now... How many strikers today can we compare to the Bastituta, Raul Gonzalez, Hernan Crespo, Baggio, Patrick Kluivert, Dennis Bergkamp, Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit, Klinsmann, Ronaldo de Lima, Weah, Rivaldo, Romario, Stoichkov, Marcelo Salas, Zamorano etc. of this world?? How many midfielders can we compare to the Lothar Matthaus, Edgar Davies, Clarence Seedorf, Zidane, Del Piero, Valderrama, Ronaldinho, Makelele, Patrick Viera, Paul Scholes, Hagi, Luis Figo, Didier Deschamps etc. of this world?? And defenders to Sammer, Baresi, Hierro, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Marcel Desailly, Lilian Thuram, Maldini, Frank De Boer etc.. of this world??

Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit, Patrick Kluivert, Dennis Bergkamp, and the De Boer brothers are my most favourite footballers of all time... My older brother got me on football from a young age and he's the biggest Ajax and Holland supporter ever... Heck, he had dreads at one time because of Gullit... grin
Bros you are right.. the footballers you have now are like a production line of which the finest of all of them is Ronnie
That is why i love El Pulga.. he is just latent talent
Quantity is favored over quality

Even here in Naija, the team of that era were superb...
