While regional, religious and tribal squabbles are going on, the country is decaying badly.

Do the legislators know what we don't know? Do they know that the country is destined to fail soon and are therefore just grabbing as much as they can while they still have the chance?
I don't want to be a doomsday prophet but we need to look at these things critically. Being complacent and looking at things through tinted glasses can be dangerous. Biafra stands as a lesson. Sorry, we don't learn lessons in Nigeria.

I don't think lagos needs a new airport. The airport is quite underutlized right now. Heathrow has two runways just like MMIA. Heathrow has so many terminals but it's one of the busiest airport in the world (I think!) interms of plane movements and passenger traffic.
how many airlines land in MMIA in a whole day. I'm not sure they are up to 50 (~ 1 plane per 30 mins) as opposed to Heathrow where a plane lands like every 2 minutes and you can see the queue. What MMIA needs is more efficiency and refurbishments. They need to attend to passengers faster, provide multi-level parking and ensure they maintain it regularly. I doubt if Lagos with the level of poverty in Nigeria can justify another international airport in terms of economics. Which airlines will fly to the place, it's the same set of FEW people that travel in Nigeria. We have pauperized our people to the extent that international air travel is seen as a big deal and therefore even though we have 150 million people, more than half of them will never travel outside of NIgeria in their lifetime!

From time of old homosexuality has been around and is still current today. A friend of mine is due to get married next week in Ibadan, and he is not really into his wife to be, but he is getting married because it is what is expected of him.

It is a nonesense to suggest that gays do not exist among Muslims, as again I have many gay Muslim friends as well as Christians.

Gay people can and do pursue meaningful life equal to that of heterosexual. I and my boyfriend have been in a relationship for over four years. We plan to have a civil partnership ceremony in a few month times. Of course, the ceremony won't be held in 9ja, as unfortunately Nigeria’s law statutes do not recognise gay relationships not to mention marriage.

I am hopeful about the odds that Nigerians will pull their heads from out of the sand and face up to life in the 21St Century. Homosexuality is here with us and all you bigots out there need to get over it and embrace it.
