What a poor country with Bad leaders ?

Oh lord where are we heading to ??

I guess people like you have practically forgotten this administration pledged to forgive and forget any of the charged politicians who's ready to forfeit the largesse and return stolen funds...... Since the presidency stated this clearly at the beginning of this tenure, therefore I see no reason for such comments as this! Afterall, the one and only charged corrupt official in the PDPs sixteen years rule; Bode George, still happens to be a resounding political force in that party. I'd like you to cite such examples of corrupt men who are actually steering the APC wheel and I'll STFU! Mind you, mentioning Tinubu or Amaechi would be rather lacking of substance, since both men are yet to be charged by a competent court of law.

And your own pain is that I'm putting APC in the bad books? Have I there absolved the PDP of any blame?

Yes Mister, you have honestly speaking. In the first place, I doubt it if you're in the right position to tell me about politics, haven read you over and over. You putting PDP in the same category with the APC is quite unfortunate to say the least.... PDP in professional terms has been a failure both in practical and theory! Else we wouldn't be in the mess we are today, it has also failed to help or contribute positivelyto the country's growth and development in the past four years, meaning its a failure both as an incumbent and as an opposition. Lastly, it has been able to create more problems than even the APC within the last four years, by hindering the effectiveness of good government policies sponsoring fake news, hate speechesand general hatred among the Nigerian people, all to defame its biggest opponent the APC and totally neglected its primary assignment of serving the people through its numerous political offices; deputy senate president, senators, reps governors etc, until towards the end of their tenures, whereas it was able to put the incumbent on its heels the whole four years, as if that would provide jobs for the average Nigerian or put food on their tables....... The APC on the other hand with its many flaws (which I wouldn't act blind to) played opposition differently, today its also playing its incumbent role better. All I can do is encourage them to try harder and perform better, thereby laying good foundation for growing political parties and showing the better example. With time we'll surely get there.

Bros use your no.6! I don't care about any political party except the ones in power. If they're tired of governing, let othrrs take over. The world is leaving Nigeria behind.

I can assure you brother, you're the one who isn't making use of his no 6! You know why? Because you don't care about any political parties, except the ones in power! By that it means you actually do not need a solution to this country's problems. Speaking exactly like a PDP head. In essence, you're trying to tell me that Nigeria cannot come up any candidates better than Buhari or Atiku, because their parties are the ones in power! You really do not wish for a healthy competition between our political parties, do you? I doubt if you also wish that these political parties would someday be relegated, giving space for well organised, coordinated and idealistic political parties who would be able to navigate the country properly and put us on the global map, not all of this APC, PDP crap. The reason I'm supporting APC over and above PDP is simply because Nigeria needs to be totally free from the fangs of those blood sucking demons.... Meanwhile, only the APC is fit and equipped for the job, at the completion of this mission, Nigeria would be handed over to the right set of people who are sophisticated enough to carry us along.

The problem a lot of Nigerians like you are making is that the world didn't just leave us behind today, its been decades and that's why we clamoured for a change in 2015...... Four years is definitely not enough for us to get ourselves back on fit and stagger on towards a better future, especially when we are still under the influence of the PDP like a spell!

Read your post again, it doesn't make any sense. Keep on fighting for politicians. Thank God we're all using the roads, so you're not immune to the issue at hand. Even if your father has helicopters, you can't take them everywhere every time.

You've not been outside this country, that's why you can spew all that bullocks. A road project with adequate funding, especially in a bustling ''mega city'' like Lagos will take only a few weeks to complete. Lagos is the smallest state in Nigeria and arguably the richest, but you don't know all these things, just APC vs. PDP. Hide your face!

Oga, its you who hasn't been making any sense at all! All you're trying to do is to put APC in the bad books and that's reason why my response to you looks like I'm defending the APC..... Back to the topic, the Op was comparing National projects with State projects and I tried to correct that, since all the nations mentioned above achieved those projects through a UN loan, mind you, World Bank and IMF have conditions in which they'd grant political entities loans, for which a state must secure the approval of its highest level of government before it can be granted a loan. Now tell me about how Lagos state has been funding its projects in comparison to how the above mentioned countries did theirs and show us how related both are before we can buy your story.

