Couple of weeks back I was driving a customer's car to workshop, a Lexus ES 350 and I was to drive from aguda through Sanya bustop along mile 2 express. Coming out of Sanya bus stop you will burst out into a service lane before connecting to the highway.
Omo coming out they blocked the service lane due to construction and we were told to drive facing one way to connect the highway around coker, almost getting to the point of turning into the highway naso some wacko in plain clothe start to dey block all the cars turning into the highway say we passed one way. After dragging sha dem drive our cars to oshodi lastma office. Me just dey reason the guy make him no drive my car enter compound. He say na 100k him go collect last. After every dem drive am enter. I tried reasoning this guy he still dey form James bond.
I decided to fall back on the last resort by calling someone within the ranks and file to please follow dem reason only for me to understand say na bloody police cabash me enter lastma wahala. After enough back and forth, the lastma guy I called asked me to look for the GDO on duty within the compound and give him the phone, upon all dem no allow me see am or enter sef. Last last I cough out 50k to pay one lastma guy to release my car, after paying and collecting gate pass too, the guy asked for cars plate number I told him I don't have the idea say na customer car, the guy man come reason me like say e dey pity me. After giving me the car he asked me to park close to the gate that he will like to refund me some cash out of the 50k I dey tell dis man make him no worry. But he insist, after like few minutes like 6 of dem come out come dey ask me who owns the car blabla say dem go put the car on the lastma platform say I pass one way, in the process my phone rang and it was the lastma guy asking me how far, as I dey explain give the guy say na 50k I pay one of dem collect phone for my hand put am for speaker dey threaten the guy say I dey form say I know people say na dem seize the car.
The man just asked them to identify themselves say him na blabla so so... Naso the lastma guy among them just collect phone acknowledge the man identity, tell the other guys say na their Oga dey talk omo all of them just chill he spoke with him and told him say I pass one way and I don pay dem 50k to bail the car, even after explaining say na road construction make me pass the one way.
The left with phone to speak with the Oga privately after a few moment dey returned with my phone hand me my phone, the car key, and return hmmm cash k and asked me to call the man back and tell him dem return some cash and dem don release me. After that we come turn padi again, say make I no vex say e be as e be. Exchange number again.
In all everything is all about patience with these people most them don't even understand the laws or what is guiding it. It was there I understand that if your car stops or you even park somewhere that says no parking you still have grace of few minutes before they can ticket you but seriously no law is working in these part of the world.
Many things dey I no fit disclose here |

peacefulhome: Have been trying to get the logic to how a grown-up man will accept a car worth 4million under Hire -purchase. Every week he has to bring 40k or he would not be allowed to pick the car the following week. No matter the distance, he has to return the car to his partner location every blessed day. To crown it all, payment must be done every Friday . He drives the car Monday to Thursday, while his partner makes use of the car for personal needs every Friday. Imagine ? Friday of all day. Failure to remit 40k when expected means he dare not come around on Saturday to pick the car. Pls, with all this restrictions can the driver still meet up with out default? Same driver is to repairs and service the car when necessary. Some people are just heartless and wicked. I wish someone can deliver this man from this slavery contract he went and put himself. People are suffering in this country. Every week he had to borrow some cash to meet up with payment. Now I heard he want to get loan from one of this banks so as to pay up and get full ownership of the car. Hmm. God bless all the responsible men out there. You shall never labour in vain. Happy weekend my people. As funny this might sound. It is what it is |

