Brother.. I am in the same boat as you.

Applications in France have closed..

Any idea on what to do?
No idea. I am hoping the letter given by PTDF should make them reconsider.

Who here has applied to France or Germany?

How were you able to do it, given that most schools have closed their applications even before PTDF commenced interviews?

There's a total of 247 applicants shortlisted from my state. 103 for GFM and 144 for UK.

I have given up. Good luck to you guys.
Over 200 candidates from mine! shocked

The list for the UK is long oh. Many applicants want the UK. Why exactly?

It's just a project until you publish it on a peer reviewed journal.
I hear in some centres, panelists were there with computers and internet to check if what you claim was published is actually published
Wow! Even though it's a practical based work?

In Abuja, they had two laptops in front of them.

I just wanted to share my experience. I had my interview on Tuesday in Abuja. My field of study is MSC Energy Law and Policy. The interviewers were super friendly. Asked me to present my documents, they looked through each one and inputed scores on their computer. They asked why I didn't have any publication and then told me I had lost marks allotted for publication. They even queried why I belonged to just one professional body. Well, they concluded by asking me to summarize my SOP, detailing what I wanted to study, why I wanted to study it and it's relevance to the Oil and Gas industry.
Truth is, I kind of felt bad about the publication thing, but it's all Good. I wish the rest of you all the best. May God crown you efforts with success.
I had mine in Abuja too, Tuesday. Exactly as yours went, so did mine. What was the time duration of your interview?

First, I was asked for my WAEC and BSc and I gave both certificates to them. Then, I was asked if I belonged to a professional body and I presented them with the evidence. Then some questions from two of the judges there, after which I was asked for a publication and that, I do not have (felt bad about this).

One thing I still want to understand though is this; could one's undergraduate project serve as a publication, even when it is practical work and not research-based?

Summary, dress formal like people said here (I was asked why I did not wear a tie despite dressing formal), belong to professional bodies, have a publication, get ready to answer a few questions and pray (if you believe in God).

CC: myphysics, please, the bolded. Any idea?

I met people from Lagos in Abuja this past Monday. The fact is you don't have any excuse not to show up for the interview. You even have a publication to cover up for the D7.

Na everybody wey come Abuja from Lagos use flight?

Second author or 20th author, the panelist told me let your name just show in the journal when they search it online. Yes, my panelist were fully armed with data and laptop to check the title of your work online so they can verify.
How can I do the bolded please?

I'm curious, for those that have done theirs, what did you wear?

SonyaSpence:
--- Be very confident and composed.
--- Know your course and why you have chosen to study it, you also need to know and be ready to explain the link between your chosen course and the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
--- Know your choice university and why you prefer it (explain very reasonably).
--- Take as many certifications and membership as you can lay your hands on, do not neglect any, your interviewers may decide to count all for you.
---- If you have publications, take them along too.

Wishing everyone all the best cool

Log into the portal and print the one with the QR code in front. Also print out the invitation letter that was sent to your email, the one with the date and venue.

Don't forget other credentials too and anyone you feel will support your application.

Boss, can you explain the implications for these?

I chose schools in France.

What's the implication especially for those who haven't gotten admission yet?

Thank you
I honestly don't know too. This is my first time applying to France and I haven't been admitted.

For those considering Germany as their prefeerd study destination and currently don't hold an offer from any german school, kindly note that you're expected to secure the admission yourself. Neither DAAD nor PTDF will assist you with the admission. You can find this info on a document published by DAAD during the 2020 application call. They clearly stated it on the 3rd page. So my advice is that you seek your admissions now. Uni-Assist may take a while, and their process is something else. Try finding schools that accept direct application rather than through Uni-Assist. I got my admission through direct application (HS Darmstadt) but their deadline has elapsed. Fortunately, DAAD gave the option of starting in the winter session (ie January) so you should also consider that.
Thanks for the tip. Seems TU Berlin only takes application through Uni-Assist. They were having issues last night and the dealine was yesterday. I don't know how I want to do it again.