That's the point. If one is a good political observer you can read certain signs. If not 100% at least 70% and know that structures that used to be have been shifted and realigned elsewhere .

The PDP we used to know is no more and right now APC is like a Behemoth very difficult to dislodge.

It happened faster than PDP envisaged and caught many unawares.

Why is it now that some of the once silent PDP supporters have begun finding their voices?

Yes man, PDP could be a dangerous camp especially when it comes to taking sides, reason why it has always recorded last minute defectors, who along with defecting might also need to find themselves maximum security or face the wrath of these party's bosses.

I don't expect you guys to come and start taking sides with PMB and his failed administration, yes there is no doubt that PDP ought to have done more than it did and yes there was a lot of corruption cases here and there, but you can not compare it to a government that promised to change the way things were done in the past, a change from the PDP ways of doing things, but instead it is doing same and Even worse than PDP, do you really want me to highlight all corruption cases in this present government of top ranking government officials in just 3 years and you want them to continue it's either you are benefitting one way or the other, because if you are not then you should be asking for a change.

We the younger generation should not si and allow these men toy with our future, these issues are more then just PDP and APC, APC or PMB had failed it's glaring for all to see, you can not be using PDP failed administration has a yardstick for your success, that's is why they have not done anything but complete only project that PDP started and almost completed which they have paid for, so you will ask yourself all the budget was for what.

My friend I have to go work Nigeria matter tire me

People like you support the "trial" of Atiku who spent twelve years roaming around the corridors of power only to acquire ill wealth and privileges of public office, yet you can't stand Buhari's failure of four years and receiving 50% his allowances, then you must be a joker! Mind you, I do acknowledge the failures of this present administration but I do it differently from you, I don't blame Buhari, instead I blame the cause of such failures which obviously isn't Buhari, and for you not to realise this, then its glare you're either an incorrigibly corrupt individual who benefitted largely from the status quo or you just need to be schooled all over again.... Since you have failed to realise that an incumbent of sixteen years would definitely affect the society more and enjoy more influence over the different government institutions (which are funnily of their own making) than the one of just four years, therefore it suffices to say that it suffices to say that the lapses and failures of these government institutions could be blamed to a large extent on:
1.) The traditional workings of these institutions since inception in '99 or as applicable.
2.) The loyalty of the heads of such institutions, including its working structures and stakeholders.
3.) The extent of influence over these institutions by either those who were in power for four years, or the ones who were there for sixteen years.
4.) And lastly, the Nigerian factor; How much can be thrown around to achieve or not to achieve government policies....
Its as simple as A,B,C..... analysing politics but its dirty, confusing and life-threatening nature in Nigeria has given a different dimension to it.

So you're saying 4 years is not enough to do good roads? Maybe you use a helicopter...

Hahaha, roads of how many kilometres brother, problem of how many years?
If you're a Christian then I shouldn't bother trying to explain how long it took a whole God to right the "less-than-one-minutes" wrongs of Adam and Eve... By the way among those screaming the four-year taggline are those who had the privilege of ruling for sixteen good years and opposing for four years, yet they can't point at something tangible they've achieved in the twenty years..... If APC had opposed this way, they wouldn't have smelled second party..... That same part APC towed should be towed by any other political arrangement; delivery of free education to the masses, delivery of good road networks and beautification, these are APC ideologies that have come to stay, and these fundamentals have been responsible for the party's success. How about the PDP, what policies and ideologies have they been able to establish or identify with since inception and claims to be Africa's largest political party? In addition, if today I discover a fresh party that has focus and can make its unpopular self popular with "hardwork" and not scam, honestly I'll join and expend all of my resources in making it work!