pope191: Fleet nah fleet o
I don tire, today comes with everything good, bad & ugly. Took my worst trip on indriver today
Highlights : pick a rider from magodo to surulere, she had like 3 mins stop and pay 3500 at the end of the trip not even up to 1 hr. Hmmm
Pick another one from Penisular Gardens to Lekki county. I so need trip that I don't care about the price, I just want to leave the war zone. The girl acted up with time that I didn't even bother to return her greetings. Got to destination, she already knew she messed up. Told boy friend to transfer 3k instead of 2k. Immediately I go another VI 2800 around 4pm. Check map, 40mins... I didn't even bother to add anything, cos I was already thinking how to blow to VI, tot grace found me, not knowing my cane is waiting for me.
Got to Adeola Odeku and saw surulere 2000, I gave dem 2400, they accept. Rider says they want to carry 9 cartons of wine. I ask them to make everything 3k then, let's roll. Ha! Oga is company and its the receipt they will use to pay. I felt like all these company things, well today has been good, let me just find my way home. Embark on trip, got to Bonny, I still can't figure the devil that pushed me to face eko bridge, instead of the regular carter i use to follow. I hear em for eko bridge. 3 good hours rider self feel em, I just dey change em for them. Like I will turn back to pick up o, I don't think i can continue this. From 51 mins now 3hrs. He can't even say a word.
The bad: trip to deliver cloth 2400, got to destination, Aunty transfer 2200. Called her and told her that wasn't the right fare, she formed unaware. No wahala do my 200, I'll do it. After 4 hrs, I'm yet to see my 200, text aunty on whatsapp. She flipped, is 200 my problem blah blah. Ma, please send my 200, no energy for long talk. Saw 200 with photo
What a day! Wahala in oven community. Boss send me her number make I tell her one or two thinhs |

dru23: First thing first... E hailing is not something new . yellow cab and E hailing are basically the samething. The difference is technology , e hailing connects you easily to your customers ..... With yellow cab and E hailing you are putting in the same amount of hours driving ..... yellow cab has been around for years and years .. Yellow cab is a form of a hailing ....
The more and more I read on the forum. The more I understand the mind set of the rich and poor. I now understand why the rich are very tight with their money. It seems to me you guys don't have what it takes to be rich .. You don't understand the work and sacrifice it takes...
You guys complain about this and that... If u guys are willing to think outside the box . you will use. E hailing as a stepping stone to do other things......
Me for example have used e hailing as a stepping stone to go into other things. I will not get into specific details here. But my business objectives here are almost done. This is to the point that I have achieved my goals that I will be less and less active on nairaland. And e hailing has help me achieve those goals, whether I was driver or partner , e hailing has contributed to that success or has given me a path way..... It is now up to me to make the best out of it ....
All I read here from you guys are excuses that slows you down from seeing the bigger picture .. From reading from nairaland I have now learn to be tight with money and how I assist people .. Most of u guys what the easy way out without blood sweat and tears In all honesty I agree with you 1000000%, I can't imagine I left this forum and still check when tagged to see the same people are still at the same spot. This forum was my stepping stone which you all know, I have come across the great, humble, the rich and poor, the intelligent and the other part. As a business man I have evolved to a level of not just a mechanic but an all round business man, reading some stuffs here makes me wanna puke. To stay rich change the circle of people around you to people who challenge you to the best you can be. Not bragging or claiming veterans or giving excuses of why you will never move forward in life. Turn the excuses to the challenge you have to overcome. Set goals and make sure you get it. Role with people that are way above you in business or innovation and rub minds. Not with some packaged nitwit who runs you down with na Nigeria make me be like this. |

Pearl1910: Bishop my guy...I like u. But this nonsense post don drop my respect for u. I can travel abroad as single man anytime I want to. I will not need friends or family support to do that. Don't be so low in IQ to think that anybody that travels abroad is richer than people in Nigeria. Don't ever compare me with anybody again. When I said to Pope "ur work and my work no be mate" I meant the way I work and d way he works are completely different, therefore we will have different results. I didn't mean I am better than him or richer than him. U dont know me, what makes u think I am living in penury...oh because I am an Uber driver abi? Well, I will b foolish if I stereotype or rate people I know nothing about except for what they do for a living. Dr K , Dr Ben of Automedics, Gazzuzz and Radautos are all mechanics like you, Will it not be foolish of me to think they are like some smelling, unkept and poor road side mechanics that I used to see? If I yab u back now, u go cry then maybe use oshodi thugs to treathen me, not that I care o, but I rather remain civil. So my friend, everybody has his path in life, stop comparing people based on ur perception of success or what u can see physically.

