Igboid: You know the stories of Idu n'oba was rife in Igboland. The Europeans made Bini popular and everyone wanted to be part of that popularity. Olauda trying to add Bini flavor to his Isseke history tells you all you need to know about Ikwerre, Etche, Ogba, etc Bini origin stories.
People were trying too hard to be seen to be attached to Bini and so crafted irrational Bini fantasy stories. And he ended up turning himself to a laughing stock. Even his official portrait is now under dispute that it is of another man. The man was not smart or truthful to himself. He ended up wasting years of his slavery. Being the first slave to document about his life would have added a boast to his work if he wrote the truth but look at him, a disgrace of a writer. |

ariesbull: There is nothing to research... Watch the video
Or dont you have data
Equano even said that they don't kill pythons and till date iseke people just new miles from Niger River don't kill pythons
Ashaka people don't even kill python they eat it
And Esseke and Ashaka arant the same... The vowels are there There is a reason why Equiano's work is never used as reference to any serious Historical work. The dude did not only confuse himself but anybody that will read it. As a young scientist, I remember being warned to never manipulate but show the results the way they are even if they go against all the previous experiments by renowned scientists. The reason for the warning is so that when later scientists will reassess that your research, it will be better for them to descover that your error (if there was any) was caused by faulty samples, equipment or bad working conditions than to find out that you manipulated because it will ruin your reputation. Except historians later find out a town that has Bini influence in Igboland that suits the guys narrative, his work is a shame to Behold. It reeks of manipulation to sound good. Even his picture has been discovered or is disputed to be another man's own. Olaudah Equiano messed up big time. |

Igboid: Lol! Ikwerres say Igbos are thieves who want their land and oil, therefore, Ikwerres are not Igbo speakers, they are Ijaw.
That's the logic the Ijaw man is presenting to show that Bonny is Ijaw. Exactly. This is the most appropriate example. Alabo7978 and GreatBoss, you see that? Somebody did not call your name but talked about what he hates about his kin and carried your pirate ass from the swamp to attach to him. No be juju be that? |

Igboid: I tire! Even an Onitsha man would tell you that "Igbos are money conscious" does that now make Onitsha Ijaw people?
Igbere people (Orji uzor Kalu home town in Abia) was actually named "Igbo-ere" meaning "Igbos cannot sell us". This was in reference to Aro and her mercenaries attempt to ransack the town and sell them off as slaves. They successfully repelled Aro assault and named themselves "Igbos cannot sell us". Igbos in this sense referring to Arochukwu. Does it mean that Igbere people were Ijaws because they called others Igbos?
Dude is just clutching at straws. Igbo speaking people/clans called each other Igbo in the past, it doesn't mean they themselves were not speaking a language one would call IGBO today. The thing tire me oh. I wonder the kind of IQ most of these Ijaw people have. Imagine using what someone said about his family to instigate that he is no longer part of the family but yours (an alien he never mentioned of) No matter the prejudice some people from Bonny at that time have against the larger igbo family, they never for once said that they are IJAWAlabo7978, GreatBoss and the other pirates, can you people show us one place the people of Bonny were called or self identified as Ijaw prior to 1970 (after the war) |

Alabo7978: Fool, I'm not screenshoting, you just skimmed through it. He mentioned the igbos were good at industry and trading and because they moved about, their languages became spoken in the other coastal tribe. He also said the ibos there are were slaves who were not born there or at atleast ibos brought FROM THE HINTERLANDS. He also said the Bonny language was the mother tongue. They call Igbo land igbinni which was filled with great forests and mighty trees, rich in crops like maize, rice, palm oil, elephants. He also said the Bonny canoes navigate up the river to go and buy these things as provisions for the coastal inhabitants who don't grow all of these. (Even my grandmother in the 1930's - 60's was well known in my community, she takes her trading canoe and Moore in up to ndele to sell crafish and periwinkles and other sea foods, then she use the money to buy garri, ugu leaves, palm oil, maize etc to come and sell in our ama) They also say they are warlike and rapacious and wild. And the Bonny man will say 'iboman Wawa too much" Translating to iboman is very wicked.
You can't read, so you subjected me to stress myself to pick out what your eyes should have caught. You're a fool for stressing me. And where is the word "Ijaw" in all these? |

