scribble: igbos and their double standards. always quick to say yoruba land is no mans land as it was a former capital.

now lets say lagos was anambra or delta state. we will have asari dokubo telling us that it is their land/oil

we've always maintained we dont need ur oil...maybe the northerners do but westerners dont.

even without oil, lagos economy is poised to pass Nigeria if these inept leaders keep messing up, and thats according to an American professor.

Politics13 Wash Magistrate’s Car Over Unlawful Assembly by BlackPikiN(op): 3:12am On Jul 25, 2013
LAGOS-An Ojo Chief Magistrates' Court in Lagos, Monday, ordered 13 tricycle operators to wash the vehicle of Chief Magistrate Taslimi Shomade for alleged unlawful assembly.

The accused are Francis Levi, Vitus Nwafor, James Okpara, Chima Ohi, Emeka Anigboso, Ifedi Unachukwu, Uche Duru, Charles Uzoigwe, Simeon Ngene, Chidi Amadi, Anthony Okoro, Linus Nwawurum and Sunday Nwankwo.

They were arraigned on March 7 on a four-count charge of conspiracy, breach of peace, unlawful assembly and assault.

The prosecutor had told the court that the accused were arrested on March 5 at Ilogbo bus stop, Ajangbadi, over alleged unlawful assembly and breach of peace.

They had pleaded not guilty to the charge and were granted bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

Shomade struck out the case for want of diligent prosecution.

He, however, ordered the court officials to provide buckets, rags and detergent for the accused to wash his car as a form of community service.

PoliticsObi Has Laid Foundations For A New Anambra - Soludo by BlackPikiN(op): 3:05am On Jul 25, 2013
Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has described Governor Peter Obi as a man of destiny whose disciplined and God-fearing life has insured his success in life.

He said this on Tuesday during the memorial thanksgiving mass at St Theresa's Catholic Church, Isuofia, in honour of Soludo's mother-in-law and commended the governor for his numerous achievements, noting that he had laid strong foundations for sustainable development, which, he said, future administrations could consolidate.

Soludo disagreed with the governor's plan to retire from active politics, saying that the country needed people like him, especially during these trying times.

In his remarks, the parish priest, Reverend Michael Nwajiobi, enjoined Christians not to run from pillar to post in search of miracles, but should surrender their lives to God and remain steadfast in whatever position they found themselves to attract divine intervention. He said that Governor Peter Obi had sacrificed a lot to make the state a model, and noted that his vision and mission had transformed all sectors of the state

Tomorrow Fashola will deny the act like he did in the past.

September 29, 2012

The governor had said he had directed law enforcement agencies to impound the trailer that brought the people as well as take custody of the inmates, pending investigations. Saturday Sun gathered that when investigation revealed that the inmates were ferried from Lagos, Governor Obi expressed sadness that Nigerians could be taken from one state in the country and dumped in another state. He was said to have confronted Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, at the Governors’ Forum parley on this.

The Lagos governor was said to have denied knowledge of this. Not satisfied, Governor Obi has written a petition to President Goodluck Jonathan. Giving a hint to this earlier, the governor had said his government would no longer tolerate a situation where people of the state were discriminated against or have their appointments terminated by other state governments, when indigenes of other states are gainfully employed in Anambra.

He said: “Investigations have shown that most of them (those ‘deported’ from Lagos) are not from Anambra State, but were dropped here. I am going to make a report to the Federal Government that Nigerians cannot be refugees in Nigeria.

Imagine a country where the poor masses are dying / going hungry everyday. Graduates and youths unemployed because of slow economic growth.
Senator Bola Tinubu lavish birthday which took place yesterday at Teslim Balogun Stadium costs a whooping N1 Billion

Initial reports stated N200 million. According to reliable sources, the 60th birthday bash actually costs N1 Billion.
Here is the breakdown of the funds
Action congress states paid N10 million each
Lagos state government paid N150 million

Governors of Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Osun, Oyo and Edo states paid N50 million each – N300 million Lawmakers, other politicians and contractors who benefited during Tinubu& tenure paid the rest

Nigeria needs nothing but revolution. Without revolution, these selfish politicians will continue to take care of their own bellies.
A message for all you shameless politicians – continue embezzling and when you die, take it to your grave.

Lagos State To Cough Up N1 Billion To Fund Tinubu's Birthday Celebration

By SaharaReporters, New York
SaharaReporters has learnt that former Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Lagos has demanded that the Lagos State government and various local government councils in the state contribute huge sums of cash to fund his 69th birthday celebration.

Reliable sources told SaharaReporters that Mr. Tinubu, a professed opposition figure and leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), made it compulsory that the chairmen of all local governments under the party contribute cash to give him a birthday that one of his critics has described as “obscene and immoral.” In all, the ACN chieftain has asked the state and local governments to cough up N1 billion.
“The birthday party is being planned as a month-long affair and will be celebrated in phases,” said one source.

In addition to the funds from his state, Mr. Tinubu has also asked that the governors of Oyo, Ekiti, Edo and Ekiti make significant cash donations to the planned events. Our sources revealed that tension may be brewing between Mr. Tinubu and Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State over the latter’s refusal to contribute towards the lavish birthday party.

Mr. Ajimobi recently hosted President Goodluck Jonathan's wife, Patience, during her visit to Oyo State. A source close to the governor told SaharaReporters that Mrs. Jonathan told Mr. Ajimobi not to create enmity with PDP elements in his state. She reportedly described former Governor Tinubu as a closet member of the PDP.
Our source said Mrs. Jonathan, who was piqued by Tinubu’s recent criticisms of her husband’s policies, also revealed that Mr. Tinubu has met secretly with her husband on several occasions. She said that, at one such private meeting last year in France, President Jonathan and Tinubu struck a deal to quash a case against the former governor for violations of Code of Conduct provisions.
After portraying Mr. Tinubu as a selfish politician out for his personal financial interests, Mrs. Jonathan told Ajimobi to contact her directly if he needed anything from Mr. Jonathan.
Although Mr. Tinubu claims to be 60 years old, a source told us that he is at least 67 years old.