TheRareGem1:
. You people still don't know history.
.*THE LIES THAT COME OUT OF THEIR LAZY MOUTHS*
By Mustapha Adekunle Ogunsakin
There's this religious victimization card played by some people that I found amusing. Rather than address issues on their merits, people like Kperoogi and the other chap in MURIC tend to play religious card that border on intellectual laziness. The recent attack on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo SAN is one of such. They accused Osinbajo of favoring Christians, particularly members of his church, RCCG. They also accused him (Osinbajo) of betraying their Muslim brother, Asiwaju Tinubu, forgetting conveniently that Senator Remi, Tinubu's wife is a Pastor of the same RCCG.
If both had bothered to do a little research on Osinbajo, if they had done their homework well on him, maybe they would have come out with more reasonable and believable criticisms.
All his life, Osinbajo has served Muslim bosses and he has never had any problem with any of them. Former Attorney General of the Federation, Bola Ajibola SAN, who he served as Special Adviser. Asiwaju Tinubu he served as Attorney General in Lagos, and President Buhari who he is serving presently as Vice President. Of all these three distinguished Statesmen, it is Tinubu they are accusing him of betraying.
They spew lies from the pit of hell! Obviously, both Kperoogi and the MURIC. guy do not know Yemi Osinbajo. Osinbajo's Chief of Staff, Ade Abdulrahman Ipaye is a practising and devout Muslim. Ipaye has been with him since 1999 when he served as Osinbajo's Special Assistant at the Lagos State Ministry of Justice. Ipaye later served as Special Adviser to the Governor under Fashola, and later as Attorney General. When Osinbajo became Vice President, he took Ipaye along as Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, serving in the office of Osinbajo. Ipaye is a student of Osinbajo and they have stayed loyal together for years!
Osinbajo' Private Secretary at the Ministry is one Mr Bakare is also a devout Muslim. He served Osinbajo for eight years. Osinbajo sponsored him to Hajj and also sponsored his University Education. Today, he holds a Bsc in Accounting. How then can he be a Muslim hater?
In 2005, President Olusegun Obasanjo invited Osinbajo to take appointment as the Attorney General of the Federation after Chief Akin Olujimi SAN left office. Obasanjo saw the sterling qualities and performance that Osinbajo had as AG Lagos. The President without informing Tinubu offered the post to Lagos AG. The first thing Osinbajo did was to inform his principal, Tinubu, who gave him a free hand to take his decision.
Osinbajo made a request to Obasanjo: "Release Lagos Council funds." Don't forget that as A.G Lagos, Osinbajo it was who filed cases against the FG for withholding Lagos Local Government funds after Tinubu created LCDAs. Obasanjo replied that Osinbajo should first take the appointment and then advise him as Attorney General of the Federation on the matter. Osinbajo went underground and for weeks, Obasanjo could no longer reach him. It was obvious to the President that Osinbajo deliberately avoided him. He went on to appoint Chief Bayo Ojo SAN as his AGF and Minister of Justice. Osinbajo rejected the position of AGF and Minister of Justice and stayed with Tinubu! Nobody complained then.
Osinbajo not only stood with Tinubu, he stayed loyal to Lagos State. He did not betray Tinubu then but now when it is convenient for them, some political and religious bigots are shouting betrayal! Everyone knows that if you want to hear the story of how your father met your mother, join politics. But if you must criticize Osinbajo, do so on valid facts! Not lazy, religious and political lies that reveal your foolishness and hatred for a man who is doing his best to make his country and people better. Don't forget we are dealing with indomie generation who knows nothing but galvanized in their myopic views |

Who is more AWOO between Osinbajo and Tinubu?
Comparing Tinubu with Awolowo is blasphemous. Bro awolowo was no saint, people never take time to understand the history between the 2. Akintola was a man honesty and awolowo was a man of greed that wants all for himself at the expense of whomever |
