ChinenyeN: No, this would be incorrect. It's actually well established that the Amanyanabo system in Bonny comes from Kalabari. Okrika and Bonny adopted the Amanyanabo system by the 17th century. It is an Ijaw expression, not Igbo. Did you miss the part of Pepple and Holiday serving as Kings to Bonny at the same time? |

I love Igbo way of life. If you see something, say something and fight it not throwing blames or looking for another group to blame like those watching Miners and Sons ritual limited Afonja branch, mining and harvesting them for fun
What those in the waste are waiting for is the day they will see non yoruba name among the workers of Miners and Sons ritual limited so that they can blame the ethnic group of that one forever. |

9Pluto, please for historical accuracy, I think you should correct that superimposition of the name "Ijaw" on "Brass" in the writeup because like Abua, Brass is not actually Ijaw but were the first to key into the post Eastern region anti-Igbo, political means of identification courtesy of Alagoa who is a native of Brass. One can't tell if they will last long in the Ijaw umbrella especially now that every former member of the group are pulling out or making their identity obvious in any way they can like Boma of BBNaija exposing his people's (Okrika) view/identity in the porn show.
So, try and correct it let's know what we are working on. Just use Brass as it should be. Thank you |

Please, if there are board of Trustees, Executives, Organisers or VIP's in this thread, you people should try as much as possible not to use style to throw shades at the Igbo nation. Oga I wish you have traveled around 9ja. Celebrities marry igbos bcus of beauty. That's y u hear people marrying Igbo bcuz it celebrity n it's on internet. Poor igbos especially imo n Abia guys Mary outside Igbo. Please go to hos n Kaduna u will see many of ur brothers there with north central women. Even Adamawa n taraba. Go to Lagos n Ogun. Baba take it or leave it Igbo gals hardly get married especially imo ladies. If u go any ashawo house for 9ja u no see Igbo lady abeg come back hear insult me. The same reason you people are doing all these things is to make it easier for you to enjoy what your celebrities hustle all their lives for. You seriously wish that someone that have river at his back yard will decide to wash his hands with spittle? Like, someone will be Igbo and go and marry Northern lanky looking ladies that their own men dished to die on Igbo matter? Its like saying that someone that has Hilux will decide to be carried in a wheelbarrow. You people are just funny. For a people that gets the most attention like Igbo ladies, a reasonable person will know that prostitution won't be an option because an average Igbo lady can get any none Igbo man that she wants. The only people that can choose between Igbo women is the men. For you guys, the worst among Igbo women is the best you can ever get among your own women |

vickydevoka: Let me tell you something, Igbo women must do prostitution bcus most of dem especially from imo state don't get married due to high bride price n men's delay in marriage n if de make it, de will go for a younger ones n abandon de older ones. Most of them get fustrated, n are mocked at home. Some de will leave home n go far to prostitute to make a living n stay away from embarrassment For you to have this kind of well detailed knowledge shows that you are talking about your own women not Igbo. Have you seen any Igbo man complain of the "high" bride price you are talking about before? Only Yoruba rats do that because they want to marry the most sought after women in the world, which is Igbo Angelic Ladies but they want it to be the same price with their lower class women that worth close to nothing. They are just like poor people dreaming of gold carriage. All these lies about prostitution, whatever you people make up these days is to kill their ego so that they might start taking you foreigners opinion probably with a pinch salt but one thing you people don't know is that Igbo women don't care, and both the men and women rarely marry outside the nationBTW, I wonder where you get this your high rate of unmarried Igbo women from when every thing with penis in Nigeria wants to marry an Igbo woman. You want to marry an Igbo woman, Yoruba want to marry and Igbo woman, Ijaw want to marry an Igbo woman, Hausa sef want, every human that have penis in Nigeria want Igbo woman as wife and it is extremely rare for the men (Igbo men) to marry outside so where did you get this "High rate of unmarried Igbo women from?" is it one of your scope to beat the competition on the highly limited chance you non-Igbo have and get one? One rare thing in an Igbo family is to have a lady living alone in the name of work. It is either she is schooling or working from either the father or relatives house. |