If you call that being learned then I'll preferably reject it!
Leaving a mark doesn't entail vying for public office, voting for the right candidate is the way we all can leave a mark. Nigerians would never forget PDP's sixteen years rule, but something Nigerians won't forget even more is the fact that they were booted out in 2015......
Those who believe posterity will judge some for voting in Buhari for second term must be either foolish, myopic or have decided to be so for selfish reasons.... Instead, posterity will judge them, today some see Ojukwu as a warlord, others see him as being selfish and greedy, and how about Gowon on the other hand, his relevance diminishes by the day, some see him as selfish while others believe he was over ambitious...... Today, we are yet to get over what seemed to be the sole making of these two; The Civil War.

Mind you, the foreign currency earned on fuel deals are actually brought in by humans who keep records, they know how much crude oil exported by Nigeria, they paid and know exactly how much you make. Its reasons why the international community went against Jonathan! If any at all, trust me the same international community would have nailed Buhari, less you forget, Buhari's adversaries like Atiku and Obasanjo have got more international relevance than Buhari, nailing him internationally should be one of their simplest assignments.

The level of mediocrity being bandied about in Nigeria is so irritating, disturbing and alarming. Lagosians are supposed to be largely enlightened yet they accept the kind of strangle-hold Tinubu has over the years used to keep Lagos on its knees thereby turning it into a giant with clay feet!! The kind of suffering residents of Lagos pass through everyday in trying to get by is so heartbreaking and traffic jams and accommodation crises alone constitute the biggest problem and misery people face in the city and the light rail project would have gone a long way in solving this issue because a significant percentage of those driving their cars into the roads as early as 4am would reduce as more people use the light rail for transit and many too won't mind leaving the city centre for suburbs since they can easily get to work through the light rail. Regardless of how important this project is to Lagos and it's people yet Tinubu through his puppets in Alausa has continued to enrich themselves at the expense of the citizens. Even Lagosians have accepted the mediocrity being thrown at them and even go ahead to celebrate them! The other time, an ordinary busstop was constructed and it suddenly became such a great feat that is being celebrated till today!! What many fail to understand is that Lagos was a former Federal capital for donkey years and the colonial masters in all the colonies concentrated developed in the capitals and try to bring it at par to what they have in their own countries. Irrespective of the fact that the capital was moved to Abuja, at least the foundation has already been created which subsequent state governments ought to build upon but instead of doing that the successive mediocre governors of Lagos keeps comparing the little they do to other states in Nigeria and be feeling funky while embezzling the monies that should go for development. Take a look at the peers of Lagos like Nairobi,Cairo, J'bourg, Abidjan etc and tell me if any of them is as chaotic and unlivable like Lagos. You can even mistake some of these African cities for Europe while Lagos continue to compare itself with Ibadan, Onitsha, Aba and Kano and afterwards feel like it's doing fine. A recent UN report stated that Lagos is the third most unlivable city in the world after war torn Damascus and the governor/authorities wasn't irritated.
Please sir, while you misinform, do so with sense! I'm sure you don't know that:
1.) Only V.I, Ikoyi, Yaba, and parts of Surulere and Apapa formed the parts of Lagos which was once Nigeria's capital.
2.) At a point in Obasanjo's eight years rule, Lagos was denied federal allocation for four years, yet it stood and survived.
3.) There are far more better and developed areas in today's Lagos, compared to the parts that formed the country's former capital.
4.) The caricature political and economic structure institutionalised in 1999 by the founding fathers of PDP (the likes of Abdulsalam, IBB, Theophilus Danjuma, etc) will continue to haunt Lagos and other parts of the country(reason why the issue is national).
5.) Except the names mentioned in No. 4 above don't continue to reflect on FORBES, etc, our problems will remain unsolved.

FYI, Tinubu is only a smart opportunist who was able to make it by taking advantage of public office, government policies and the Nigerian situation. He didn't loot the treasury like your heroes, they aren't even smart enough to make use of government policies, more reason why Dangote took good advantage of their myopic selves.... Or did Adenuga, Dangote and Otedola steal public funds? Absolutely no.

