A High Court sitting in Akure, Ondo state has sentenced to death the killer boyfriend Chukwudi Onweniwe of an HND student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Nifemi Adeyeoye to death by hanging.

Chukwudi Onweniwe was dragged before the court in May 22 2017 on a four count charge of action endangering life, kidnapping and abduction, rape and murder. .

According to the Prosecutor, Jumoke Ogunjebi said the accused person abducted the deceased and took her “to a farm near Alayere, Ogbese, raped her and then snuffed life out of her by choking and strangulating her to death.

The police prosecutor, Inspector John Aderibigbe said that one of the motorcyclists who testified in the case reported the suspicious movement of the accused person and the deceased at the police station.

Aderibigbe said that the case was later transferred to Special Anti Cultism Squad in Akure. Testifying, the mother of the deceased, Mrs Adeyeoye said her daughter had informed her she was going to visit her friend on the day she went missing. Adeyeoye claimed she did not know the accused person though he was said to be her daughter’s boyfriend.

According to her ” l did not see my daughter again after she got missing until police men invited me to come to the mortuary to identify a corpse whether it was that of my daughter or not. Also giving evidences the two motorcyclists who saw the lover birds together on the ill fated day told the court that they conveyed them to a spot in town.

Justice Bola said that an autopsy was carried out by one Dr. Pelemo, a staff of Ondo state Specialist Hospital, Akure who described the abnormal state of the deceased’s neck and fracture of the skull. According to him “it suggested that the deceased had been attacked by an object with a blunt edge which led to her death. The judge stated that the accused person had confessed to the officers of the squad according to the testimony of one Ayoola Famoriyo and had taken his team to the spot where he hid the corpse of the deceased.

“There, the accused person had pointed to the spot where she kept the corpse and it was taken to the mortuary while the stone found near her head with which he had purportedly hit her skull was taken to the police station as an exhibit. “Famoriyo had further testified that a search of the accused person’s room had revealed the deceased’s belongings such as a school bag, wallet, some GNLD products, her phone and 22 passport photographs.

The father of the accused person Nwosu Onweniwe while giving evidence in defense of his son told the court that the deceased was his son’s girlfriend who had been very helpful to him.

Meanwhile, after examining all facts of the case, Justice Bola while delivering judgement said that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt in three out of the four count charges The Judge observed that the prosecution failed to prove the case of rape against the accused person.

He therefore found him guilty as charged on three counts and sentenced him as charged. Justice Bola declared that “On the count of kidnapping, he was sentenced to life imprisonment, on strangulating and choking, he was sentenced to death by hanging and on murder, he was also sentenced to death by hanging.

In a previous confession to the police, Chukwudi denied that he killed her for rituals as he claimed that he had killed her for the fun of it.

“I did not remove any part of her body; I only killed her for the fun of it. I made love with her in the bush before killing her. I am not a cultist. It was when I killed her that I realised I made a big mistake and I wept bitterly,” he said.

He added that the devil pushed him to do it.

Last Monday, Travis Kauffman went for a [size=8pt]run near Fort Collins, Colorado. Little did he know his workout would include suffocating a mountain lion.

“I feel like I should go buy a bunch of lottery tickets,” he said.

Authorities on Thursday identified Kauffman as the runner who won a fight to the death struggle last week after the cat ambushed him along the trail.

Kauffman — a 31-year-old who moved to Fort Collins about five years ago to live a more active, outdoor lifestyle — described the nightmarish experience in a February 11 interview with Colorado Parks and Wildlife. A video of that interview was shown to reporters on Thursday, and Kauffman repeated his account at a press conference afterward.

“It was just pure adrenaline,” he told reporters. “There was a certain point where I just kind of imagined being stuck on this hillside and eventually just having a cat gnaw at me, which is a creepy way to go. But, for the most part, the adrenaline just kept kicking in at those moments.”

Kauffman was running in the Horsetooth Mountain Open Space on February 4 when he heard the rustling of pine needles somewhere behind him.

He typically wouldn’t have turned his head to look, assuming the noise belonged to a smaller “woodland creature.”

“But in the back of my mind there’s always that thought that it could be something else,” Kauffman said. “And that something else this time happened to be a mountain lion.”

“I just kind of had my heart sink into my stomach a little bit,” Kauffman said.

The cat was about 10 feet away, said Kauffman, and he threw up his arms and began yelling in an attempt to scare the animal off.

It didn’t work.

The cat pounced, latching its jaws around Kauffman’s wrist as he tried to protect his face from the claws scratching at his face and legs.

He tried to throw the cat off of him, but both man and lion tumbled down a slope, and a “wrestling match” ensued, Kauffman said.

He eventually managed to pin down the cat’s back legs as he reached for sticks and rocks to strike the mountain lion and force it off of him. All the while his arm was still trapped in the cat’s mouth.

Hi, Please am seriously confused I met this college mate in our 200L and she's lovely, beautiful, smart and kind. We were dating and she was so much into me. After some months I notice she always act funny though trying hard to fake it for me. It was later I discovered she had a boy friend who she love but they have misunderstandings and she needs someone to make her happy then. So apparently she was double dating but was as well confused too. Well she finally leave the dude for me. Fast forward  to our final year. I notice she's stingy and only thinks about herself alone.
