RomanceRe: Relocation: Who Should Relocate Women Or Men? by BlackRevo: 7:58am On May 13, 2010
yimiton:
It doesn't matter who relocates.

What should be considered here is who can relocate. It will be silly for any man to tell his wife to relocate just because of pride. If
the husband works in a company that has branches all over the country and he could possibly relocate to where his wife's job is situated without loosing anything, then so be it. That also applies to the woman.
While i am in support of you concerning what you stated above and which in my opinion should also include inter city, state,  country and continental cases. I would not be in support of the most basic which is the house relocation. The husband can relocate but the woman should always move into the man's home and not the woman's home and please this has nothing to do with pride.

showstopa:
Pride, the bane of the "black Nigerian " Man!!!!!! Hiss
i Know some jobless men who would rather the wife left her job and came to stay with him wherever he is than move to where she is,Note we are talking about geographical location not the physical house.
The sooner we let down our guards down concerning some of these non issues ,the faster our civilization in Nigeria would happen.
Peace
Depends what you mean by joblessness, what is the usefulness of relocating if you will still be jobless in your new location? But if there is prospect of getting a job in that new location then we can say pride might be one of the reasons for not relocating but that is not entirely true on its own. There are a thousand and one reasons why he might not want to relocate to where his wife already lives apart from pride.

Did you delete the installation file after building your website? or you can just rename it as well so it does not link to it. I think it has something to do with the installation folder or file but lets wait for the boss anyway.

Nigeria’s Under-17 women’s team beat South Africa 2-1 on Saturday afternoon to qualify for the 2nd FIFA Uunder-17 Women’s World Cup 7-1 on aggregate.

The Flamingoes, 5-0 winners in the first leg of the final round qualifying fixture in Abeokuta two weeks ago, upstaged their hosts 2-1 inside the James Motlatsi Stadium in Klerksdorp on Saturday afternoon.

Charity Adule and Ugochi Oparanozie, who hit four of the five goals in the first leg, scored for the Flamingoes, who were also at the inaugural championship of the competition in New Zealand two years ago.

Bantwana did manage to find a goal, but it proved scant consolation as it is the Nigerians who will be on their way to Trinidad and Tobago in September.

South Africa have officially lodged a protest against Nigeria on allegations of fielding over-age players during the Under-17 World Cup qualifier at Opperheimer Stadium on Saturday.

South Africa warned the Nigerians against fielding over-age players in the first leg, after losing 5-0, but they came back to to honour the second leg game against Bantwana on Saturday with the same squad.

The country’s Under-17 ladies team lost 7-1 on aggregate against their counterparts after losing 2-1 at Opperheimer Stadium on Saturday.

Bantwana manager, Fran Hilton Smith has confirmed the protest.

“Yes I can officially confirm that we have lodged a protest against four Nigerian players who we believe are over-age and were not supposed to play in the Under-17 tournament.

“We have submitted the necessary documents and paid the protest fee and are waiting for CAF to respond on the matter.”

Bastards said Pompey won't go. . .
Chai thats bad, the money hungry FA will always live to their reputation. So you mean they will not go even if they win the FA cup? I read somewhere that they missed the deadline to apply for a uefa license and they want to appeal now as they are hoping to win the FA cup. I heard the FA wants to deduct another 17 point when they start the next season as well in the championship.

nateevs:
I think the Premier League have ruled that Pompey would not be allowed.
It will be a slap on the face for football if Pompey are allowed to.
You mean even if the win? they have been punished enough already so why this further hash treatment. Brother i don't really buy that slap in the face of football because they have rightly earned the right to do so. No be beans to win FA cup na abi na slap in the face also for spurs and mancity to feature in the champions league? after all they earned the right by finishing fourth according to the FA rules.

They should allow them to feature and maybe if they perform they will also be a top club, look at russia that has produced zenit and rubin kazan and who thought fulham will even get to the europa league final. The FA should stop cheating these small clubs and by the way twente just won the dutch leage. Football is changing and i think the FA should change as well. No mind my long grammer jare cool

PoliticsAt Last Missing’ N200b Farmers Loan Found. ( Without The Interest ) by BlackRevo(op): 12:59pm On May 02, 2010
The missing N200 billion loan advanced to farmers by the federal government has been returned to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), said Sheik Ahmed Abdullah, agriculture minister, yesterday in Abuja at a meeting with the House of Representatives committee on agriculture.

The committee is presently investigating the whereabouts of the funds, which was meant to assist farmers across the country to enhance food production.

Mr Abdullah told the committee that following some disagreement with managing banks, which led to some delays in the speed at which the fund was to be disbursed to farmers, the ministry was ordered to return the money back to the central bank.

“Now on the N200b, much has been written on the pages of newspapers. I somewhere frowned or looked at it as being fixed deposited somewhere and somewhere looked at it as a missing money,” he said.

“But in what we have on file which would soon come before you, there was specifically a designated bank that was supposed to bank the money but some [sic] conditionality created a wage between the beneficiaries and the bank; and the submission is that this lack of agreement between the beneficiaries and the bank affected the disbursement of the money, and that led to a matching order for the fund to be returned back to the Central Bank.”

On the auctioning of some tractor equipment in the ministry, which is also being investigated by the lawmakers, the minister said the exercise was a procedural one meant to dispose some outdated and used equipment that were no longer needed in the ministry.

Gap in communication

He said due process was followed, but blamed the ignorance of the members on communication gap existing between his ministry and the lawmakers.