Alabo7978: Lol, parrot. You just mentioned the true story on why Igbo became a second language. I am carefully going to trash the bolded. YOU SAID and I quote; "Asimini was the first true King of Bonny and reformed Bonny house system from an INDIGENOUS BLOOD KINDRED SYSTEM into a military system called Wari" INDIGENOUS BLOOD KINDRED SYSTEM did you get that word? Now let me ask you, about the military system called "Wari" Wari means house, an ijoh dialect used mostly by even my own clan "Nembe" When we want to enter someone's house, we say Wari'o And the house owner will say "suo'o" Do you now see how you shot yourself in the leg? Bkayy,Igboid, biafrarep please what is the meaning of Wari? Why did Asimini used an "indigenous military system"? And why is it called INDIGENOUS BLOOD KINDRED system? does the igbos use war canoe housing name? Please Igboid, biafrarep, Ekealterego SlayerForever what are your war canoe house name? Ditaridesciple2, come and see how I'll smoke out this clowns. Y'all will have to answer this question or no further engagement.
Secondly YOU SAID; and I quote "It was Asimini who began the idea of using slaves to fight in battle with freeborns. He was the first to free slaves who proved themselves worthy in battle and gave them a war canoe house of theirs" Have you now seen why SOME IBO SLAVES were given citizenship in Bonny? Does mbanaso okwarazurumba (chief Jubo jubogha) come to your mind? If only he knew those he set free will do this to him by trying to twist his ancestry and his "indigenous blood Wari(housing) system" he wouldn't have made such mistake.
And finally you mentioned ndoki, yes I agree. I once told y'all clowns how Asimini wedded Kambasa to an ndoki man to Foster trade, Kambasa returned left her husband after her father's death, took an ibani lover upon her return, and Ekealterego and biafrarep called it story. If you don't trash this out, no further convo. I will turn this into a thread using how you shot yourself on the foot with the quoted write up like Ekealterego released that beautiful document. Don't stress yourself. Eastlink have already told you that the thread is coming. Sit tight and wait. When it is created, you will be invited to be educated like we have done to you people here. This is another person again in the 1800s, compare it to how Igbos were described in the same century by Johnston. How they jumped from being a notorious savage race know everywhere including Bonny and Brass to become the indigenes of Bonny and Brass is a wonder to the world. BTW, Mr 9Pluto correct that superimposition of the name Ijaw on Brass. There was no place in history where they referred to Brass as Ijaw. If you want to write brass, you do so. |

Why not upload the dutch documents let us see.
You cannot even read a simple map or even interpret English texts, now you understood what is in Dutch texts? There is an Igbo adage that goes this way "onye isi nkwọcha anaghị aga ọgụ okwute" If these young Ijaw children know ask questions, they wouldn't partake in anything that has to do with bringing out documented history of Southern Nigeria because they have no stake in any part of it. It will only expose them for the Aliens they are. |

Eastlink: @OP please make corrections to the bolded. I just went through it and saw the mistake. The two Chiefs in that shared power then were Asimini & Halliday. I’ll keep time to post a link here. It's actually a detailed history written by an English historian that will blow your minds away.
The topics covered were the following.
Kingship system. Bonny practiced gentocracy - Okpara system where elders led the people. It was the British who introduced Kingship system in Bonny. This brought rivalry between houses and two leading figures began their rivalry from there. Chief Haliday vs Chief Asimini. Haliday was senior and was calm in disposition. Asimini on the other hand was rash and dictatorial.
Haliday began the systemic rise of Bonny who dwelled on salt trading and farm goods with Ndoki in the Imo river into deal in stuffs like slavery. However, during these period Bonny was at war with her neighbours like Kalabari and Andoni. They needed a strong leader and by virtue of his military might Asmini led victorious battles against Andoni and Kalabari.
On returning to Bonny he took power from Haliday and exiled him. It took the intervention of the British who appealed to Asimini to relax the banishment and bring him back home.
Asimini was the first true King of Bonny and reformed Bonny house system from an indigenous blood kindred system into a military system called Wari. I think that should be in another thread. A thread created to explain how Bonny current monarchy came about and also the confusion of the name "Amayanabo" Such beautiful topic shouldn't be hidden in between a long thread like this because it explains the origin of this insanity. |

Let's assume you and I are close friends, and I have a question won't you answer........
Have you met any Ibo man from Opobo or Bonny, ?? I mean someone who can beat his chest and say he is an Ibo man from bonny or Opobo. Is it too difficult to answer.
I dey wait for the answer like this ooooo If we haven't met any, we wouldn't be wasting our time here. You are speaking on the basis of the 100 hungry people that fell sober after drinking in INC/IYC pub but we are speaking on the authority of indigenes that don't have means for others to hear their plight. So you see.. That is the difference between us and you people. As for the definition of a nation it is "a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular country or territory"With this definition, can you discuss with someone from Bonny without using English language (normal or Pidgin)? No But can I with Igbo? Yes. Another self explanatory difference. |
