Buttom line, carbon dating is NOT accurate and should not be taken as the absolute answer . Simples!!
Lol I dont know how scientist publish their answers. Remember I already said I was using secondary school chemistry to explain. Ask the experts. Perhaps the potential errors were already factored into calculations. Possibly they published the lower limit of the range gotten from calculations. But saying their answers should not be taken as absolute is funny cos most science theories and inventions are not accurate (in the sense you're implying)
Why is ur generator having an average power rating and a maximum power rating. Does that mean generators shouldnt be taken seriously??

philip0906:

Good! The question then is, how and why should we take radiocarbon to be the absolute and finite answer when severally, radiocarbon dating accuracy, has been called to question?
Lol, I hope you asked this question with an open mind and not to argue.
Having said that, while I'm a science student (not the Olamide type, lol) I'm no expert on thus subject matter neither does my field relate to this but I'd try to use basic chemistry to explain the best way I can. I might not be really accurate
But with regards to how this carbon dating works, here's what I remember. There's something called half life. Most elements have a certain number of time for it to decay to half its size continually. Say like an hypothetical element P has a half life of 1 year. If there is 1000 P in a certain bag by this time by next year you'd meet just 500, by the year after just 250.
Now carbon has it's own half life (I think) which is very large (more than 1 year). Now,let's say its half life is 10yrs and on average a human bone contains 1000 of it. Since the body would stop functioning after death, if I see a corpse and check how many carbon is contained in its bones and it's just 500 I can safely say the corpse had been decaying for 10years.
But truth is not everyone has the same number of carbon. We would each have numbers different but close to the average that science specifies for each human being. While there is no way to surely know how many a particular corpse contains at the time of death, the average could be used and the time calculated would only be an estimate.
This is just the basic concept I can remember from secondary. Might not really be accurate but I believe is the general overview

Lol many people just throw in the world savant here. Truth is he doesn't have to be impaired in one way to be a savant. Orlando Serell and Daniel Tammet are both savant without obvious physical or mental impairment. Having said that, the guy might actually not be a savant. There exist only a handful of them and he would really hand to be tested to be certified one. For all we know he could be a genius or just a child prodigy. But this is sha brilliant. It's nice seeing this kind of pure art of brilliance from this side of the world
Education / Re: Why Do Science Students Always Score Higher Than Art Students In UTME? by BlackAce31(m): 10:11am On Mar 02, 2019
I am a science student and I scored pretty high on Jamb and I can say one of the major reasons it is this way is cos unlike popular opinions I believe science subjects are easier. It's easier to understand a few definitions, laws and theorems and not to mention to most serious science students calculations are bonus points and that's what Jamb thinks it's our disadvantage. That's y check the best science jamb scores have maths as their best scoring subject. For art students, it isn't so easy. Too many definitions, too many theorems, so much ambiguity which jamb plays on (that's y all options would most times look too similar). I took literature and government in SS1 so I know. I may have been good with both but I swear it's stressful. Those doing those things are trying

After sending u ur current best players (Aguero, Silva, Yaya and the rest) including the current best coach u still think the best player who outperformed all those players wouldn't thrive. Talk with brain bro. The only thing England can be respected for is the busy schedule. On any other normal day, Laliga teams would boss u like kids.

All form of payments in UNIBEN is done online except for sundry payments like faculty dues, departmental dues, etc.
I believe other good schools have this facility, let other members of this forum add to the list. I picked only the one I know.
OP if you're interested in coming a little bit up north, then FUTMinna is the place. It's the same with what this guy said. Everything online including registration and clearance. With the exception of departmental and faculty fees, the rest are done online

I thought something wasn't right with the speed at which the kids answer those questions within seconds, I do not know of any methodology that can make them answer such in seconds.
Either it is as explained by you or they had more time alloted than the 60seconds claimed, just to package the show to appeal and challenge audiences so they collapse the time.
The best academic show I had witnessed in my life is Bournvita Brain Match, no grey areas
False assumption. I've been there and I'd tell u its purely talent and hardwork. Most people who make it to that stage have had tons of practice.
Education / Re: 17-Year-Old Oludamilola Oluwada Accepted Into 19 Of The World’s Top Universities by BlackAce31(m): 9:51pm On Apr 07, 2018
There is a general application centre where they can apply to as many schools as they can although not all universities accept that (e.g MIT)
Moreover those top schools can be very selective so applying to just one is risky. I agree 20 is a little too much but it does increase ur chance of being admitted. Some apply to 7 top schools and still get rejected by all
parisbluefox:
What’s the point of applying to 19 schools? You only get to attend one at the end of the day. So why waste all that money on application fees?

So wait if mama is allowed to have the baby the wife's daughter would have a half-brother/sister who will happen to be her uncle/aunt. And the man's son/daughter will be his brother/sister in-law. The wife's step-son/daughter would be her half-brother/sister. Hmmm. Hold on, if the wife and her daughter share a common half-sibling doesn't it make the wife and her daughter siblings of some sort? and if they are mama's granddaughter becomes her daughter.
Ayam nor even understanding again

You have jumped to conclusions twice with me, you see how faulty your thinking process is? And this behavior is because you are one of the failed Nigerian men who depend on stereotypes to make their judgments.

If you don't know about a thing, it's best to keep shut, freeze doesn't know the forces behind the scene using him...of course a lot of people aren't Christians, their just church goers and were waiting for the likes of freeze to show their true colors

Again, Animalu Alex is by no means comparable to Okeke, Ayankoha etc in Nigeria, he is in the category of Rice in ETHZ Switzerland, Stephen Hawkin of Cambridge, witten, Susskind of Stanford. He is not a local champion with secondary texts, one of his book called elementary quantum theory of crystalline solids published in the sixties has India, Chinese, Russian versions and well referenced worldwide in any condensed matter (solid state) theory courses/text. He has been nominated for Nobel prize twice or more and the only Nigerian that can nominate people for Noble prize. He has been Prof. (functional not this Nigerian political Profs.) before joining UNN in 1975. I am his student presently.