Mr Abdullah assured the lawmakers that the committee would cooperate with the committee in its operations in order to achieve maximum success in its operations.

Gbenga Makajuola, chairman of the committee, explained that the meeting was convened to familiarize its members with the minister and his team who are expected to assume duties early this month.

Mr. Makanjuola had previously informed them that the House has launched investigations into the missing N200 billion and the auctioning of tractors by the ministry, adding that he (minister) would soon be invited to state the position of the ministry on the issues.

No mind them jo, me I am not dropping my finger print for MTN or Glo or you can even imagine dropping your finger prints for an epileptic company like ZAIN. . . . . .TUFIAKWA!
Thank you my brother and imagine that zain or which company that changes owner all the time, wonder what the Chinese and arabs will do with such data's in their hands. With all the corruption going in this country i won't be surprised if insiders start selling peoples data to the highest bidder or crime gangs.

kech:
True that. That is why fingerprints are essential. You can fake your name but you can't fake your fingerprint. As long as your fingerprint is on record, they'll catch you if you try to play smart. Everyone's fingerprint is unique. No two are the same.
Please where in the world do they submit finger print data to obtain sim cards?  undecided   Its like you guys are missing the point, i am not saying finger print technology is not essential in fighting crime but it should not be in the hands of a phone company.
PoliticsRe: Sim Card Registration Begins May 1 ( Please Say No To This Rubbish ) by BlackRevo(op): 5:42pm On May 01, 2010
violent:
And why should we say No?

We supply this kind of information {Passport, address, etc} at the banks before opening an account, the only addition is the finger print thingy, so why make a big fuss out of nothing.

Moreover, looking at the upside which clearly outweighs the downside, such information as fingerprint will definitely come handy towards tracking of criminals, kidnappers etc.
Hundreds of crime are committed on a daily basis with the perpetrators ignorantly leaving their fingerprint all over the place, it is only prudent that we have a database that can analyse such data and produce the criminals involved in a clear and concise manner.

Besides, it will also help to stem cases of fraud which has consistently been the bane of Nigerian's problems
You should say no because you do not need a finger print submission to obtain a sim card even in the developed world and such biometric data are not to be left in the hands of private institutions. No one is against using finger print technology to fight crime but such data's are only left in the hands of government agencies and not a phone company please.

Hope you remember mossad dubai hit and i wonder what you guys will say when your data is used to commit such crimes.

Data Protection Issues And The Legal Implications In Nigerian Communications Commission’s (NCC) Directive On Sim Card Registration

PoliticsSim Card Registration Begins May 1 ( Please Say No To This Rubbish ) by BlackRevo(op): 2:48pm On May 01, 2010
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and telecom operators have expressed optimism over the commencement of the Sim card registration from May 1.

In a telephone interview with NEXT, Reuben Muoka the spokesperson for the commission said, “Any new sim card bought subsequently from May 1, 2010 must be registered for life.”

The commission announced in December that the sim card registration is part of efforts to curb crime in the country, but the exercise will, however, begin with new sim cards purchased by new subscribers.

Mr. Muoka explained that the registration will be done online, adding that “operators are expected to put all machinery in motion for the commencement of the process. We suspect that they will sell what is called partially activated lines, whereby, you may get a line but can only receive calls or Short Message Service (SMS) but not able to make calls or send texts. So, you must now go to a particular place where you will have your sim registered before you can begin to enjoy these services,” said Mr. Muoka.

MTN is ready

In an email response to NEXT, Funmilayo Omogbenigun, the General Manager, Communications, MTN Nigeria said, “Yes, MTN Nigeria is ready to commence its Sim cards registration come May 1, 2010. We have installed equipment that captures bio-metric and demographic data.”

Ms. Omogbenigun noted that the registration exercise will not affect the prices of Sim cards in the market.

Registration requirements

However, there are some basic requirements from new subscribers to ensure a successful exercise.

Visafone Nigeria explained, “We need to capture subscriber’s name, phone number, address, digital photo and biometrics (thumb & index finger print). These are the specific requirements needed from the subscriber at no cost to ensure the smooth flow of the process.”

Existing subscribers

The Communications Commission, the industry regulator said it will handle the registration of the active subscribers sims estimated in excess of 70 million, even as it has not yet decided on the commencement date.

“We hope to start within the next three months. The duration for the process will depend on when we start, because we need to review when we begin and know what kind of deadline is appropriate in this circumstance,” said Mr. Muoka.

Price Cap

Ahead of the Sim card registration, the commission has also announced the introduction of a price cap system for the benefit of subscribers.

Stephen Bello, the acting vice chairman of the commission, in a recent statement said, the regulator has developed a policy of price cap regulation, “where we give a price and the competition can make you to operate within this degree of freedom, but not beyond it.”

He argued that the measure became necessary to forestall a situation in which operators may “cooperate and try to maximize their profit”.

“Now we know for a fact that the number of lines has increased, there is economy of scale and you know that as you have advantages of economy of scale the unit price comes down. We believe that the competition in the industry will control prices,” added Mr. Bello.

Mr. Muoka expantiated, “In order to make tariff to come down further just as the interconnect rate came down last year, the expectation is that the retail price will also come down. In order to actually make it happen, we put a price cap that is, a price at which no operator will charge above.”

He, however said the price cap has not yet been determined, as such a judgment will be based on “the market situation, what the competition is, the interconnect rate and say no operators can charge above a certain amount. We are going to review it, get more data from the operators about their current rate and also do this in other services like SMS etc., before implementing.”
