In my opinion Abuja is the best thing we have in Nigeria.

Why? Because there is no omo-nile on ground. The indegenes are also the best people we have in Nigeria; highly accommodating even to a fault.
This is the only city any young man or lady can come and make something of their lives without worrying about fitting in.
Road Networks are excellent, land is available and relatively cheap within the outskirts. A young couple can have a home within five years of planning. Food is cheap and getting around is a breeze. Crime is virtually non-existing compared to other states and security is top notch. You could close work on a friday by 8pm , hit the bars till 11pm , then switch to a club till 3am and be on your bed by 5 and wake up without a damn hangover.
Come to think of it, since I moved here I have never had a hangover

I live and work in Abuja. I am original from Lagos and I can tell you sincerely that I can not stay in Lagos no more than 2 or 3 days.
Abuja is a working city and it is by far the number one most liveable city in Nigeria only Calabar and Uyo come a distant second and third respectively.

wirinet: It is apparently unconstitutional to remove a governors other than that prescribed by the constitution. A desperate pdp can bribe a federal high court to declare their positions vacant, and immidiately the president would use the police to effect the kangaroo judgement, and ask the affected governors to go to court. Then the attorney general will use delay tactics until 2015. Even if the appeal court give a favourable judgement to the governors. the government will still fail to allow the governors resume by claiming that it is only after final judgement by the supreme court that they will abide by the court's decision.

We have seen this scerenio played out over and over again.

A good example is the Oyinlola case. A high court declared Oyinlola's seat as PDP secretary vacant and the very next day he was removed from office. now that he has won at the appeal court, they are using the police to stop him from resuming by claiming they are waiting for the supreme court to pass final judgement.

I hope Jonathan does not plan on using Nigerian armed forces to enforce illegality, it might have disasterous consequences.

A supreme court ruling removed an elected Governor not based on the actual election outcome but the primaries leading up to it.
PDP will argue their case with the original supreme court ruling that favored Amechi which set aside party affiliation above Individual candidacy on the premise that before one can contest an election, one must be presented at the polls by a political party. In the case of Ameachi that party was the PDP. Now that Ameachi has moved over to the APC which neither fielded Ameachi or won any election in Rivers as a party, Ameachi will then be requested to vacate the office AND not ONLY HIM! If his deputy switched with him both will then be made to vacate the office and if the speaker is also not a PDP member he also will not occupy the office.

The APC sees nothing wrong with the way Nigeria is being managed other than that it is not them in power.

This is why they don't want a review of the working arrangement we are currently subjugated too. The APC has been vocally and actively against a constitutional review and a National confab because the same parasitic politicians in the APC want to continue benefiting from free oil revenues.
Just like the northerners are opposed to PIB or resource control for the Oil Producing regions so also do these false peddlers of change and progress want to continue in this criminal arrangement.
The APC is a criminal mix of thieving bigots and elitist Tribal War lords bent on grabbing oil loot.
If Lagos and the other SW regions are as viable as they want to claim why is it that the SW prothieves in control not throw their weight behind a review of the working and sharing formula that is so lopsided that it favors a backward dusty and sparse northern state which contributes nothing to the federal purse above most states in the south?

Exactly. That is why we need (for the sake of our future) to ensure that not only on an individual basis but also on a regional and state level that state and local governments are self sustainable. The only goal politicians see is to control the money flow from oil and it's distribution.

The north in my opinion is by far the richest region in Nigeria by mere land size. Rather than empower their people and encourage local and international investors into agriculture , these lazy northern governors are only interested in the FG oil revenue allocations that never filter down to their own people. That is why we need a new policy frame work on how wealth is distributed.
