IMPRESSiVE: Big Church Ambassador Rosaline Meurer Donates Cash For Hospital Bills And Maternity Upkeep Of Pregnant Women (photos)

Nollywood actress Rosaline Meurer continued the charity works for Big Church Foundation with a visit to 3-H maternity Clinic‎ for pregnant women. The hospital had several women both in labour and those that newly gave birth. 

Rosaline who‎ is also the Ambassador for the foundation for mother and Child gave each of the women money for their hospital bills and maternity upkeep. It was indeed a celebration galore for them as they made a beautiful song to appreciate her and the goodwill of the popular Nigeria NGO. One of the high points of the benevolence visit was the excited delivery of a child by one of the women as she called after the Ambassador's departure to express her overwhelming appreciation for the money given. 

It would be recalled that Meurer has been with Big Church Foundation for over 3 years and has  travelled with the team to different states and beyond for events and programmes hosted by NGO owned by Nigeria's famous philanthropist, Dr. Olakunle Churchill.

A youth group, under the aegis of Igbo for Nigerian Movement, INM, has floated anti-Biafra campaign to unite people of Igbo extraction in order to reap maximum benefits from the peaceful co-existence of one United Nigeria.

IINM called on the entire Ndigbo to bury the idea of the struggle of the Republic of Biafra and embrace the new platform, INM for intellectual and strategic engagements that would enthrone equity, fairness and justice to every member of the Nigerian State.

Some groups, including the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, as well as the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, under the leadership of Uchenna Madu have been clamoring for the birth of Biafra.

According to them, Nigeria is a zoo and has succeeded in expunging them from the scheme of things in the nation.

However, the INM leader, Maxi Igwe Ifeanyi speaking alongside with his newly inaugurated Excos with our correspondent on Sunday, called on those supporting the return of Biafra to quickly swallow their word and work together for a united Nigeria in line with the vision of great nationalists like Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe.


Mazi Ifeanyi Igwe, the group's leader in his interview, insisted that Biafra was not the panacea to Igbos' problem, rather the beginning of more trouble for the land as the agitation has continue to sow the seed of suspicion for the average Igboman particularly in the political circle used by other ethnic groups as the key to other segment of our national life.

He said, "The ongoing clamour by some infertile-minded Igbo brethren for the secession of South east from Nigeria is a call to self-destruction, to say the least.

"It is obvious that those championing the movement for the return of Biafra were not born during the civil war and have no single idea of what Ndigbo went through during and after the war.

"We therefore call on those behind this movement to sheathe their sword and embrace a one and united Nigeria.

"Biafra is never the solution to our problem. In fact, it is the beginning of more problems for our already-troubled land.

"INM stands for the unity of Nigeria and urge those beating war drum to heed to the old Igbo adage that says, "ogwumagana agahi ogbanye ije ya maka na ohia n'ere oku (the chameleon does not change its movement because the bush is on fire.)" he added.

When writing the letter to the Senate. PMB quoted section 145 of the constitution which says

"145.- Acting president during temporary absence of president

(1) Whenever the President transmits to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives a written declaration that he is proceeding on vacation or that he is otherwise unable to discharge the functions of his office, untill he transmits to them in written declaration to the contrary, such functions shall be discharged by Vice-President as Acting President. "

Look at the heading of the section 145

" Acting president during temporary absence of president"

Its quite clear that VP osinbajo is Acting President..

And please recall that the presidency has said that he will sign the budget and swear in the two new ministers.
Those are functions of the president either acting or substantive.

You guys don't understand the point Mao Ohuabunwa was trying to make and I am with him on this. The letter is ambiguous and open to various interpretation.

Yes, we all know what the constitution says and in view of that, Osinbajo is the acting president. But look at it from this perspective: He may give an order or sign a law or budget and someone somewhere will go to court challenging him on the signed law insisting that he was not the acting president and lacked powers to sign such all in a bid to buy time. Please note that the person challenging this knows the outcome already but would want to buy time. He will seek interpretation from the lower courts, then appeal the judgement, and later head to the supreme courts with various court injunctions inbetween and before you say jack, 2 years has elapsed and the culprit is still free because while he is at the courts, all actions will be pending awaiting the court verdict.

This is the lacuna Mao is trying to bring to light. After Osinbajo signs the budget, someone somewhere will spend above the budget next year or next 2 years and when EFCC wades in, he will go to court to buy time, hinging his case on this same thing.

Do not forget that Ngozi Okonnjo Iweala was coordinating Minister under GEJ and we know theirs no powers attached to such portfolio.

The letter could have been innocently scripted, otherwise, it could have been crafted by some mischievous powers surrounding the presidency. But I think it's definitely good for women to be proud of and embrace their sexuality, however they define it for themselves. Be real and live in your truth. I'd rather someone judge me for my truth than for my lies. Stop with the pretense. If we accept our sexuality more, we could be looking at a positive change.