RealTrump:
1. Lagos is nothing but a overhyped dustbin.
2. The Government prefer to build more BRT lanes from Ikeja to Able Egba instead of trains or trams. Have u ever asked who owns all the BRTs in Lagos?
3. Lagos (n Nigeria by extension) will eventually get better, but some people will have to first die. I try to think of a solution but non comes to mind.

To d OP, if they speed-up the construction of trains n they become widely accessible, who will use the BRTs? The answer to this little puzzle lies in question 2.

Those trains will never be ready in the next 5 years, enjoy the BRT.

There's a larger image to the picture you're trying to portray.... If there had been a viable active opposition during the APC years in Lagos, I'm sure today it would have been a different story. But the next powerful faction has been useless!!!The PDP of course, today its getting better in the center because APC actually worked its opposition years...... Have you asked yourself why the country seems worse in the last four years? Answer shouldn't be farfetched, its because the opposition has been useless these past four years! How do we know this? Only recently did Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta states start with infrastructural developments, yet they've not been as competitive as the APC in opposition, I felt PDP was ready to give APC the final run, reason why its conceded to defeat in 2015 but four years gone, I can't but conclude with the popular saying, "a leopard can never change its spots" meanwhile I'll advise and encourage Nigerians to retain APC until we find a better, promising replacement......

AutoReportNG:
Nigeria with a population of 180 million people with diverse tongues, cultures, and languages. Nigeria is blessed with intelligent, smart, mobile and creative people, this can be seen all over the world as in the case of research, analysis, medicine, peacekeeping, we are a force to reckon with. As good as this attributes are to us, we seem to lag behind in terms of growth, and what it takes to keep up. Its no doubt that the government as an institution is trying its best for growth and also by creating a conducive atmosphere for investors to invest in. One of this the Lagos Blue Rail Transit.

The Lagos Rail Mass Transit is an urban rail system being developed and under construction in Lagos. The system is being managed by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and is envisioned to consist eventually of seven lines. The railway equipment including electric power, signalling, rolling stock, and fare collection equipment will be provided by the private sector under a Concession Contract. LAMATA is responsible for policy direction, regulation, and infrastructure for the network.

The first section of the network, Phase I of the Blue Line, was originally planned to be completed in 2011. After many delays caused by funding shortfalls, the opening date was revised to 2018 but just recently, the Lagos state government has said the project will now be completed by 2022 so technically, The Lagos Rail Mass Transit will take 19 years to complete. According to reports from Lagos state government, a total of $600million has been spent so far and still counting now that the contract has been awarded to Alstom SA of France.

These are lists of African countries that started and completed their Light Rail Mass Transit after Lagos began its construction and they have completed it.

1. Ethiopia

Addis Ababa Light Rail is a light rail transportation system in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. A 17-kilometre (11 mi) line running from the city centre to industrial areas in the south of the city opened on 20 September 2015, inaugurated by Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn. Service began on 9 November 2015 for the second line (west-east). The total length of both lines is 31.6 kilometres (19.6 mi), with 39 stations. Trains are expected to be able to reach maximum speeds of 70 km/h (43 mph).

The railway was contracted by the China Railway Group Limited. The Ethiopian Railways Corporation began construction of the double track electrified light rail transit project in December 2011 after securing funds from the Export-Import Bank of China.[10] Trial operations were begun on 1 February 2015, with several months of testing following that. It is operated by the Shenzhen Metro Group.

The final cost to build the railway was US$475m, with construction taking three years. The Addis Ababa Light Rail was originally to have a total of 41 stations on its two lines, and each train was planned to have a capacity to carry 286 passengers. This will enable the light rail transit to provide a transportation service to 15,000 passengers per hour per direction (PPHPD) and 60,000 in all four directions. The railway lines have their own dedicated power grid.

According to CREC, the system carried on average 113,500 daily passengers in January 2016 with 153,000 passengers as highest passenger load during a single day. Service frequency was 10 minutes during peak hours on both lines and 20 minutes during off-peak hours. On average there were 94 train rotations on the Blue line (3,177.2 vehicle-kilometer) and 93 rotations on the Green line (3,236.4 vehicle-kilometer).