Plantiff: I have stated it clearly that control of the sea has nothing to do with the landmass of a country because it is measured from the baseline of a country.
Nigeria's Territorial Sea and Exclusive Economic Zone is measured from Akwa Ibom for instance. If Akwa Ibom is no longer part of Nigeria, it will still be measured from Akwa Ibom and the distance cannot change except something natural happens and the sea washes deeper into the land.
Territorial Sea is 12 nautical miles from the baseline. The Territorial Sea is seen as the extension of a country. A country can prevent a ship from passing through its Territorial Sea.
Exclusive Economic Zone is 200 nautical miles from the baseline. A country can fish, perform research, mine natural resources and minerals within its Exclusive Economic Zone but cannot stop another country from doing so "if the other country's EEZ falls within their own EEZ too"
We're saying the same thing. scholes0: EEZ is not based on the size of your country. It is based on the portion of your land which are littoral or bordered by a continental oceanic shelf, and are not close enough to any other land belonging to another country. Otherwise, the EEZ delineation will have to go halfway between both countries. Take a look at the pic below. The EEZ of Equatorial Guinea is in red, and as you can probably tell by now Islands do help a lot.... Why? because they are completely surrounded by water, and as such can claim the EEZ in a 360 degree direction all around. You can also clearly see why the Ghanaian EEZ is larger. there are no islands belonging to other countries off the Ghanaian coast.
Yes, we are all saying the same thing. The landmass of a country does not contribute to the EEZ of the country so the Northern Governor or minister that said that rubbish that Offshore oil rigs is because of Northern landmass proved his ignorance in things like that. Northern landmass has absolutely nothing to do with Nigerias EEZ, territorial waters and the rest. |
Politics › Re: Which Nigerdelta Tribe Has The Most Oil And Gas Deposit In Nigeria? by BKayy: 12:59pm On Nov 27, 2021 |
Plantiff: The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) governs how International water bodies are used by the 193 Member States of the United Nations.
Article 57 of UNCLOS which provides for the "Breadth of the exclusive economic zone" States that "the exclusive economic zone shall not extend beyond 200 nautical miles from the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured."
Article 3 of UNCLOS which provides for the "Breadth of the Territorial Sea" States that "Every State has the right to establish the breadth of its territorial sea up to a limit not exceeding 12 nautical miles, measured from baselines determined in accordance with this Convention."
Article 6 of UNCLOS provides for the Baseline in the following words:
"Except where otherwise provided in this Convention, the normal baseline for measuring the breadth of the territorial sea is the low-water line along the coast as marked on large-scale charts officially recognized by the coastal State."
From the above, it can be deduced that natural oil reserves in the sea that Nigeria has access to falls within the Exclusive Economic Zone of Nigeria. The Exclusive Economic Zone of Nigeria is 200 nautical miles from the baseline of Nigeria. The baseline in this case is measured from Akwa Ibom because it is where Nigeria meets the Sea.
If Akwa Ibom was separated from Nigeria, the measurement of the Exclusive Economic Zone wouldn't change and the distance would still be 200 nautical miles.
The Exclusive Economic Zone has nothing to do with the landmass of a country but the distance from its baseline.
It is Akwa Ibom and other Southern States bounded by the sea that makes Nigeria a Coastal State in the First place. When Eastern Region broke off from Nigeria, the territorial waters and EEZ didn't change. They maintained it. Besides, Ghana, Angola, Namibia, Equatorial Guinea and the rest have more EEZ than Nigeria despite having lesser land mass than Nigeria |
Politics › Re: Which Nigerdelta Tribe Has The Most Oil And Gas Deposit In Nigeria? by BKayy: 12:56pm On Nov 27, 2021 |
scholes0: This is just territorial waters not Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)
Nigeria can apply for an extension of its territorial waters if it so wishes. Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Angola etc in Africa has more EEZ than Nigeria. Remember that Equatorial Guinea is 28,00km2 which is less than Akwa Ibom + Cross Rivers (27,000km2) Equatorial Guinea EEZ= 303,509 km2 Nigeria EEZ = 217,313 km2cc Igboid and Hammer567 |

hammer567: Precisely why Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB welcome Benue, Kogi, parts of Taraba into Biafra. Igboid: But there is a factor people are not considering regarding the offshore fields.
NIGERIA only have claim to these fields because of our landmass that the North contribute the bulk of. As you level of claim to intercontinental waters I learnt is determined by your landmass. If there is disintegration of NIGERIA, Akwaibom might not have enough landmass to claim those oil Wells from other smaller countries in the region like Cameroon, Gabon, Equitorial Guinea, etc.
What do you think about this? NO, the Aboki is wrong. Land mass has zero effect in Territorial waters and EEZ. Benin Republic has more sea claim than Nigeria and if I can remember very well, Benin Republic is not up to half of Nigeria in land mass. Nigeria's territorial sea claim is: 12nm While Benin Republic Sea claim is: 200nm Even small Togo is: 30nm Coming to EEZ, Ghana, Namibia, Angola and Equatorial Guinea for example in Africa have more EEZ than Nigeria despite having smaller land mass. Lets take Equatorial Guinea for example, Equatorial Guinea EEZ= 303,509 km2 Nigeria EEZ = 217,313 km2In other words, Northern Nigeria is a full blooded Parasite |