Good day,

Thank you for contacting us.

Applications through the Etudes en France (Campus France) have closed. Applications reopen from October for next year September (2023) intake.

However, many schools, especially private schools, still accept applications.

For Germany, France, and maybe Malaysia scholars, PTDF does not manage them directly. PTDF manages solely UK scholars directly. For others the Fund relies on third party scholarship bodies for effective and efficient management of the scholars. Thus, for Germany: DAAD, France: Campus France, etc.

So once you have been shortlisted, PTDF will forward the list of the successful candidates to their management body accordingly. For DAAD, because it's usually late, they often open their portal to accommodate new PTDF scholars who will be asked to register with DAAD. They will be shortlisted after checking their files again. After being shortlisted by DAAD, the scholar will now seek for admission and then keep updating their information with DAAD.

In this instance, the role of PTDF will only be to provide you with proof of fund, scholarship award letter (to ease your admission search), and provision of a flight ticket. When you go through DAAD, they will be no need to pay for Visa fee or when you pay, PTDF will refund. For scholars who are not shortlisted for DAAD (Of course this is purely for German Scholars), PTDF will proceed with the process of opening a blocked account for them.

This is how it goes. For French Scholars, the process is easy, you don't need to be shortlisted again by Campus France. PTDF will provide you with your proof of fund, sponsorship letter which will be used to apply for Visa when you are admitted to any school. Campus France will get an accommodation for you, they will plan your trip from the Airport in France to your accommodation.

The monthly stipend is paid by the scholarship management body (DAAD & Campus France).

For UK Scholars, PTDF is their DAAD and Campus France. They sometimes have to fund their trip to the UK and get reimbursed when they land. I mean they go through the entire Nigeria bureaucratic system. But its better than France and Germany because getting admission in UK is pretty easy. You can apply today and get admission today. Also, I think (not sure) that their monthly stipend is better
Thanks for the previous response. I still have questions, please. I am currently on the websites of French schools. Are you saying we have to apply directly or we go through Campus France (many schools are saying we should apply through Campus France)?

I was shortlisted for OSS MSc.

Congrats to all involved!

I have questions:

1. Those that chose Germany and France, have you applied to the respective schools? If yes, how did you go about that of Germany?

Mrphysics, help needed. Thank you.

The last one I sold, being today, was 190k, 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM, backlit keyboard and this is because this was old price and we have been talking about it. Even we dealers are hoping prices too come down.

Yes. It could be. That is why I said depends on seller and location
Someone close to me got for 320k this year from his school mate who sells laptop.
No matter the situation, the price is not less than 300k
I recall a customer accusing me of hiking price till he went to the market himself and realized his budget of N300k could not get a core i5 laptop (new) for him.

Hello. I need your informed advice and recommendations.

With a budget of just 130k, what's the best UK/US used system to code?
Note I'm all for speed, durability and running heavy sofwares seemleasly. Thanks for your response
I'll be honest with you, a budget of 130k cannot get you a good laptop for coding. Most programmers here started with a Folio 9470m/9480m and the current price is about 160k (and this is the one with HDD. Adding an SSD will shoot the price up by about N10000). When they got theirs, it was 75k to 85k, depending on specifications.

If you want long battery life (about 6hrs to 7hrs or more), go for a DELL 5470 or 5480 and these are close to 180k - 200k and they are all SSD enabled.

And yes, I sell pre-owned laptops.

If you plan on going to Germany next year, you should plan towards it this year. As I heard and confirmed from a friend who'll soon leave, she started last two years and was recently invited for an interview last year ending or so.

Good luck!

I'm curious, is this your first time?

I applied once in 2019 where I paid for NIN with a Diamond Bank debit Card and it went smoothly.

In this recent application, I was asked "use existing account?" I agreed and it opened a new one without the 'verify NIN' appearing.

Now, after filling all, to submit, I'm told my NIN has not been verified. Again, if anyone has a solution to the above, let me know. Thank you.