Algeria

Alstom-manufactured Citadis trams have started commercial operations at Sidi Bel Abbes, a city located in the north-western part of Algeria.

The Government of Algeria's Minister of Transport and Public Works Abdelghani Zaalane inaugurated the new services in the presence of other officials.

Alstom was originally contracted to deliver 30 Citadis trams in December 2013.

Alstom Algeria president Henri Bussery said: “With Sidi Bel Abbes, we are pursuing our partnership with Algeria to provide its inhabitants with the most environmentally friendly, comfortable transport system in existence: the tram.

“To date, the cities of Algeria have ordered 128 Citadis tram units to meet the mobility needs of passengers.”

The trams will operate on a line measuring 14.3km and are capable of carrying 302 passengers.

The 44m-long Citadis trams feature seven modules, low floors, and 12 side doors to ensure comfortable passenger movement, even for commuters with reduced mobility.

Sorry but I just have to conclude this report is shallow and to a large extent has got bias traits, how can you compare country projects with state powered projects? You'd have just used a failed "Federal Government" light rail project of which they are numerous, instead of trying to compare country sponsored projects with state sponsored projects because a country's state definitely differs from that of a state which operates under another nation.... I discovered in this article that you won't criticise "Federal Government" failed light rail project and the reason is simple; your target is APC and you're not concerned about comparing failed projects and policies in Nigeria with that of its other African counterparts.... You don't want to analyse the gores in PDP rulership, you don't want us to know them and thereby you don't want to earn for PDP, a bad name but wish to tarnish that of APC, a round of applause to your smartness........

3 years ago I warned Nigeria about the backwardness of the APC top dogs. I spent hours bringing to N/L and Facebook the progress Nigeria was heading in, not PDP, APC, NPC, APGA, but Nigeria and Nigerians. Imagine in 2 years over 200 Chineses companies came to Nigeria and opened a company.

It took about 1.5 years to get OBJ off GEJ's back it took another year to try an figure out we have to make our own weapons because the whole world including the United States refused to help us fight Boko Harem, they took our millions in South Africa and gave it back to Buhari. Where is that money Buhari got back from SA by the way? Clinton even refused to call them a terrorist organization, USA was hating on Nigerians progress and used puppets like Tinubu who was let out of jail to come and join the raping of Nigeria's economy.

You were warned by me and others that Buhari went to War College in Virginia when it was set up to be a school of assassins and economic hitmen. APC supporters like Berem said it will help him take down BH in 3 months. Not only did he not stop them but two smaller terror groups blew up and started killing Nigerians in the North and Middle Belt. Now 3 years later, more people have died than GEJ's 5 years, the infrastructure has not been maintained.
The only thing maintained in Nigeria the last 3 years is Buhari in the London hospitals.

We need a whole new leadership, we don't need APC or PDP anymore. Those old warlords have failed us completely we have to really go for a change this time not change of party. We have to take another chance and vote in a non- politician non-government woman /man into office.

Reading through your comments has made me conclude you are like the multitude of Nigerians, you really don't know where and what your problem is....

This is deep....so I hopped on twitter and checked out Paris peace forum's verified account and scrolled for a long time and could not find single info about our president giving a speech nor a pic of him. Only info I found was a certain Johann posting a pic of him being welcomed by fayemi and others. In my opinion, the OP has stated valid points so far...i just pray we have not been hoodwinked and being governed by a doppelganger. Pls others can search the conference on twitter cos am forcing myself to believe I missed something.

Oga, when did Twitter become a news site where you can get reliable information, or when did it become UN's official site where you can find every possible information about them? I know Nigerians are incorrigible but the idea of getting verifiable information from social media pages can be as dumb as Bleep! How many UN workers are responsible for the information you see on their twitter page, whereas I'm sure over ten developers, managers etc would be standby on their official website, updating etc..... Yet you expect the two to have the same level of contents I believe or you think all UN activities, information and records should be on twitter and up to date? Then you really need to fix yourself!
